What! Cafe in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Stale dry bread on a sandwich just wanted to let the manager know this is how it was served b4 she xame in got another slice of bread to replace the one that was dried up. Got made to feel I'd done wrong 😕 I didn't say to be awkward and previous food was nice. But based on this stale bacon sandwich i won't be going back I'll get one just up the road

Always good service have it most Friday never to much trouble fantastic service and food us lush always on time with the deliver and always a smile love the food x

Went for breakfast about 12 people in cafe half had eaten was told hour wait no reason why just hour wait.

Today me and my mother decided to go to the cafe because we wanted the experience the cafe as we haven’t done so, we walked in ordered our food and told the young lady who served us what table we were sat at. We got to the table and there was food and drink on the table , so I went to the lady to see if she can sort the table out and she give me a spray and cloth to do it my self so I took the spray and cloth took it to the table mortified and a couple commented saying how disgusted they were and that no customer should clean there own table. So I explained to the couple what had happened and the young lady had oviastly heard what I had said because she give everyone there hot drinks and my mother had to go up and get hers herself we were disgusted in the customer service we had and so had a few other members of the public commented how bad it was also will not be returning absolutely disgusted is an understatement !

Today I popped into the what store in aberdare.i wasn't going to visit the cafe but decided to have a look .I'm so glad I did we ended up staying for lunch and it was delicious .THEY MAKE REAL CHIPS! I had veggie lasagne and my husband had burger and chips .I enjoyed it so much I even complimented the cook .Even the coffees look amazing so if your up that way and you fancy a bite to eat call in and judge for yourselves

lovely homely cooked food nice choice of cakes or icecream also never overbusy with comfortable table and chairs .

Lovely food at reasonable prices. Only drawback is the wait for your food but on the whole a nice experience.

Well What cafe, first of all you have to walk from one end of the store to the other through the garden center and the lovely frontage is on your left hand side, enter into a very pleasant cafeteria, you have to order your meal at the counter cooked fresh and delivered to your table very quickly, it is not five star food but simply good and honest value, it is spotless and staff very friendly, I would make a visit here no problem at all. I realise of course What’s want you in the store, but a front door would be a treat. And more visits, but well done What a good job there. See you soon Alan C

went here with my mum and sis for a meal after shopping must say excellent food my omelette was lovely and you cant beat real chips fantastic x

Went to 'What' to do some shopping, saw the What! Cafe and went for a coffee but looking at the menu decided to have a meal. We decided on the breakfast which was excellent, freshly made, sausage, bacon, beans, tomato, egg, mushrooms, hash brown and toast £3.99, drink included, large had 2 of everything for £4.95, ex large 3 of everything £6.99 there was also a large choice of other meals. Service was excellent and quick. Staff only to pleased to help. Cafe was very clean. Highly recommended if you want a good meal.

Went here for lunch with my daughter, lovely clean place with lovely food and good portion size. Nice to have a bite to eat in between shopping

We visited this cafe after not being able to find an eating venue in the area that was not full,due to it being half term. it was busy but not overflowing so there was no queue. The cafe is spacious with excellent access for people who have double buggies or wheelchairs. It was bright and airy which was very welcome in the recent hot weather and the back doors opened onto the garden center with all it's colours and aromas. The staff were very helpful and friendly,going that extra mile to provide us with an excellent salad at a very reasonable price. The chef that day even came out to ask us if we wanted any specific additions to what was already a substantial meal. The whole experience was a pleasant and unexpected surprise in this little industrial area of Aberaman.

Came here for lunch today (13/4/2018). We sat at a table and had crumbs and bits of food on it and was very sticky when moved to a table which was a bit better but still sticky. We ordered a cappuccino and a tango and two jacket potatoes. My husband waited for about ten minutes for his coffee. When I got the cutlery which were In a tray I had to pick out the dirty ones which I left to the side before finding clean ones maybe more hygienic if cutlery was brought to you rather then all customers dirty fingers in the tray. We then waited about twenty minutes for our jacket potatoes, they weren’t very hot if anything just warm I had cheese and beans and the cheese hadn’t even melted with the beans on top. They were placed in bowls which I felt if they were just on the plate you would of got more filling in them, my potato was very dry as I got through it as beans weren’t able to get to the bottom because there wasn’t enough room for the beans as the bowl was stopping this I felt maybe a choice of butter may of helped. My husband said his potato was burnt at the bottom but only luke warm which makes us think it was sat around whilst maybe finishing other orders! Whilst waiting around I noticed even though it wasn’t overly busy tables weren’t cleared straight away and when they were the girl clearing them would tidy the table but not wipe them over. I noticed people waiting for a good five minutes as all staff were round the back surely someone should be out front at all times. A gentleman came in with his family who I assumed worked there wrote his own order and took it out to the kitchen surely when not in work this shouldn’t be allowed for health and safety reasons!! I also used the loo which was dirty, urine on the seat and floor and very dirty looking. I think an hourly check on this loo with a sign on the door to show this has been done will help. I was very surprised this had a five star rating but could be a very nice cafe if these problems were fixed as has great potential.

Called into what to look through the christmas section, stopped off in the cafe for a coffee and cake, very nice, pleasant surrounding especially all lit up for christmas, nice friendly staff too, well worth a visit and soon the christmas sale will be in full swing too.

Had a few meals here now and every occasion very good. Nice staff, food hot and fresh and pleasant surroundings. Breakfast particularly good.

Known of What the store for some years, but this new larger store with the what cafe is incredible. It's now one of our regular stores and cafe. The restaurant café I give full marks as staff are the best I have seen. Very well managed, clean and Tidy. The food quality extremely well presented and good. Favourite place for a coffee now. Highly recommended and told many friends to pop in. Well done to the owners for such a magnificent competitive operation.

Went to What last week and noticed a new cafe there.Wow!!! The decor is superb - main cafe area all wooded (very nice indeed) and then a veranda outside, also wooded, where you can sit whilst overlooking the large range of flowers. I could've been on holiday, certainly didn't feel like I was in Aberdare! Very nice coffee and cake together with a nice lady who served me. Well done What! My wife who's a bit fussy - even she was impressed, so it's got to be a good place! Plus - they do vegetarian food! I'm very impressed and will definitely be visiting a lot more.

Called in to this cafe after doing a bit of shopping around the What Store and wasn't disappointed. Lovely place with really tasty and generous meals.

We visited after a long shop in What. There was plenty of room for us to leave our trolley which was handy. I had a chicken burger and my partner had a beef burger, both came with coleslaw, salad, onion rings and REAL HOMEMADE chips! Both meals were lovely and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was friendly, the decor and layout was fab and the food came out very quickly. Would definitely reccomend.
