We enjoyed both our evenings at the Wheelright's Arms. Rob is a very congenial host and a good chef. The real ale and wine were excellent. We went twice despite only being in the area for five nights and will be back when we are in the area next.

Amazing pub! Welcoming staff and the food is honestly the best I’ve had in a long time. Great selection of drinks and the atmosphere is warming. Can’t recommend this pub enough.

Happened upon this lovely little village pub, looking for a bite to eat, landlord was incredibly welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, fish and chips were amazing and the burger too. Lovely meeting the new owners who were clearly being welcomed by the locals who have been visiting the pub for years. If you’re ever in the area for somewhere to go for a bite to eat, or a quick pint, this is a hidden gem and you won’t be disappointed. Also, three lovely pub dogs if that’s your thing too!

Excellent. Home cooked food, great service, reasonable prices, and a wood burner. All in a pub like they used to be. No gastro in sight! Quality local ales and a beaming smile from the landlady, what more could you want.

A fantastic local pub. A warm welcome from the landlords and a friendly atmosphere from he locals. It’s dog friendly and has a lovely wood burner - always a great sight on a chilly evening. Traditional pub grub is served along with a few specials and it’s wholesome and very tasty. Nothing is too much trouble with everything being served with a friendly face. It’s the local haunt for darts completions and for other local clubs and farmers - great atmosphere! We used this as our local when staying in a cottage nearby.

Came tonight with all the family. Booked as it was a Sunday and we had 3 dogs with us. Had friendly welcome from the lady behind the bar. Beer was really good. Food was Obviously freshly cooked and the potion size was really good. In fact we were so full we didn’t even have puddings. Have to recommend the steak pie, big chunks of meat and very tasty. If you are in the area definitely give it a try, would book first though to ensure your not disappointed.

Having unsuccessfully tried for Sunday lunch at several other pubs we stumbled across this little gem. It's a bit off the beaten track but worth the drive and we were treated like we were locals... the steak pie was delicious and my veggie eating wife had lots to choose from...the kids loved their gammon,father-in-law had a blast from the passed treat with a huge helping of liver and bacon and I got half of my mother-in-laws thick sliced ham as there was too much for her to finish...and the dog was happy by the real wood fire... the only downside was the snowstorm didn't continue and we didn't get a lock in....

Previous reviews looked positive so my friend and I decided we would pop along for lunch a few Saturdays ago. Poor vegetarian menu so both chose the fish pie on the specials board at £10.95. Disappointed when meal provided in small oval dish obviously pre-cooked and microwave heated. This was arguably the worst fish pie I have ever ordered, completely tasteless with no seasoning. Chips were ok but cheapest frozen peas. We asked for doggie bags so that we could take home for our canine friends - they enjoyed it! We were the only 2 customers for Saturday lunchtime, completely lacking atmosphere.

After a recommendation from the owner of the farm we were staying at and a five mile drive, we came to a friendly country pub, that although looked like a locals pub,the landlady made five Brummies feel more than welcome, the food was fantastic and they didn't scrimp on the portions either.

Great country pub, landlord and landlady were friendly and made us feel welcome despite being a large group of non-locals. The food was good for the price and the carrots were orange and carroty!

Proper pub serving decent pub grub. Our fish and chips were nigh on perfect - decent fish crispy batter and proper chips. Certainly not gastro-pub fare but wholesome cooking.

On our first and only visit to the Wheelright Arms we were faced with the worst Sunday Lunch we had had in many a day. First of all I was given a table mat which was dirty, the meal followed and I must say that I have not had frozen carrots & beans for many a day. Considering the price of veg. in July one would think that if your charging £9 per head less 5p you would try to make an effort to give FRESH veg. We were hungry and going on elsewhere so had to settle for this and eat it. However, the carrots were a step too far for me. The meat was obviously bought in and there was not one thing which been given any thought, just the cheapest. It was obvious that everything they served was just pub grub with no effort. Having been to the Three Horse Shoes at Little Cowarne on many occasions we regreted not going there again as the food is always A1 and you can not compare and cheaper for Sunday Lunch. I always feel bad giving a bad report because I know it's people's living, but we felt cheated and will never be going back. There was even an old bag of coal thrown in the fire place and ashes still in the hearth, that must have been weeks ago since the fire had been lite, in any case you think they might have cleaned this out.

Went to this pub expecting a Thai food experience but found that it had changed hands recently and does not now serve this type of food. However we stayed for a meal and were not at all disappointed. The food was freshly cooked and tasty with ample portions. The new owner was friendly as we're the locals and the chef.

Wow! The Wheelwright's is a lovely little village pub with friendly welcoming locals and a great landlord who knows how to keep a cellar. As well as this, the pub serves Thai food, cooked fresh to order by an authentic Thai chef, which tastes fantastic!!Highly recommended! Think this could be my new 'local' even if it is a 20 mile trip!!

Shame we left our visit to the Wheelwrights to the last night of our holiday. Our party of nine adults and five children sampled most of the tasty Thai menu. All dishes (including huge portions of sausage & chips for two non-exotic children) well received by everyone. Good Hobsons beer, friendly welcome, and highly recommended! Note - food only served Wed-Sat 6-9pm

The Wheelwrights is set in beautiful Herefordshire and has new landlords, Neil and Becky, and good luck to them. Neil previously a Landlord at the Majors at Frome was mad enough to want to try again. A local lady called Tuk approached him out of the blue and asked if she could cook traditional home cooked Thai food for him and thankfully he said "YES" :)I have just tried food on only their second night and it was exquisite. Highly recommend that in an area of excellent food, that if you fancy something a little different you give it a go!!!Mains include rice at about a tenner, (10% discount on take aways), is excellent value for good home cooked food. The chicken satay was as good as any I have tasted, and the three mains we tried were delicious. Made for an English palate so if you like it "Hot" just ask with your order as it is cooked fresh.... Please give it a try :)

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣
