We ordered Fish salad each and it was the freshest salad I've had in a restaurant, absolutely delicious 😋, staff very kind very friendly, we had two cream scones with jam and clotted cream, they were home made scones and lovely too. Left there full and happy! Would we go back there again? That's a big YES! from us.

Nothing wrong with the food and setting but our waitress wasn't the most welcoming i also object to a 10%service charge being automatically added to your bill. £19.50 for a crean tea, a cappuccino and a cake. Ridiculous!!

I think £8 for a sandwich and side salad is rather expensive but I'm always happy to reserve judgement until the food is in front of me. If the ingredients are quality and the potion size substantial then I have no complaint. For an £8 sandwich I expect freshly baked bread, not processed supermarket bread which is what I got. Whilst the ham was good, again, the coleslaw was clearly shop bought. Finally if I am paying £8 for a sandwich and side salad, please don't serve me something that would be more accurately discribed as a garnish. Just because you serve it in a bowl this doesn't up-grade it. My 'side salad' constituted one cherry tomato cut in half (I kid you not), a few gratings of carrot, chunky (why?) red onion, about 5 tiny cubes of cucumber and then mostly iceberg (!) lettuce. And of course, straight out of a bottle dressing for the salad.

My husband insisted I drive to Chipping Campden to have a real English Tea because I am obsessed with Clotted Cream. I was rushed and busy and kept getting lost on the narrow winding English country roads because of my slow GPS but I went anyway. Drove through Stratford on Avon (pure tourist trap) and finally got to Chipping Campden. One of the restaurant websites recommended Badger's Hall. Very small room with a low timbered ceiling. Fast kind service, very good scone (I used to own a coffee cafe so I have made thousands of scones in my lifetime), good clotted cream and warm sweet atmosphere. As a sixty Year man I have visited many tea rooms up and down the country and had many different experiences however staff let this place down. My wife and I were greeted by a straight faced middle aged woman who pointed at a table with very little effort it was clear that she didn’t enjoy her job. The menu was varied however as a vegetarian I found little option for lunch which wasn’t sandwiches or soup . I expressed an interest in having a ‘High Tea.’ For one however I was told that it couldn’t be done as it was Only made for Two people at a extortionate price. We settled with a soup for me and open sandwich for my wife. A young brown haired waitress served us our drinks and checked up on us through our meal despite her being younger then the waitress who’d greated us she showed us the best hospitality. Sadly even if we were in the area again we wouldn’t return.

Visited here as a last stop on our holiday before a 3 hour journey home. So glad we made this choice. Badgers Hall is beautiful with lovely staff and lovely decor inside. Exactly what you wish for in a traditional tea room. Since the weather was glorious we sat outside in the quaint little courtyard next to the teapots water fountain and listened to the water and the birds singing. There was a good choice on the menu and the sandwich platter we chose was really good value, a fair bit cheaper than if we'd have ordered all the components separately. The sandwiches were lovely and there was tons of tea with extra hot water, you know it's good if they bother to give you extra hot water. Then there's the scones. Oh my goodness, we saw them come out of the Aga and the smell was divine. There was no question of having anything else! They were everything a scone should be. Whilst there I saw a family with an afternoon tea including cakes and scones, it looked amazing and the cakes were good portions too, wish I could go back for more. Make sure you visit if you can!

Quaint little place in Chipping Campden. We had a gorgeous afternoon tea, with delicious home made scones and clotted cream. Best one in the village!

Lovely little place for some simple food and cake. Great after a long walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside, although note buggies and dogs not welcome!

Welcoming and cosy tea room serving good selection of scones, cakes and hot meals. We had the crumpet platter which was delicious. Will definitely be back when we are next in Chipping Campden.

Popped in for a cup of tea and a lemon drizzle cake. Friendly staff and great tea and cake. Comfy sofas to sit on. A little quiet...nobody was chatting!

This cafe has the best home made scones and bread and butter pudding. The food is so delicious and a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend a visit!!

By luck we chose this restaurant for lunch and loved it so much went again the following evening. Smiths is a charming restaurant full of character, with a number of low-ceiling rooms. We had the” scotchy burger” both times and it was absolutely sensational. Cooked to perfection, full of flavour and quite possibly the best burger I (and my wife) have ever had or could remember having (and I’ve had a few!). The cajun fries were also perfectly cooked and added a spicy side to a (moderately) spicy burger and we left wishing this place wasn’t 2 hours away! The staff were friendly , especially the young blonde lady who was so welcoming and accommodating to us and also made the delicious chocolate mousse special that we had for desert. Definitely advisable to pre-book, this place gets very busy, and deservedly so.

Had a fantastic cake and coffee, sitting outside the bakers. The portion was very sizable and the quality outstanding.

The guy who works here is rude and condescending. Dare you not be a perfect coffee expert and ask for advice on which drink to choose.
