We had a lobster for two worth £30 and luckily our 7 year old son opted for an adult fish and chips and not for children. The lobster was so small that it only took one bite each to finish it, slightly raw and they even forgot to bring us the second course. The fish and chips was so small that my 7-year-old finished it in no time. Terrible experience. £50 thrown away. In the US, in Maine, we used to eat huge lobsters caught on the spot for $25. In Italy you can eat freshly caught fish in abundance for much less money. We got up from the table and went to look for a restaurant to get something to eat. It really is a disgrace.

Completely awful . Terrible service , waited a long time for food with 2 children. Staff were rude and we defiantly won’t be returning.

Gorgeous crab salad sandwich, 6 oysters and cold drinks. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Shady terrace overlooking the harbour. Friendly, efficient service. Recommended if, like us, you like simple, fresh seafood.

Waiting staff couldn't be bothered and poor service. Made to pay upfront for good that was poor quality. To top it off no glasses. The only option was enamel mugs that reminded me of my grandmothers chamber pot. A waste of money

This is a dual business of Weyfish selling freshly caught seafood of all varieties, and Hatch at the front under a tent structure on the pavement serving prepared and cooked seafood from the back. It's a great place to see British seafood if you're visiting and learn about the local fish. It was great seeing everything from crevettes and clams to cockles, whelks and crayfish. We enjoyed fresh crab and lobster sandwiches at Hatch and it was absolutely delicious! If we lived in the area, we'd be there for these fresh treats once a week!

We are regular visitors to Weymouth…not holiday makers. We popped in here to see what wet fish they had for us to take home for supper.. We chose some Halibut. Absolutely AWFUL quality and strange colour for fresh fish. We buy decent Halibut on a reasonably regular basis so can compare easily. This establishment might need to have a ‘word’ with their suppliers, or themselves. This was just so bad and we certainly will not buy from here again. We had thought about visiting for a meal but, having read other comments will give it a wide berth. NOT RECOMMENDED

Three of us came for lunch. We ordered three lobster rolls (which were small) two portions of fries and one potatas bravas. The lobster rolls had as much crayfish in them as they had lobster and it doesn’t mention any crayfish in the description!! The potatas bravas was poor at best, not sure what the brown and yellow sauce was on top of it? The best part of our meal was unfortunately the fries. We had two soft drinks and one can of alcohol and our bill was around £65 which for a disappointing lunch seemed extortionate. We will not be returning.

I decided to try lunch at Weyfish, I really fancied Oysters and my friend wanted lobster and I thought this would be the place to get good quality! We ordered a crab sandwich, fries, 3 oysters and half a lobster, a beer and a wine. Firstly, you have to pay for your food on ordering, had we had to pay at the end I probably would have refused for part of it. The fries and crab cake were ok, but the lobster was terrible, most of it very slimy and inedible. My oysters (if you could call them that) were the tiniest, least tasty oysters I’ve ever had! The waitress was clueless, I don’t often complain, but when you pay £50 for a very poor lunch I did, all she said was ‘sorry’ - I asked to speak to a manager and spoke to the chef who also just said ‘sorry’ - not good enough - and it’s all served in cardboard boxes - wouldn’t eat there again and definitely would not recommend - absolute rip off!

Bought 1kg of mussels today, brought them home and 550g were no good!!! We’ve bought mussels many times from here before and never had this issue before but we won’t be going again. £12 paid and over £6 wasted.

We see more modernisation each time we visit. First an upstairs restaurant,, now a street food stall and an unfinished water tank inside. can't wait to see what goes in it.

What could be nicer - or fresher - than half a lobster landed from a boat just yards from your table and cooked on a barbecue just feet from your table? Loved this street food take on fresh fish in a bustling setting overlooking Weymouth's beautiful harbour. Yes, it's served in recyclable trays and eaten with wooden cutlery but this is street food at its freshest. We felt the glasses of wine were too small for the price - a bottle would be better value, Otherwise, a real treat.

£55 for cardboard Tubbs, wooden utensils, and Prosecco in plastic glass, They say you can buy quality but you can’t buy style,in this case you get neither, And to add insult to injury they make you pay before you get your food Now I wonder why that is !,,,,,

We walked in off the street looking for some food during a busy period and couldn’t get a seat anywhere. Luckily we managed to get a seat here. The street food was incredible. I will return this holiday as it has been the best fish anywhere we’ve eaten in Weymouth, cooked in front of us and with brilliant flavours. This was awesome and deserves more than 5 stars! Thank you!

Disappointed. I have visited this shop since I was little girl and always got my prawns, cockles and crab. My first visit since Covid lockdown and it as been refurbished to house a restaurant as well as a fresh fish shop, I did not visit the restaurant but the shop has not got the same feel about it, Tim & Steve always friendly and welcoming but the new refurbishment feels very commercial, give me your money and goodbye. Prices have raised too. Give me the old fashioned personal friendly atmosphere. The fish/shellfish was lovely and fresh though.

Every time we visit Weymouth we shop for fresh fish at Weyfish. Catch can vary but you can't get fresher and prices are reasonable. They always keep our selections in the freezer for collection later when we're about to travel home. A new restaurant is on the first floor but we've not tried it - yet.

We bought crab Mac and cheese from The Hatch street food counter and it was delicious. They were literally closing on a bitterly cold evening but kindly made up our order. Shame we are not here longer as the seafood counter looked amazing too.

Hopefully as fresh as you can get. So unusual these days to be able to buy fresh fish from a fishmongers and not a supermarket.

For fresh fish. crab or any other shell fish this is the place to go when visiting Weymouth. Would recommend the crab, potted brown or potted white meat is excellent. Fresh prawns and cockles were also purchased while the family stayed locally in Weymouth

All freshly cooked, the cod was excellent with melt in the mouth batter and perfect chips. The mushy peas were perfect and the tartare sauce was one of the best we’ve had. Great to see sea bass on the menu(see photo), my daughter loved it. Great portion sizes and quality. The young man servicing was very polite and helpful along with another member of staff. Highly recommended.

Worst chips ever. Think been reheated a few times and hard and tasteless. Fish not too bd but oozing with oi. When you cut into batter you could see the oil coming out. Will try Straceys next time
