WGC Grill & Pizza in Welwyn Hatfield

Been going here for years love the guys in there they’re lovely guys but everytime I order a pizza I always ask for it to be well done. Ordered one tonight asked for it to be well done turns up and most of the cheese wasn’t even melted properly. The dough is always undercooked had to put it in the over for 15 minutes just to get it cooked. If your prices are going to go up you really need the quality of the food to go up too.

Well that’s a shame , was missing something in my order and got told on the phone my wife is a lier ???? Great customer service . Always big tip , won’t be going there again .

We are regular customers. We can recommend all the kebabs (especially kofte), burgers, pizzas and fries.

I brought something today 25th September, ate my chicken strips and 20 mins later spewed my dinner up seriously gone down the shitter

This was my first time getting a takeaway from here but my partner usually orders from here. It had to be the worst takeaway I’ve ever had. The chicken was average and came saturated in sauce. The pitta was cold and barely toasted. The salad was a sloppy mess and looked like someone had thrown up in the box. The only positive were the chips. Awful place.

A little dissapointing! I have been ordering here from some time and most of the time they are spot on but unfortunalty, this time I was missing all salad from my 2 kebabs and the 2 large chips appear to have shrunk from the last time I ordered!

Pizza is not good at all. Double pepporni and double cheese it says but there isnt even enough cheese to cover the whole pizza and the dough sucks. The shawarma is decent

I have ordered from here many times for years .. the food was excellent quality and delicious in the past with good portions, now for some reason the quality has gone downhill.. the chicken used to be amazing and now its so so nothing special anymore. It used to be reliable and my go to kebab but now I think I'll find a better place as for the past 2 orders I haven't enjoyed my meal. The service is still great though

Just a recommendation to amend the closing hours on a Thursday. Came in at 23:45 and rather sternly said "only burgers'. I get it was late but you should be able to serve advertised foods until closing

Probably the best Chicken Shish kebab I have ever had. Fantastically fresh ingredients and healthy portions.

Unfortunately, me and my friend got food poisoning from the kebab. We got a lamb donner wrap, one to share on Wed 30/08. The next day I couldn't go to work coz I was sick from morning till night, vomitting. My friend wasn't very good too. But not as bad as me. I try not to get donner as I know that big chunk of meat gets frozen and defrosted multiple times. Learned once more, I lost the respect for the place as selling food to people , hygiene is basic principle. No matter the price.

Seems quite expensive for what is basically a kebab House. Chicken shish was ok, Chips were fresh. Cash only which these days is pretty iffy.

Placed an order for one chicken wrap and a donner wrap to get home and discover they have given us two lamb. Sub optimal and it isn't cheap at £7.50 a pop. They admitted their mistake when I called but too late and not worth getting a taxi back into town to rectify. Double check guys before you leave the shop they have actually given you what you ordered!

It's wasn't bad. But then it wasn't exactly great either. I was shocked at the prices. However I didn't have anything else in the area to compare them to as where I live the price of what I ordered is £9 not £14. The portion size did not warrant the price they charge for a mixed Kebab. That said the staff were friendly and service was efficient.

I’ve taken all the stars away because the quality of their food has dropped off a cliff over the last little while. I was already frustrated by the fact that they didn’t seem to know what a deep crust pizza was, the options you get on the website are deep crust, thin crust or stuffed crust. I always order deep crust, I always get thin crust. But it wasn’t too much of a problem because it was always tasty. The last straw was tonight. I ordered a deep crust vegetarian pizza, I got an undercooked thin crust vegetarian. I also ordered a chicken burger with lettuce and cucumber, I got an undercooked chicken burger, slapped into a bun with a splurge of mayonnaise, and the chips I got with it were so soggy they just couldn’t be eaten. So, if you’re looking for something hot, tasty and cooked properly, look somewhere else because this isn’t the place for that anymore.

Looked ok so I ordered a kebab and chips, and said i'll be back in a sec, just nipping to Sainsburys for some beers. On my return about 7 or 8 mins later I presented my card only for the guy to say "CASH ONLY, NO CARD". I replied "no sale, stick it up your ar$e". How the hell can the local council allow this?? Obviously this is money laundering, tax avoidance/evasion or whatever. This is three or four businesses in WGC thst do the 'cash only' thing, and are all of the same ilk, namely Turkish. Needs to stop as very unfair on decent hardworking TAX PAYING businesses locally. I only hope a local councillor sees this. If not they will be reported in the new year. Ho ho ho

I am a regular customer of this kebab shop, and I always find there food to be lovely, but it’s ridiculous now that they have put the prices up, so for that reason I gave 3 stars, so now I go elsewhere for a kebab that is cheaper, I hope that wgc read these comments and just maybe think about lowering the prices abit to make it more affordable to enjoy a takeout As I do like this place and it’s a shame that I can’t go here more often!

best kebabs in Welwyn Garden City

Would give zero stars.if possible. Ordered 3.small shish kebabs only.i to have to chilli sauce and a large doner. Ended up with 3 small -2 doused in chilli as to be inedible and a large shish. My daughter had to throw hers away as it was too hot and it was uncomfortable to eat. Hardly any salad which might have helped with the heat. Reading through these reviews it looks as if the staff can deal with a verbal cash order but online or telephone order by card and they cannot deliver.....literally. a lot of money to spend on something that was done wrong. Cannot help thinking they don't want your card orders

I had large chicken shish cooked on grill for £8.80. I liked the kebab and the price is relatively cheap.

