Fantastic.had my birthday meal here .there was 8 of us and everyone loved it .place was spotless .service was excellent. And the food was amazing .definatly be returning

It's probably the best Cantonese food takeaway in and around Oswestry. Steve at the counter is an absolute legend and practised my few words of Chinese Mandarin on him and got taught how to say these properly. My set dinner for one person was absolutely delicious and so well served and worth it. 谢谢 thank you, Steve, and definitely be back for more!

Ordered online for home delivery. Even picked a time slot. Food didn’t arrive. When I called they said they don’t deliver. It is advertised online. Then they charged 4.95 to send it by cab. 😬

In Oswestry for a family visit, and wanted a Chinese. The food was luke warm and not much taste to the chilli king prawns.

Can't say much about it. I ordered online but that did not work so I rang them and placed my order. I was told what the price was and that it would be due on collection. I drove into Oswestry to collect the takeaway. The girl behind the counter asked for the money and I got my mobile phone out. She then told me it was cash only. I said I should have been told that when I rang the order in and walked out.

Always been nice from here until now. Cold, tasteless and no more free prawn crackers

This used to be an OK Chinese but we had our last 3 (THREE) takeaways from here. Food was awful 3rd (THIRD) time in a row now no 4th chance at keeping our custom. Definitely avoid this place!!!

Jolly Garden has easily the best Cantonese food in Shropshire. The food was prepared quickly and tasted amazing with no food missing or not what we expected. The young girl behind the desk was very kind and helped answer some questions I had about the food on the menu. But the main reason I believe they have the best Cantonese food in Shropshire is the lack of msg resulting in each dish tasting different and smelling beautiful.

Used to have really nice food from here, always hot and tasty. The last couple of times we’ve had food from here it’s been very poor.

Meal was lovely a big issue we had was we ordered 1 portion of duck spring rolls for me and 1 of vegetable spring rolls for my friend who is vegetarian and both rolls had meat in them. Which my friend really wasn't happy about as she had started eating it when she realised resulting in her buying something that went straight in the bin.

We are still in a global pandemic! I ordered my food at 6:50pm. I was told to collect it at 7:35pm. I actually got my food at 8:32pm, so was kept waiting for best part of an hour and when I got home the battered chicken I had ordered for my autistic child was nothing more than batter scraps with cold chips and they have the audacity to charge £4.40 for the privilege! First time I have been there. Will NOT be going back. No apology. I'd say they're are a joke, but it was not funny!

Food is always amazing but to wait 25 minutes after your collection time to be told it will be another 25 mins no apology and walk ins getting served befor me.. That kind of service is 3rd rate!

Called for takeaway at 6:15pm told 40 min wait got their for 6:50 went in girl took money no communication to say they were running late. Waited till 7:10 went and asked the girl how long the food was going to be was told 5-10 minutes. Another 5-10 mins passed, 15-20 mins passed finally at 7:40 my name was shouted for my food. If I hadn’t of paid for I would of walked. Food was alright definitely not worth the extra 45 mins waiting in the cold for.

Last minute decision yesterday to get a takeaway from here - so glad we did! The food was not greasy at all, the portions were decent and just generally lovely food! Definitely recommend!

Having placed our order and given an hour to prepare we arrived at the takeaway yo collect our meal only to wait a further 30 minutes after the agreed time, no apologies, all we got when we asked how long was it’s coming soon.. people came, people went. We arrived home and the food was cold.. so obviously customer retention isn’t part of this takeaways new year strategy. I’m sure our custom will be welcomed elsewhere.

We are new to living in Oswestry and have just been unfortunate to order from this place. We collected our £36.40 order. Arrived home snd fished out to our family, 2 adults 5 children. I took a spoonful of the Chicken Red Curry and immediately spat it out. The chicken was borderline at best cooked, many pieces were still pretty much pink. I put it back in the container and made the journey back to the takeaway. Totally shocked at they’re response. He automatically offered my £4.80 back, without checking. I had to demand him to speak to the chef to check, not seeming bothered, the young lad reluctantly took it thru the dodgy door into the kitchen. He came back out and said, yes, it’s undercooked and handed me £4.80 again. Not good enough in my opinion as it seemed to be brushed under the carpet.

