Honestly, some of the best pub grub I've had! I had the steak and ale pie, and it was absolutely massive!! And the chips were fresh, thick and crispy. Its dog friendly and they have good quality treats to buy. I look forward to going again.

We didn't have food but it's a great place to swing in for a drink and chat with the locals, a very dog friendly environment, with a doggy snack menu!

Didn't stop for food but smelt lovely! Outside busy (good sign), we opted for the inside as was busy. The staff were amazing, so friendly great pub. Must visit!

I ❤️ this pub. The staff are welcoming and helpful and polite. The food is freshly cooked and very tasty as well as being value for money. There is a warm atmosphere and it is lovely that dogs are very welcome. There is some parking at the front as well as the small car park but it can get a little cramped. I would recommend booking for a meal as it is very popular. They serve really good beers.

We have eaten at the wheatsheaf Inn several times BUT the last twice the steak pie was unable, the portions too small there seems to be a change in both the service and quality of the food, we complained and was told they would tell the chef there was no apology so hence we have not eaten there since, there was 4 of us so over £100 lost

This was our first visit and I must say the food and service was top notch. The best gammon. Chips, everything really. We will definitely make this a regular event.

Our second visit for a meal, and again, it was excellent, and we had a great time. Same menu and different specials. I had a special, it was Sea Bass on a bed of greens and new potatoes. Very nice, not a big portion, but very nice and enjoyable. Great service and excellent atmosphere again. Our first visit was a Saturday night, this time a Wednesday night. Very busy, so you need to book, but not crowded. Our third visit for a meal on Valentines Day Evening. It was a great time and excellent food and service against. It was always a great time and well worth a visit ifvyoubhave not had chancebto go before. Always advise to book to save disappointment. They can be very busy.

Booked a table for a meal and we weren't disappointed! The food was incredible, you could tell it was freshly prepared and hand cooked. The staff were lovely, very friendly and chatty so that added to the atmosphere.... All in all, would definitely go back!

Although a small village pub it has huge atmosphere and fun staff, meals are very good and come with affordable prices and a smile, plenty of history on the walls to read and savour your drinks with although I found the more I read the faster my drink evaporated, honest it did, will visit again.

Possibly the cleanest pub I've ever visited, absolutely spotless, a shame there was no food available, as I'm sure if it came to the same standards as the rest of the place it would have been top notch.. staff were so friendly, and humourous. I will defo be going back, again and again.. loved it

Over here helping family with updating a house and in my down time this pub was a stone's throw away. The staff are brilliant and they have many ready to hand even when it is really busy and I can see why it is so busy. It is a lovely home like feeling and obviously serves its local with care and attention. The pub has lots of interesting bits around that spark interest. Jem in the middle definitely worth dropping in if you passing.one for the wish list. Not tried food yet but can see very happy people and what looks like there target of serving good old traditional home heart cooked food. Gem

Great pub, lots of local history and a great pint! Toilets clean and allows dogs inside! Beer garden is small and cosy, I preferred it when the marquee was in for lots of space but understand why it's gone! Definitely worth a visit, great for a stop on a long walk!

Popped in for a meal on the off-chance for a lunchtime meal and was pleased we did. A lovely meal which was served quickly and efficiently. Reasonably prices and where I shall certainly wish to go again. I will however book next time as I understand they are busy in the evenings. Thanks to those who served us.

A night out with friends for a birthday meal. We all had steak which was fab and a good price. Staff were fantastic. Would highly recommend

Stumble on this pub by accident as we were on foot and out food shopping but couldn't find any shops in this sleepy little village, so we decided to pop in for something to eat. Time was 15:30 and they didn't serve food until 6pm so we decided to have a few drinks and wait until 6. The clientele were very freindly and we had a laugh. Well let me tell you it was well worth the wait because the food was amazing, 1st class and not stingy on the portions either. I had the home.made steak and kidney pie with chips and peas and a very large jug of gravy...heaven. my husband had a burger with chorizo, again his plate was enormous with a great side salad. If we pass through this village again on our travels, we will be sure to call in again. Great food lovely funny staff. 10/10 Thank you for making us feel so welcome

Lovely local proper pub,, serving excellent food and drinks, great staff too , well worth passing a few pubs for.. just make sure your not driving because the beer was far too drinkable !!!

It's a proper pub, with bags of character, fascinating history regarding the Canadian bomber squadron that for fin the adjacent airfield, all enhanced by a range of interesting ales.

Lovely pub, atmosphere and staff, the food is beautiful home cooked style, there is a great selection of ales and lagers. Would recommend and will visit again soon.

Called in for a couple of drinks en route to a weekend away.. What a fantastic pub , could have spent hours looking at all the photos from the RAF squadron who were based nearby during the 2nd world war.. A really good pint and friendly bar staff made you feel really welcome from the minute you walked in.. Will definitely call in again when over this way.

The pub is a lovely setting and the staff and offering are great. My concern is that like so many places there is a lack of ventilation and the attitude of customers who expect you to be happy with their proximity because they have alcohol fuelled bravado that diminishes respect for others. Much better when table service was the norm.

Every time I pass a say I want to go to The Wheatsheaf Inn today was the day hottest day of the year😎🌞 Didn't want a cooked Full meal so had Prawn Sandwich and Beef and onion served with Salad and crisps we ordered a portion of chips all lovely and fresh locally sourced produce .it was beautiful and very nicely presented the staff were very nice and friendly.We will definitely be returning 👍Well done

Lovely pub grub and great service. It's not flash but it doesn't need or try to be. We love the fresh homecooked food and they welcome kids. What's not to like. Check it out. 😁👍