Stopped off here late last night after a trip up London. Ordered a Chicken Shish wrap for the wife and a 1/2lb Cheeseburger and chips for myself. Both were delicious and as we ate them in the takeaway very fresh. The guy who served us a cooked our meal was friendly so it was a nice way to end our evening.

On Friday night 07/08/21, I ordered 1 large chicken shish, 1 small lamb shish, I large kofte kebab and a diet coke, (£23.80) for collection. The shishs were freshly grilled whereas the kofte kabab was not fresh at all it was cooked hours ago, it had a dark colour and very hard, it was just put back on the grill for reheat and sold to me. As I was on my break time I couldn't return the kofte kebab and I put it in the bin and stayed with no food and I feel being robbed. Will never set foot again in this shop.

Rude angry manager the guy that runs this place has proper anger management issues. Ignored for 15 mins until I asked for service he started throwing boxes about and slamming food and muttering away to himself after I received my food advised that cash only. Very Covid-19 friendly explained didn’t have cash and just walked out

Best kabab in town highly recommended

Ordered online for delivery 20/08 - very fast service and hot. Chicken wrap with lettuce, cucumber and garlic sauce (tasty decent chunks of chicken) Pepperoni pizza with stuffed crust and potato wedges (both excellent - wedges got a big thumbs up) I’ve ordered delivery in the past and have never been disappointed with their wraps - chips could be better. Would recommend over other fast food places in town. Score 8/10

Latest kebab I ordered had human hair in with it which I was close to eating! This was a nasty surprise. Would not recommend anymore, used to be a half decent takeaway.

I have been eating the pizza here for years. Even before it was in this location. I have never had a bad meal. The meat feast is awsome and the garlic bread is amazing. Trust me this is my favourite for a reason. Best pizza in Hertfordshire by far

Arrived home in welwyn tonight after a Christmas drink and thought I would support a local business rather than going to dominos over the road. Went into the shop on my own and was ready to order when a group of 5 young partygoers came in. I was totally ignored and their orders were taken. I waited patiently only to see a couple walk in and have THEIR order taken as well. I walked out and ordered a pizza to be delivered home from dominos instead. What this shop doesn't realise is that I was the customer who ordered over £60 of food to my home in december and gave a generous tip with every delivery. Well done.....you just lost a customer. Rude doesn't even cover it. Disgusting.

Best kebab grill I’ve found locally. My lamb shish was nice and tender and not tough or chewy. Could be a little cheaper but I’d recommend the place.

Had our 2nd order from here tonight. And all I can say is pretty much the best kebab in this area by far. Meat was tender and tasty.. chilli sauce is on par doesn't over power the flavour of the rest. Salad is as fresh as it gets. Thankyou will continue to order.

Good quality kebabs and generous portions of salad open till late. They only accept cash which is the only downside.

Regular customers. The food is always hot, the food taste fresh. The cheesy garlic bread is a win every time. Delivery drivers always friendly. Recommend

Really good food but wish they opened earlier

Husband looking forward to a nice kebab. Thought it was 1st April and it was a joke. Told delivery in 30 minutes, an hour later, phoned he said definitely on way. Arrived cold and congealed. Mark up to experience, only order if you like cold congealed food. One to avoid.

Ordered 2 Combination Kebabs with every thing, when I got home I found that they were dripping fat, the Doner meat was soft and tasteless, the Shish was so tough it was inedible, there was a lack of chillie sauce, cost £21.00 for the two kebabs and some Doner meat for the dog. Who got more than she was expecting. since their rebranding the standards of food quality and portion size have dropped to a level that I can no longer support this local shop

How odd that I find myself reviewing a kebab shop!! I feel I have to.. I’m only staying across the road in a travel lodge, been here twice now and it’s one of the best kebabs I’ve ever had.. just superb.. Really really good food..

Surprised at how bad it was given the other reviews. I ordered for two of us over the phone for collection as delivery would have taken an hour although I'm only a five minute drive away. - Told it'd be ready in 15 minutes. There on time, waited another 15 minutes for the food. So no point calling. - They actually refried cooked chips instead of putting fresh ones in. Then they left mine waiting on the counter for 10 minutes. They were warm, stodgy and mushy, and ended up in the bin. - Poor hygiene. No gloves. Handling food and cash without washing hands either. Almost cooked lamb on the grill actually touching raw chicken just put on. - The chicken had a rubbery texture. I don't know if that means it wasn't quite cooked enough or it just wasn't great quality. - Expensive. Especially for an average takeaway with the above problems. Probably won't go back. Far better places to spend £10/person in town.
