Family birthday function with a buffet. The food was excellent the staff were amazing and we were easily able to accommodate 25 people away from the main bar. A truly excellent experience and thanks to Daryl and his staff for a great evening.

Wow. First time here, and it's definitely now going to be a regular stop spot. Got seated without a booking and there were five of us - so very lucky, as the place was full! Menu offers a good range of usual pub grub, plus pizza selection, and sandwiches (we were there for lunch). Food was superb!! Even tge kids both thought.it was great and polished off their plates. Ale range is excellent! Only able to enjoy kne of the taps, so definitely need to walk here next time and fully enjoy their range. And finally, the staff. They are so friendly! Made us feel welcome, and also made an effort engaging the kids. Thanks for a great lunch. See you soon!

Excellent pub comfortable with great atmosphere. We didn't eat therefore can't rate the food. One of the staff was a wee bit sullen, thus the 4 stars for service (maybe she was having a bad night, don't let this stop you from trying out this great spot)

Great country pubs in an old charming location. Front and back garden, 2 beautiful function room and plenary of space for a cosy drink in the other areas. Ideal for a Sunday roast or an friends chat. Interesting selection of cask ales.

For a busy Sunday lunch, it's no surprise that some popular dishes were out of stock; so I won't take that away from my review, although it does mean a return is in order to sample it all. Overall; the food was of a high quality and while the service wasn't the fastest due to the aforementioned busy time, the friendliness of the staff was excellent and more than made up for that. I expect I'll be back again very soon.

Delicious pie and Sunday roast. Service very friendly if a bit slow.

We booked for Sunday roast for four of us. Huge potions, excellent customer service and always such a warm welcome from Shane and his team.

Always totally scrumptious thoroughly enjoyable food. Staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. Full marks for gluten free food. Lovely atmosphere.

Great visit. Very friendly amazing staff especially manager and our lovely server Jack. Food was great atmosphere too. Only thing was the price of one glass of wine! I should have checked the wine list to be fair but either way was shocked after ordering a glass of Pinot to get the bill and it was £15.60 for one glass. Won’t be making that mistake again!

This was a nostalgic trip as I lived nearby during the last war. The pub was lovely as was the beer. My partner and I ordered Ham Egg and Chips. The meal arrived quickly but was swimming in oil and had a garnish salad ( which i did not order and was not mentioned on the menu ) on the side covered with a very unpleasant brown covered dressing which contaminated the rest of the food. I managed to eat the eggs ( very slippery and oily) and left the rest. My partner had the same experience. My plate was collected and I was not asked why. This visit was also a celebration of my remission from a serious medical condition. The pub was very busy and the tables very close , I did not get a chance to speak with the very efficient waitress, nor did I wish to cause any embarrassment to the tables nearby

Nice pub, but shame about the service. Felt like an inconvenience being there, the older woman serving at the bar was incredibly rude and was really difficult and slow to order some drinks, also being ignored in favour of the locals. We ordered ice cream and it came out melted. Overall not a very pleasant experience.

This review is for any vegan out there/anyone seeking out vegan options. This is a very welcoming and warm pub and we had a very comfortable visit, thank you. Two of us ordered the vegan main dish of miso infused aubergine steak with chips. The chips were good and the salad was very tasty. The aubergine was okay, it was half a baked aubergine marinated in miso. We had a starter (soup of the day) but had to order more chips after finishing our plates because it simply wasn't filling enough for us. Our friend ordered the burger which she said was good. The current menu on Google is out of date, we were really looking forward to the vegan moussaka and vegan pizza options which are no longer/not currently on offer. We love visiting pubs, but unfortunately as vegans it seems very difficult to be catered for in a way that is satisfying and enjoyable these days. This said, we appreciate the time that vegan food takes to be prepared and the challenge involved in turning over a decent profit. Thank you to those running the pub as it was overall a lovely experience, lovely landlord and staff.

A wonderful lunch! Took my two young children (7 & 3) with my mum for lunch at 12 noon on a Saturday. Service was friendly and swift, atmosphere relaxed and calm, food absolutely gorgeous! My crispy chilli beef & Asian salad was gorgeous, mum had the fish cake which was beautiful - only criticism is that the fish cake could have had slightly more fish in it, but that’s just fine tuning and to personal taste! Both boys had the jumbo fish finger which went down a real treat. Will most definitely be back!

Arrived early but was made very welcome. Booked a table for after our walk around the lake. Staff were extremely attentive and so polite. Food was excellent and reasonable price.

Nice country-esque pub in Winnersh, opposite the Dinton Pastures country park (and very dog-friendly): I didn't eat, but saw some good-looking food, so this could be a solid stop for lunch after your lakeside walk. Personally I didn't like the beer garden — artificial grass with a big-screen TV blaring sports and funeralcare ads — but the pub itself is pleasant and there are quieter picnic benches out at the front too. Staff seemed nice.

