bit disappointing sorry, chow mein was cold and needed to be heated up that isn’t a problem, it was the Chinese chicken curry that did it (although the sauce was palatable not great but ok) the actual chicken itself was just extremely watery, stringy tasted like it had been defrosted or the cheapest water based chicken available, had to be thrown out as I couldn’t face eating it disappointing Chinese.

Our favourite Chinese takeaway food shop. The portions are very generous and the chips are the best in town. The 'set meal for 2' will usually feed 4 people.

Ordered and paid for a fried rice dish with an extra of curry sauce and a main meal with fried rice. Got home - no rice accompaniment for main meal. Found owner very abrupt and unhelpful

Really disappointed again with a takeaway that is lackadaisical with fulfilling a customer order. Got home and wife not happy as they got her order completely wrong. Not impressed. She ordered special fried rice with king prawns and got basic egg fried rice. We got some brown dish various beef and duck and prawn which we didn't order. I'm Hindu and don't eat beef. The food was average. I was disgusted by the fact they have a sign in reception saying 'CASH ONLY'. I pay my taxes so why can't they.

I have never had a bad meal from here, it's always excellent quality and always very delicious. The staff are always so friendly too and extremely welcome

We had this as a group of 8 and were fairly impressed. Good portion sizes. My szechuan chicken was cracking. My wife wasn't thrilled by the lemon chicken, nor my grandad by the sweet and sour. And I couldn't quite believe nothing was labeled. It was quite the faff working out what was what. But the prawn crackers were plentiful and perfect, the egg fried rice was sufficient. It was okay. Label up the pots and work on a couple of the flavours and it could be 5 stars.

Had to wait 90 mins and that's 30 mins longer than they said ! if they had told us that we would not have ordered Nice food but we will not be going again

I have to say this was a very average Chinese take away. The Salt and pepper chicken didn't taste of much and was very dry. The S&P wings also didn't taste of anything. Will not be going back..

This place would never survive in a more built up area with some competition. Poor food and seriously rude staff. Worth the effort to travel further afield for better quality and to avoid the condescending guy over the phone with the major attitude problem.

On holiday in the area. Placed order over phone as a large order for 17 people. Friendly lady took order and when we got to shop to collect the friendly service continued. Food was hot, really tasty and commented on by everyone. Highly recommended

Horrible staff and Disgusting food. Went in to complain about previous meal I had bought, which was hard and dried up. I had to throw it away.Very rude Staff member admitted that they did warm food up from day before, and cannot guarantee that it would be fresh. Customers please BEWARE Before you end up with food poison.

Best Chinese around. We travel from Whitchurch as it's just the nicest one . Chicken in lemon sauce is to die for. The chips are amazing. Lovely staff always a pleasure to go there. A****

Followed the recommendations and took a take away back to the boat. Had to wait a long time for it, which was fine, however it was quite expensive. Lots of food, but it really wasn’t great. Chow mien was particular disappointing and tasteless. Rally wouldn’t recommend.

Just to reiterate what the previous reviewer said and say what a great meal we had from New Wan Loy last night. The food was very tasty and hot. We particularly liked the special fried rice with extra prawns and meat.

Enjoyed a lovely meal of fillet beef with rice. Excellent the best I have eaten. X

on the canals for a weeks boating and stopped off for the night for a chinese. despite what previous what previous reviewers had said. Glad we went there, what a meal, piping hot, freshly cooked, and very large portions,will def be back

We ordered a takeaway from here whilst visiting Ellesmere last weekend. Food took a long time to cook and was bland and tasteless when we got it. As the title states it was the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever wasted money on!

Chicken balls were rock solid, curry had been defrosted and had water on top, chowmein was stodgy with tough beef, chips OK. Would have gone back in their face if we weren't hungry. Possibly the worst meal I've had for a long time. If only I could rate zero starts.

Probably one of the best take a ways I have come across the menu is a pleasure to read and you will not be disappointed with the quality of food . The staff and service was excellent.Wish this was located in my home town.

Ordered on the 20/9/18 Ordered for the 1st time and was not good I had salt and pepper chicken which was cold as it was put in a polystyrene box also tasteless, egg fried rice had no egg, gravy was watery. Do not do salt and pepper chips but the chips where good to be fair so this is why it’s 1 out of 5. Also over priced will definitely not be using there service again

Excellent food and freshly prepared. Generous portions so set meal for five easily fed six adults. Only downside was they don't deliver so someone had to drive to village to pick up.

Saw some bad reviews but tried in anyway. I thought it was fantastic. The sweet and sour chicken was excellent with lovely light coating. Great portion sizes too. They don’t take cards so remember to take cash.

Service shocking, I'm guessing meals are frozen before hand and reheated as they can't tell you if there are any allergens and they're not able to make a basic dish like a pork & beef curry as its not on the menu. Certainly would avoid as its not the best tasting food anyway. There is a perfectly good Chinese around the corner

The food is lovely, but the owner is dam rude to the point where I was almost crying. I enquired about the plain noodles and his reply made me feel so thick. Not a nice person at all. It's mainly female customers he does this to.

Very friendly staff n free crackers but the special fried rice was just full of veg, mean with the meat.

We were living in the woodland lodges for the weekend and decided to order in one evening. We originally decided to order from here so we placed a phone order... firstly we were not made aware that the service was collection only then we were also quoted £60 for our order which was way over priced after we worked it out ourselves. Also our phone reception in the lodges wasnt great but when we were placing the order.. the staff over the phone were extremely rude! We were spoken to like children and also yelled at! disgusting service!

Usually use other Chinese in Ellesmere but ended up at this one lateish on Sunday night after hospital visit delay. Two dishes very tasty and generally good quality though chow mein needed more veggies we thought? Beef in Black Bean Sauce scrumptious! Certainly worth getting a take away here again!

Almost totally ignored in virtually empty restaurant- made worse by taking friends there." All you can eat"buffet - but no desserts at all. 45 minute wait between starter and some main couses ( not all!) .no reasons given -apart from "very busy in take away section - so why bother to have a sit down section. No discount for unfinished meal .Despite giving them my trade weekly for 6 years I won't be going there again.

I'm looking at my previous review and wondering what's gone wrong. Were we just unlucky? Has it been taken over? Whatever the reason, our last takeaway was very poor indeed. The spring rolls were much smaller and undercooked. That said, they were the best part of the meal. My beef with mushrooms had a tasteless watery sauce and virtually no beef. My husband's curry was also tasteless and watery with very few prawns. The rice was stodgy and definitely not egg fried rice. We won't be going there again.

Tried this for the first time and must admit the uninviting exterior and waiting area nearly put us off. Ordered a range of dishes for 4 people. Huge portions and delicious. Some of the best beef I've had in a Chinese takeaway dish.

This take away gives huge portions so it is excellent value for money a meal for two will feed 4-5 people

One of two Chinese takeaways in Ellesmere. We have yet to sample the other one. From a very extensive menu, we chose prawn crackers, sweet and sour king prawn balls, pork with green pepper and black bean sauce, egg fried rice and beansprouts. We didn't phone in advance because at that stage we didn't have menus. I would definitely recommend that you phone your order through, because we had to wait for 20 minutes, even though there were only two other customers. This would tend to suggest that the food was freshly cooked, not merely reheated. However, it was worth the wait. The food was traditional Chinese takeaway food, very tasty and large portions. My prawn balls looked overcooked, but in fact the prawns inside were succulent and juicy. Unlike a lot of other establishments, I didn't get a bad reaction, which suggests they don't overdo the MSG. We had more than enough food and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We would not hesitate to go there again. Please note they do not take cards - cash and cheques only - but the nearby Co-op late shop has a cash machine, as does the bank just around the corner. As is usual with takeaways, they are closed on Monday evenings. Last orders are 15 minutes before closing time at 11.00pm.
