I stopped here for a bit of breakfast after a pretty horrible couple of days staying at the local hospital, I can honestly say that to my pleasant surprise I had what I believe to be the best Full English Breakfast that I have had in a pub in over 25 years, the ingredients were all of a high quality and were cooked to an equally high standard, I only wish that there was more of it. It should probably be noted that the staff were also impeccably polite to me, I was served extremely quickly and without fuss and the place was spotlessly clean. Not being from the area I have no idea what the place was like when it was previously a Wetherspoons, certainly some of the previous reviews suggest that the place isn’t a nice place to be, but clearly now that it has apparently been taken over, they are obviously trying to turn around its previous reputation and certainly my impression was that the place was doing a fantastic job of it, I rarely find myself in the area, however should I find myself back there anytime soon I shall be making a beeline for this place, cheers fellers

Three of our party had the Wetherspoons ap, and ordered their drinks and food on it. The two of us without went to the bar and ordered our drinks, which were served, then tried to order food, only to be told that the kitchen was closed to receive goods. When asked for how long, the staff were very vague, suggesting anywhere between twenty minutes and two hours. As a party we were under some time pressure, so we returned to our colleagues to let them know the news. They obviously had not received any food, but neither had they received their drinks. They spoke to staff, and received their beer, but could not leave because they had already paid for their food. The two of us finished our beers within about twenty minutes, but staff were still unable to give us a time frame for reopening the kitchen, so we left our (hungry) companions behind, and ate elsewhere. They did not make it to our next appointment!

Typical old style Spoons, lots of different alcoves/areas to sit in, the main bar area where you order food and drink is small with a few seats. Some seating outside facing the market place. Sad how this is nowhere near the normal standards for wetherspoons. The girl at the bar was very helpful, however.... Worst greeting from another staff member I have ever had although he seemed very, very reluctant to do any work. He was poking people in the stomach and making weird noises whilst maniacally laughing. Really didn't seem appropriate whilst at work and we had to avoid him and his moaning about lack of cigarette breaks for fear of getting poked!!!! Will not be back whilst the short guy with glasses is still there...

Usual COVID requirements for a Wetherspoons pub, restaurant and also hotel. As nearby market finished pub was quite quiet. Used app to order drinks - disappointed Erdinger low alcohol beer had run out so opted for Heineken Blue. Served quite quickly. As pub quiet able to read some of the history of local stately homes eg Waddesdon and about Baron Rothschild. Did not stay for food but what we saw looked up to the usual Wetherspoon standard. Set this up as a new venue rather than put the review under the Bell Hotel already listed as we were not staying on the premises

I agree wholeheartedly with D. Wooler's review. I too was in the Bell on Tuesday evening, to celebrate the England victory. I have no idea why the man who runs the hotel side of things felt the need to act in such an aggressive and offensive way, abusing customers left right and centre (as other reviews clearly attest to). There are plenty of other excellent venues in Aylesbury to drink in. I shall be visiting them from now on!

Whilst the beer was ok, me and my friends were celebrating a great England victory against the Germans. I came across this dwarf wearing glasses with a real attitude problem. He was very abusive towards me and told me i had to leave the premises immediately. He also referred to me as "geeza" which i am deeply offended by as i identify with the pronouns them or they due to my new found non binary status. I will not be visiting again until this power hungry staffing issue is sorted.

Stopped here overnight, staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room (102) was lovely, very large and same with the shower room. The only problem we had was that there was so many air conditioning units outside our room, we counted 14, that made the room very noisy all night with the humming. The pub area was very clean but old fashioned. We didn't eat in there, we went to the other wetherspoons round the corner for evening meal and breakfast. For the price we paid I could not fault it and would stay there again if in the area.

I’m a big fan of the ‘Spoons formula and have been to many others but this is not a great example. I would have ticked the ‘average’ box but on average, most are better than this and there are better places to spend your money in Aylesbury. The interior is a little grubby, nothing is done to prevent smokers coming in and out of the door at the front despite the fact it’s meant to be a one way system to respect the Covid restrictions and staff are taciturn and hard to find. The miner’s benedict I had was lukewarm with almost liquid eggs and a sauce separating on the plate. They do this so much better elsewhere.

This was an excellent spoons serving beautifully cooked steaks etc but this evening we found we could not enter or eat there without the app. There is a small bar with table service for non-app customers which was full at 7pm. The larger bar reserved for app users was half empty but although it is table service in there too we were not allowed in. So don't turn up hoping to eat or drink unless you have the app because if the smaller bar is full you will be turned away regardless of how many tables are free in the larger bar. You can't book a table in advance either. Also hand sanitizer on way in was empty and they knew it.

