Food was ok waited a while so expected food to be hot was a bit disappointed as breakfast was just warm toast cold which was ok for me but could tell was left to go cold bacon burnt one side whilst eating breakfast music being played kept getting louder which was quite irrating shame as looked quite a nice pub friendly staff and the kids enjoyed games etc

Food was quick and nice. Would definitely go back

Me and my children enjoyed a meal here for mothers day. I had the mixed grill which was lovely. My daughter had the gravy burger and she really enjoyed it. My son and granddaughter had fish fingers and chips which they both enjoyed. The price of our meal and drinks was really good too. The only things that were disappointing was that as a request on booking I asked to be seated in a quieter area as my son doesn't do well with too many people or really loud noised and we were put in an area that had a lot of shouting children who were running around in and out of the fire door. I also had to pay for the children's desserts even though on the menu it was part of the meal.

Came here again with a voucher due a less than ideal meal last time I had a sizzler steak and it was SUPERB, genuinely one of the nicest steaks I have ever had the privilege of being able to eat Compliments to the chef!

We arrived and asking if we could bring our puppy in the young girl said yes. So I stood at the bar awaiting to be served and someone else approached and the same girl proceeded to serve him before me! He turned out to be a regular so it was clear who comes first in this establishment. We later ordered food and my wife’s steak came well done instead of medium and missing gravy, my steak was like a rubber boot for well done. We asked a waitress for the gravy which didn’t arrive with my wife’s meal, approximately 8 minutes later the same girl came back to see if everything was ok? So I said we asked you for gravy but it didn’t appear? Oh I’ll get it now! No thank you we are nearly done no offer of a refund. We attend other hungry horse pubs and have never had this service but I can assure you we will not be returning here!!

Great value for money, good service

Dropped in as we were hungry and in the area. Very busy with football fans, and women f'in and jeffin. Cheap and cheerful place, so set your expectations.

I went recently with my nephew to The Thatch and Thistle and received impeccable, friendly service as I always do from there. I was served by Hayden who was super friendly and helpful. Definitely an experience we will be repeating

Great service eat here all the time

Called in with family for a birthday meal. Table was dirty. Ordered 5 meals from across the range all meals were basically cold. Meat on the large mixed grill was dried out, obviously been in a warmer for hours. Same with the All day breakfast. Portion sizes were questionable. We probably would have been better off at Wetherspoons Colne. We will never eat here again. I hate to feel ripped off when eating out especially when money is tight - you need to get your act together Hungry Horse!

Not a bad pub this place is huge but there were some issues with the menu after a problem with delivery. Staff were helpful and warned us when we were ordering. Food portion size was okay.

Been to the thatch for tea, got served by Aiden who was very hospitable and courteuos, ordered food and drinks, which we didn't have to wait long for and the food was hot, would definitely come again

We went to the that h and thistle pub in Nelson had to wait 45 minutes for our meal, our turkey roast was horrible would certainly not recommend not for the roast anyway, stuffing was hard didn't think much of the turkey the mash tasted like powdered mash

Nice and relaxed, good service and food

Dissatisfied with quality of food. Mash potato looked like leather. Chicken breast boiled and then microwaved. Both my partner and I had nausea and vomiting all night. Reported dissatisfaction to waiter who said he refunded our meal cost back to our card. Awaiting of this to go through. Used to be cracking we went twice a week prior to lockdown. It's put us off going again.

Loved this pub, we had a nice meal, very friendly staff and the price was very reasonable, a lot cheaper than the pubs near us.

Booked for a party of 14 (including young kids) couple of weeks ago, we were seated right next to the over 18s only which was fine until a rowdy bunch started with thier profanities, then it escalated into a woman hitting a man in the face and he responded by head butting her and everybody started screaming and shouting. I had to usher my kids to the back corner of our seating area as they were quite scared. Now it wasn't the fault of the staff and it was quickly dealt with but not 1 person came over to see if the children were OK after witnessing all the drama. We had been recommended to go by a few locals but don't think we will return.

I've frequented here for many years. The staff are always helpful. The food is what you pay for, but you can tell effort has been put in to make the menu look appealing and not the same as every other pub grub. They have a large selection of alcoholic beverages and are well stocked of popular drinks. Obviously not all drinks they have on tap are popular with many locals, so if it runs out they may not have another barrel until next delivery. Just one of them things isn't it.

Very Disappointing. One of my go to places for a beer & snack usually. Had 4 pints of San Miguel with a side of Salt & Pepper chips & Chicken Wings. The chips were pale & soggy with some pale dust substance thrown on. No chilli, onion, pepper or any garnish. The wings were ok, but didn't come with any flavoring or sauce. I requested hot sauce. Maybe no chef today. Visited Sunday 27/10/24 Come on Thatch you can do better.

Beautiful pub and great food (when it's in stock) Expensive, poor ales (if in stock) be wary of only being 3.4 - 3.7% so not what I'd call ale. Ordered overpriced hardly alcoholic ale and plenty of food for me and my wife to be told they've run out of ale, all the ale, so cancelled all the food, got a refund and went wetherspoons. Ordered an Uber to be told they have found another barrel, too late, never coming again! Was going to book for Xmas day too but found somewhere else. Shame as food is normally quite good but a few times been and run out of dishes, even Sunday dinners on a Sunday. 😆 Needs new management urgently.

Where has the pensioner menu gone. Loved that there was a choice of smaller portions for those who had a lesser appetite

Great stop off on route to the cinema - Quick sevice, food hot, guinness excellent. Young Australian guy was brilliant - Knows how to pour Guinness and very polite and helpful - Well run organised friendly pub...

There is a child's glass of milk on the bar! While the parent gets pissed the child runs riot. Apart from this you can find sticky Tables and the usual pub grub menu

Food was well done for what it is, dessert was spectacular. Service great and atmosphere happy considering it was really quiet.

You can tell it's a chain. Some of the dishes were no longer available at 7:30 p.m. The food isn't exactly outstanding. However, the apple crumble can definitely be recommended.

Pleasant Hungry Horse chain Pub Good community atmosphere, typical pub food, served hot and with a smile. It was a busy Friday night, and service was a little slow. Over all, doesn't break the bank, pleasant experience with tasty food and moderate selection of drinks.

Vegan burger was delicious. Mushroom and Ale pie was a bit of an acquired taste. Service was fantastic and very welcoming.

Food good quality, I had scampi and chips with sweet peas and tartar sauce, all from freezer though good quality, husband had fish chips peas and tartar sauce, beer batter fish large potion very tasty, chip peas from frozen though tasty. Bottle white house wine cup of tea Bill just over £21 so extreme good value. Would recommend for a lunch or evening meal children welcome.

Met friends for lunch, drink & food orders taken quickly. Two meals arrived, but the other two were five minutes later, so we found the first two going cold when we started eating. Food was ok & good value for money

Had a really lovely meal! Food was lovely and fresh great portions and came out 10mins after ordering which was brilliant. Great value for money and they let us order 15mins before they stopped serving food. Atmosphere and staff were great place was really clean. Had a really nice time

The thatch and thistle is a great pub with a fantastic atmosphere the staff are wonderful very friendly and efficient, I find Cora especially accommodating willing to go over and above to kee .p the patrons happy perhaps his is one reason the pub has a fantastic client base of regulars 5 stars indeed

Wonderful choice for the family drinks and food, plenty of parking space and the price is right.

We had a lovely lunch here. Very impressed with the presentation and the lamb kofta was delightful. Will definitely return when we are next on holiday.

Good food and at a good price. I understand that having fewer people behind the bar, keeps the cost down. But whilst people are waiting for a refill, they’re not drinking.

Love the new menu, especially the new lunch time menu served 12-4.

I was given a room temperature J2o and an empty glass, so I had to go to the bar and ask for ice in my glass. Wouldn't have minded no ice if the J2o was cold. I ordered cheesy chips, it came with the chips in a dish on a plate. I moved the dish off the plate but there were dirty marks black marks under it so I put it back. There wasn't a lot of cheese and it was fully melted and stuck to the dish. My husband ordered a coke, no ice but it was nice and cold, maybe ice is an option he missed ordering on the app 🤷🏻‍♀️ he had a double burger with bacon, with steak and some chicken wings. I had his sweetcorn which is why I tried to move my chip dish. He said the steak was amazing.

Bit noisy with kids but it was Saturday. Food excellent as was service

I went here yesterday for the first time as I live round the corner so I thought I'd try my favourite tipple, Guiness. Why is it that bar staff have no idea how to pour it, can I suggest you go on YouTube and look! Safe to say I won't be going back. When you get a pint and the head is full of bubbles and looks like a volcanic eruption you know you've come to the wrong place. Sort it out.

Found this little gem hidden away but now I will be returning most weekends great food quality prep and care cooking and the staff were lovely made the whole experience memorable 😁

The food was very good, batter on the fish wonderfully crisp and light,nice chips price for two unbelievable. Would recommend to anyone.

Had the full English breakfast here today. Very nicely cooked and presented - and hot which is a must. The coffee was also piping hot and the service efficient with the staff friendly and pleasant. We will definitely be back banging on the doors at 10am prompt.

Met friends here for lunch, and although it's a "generic" pub chain, the food, service, and friendly atmosphere were great. Dog friendly and a cross section of people enjoying their afternoon.

Food has really gone downhill, sausages on mixed grill could have easily been 2 days old and the chicken wings were so greasy

I liked this place as soon as we walked through the doors, there were families having an early evening meal with parents and grandparents. The food is great, and very reasonable. Will be back.

It was pants .went for a Sunday diner on mother's day .and the food was terrible .I can only say avoid the Sunday roast .I cannot say what other food was like. Processed microwave food .Don't do it guys