I thought the food was quite nice. Better than most I have tasted back home. Simple menu. Simple food. Good to see Covid 19 measures in place like phoning your order in. Good work Jolly Garden.

I have been ordering from Jolly Garden since it opened, nowhere else in town compares its the best Chinese food by far.Food is always hot and fresh with generous portions.

Ordered a meal online, waited 40 minutes for delivery and no show, phoned up only to be told that they don't deliver. Stay away !!!!

We have used Jolly Garden for 3 years and only just left a review! I love the website which allows you to get points with each order which works out 10% off and you can cash in points in £5 or £10 credits! The barbecued ribs are to die for. The king prawn with ginger and spring onions a definite recommendation and the portions are extremely generous across the whole range. Speedy too. The quality is always consistent and the price is incredible for all the aforementioned reasons! Would love to see a delivery service!!

Absolute worst rubbish I have ever been served. They should go round the corner to Golden City and buy one of their specials to see how things are done. I will NEVER use Jolly Garbage again.

Best Cantonese take away around

Apparently this is the best in oswestry... i am sad for oswestry... the veg was overcooked, the 'gravy' of the chowmein had sunk to the bottom... the noodles tasted like sink water... and the chicken was super chewy... stick to thai food and go to tams instead!

The food at this takeaway is very good, full of flavour and always tastes fresh. There are several takeaways in Oswestry and the surrounding villages, but none are as good as Jolly Garden. They state that the food does not contain MSGs, and it is notable in the taste of the food that it does NOT taste like your average junk-food Chinese takeaway, it is miles better.

Best take away in town no msg fresh food and always hot ... love it

This is a fabulous take away, with very polite staff. With an excellent choice of food available. Appropriate sized meals with choice of small or large!

We had been loyal to another restaurant but they failed to answer the phone so we tried this one and we were pleasantly surprised

Had had plenty of takeaways from the Jolly Garden and have enjoyed every one. The best takeaway in the town, good sized portions, very tasty well priced. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing Chinese food, fresh hot and yummy.

Ordered at 19:00 on Saturday night and was told food would be 45 minutes. By 20:25 still being told food would be another 10 minutes. At 20:45 was again told it would be 10 minutes so we ask for our money back at which point we were told they would do it now and knock £10. Got our money back and left and went to the chippy. Lots of angry customers tonight.

First and last time I'll use this takeaway. Awful.

Quite simply the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. I could not eat it. Do not go there! We ordered 3 different meals from there and they were equally terrible.

3 of us ordered a range of dishes. We chose the Jolly Garden because they don't use MSG. Our food was delicious and there was a lot of it! It was also hot and the person who served us was lovely. Will definitely return.

No crudos, pero fuera de fecha y pasados. Era absolutamente repugnante!Luego para rematar, mi otra mitad ordenados pollo arroz frito, sólo para encontrar un pedazo de cerdo endurecidas que parecía casi como sacudidas de alguna forma hizo su camino hacia su comida.Contaminación accidental cruce es potencialmente forgivable solos. Pero ciertamente no es pollo nulas.Es una pena, pero nunca se pide de nuevo.

Cuidador de nuestro hijo nos recomendaron. He probado dos veces y en ambas ocasiones ha sido excelente, buenas porciones y más barato que en otro lugar. Se preparan comidas no usando polvo msa. No es un problema para mí, pero sé que la gente que es para ellos. A través de dicho orden y llamamos que estaría lista en 15 minutos y estaba empaquetado y listo para la colección.Familia y amigos lo clasificó y extra dos veces allí era suficiente para 3 personas al día siguiente.

the menu offers some different dishes from the standard chines menu. prices are average but reasonable and the chinese lady who serves you is lovely and friendly. we look forward to seeing her son who is so cute and loves to play with you once he gets to know you. the food is great and generous portions. not greasy at all. our favourite chinese in Oswestry.

