Good honest consistent food and service. It's not high brow but the portions are very generous and nicely cooked. I've tried all Chineses in Whitchurch and this is the best.

Wan Loy has really good food and my husband and I think it’s the best Chinese restaurant in Whitchurch the only down side to this restaurant is they tell you a delivery time e.g an hour but it end up being longer and then when you phone they apologise. Which is fine but they should not be giving a time if then it’s going to be longer. They should say they don’t have a estimated time or if it’s going to be later phone/text the customer to let them know

Terrible service with attitude from staff overcharged me and refused to refund food was terrible would not feed to my dog

We ate in the ‘restaurant’ last night and it was a comedy from start to finish! No soup, no chicken satay sticks, no crispy lamb. Worse to come….one of our party sat on a chair that broke underneath them and they fell back missing their head on the table behind them by millimetres. Staff said I’ll fetch you another chair! No apologies nothing! Young inexperienced cocky staff who had zero customer service. No idea how to wait on tables and as I was seated near the kitchen entrance I spent all night passing food plates and drinks down the table. Avoid at all costs!

Good delivery time - food was piping hot. Very helpful delivery driver regarding payment. Would order again!

Was told half hour to collect, got there and waited another 30 mins for our food. Then with orders stocking up for at least 20 to 30 people, they continued to take orders making it worse. It wasn't particularly hot. Ordered a chicken chow mein and got pork. The spring rolls were really salty, unedible salty. The service was shocking, we were just left with no idea what was happening with our food. Won't be going back.

Had a really nice meal and the service was excellent. Would not hesitate to return! We had no complaints at all and look forward to returning to try other things on the menu. Thanks guys.

Well whots wrong with you people, do you all eat at the ritz normally, don't think so, or you wouldn't be coming here, it's a buffet restaurant served by the take away next door as if you didn't know , it's fantastic value hot plentiful, service great for a small resteraunt, and for £10-50 , to £14 a head eat whot you like, how mutch you like , the best value around why is it always full midweek as well as weekend's, bit of jealousy me thinks enjoy you certainly will.

Went in tonight and asked for vegetable spring rolls. Without knowing, we were given chicken ones and didn’t realise until my vegetarian housemate took a bite and they tasted different. Very careless and when we rung up nobody seemed to care. Even the girl using the till told us she hadn’t used it before. Disgraceful!!!

Food was ok, but whole thing was overshadowed by the disrespectful, rude young blonde haired girls working there with a face on her like she didn’t want to do or bring you anything (also called me a dick) when she was in the back and didn’t think I could hear her

Just ordered a take away from wan loy. The duck was freezing cold and chips were soggy. Won’t be eating here again

Tonight,28 aug, got a takeaway for myself and elderly parents as a treat. We never go for a takeaway, and after this, never again. Tasted like a greedy rubber duck. Horrible.

Fairly convenient location, but parking can be problamatic in the early evening. Usual Chinese menu, but quite a good selection of dishes. price is average for this type of venue.

Went for a meal with my family, the service was spot on and food came on time. We enjoyed the buffet they had to offer which allowed us to eat as much as we can for a set price! We even ordered a takeaway from them the next day, delivered right to the door!

Very good service by the family owned business and the food is very tasty I would reckon to other people 🥢

I've reported this disgrace of a restaurant after my daughter found a USED tooth pick in her food. Complained to the manager and I was begged not to report them to environmental health and if I promised this wouldn't happen then I could have free food........ free food ha ha you couldn't pay me to eat here ever again. Let's see how environmental health gets on

This must be one fo the very worse places I have ever eaten in. It's cold and miserable and the staff are young, inexperienced and lack friendlyness. The food was iffy and had that strange taste that you get with warmed up food - food that has been cooked, left and then warmed up again.The yeung chow rice had 'things' in it that were strange and non-food like. I'm sure it was edible but no thanks! Disgusiting.Toitally lacking in flavour and quality and I would certainly avoid.

The menu is very limited, and poor. There is no menu outside, so once you are through the door, one feels obliged to try the food.The waitress who served us was sullen and unhelpful.The starters were dripping with fat, and stodgy, not light and as crispy as other restaurants. The main meal was plentiful, and the sides were too, but it was all so salty that I began to feel ill.I asked for a jug of water and was met with a glass poured from a bottle in the fridge. I asked whether it was tap water as I do not pay for water, as it should be free with meals. We were then charged £1 on our bill as we were informed it had been filtered- if they do that with all customers, they must be raking it in.The interior of this place is shoddy amd gloomy, and it lowers the mood. We shall definitely not eat there again and I would advise others against it.

We love meeting here for our treat. Meet friends often here, in fact was there last night. the food is always wonderful.

Llamó en un orden y me dijeron 15 minutos a recoger. Esperamos 30 minutos y vimos por lo menos 3 personas a pie en orden sobre el mostrador, conseguir su comida y salir. Una hora más tarde finalmente conseguir algo de comida. Ni siquiera es tan genial. No eran aún lo siento y nos cobró por el placer! !Prueba Swallow o simplemente tailandés - este sitio es una basura.

No puedo criticar la calidad de la comida, especialmente por 12.50 libras por persona en el fin de semana para todo lo que pueda comer. El pollo y el maíz de sopa es tan buena como en cualquier otro sitio que he probado. Los precios de los niños son demasiado altos. 3-7 años pagar £7.50. Nuestro hijo es 5 y lo he disfrutado de la sopa, pero no pagar por una sopa. Pd: no es llamado, ya Loy Whan es Bauhinia.

Chicken curry should have chicken in it this chicken curry was the frozen chicken that tastes watery and not like chicken something else like beef might be better but when curry for 3 is nearly £20 it needs to be half decent

i took 3 mates here on Saturday night.Usually the take away is excellent but oh dear! 45 minute wait after deep fried starters ,then one portion before 20 minutes for the others.No deserts- no reduction on bill .Completely awful .Waitress tried but hopelessly understaffed in kitchen -and only 4 covers to serve-excuse -too may take aways but if cannot cope why offer a sit down service?

Had a lovely young man at the counter, he was absolutely brilliant when giving me information about the food available and the prices. I would definitely go there again!.

My husband and I went here last night and will definitely be going back! The restaurant is on a little high-street next to a takeaway. I had the all you can eat buffet menu being a Chinese food lover and was so happy with the choices of appetizers, the peanut skewers were amazing! I couldn't manage more than one main but the kin do beef I had was perfect. All the dishes were good sized portions piping hot and bought to the table fast and fresh rather than a serve yourself type buffet. And my husband said his beef chowmein was perfect also. We will be regulars I`m sure.

Best restaurant in town staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is always spot on, the Szechuan king prawn is my favourite and always cooked just right

Have used this for many years. The food has had on and off spells!!! Also lots of wrong orders!!. Usually all apologetic and carry on!!! Tonight.s meal was awful at best comment. Am sure the chow mein fell in the sink of soap suds. Will not both driving into town and back to pay for this again. What a shame ...time for a shake up there

We enjoy the 'eat all you want' £10.50 option. The beauty of this is everything is freshly cooked as you order it. None of the lukewarm food hanging around in bain maries for hours! There is a good selection of starters which includes crispy roast duck and pancakes which is a huge portion, king prawn toasts which are the best i've ever eaten, ribs,satay chicken ,sweet and sour chicken balls (yummy) and lots more. The mains ask you to choose a meat/fish and veg/sauce and choice of rice. The portions are good and you can just keep ordering as long as you eat what you have ordered, you will be charged if you waste food unecessarily. This isn't the height of chinese cookery ,but its good food, freshly cooked and great value, the staff are unfailingly polite and helpful . You even get a fortune cookie and warm towel to wipe your handsat the end of the meal. Why bother having a takeaway when you can eat out and dont even have to wash up. Brill!