My Mum and I had a lovely meal together on Friday April 19th at the Wheelwrights Arms, after my Dad and I had come away really impressed from a previous meal there. The staff were courteous and prompt in finding us a table, taking / delivering our orders, checking everything was okay and sorting the ball, making for a smooth and enjoyable experience throughout the night. Better yet, we couldn't fault the gorgeous meals, cooked perfectly and delivering a delicious Friday night dinner. Thanks again to the whole team for your efforts and we look forward to dining with you again soon!

Have been here a few times over the last couple of years for lunches and dinner and whilst the food is usually good and the drink selection is decent…it’s just not very good value for money. In fact, it’s outright expensive when you consider the service is always a bit hit and miss and the place could do with a refurb - it’s just an average pub and that’s it in a nutshell. Nothing terrible to report, but there’s just no need to rush back.

The service was friendly and professional, food was very lovely, enjoyed by all. Great atmosphere. Lovely outdoor areas and plenty of parking. The bar service was also quick and friendly. Definitely will be going back, highly recommend!

Absolute rip off. Charging for a 5ml dash of blackcurrant with your Guinness !? Total : £7.60 for a pint. Not surprised your carpark is empty. Avoid

I'm a bit of a roast dinner connoisseur, it's my favorite thing to eat so we go for them quite a lot. This one was outstanding. The food, the value, the happy staff, the beer were all incredible. We will definitely be back. If I was being super critical, I would say the veg was very slightly overdone and the beef could have been more pink BUT I won't mark them down for it as it's 14:30, so it's late and also I ate absolutely everything and really enjoyed it. Keep it up guys, you're doing really well! Also, well done to the girl that was training and the girl training her. They were both really friendly and very efficient.

Lovely pub, great service by the staff, all very welcoming and helpful. Food was great, well cooked, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. A Wadworth pub, so plenty of selection of real ales available. Big car park if you are travelling there. Large covered and heated outdoor seating area available at the front of pub. Children welcome, so an ideal spot for a lovely meal if you are having a day at nearby Dinton Pastures Updated menu now introduced on our latest visit, with some stunningly tasty additions, Indian nachos, crispy beef with Asian salad, to name just two, the menu is now a lovely mix of traditional pub and Asian inspired fusion food. Service, price and quality is still top-drawer and this remains my favourite pub to visit whenever I'm in the local area.

Celebrated nephews 6th birthday here - good food and helpful, friendly staff. Update: just been back to celebrate 7th birthday! Same comments as before but would add it's great you can take your dog in too. Only downside: not enough vegetarian options. I always end up eating from the children's menu.

Really good meal. Fitted us (Group of 8) in at last minute. Food was delicious. Service could have been slightly improved ( offering condiments, checking food ok etc) but should not put you off having a meal at this location.

Myself and a colleague had a lovely meal with the Wheelwrights team last Wednesday March 27th. We've both found that the staff are always welcoming, there's a great selection of food whatever you fancy and the meals themselves are delicious without fail. As a point of improvement, there were perhaps too few staff at the bar to be able to see / seat everyone quickly, but this was only a minor note and hardly detrimental to a great night with yourselves. Looking forward to seeing the Wheelwright team again soon!

Made to feel very welcome on arrival . Great table for a family group. Perfect menu choices for an Easter pub lunch. Drink orders taken at table so no need to get up and down through meal.

We only popped in for a quick drink. We had never been to this pub before. It looks and feels like a proper pub. It has an excellent selection of drinks and cocktails with many beers on tap. We studied the menu and we will be returning for a meal.

Have lived in Hurst for 20 years and this was our first visit, have tried twice previously but they were full, I guess we should have taken this as a good sign. Very well run pub, staff were friendly and helpful... even sourcing a new candle as ours was dead. Food was yummy, soup starter then nut roast. It won't be another 20 years until we go again :)

Met here with group of 8 friends for lunch and throughly enjoyed the experience. Friendly staff made us welcome. Good choice of homemade dishes on the menu with generous portion sizes and great taste. Plenty of beer options all beautifully kept. Lots of parking too. I am certain we will be back before too long. As always the staff and the food were excellent. What more could you ask for? This is a really great pub, with friendly staff who make you and your dog welcome the moment you arrive. I've eaten here many times, sometimes as a couple, and sometimes as part of a larger group... the food is always delicious and the staff are always accommodating. They offer a good choice for vegetarians too...not just the usual veggie burgers! Yesterday the plant based meatballs were a winner! If you have the dog with you then this is the perfect place for lunch after a walk around Dinton Pastures, which is just across the road. We'll be back...

Pub has a good atmosphere and just a nice feel to the place. Friendly attentive staff. It's a bit on the pricier side but the vegetarian options are more interesting than most pubs, and the food is good. We do keep coming back!