Siempre ha sido un cliente leal, servicio rápido y confiable. No esta ocasión. Orden de dieron equivocado parecía correcto que después de esperar en la barra para 15 minutos de arroz en orden, y luego regresar a casa para encontrar la casa curry especial fue pollo, panecillo y basura. Got a take a way the order was taken quickly and sat and waited for the meal. Got home the pancake was to die for great same for the ribs. The pancake rolled was horrible and went in the bin. The main course was ok not the best to be honest

What a find,lovely food,really well cooked,not greasy like some chinese take aways.loads of choice,cooked quickly.

We regularly use this chinese takeaway and have not been disappointed. We are vegetarian and find the choice is very good. Sometimes in other takeaways we find the vegetarian meals are too sloppy but this is not the case here. We particularly like the Mushroom Curry. Prices are good too.

After our recent dismay at the collapse of the Dragon King in Shrewsbury we decided upon a take away and our usual had a 1.5 hour waiting time. So it was time to try a new take away and the Jolly Garden was our choice.The waiting area is clean and does not fall into the usual clichés. The staff friendly and the menu comprehensive. Food is provided in plastic tubs and there was plenty of it.It is beautifully cooked, very tasty, not greasy and no MSG evident. We will definitely be back to the Jolly Garden to try some new tastes from their menu. Delicious!!

I went in last Thursday after ordering a take away via phone. The gentleman on the phone was very pleasant and they made our food quickly- within 20 minutes. The service was very good and I left with my box of food, and they had chucked in a bag of prawn crackers and a big bottle of coke for free. We had bought quite a lot between us- 1/4 of a duck and pancakes, pork chow mein (they have the option whether you want it dry or normal which is good), special chow mein and rice, chips and chips and gravy, and two portions of soup. It came to around £30 altogether, which is good considering we had two specials and duck. The only thing I would say was all of the rice and chow mein was about £5, it is definitely worth it considering the ingredients but I know other Chinese/Cantonese's are cheaper in Oswestry. The place looked clean and fresh. I then tasted the food- wow! The soup was lovely and stayed hot for nearly an hour, as well as the rest of our food. It's so nice to have something from a takeaway that isn't greasy and extremely salty. Everything was really tasty and the duck wasn't dry at all. It also came with fresh cucumber and hoi sin sauce. The spring onions were ok. I will DEFINITELY be coming here again. I am so pleased I gave this take away a go, after being put off the greasy take away Cantonese take aways here. I would even prefer to come here than to go to China Palace which is a proper restaurant! If you want fresh, delicious, great food then go to Jolly Garden. Cannot be beaten in my opinion.

This is by a long shot the best Chinese take away in Oswestry. Don't go anywhere else. I had the crispy duck and shredded beef. My sister had the Thai Green Curry. Both were excellent. The Thai curry especially was very fragrant and authentic tasting. I'm not sure I believe in the theory that MSG is bad for you but one thing is for sure; you don't need it to make delicious Chinese food.

Because my body doesn't tolerate MSG and it's ubiquitous at most Asian restaurants, in the past 8 years I had only eaten Chinese food that we cook at home. Then Jolly Garden opened. No MSG! Of course we had to try it.The food is just right, portions ample and prices very reasonable. We can get one dish (our favourite is king prawn chow mein, dry) and one starter (vegetable pancakes--think 4 spring rolls and you've got the idea) to fill us both for less than £8. This is now our first choice for takeaway.It's across the street from the small Red Square car park. Currently parking is usually free there after 18:00. Around the corner behind Argos, parking is free on Sunday.

Turned into our local now, good menu and varied dishes plus they always drop in a few free items like drinks /crackers. Tried all the local takeaways and this is our favourite.

This is a takeaway Cantonese restaurant. It provides good portions for a reasonable price, in a clean and efficient environment.

The duck and pork dish with egg fried rice only had 4 pieces of each meat, the pork in plum sauce wasn't in anything that actually tasted of plum, and the egg fried rice was extremely bland. I would not recommend.
