This cafe has the best home made scones and bread and butter pudding. The food is so delicious and a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend a visit!!

We had really nice soup with bread rolls and tea for two. I am gluten intolerant so it was good to find that the soup was gluten free and there was an option to have gluten free bread. We didn’t try the cake, but there was a very delicious looking selection on offer, including some that were gluten free. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

We've eaten here many times and really enjoyed the food, but for the past few months it's been impossible to have their bacon roll/baps because the unenthusiastic assistant now says it's too early. Very disappointing. It's always too early, even at almost 11am on a Sunday or weekdays. We think it's a shame because that's presumably why they open, to sell food,,,,,

We found this by chance while on a group cycle ride from Bath. What a great find! It’s mainly outside seating - so you have to pick your day - but the coffee was excellent, so were the stuffed croissants and the selection of cakes was amazing! Well done you guys! Thank you for being friendly to cyclist unlike other snooty cafes in Tetbury!!!

Very underwhelmed. From the pictures and other people’s reviews I was expecting a nice cosy cafe with a selection of hot food and sandwiches to sit and read my book in… what I got was a open echoey hall sat on outdoor patio seating and a choice of soup or stuffed croissants as something savoury to eat. The cakes did look good but didn’t order as was keen to leave however once you’ve got past the receptionist you almost feel rude for going in and not buying something. £5 for a cheese and ham croissant and £2.50 for a tiny coffee… must be Tetbury price!

We sat outside for takeaway tea, coffee, cheese scone and cake and it was all delicious. My husband particularly rated the coffee and the gluten-free brownie.

Visiting the Whistlestop Cafe brought sunshine to a soggy day. We appreciated the warm welcome and our takeaway lunch - quiche and salads, and soup and savoury croissant - was really tasty and came in generous portions. We were spoilt for choice with an array of appealing cakes. We look forward to returning to sit-down from 17 May, and to enjoy the trails capturing the history of the area.

Without doubt worth a visit. Walk in Preston Park which is easily reached on foot, park free and short walk to the historic town. Wonderful coffee and food, indoor and outdoor seating in normal times. This is the jewel in the crown in Tetbury where there are other brilliant cafes and restaurants. At the cafe view forthcoming events at the Goods Shed at the same location. Used by many locals.

Delicious looking array of cakes and baked goods. The coffee was excellent and I had a savoury croissant filled with mozzarella, tomato and basil. Plenty of space, both inside the arts centre and outside - big decking under cover so it’s ideal at the moment. Lovely train themed play area and nice walks. Free parking. Just lovely.

Unexpectedly excellent patisserie selection - both sophisticated and delicious. We had the mince pies, bread and butter pudding, and a lemon polenta cake - all excellent. The hot chocolates were also generously large, and very reviewed by the children. Definitely worth a stop on your walk.

We called here to top up our coffee and cake consumption during a walk around the Tetbury area. All good - especially the cheese scone with cream cheese and chutney - but it was like being in a library, it was so quiet. Could do with some background music to add a bit of atmosphere to such a large room.

Popped in here for lunch with my husband. It was lovely eating in the big hall. Lovely waitress. I had the pulled pork pitter, huge portion very delicious. My husband had the egg brunch with avocado. Somewhere different to eat rather than the usual café on the High Street. Highly recommended. You can take your dogs and dog friendly.

My daughter& I had attended a hospital appointment and needed to get some breakfast whilst in Tetbury. I had seen the signposts on the road in to the town and thought it might be a perfect cafe to try. The nurse in the hospital gave it her recommendation as she informed us she had eaten there plenty of times as it was superb. We parked very close by and stumbled on the cafe and had to ask passers by if we were in the correct location. It doesn’t really look like a cafe from the outside- more like an art gallery or village hall. When we went to place our order we were extremely impressed with the selection on the board. We took our seats at a table inside the hall and were extremely surprised&delighted to see a well behaved dog at every table except ours. It is lovely that this cafe is so dog friendly- they even have a jar of dog biscuits on the condiment table for you to help yourself -as a treat for the dog. The coffee was delicious and so were my fluffy scrambled eggs on toast. My daughter claimed that her cinnamon French toast with berries, natural yogurt, pumpkin seeds and maple syrup was the finest she had ever tasted. Do not walk/drive past this cafe without dropping in for breakfast/brunch/lunch or tea and cake because it is a truly magnificent asset to Tetbury.

A short distance from the town centre down a hill for coffee and cake - then walk it off back up the hill to get back to town. Alternatively, stroll along the old railway line to rustle up an appetite before a delicious brunch/lunch if you would rather have something more substantial. Simple. Plenty of history and information to look at afterwards too.

We always stop off at the old Tetbury Railway yard when travelling to the South West. They now have a lovely café there - open Wednesday to Sunday. Lots of seating inside and out. Including an old Swedish Railway Carriage. The home made cakes & scones are 1st class. And there's lots of free parking and a lovely walk along the old trackbed - either into Tetbury, or the 2 miles to the Trouble Inn

We always enjoy our visits to the Whistle Stop Cafe when we stay with family in Tetbury. The little ones ride their bikes or scooters along the woodland trail (safe, no traffic) and we stop for a drink and cakes. We stopped in here on a miserable, rainy Saturday and didn't intend to have lunch but realised we were hungry when we saw the menu. We stayed in the marquee area by the main building as we had a dog with us and didn't think the rail carriage option (which I imagine is lovely) was fair on her (the dog) or other diners. There were some inventive and really healthy, hearty snacks and meals on offer. My partner went for something on toast; I had more of a pasta dish. My only hesitation was that everything was either on or came with bread/toast of some discretion and we were both on low-wheat diets at the time. Service wasn't slick, but it was pleasant which I always think is important. I also liked the offer of blankets at some of the tables.

A sunny Saturday lunchtime was the perfect time to visit the Whistle Stop Cafe in Tetbury. It is hidden away at the foot of Gumstool Hill, but it repays the effort to find it. Parking is free, a real bonus in the Cotswolds. Our lunch was freshly cooked, so be prepared for a short wait, but my wife declared that it was one of the nicest meals she had eaten. The staff are super friendly too.

A beautiful spring day thought we would take a walk along the old rail line in tetbury. Popped into the whistle stop cafe and found it very clean airy and a very relaxed atmosphere. Sat outside next to a restored carriage where we ordered a quiche to share a plain scone and a white chocolate and cranberry one. Two cappuccinos to wash it down. The quiche was awesome, creamy tasty and packed with fresh ingredients. The salad was fresh leaves with a dressing served with soda bread which was again both fresh and tasty. The scones were huge and again perfectly cooked and came with clotted cream and jam . Even the cappuccino was perfect. I must say we were both extemly happy with the quality and freshness of the food. Made for a perfect day

Went here twice in 2 days. The place is an old railway yard and the cafe is in the newly refurbished yard/auditorium. It’s clean and the staff polite. Toilets are modern and clean. There is a marquee to sit in or alternatively there is a concerted railway carriage you can order your food too and sit in. The menu is competitive and tasty, coffee good. Can’t fault the place other than it’s only open Wednesday till Sunday. I wanted to go back today (Monday) but it was closed. Plus there is free parking near by.

Found this on trip advisor and thought we would give it a try after the reviews, and so glad we did!! It is about a 5 minute walk from the Tetbury town centre situated in the old train station, perfect for a sunny day with lots of outdoor seating, also perfect if you have a dog. There is also free parking right next to the cafe. The staff are very friendly and very quick service. The food was delicious and freshly cooked, they are also happy to accommodate slight alterations. Menu is relatively small but had all the best classics for brunch and the cake selection looked brilliant - the brownies were to die for! Would highly recommend!

I think the prior reviewer has never visited this cozy cafe or their bathrooms. We stopped by in on a rainy afternoon (after they normally stop lunch service), and the thoughtful staff said no problem we can order lunch. So we ordered toasty ham and mozarella sandwiches, balsamic roasted vegetables with avocado on toast, and several dessert items. All sandwiches arrived with a small green salad and tasted delicious. The chocolate brownie, pecan brownie and chocolate cruffin were fresh and tasty. Gluten-free options were provided. All food was served by a staff team who showed kindness and hospitality. Also used two washrooms - both spotlessly clean. Do go try it - it is a local gem that should be supported!

Amazing food with ingredients which are sourced locally. Best eggs benedict l have ever had and my partner loved the chocolate brownie so much that we bought another slice to take home. We came to this cafe last year in the summer when we visited Tetbury, the menu was fantastic with much more choice. We were looking forward to the bubble and squeak brunch and we were very disappointed to find no-one around for about 10 minutes, our server was not very interested to talk to us so we ended up just having coffee and cake, the cake looked great but unfortuantley wasn't very tasty actually... a few definite changes to be made and not sure why this has changed so much since last year when it was bursting at the seams as it was?! We had lunch at the trouble house just out of tetbury in the end and it didn't disappoint!

The bread and cakes from here are epic - really good Croissant and the Sourdough is top class - can perch indoors if you are lucky or sit outside on some rather flimsy folding chairs, either way teh coffee is very good and even better with a bun! Quality of product is the main attraction, its not a large enterprise like some of the other places nearby. Worth finding.

The cafe is very basic which is fine, however, the prices are too high. Two coffees over nine pounds. We did have oat milk instead of cows and one was decaf but even so that’s the most we have been charged for two medium sized coffees anywhere in the UK. There was even a 10% service charge added to the bill which again was a first for us in a cafe. Staff were very nice but we won’t return. There is a limit to how much we want to pay for coffee. It’s not £9+.