First time staying in a Wetherspoons so we were a bit apprehensive. I’m happy to say we couldn’t have been more pleased to discover a real gem. The rooms were all numbered using Ronald Dahl book characters which is a lovely nod to the great man, who lived nearby. Our room was a proper surprise with a fabulous high windowed ceiling, electric blinds for the nights but just gave the room the wow factor. Aside from that everything was modern and clean, if not a little tight for space. I reckon it’s been a long time since I’ve stayed in a room so well equipped for a stay. The usual tea and coffee but an added bonus of soy milk! Yummy biscuits, bottled still and sparkling water! An iron and board, a hairdryer and t.v. With remote. Spare pillows too. And all for £74! We couldn’t remember if breakfast was included in the price but the receptionist said “no but you can get breakfast from 7:30am in the bar starting from £2.99.” And so we did...No hesitation about coming back here!

When to the Bell for Friday night treat. The evening was spoilt. When my wife's steak dinner arrived. The waitress told us there was no crispy onions. I told the waitress I did not order crispy onions I had ordered onion rings. I was told I would have to pay for the onion rings even though the mistake was Weatherspoon. Asked to speak to the manager. The manager was LUCA. He told me I would have to pay £1.00, I pointed out the mistake was on their part. He told me that was not how it works. I found him to be Rude, Unpleasant, Bombastic and Unhelpful . My wife had to go the bar to get a 32p refund and told LUCA that he had ruined our night out. He replied that is the way it works. Weatherspoon need to give LUCA some extra training in customer care.If Clair was the manager she would have been helpful and cares for the customer unlike LUCA.

Typical Wetherspoons, great value for drinks and food, food variable day to day...depends who is operating the microwave... again typical Wetherspoons, staff friendly and efficient...or not, depending on the shift. Toilets again typical Wetherspoons, generally clean but get minging at busy times, supposed to be checked every so often, staff "checks" usually consist of a staff member walking into the toilets..straight past the urinals and traps, without checking anything, signing the check sheet and walking out a gain...standard Wetherspoons. Overall Wetherspoons offer great value (unlike a large percentage of pubs)..would I recommend it? yes absolutely, its a Wetherspoons, if other pubs offered the overall pretty good standards of value and cleanliness that most Wetherspoons offer, maybe they wouldn't all be closing down due to greed and lack of interest and investment.

I stayed for one night in the desperation of not finding anywhere else, the check in was bizarre in a corner of a corridor, also a walk thru, and people kept having to squeeze past. The room was not great, it clearly had not been cleaned properly as the carpet needed a vacuum and the shower had scum/water marks over the glass and tiles, the floor looked like it had a quick wipe with the corners full of fluff and dirt. One of the mugs on the drinks tray was filthy, which put me off using the other one so I got a bottle of water instead.

Didn't really like the place, surprised to see others describe it as 'spacious' because from what I saw of the pub it seemed quite claustrophobic. However, that is not the worst thing about this place, that award goes to the staff. Was disappointed with the service I received where I was basically ignored and made to feel completely unwelcome. Having been the only one at the bar, who was not being served, for some time one staff member came near me hung around for a while completeley blanked me before going to the other end of the bar to serve a couple of girls who had just turned up. Another employee turned up and must have known I'd been there a while, said 'who's next?' to the bloke next to me, er... is it me that has been stood there longest or the bloke you asked who has been there a matter of seconds?? Me...surely Bell Hotel??. Maybe I was an unknown face and they don't like outsiders, I don't know. I like Wetherspoons and thought that they regarded customer service as an important issue but maybe that message hasn't reached this corner of Aylesbury, my experience suggests not. Used the excellent order and pay app for subsequent orders and got on a lot better when only had to have limited contact with the staff.

We were staying in the hotel part of the building - so meals were handy, very reasonable, and a good atmosphere - seems part of the Wetherspoon management - we used a few of their "pubs" - all same, and good value

I've been to many Wetherspoons for food and/or drinks. This is by far the best I've ever visited. Staff are fantastic!! Food is really good, Especially the burgers and hotdogs. It's always busy, so the beer is always fresh. 5/5

Typically what you would expect from Weatherspoons, reasonable prices, decent pub food and drinks. Location is good, in the centre of Aylesbury. Staff were friendly and the Ultimate burger was mich better than expected. The only down side was the length of time waiting for food.

Went for a late Sunday afternoon meal prior to going to a show at the Waterside. They have a very good selection of drinks and the menu is varied. Everything is well priced, certainly good value. Its in the town centre so it can get very busy. For a reasonable meal then its worth considering.

I was in Aylesbury for one night on a business trip, and decided to "check in" rather than stay in the usual premier inns or travel lodges. The bedrooms were very clean and modern, unfortunately I was in room 101 and is located directly opposite the external air conditioning units which were very noisy and on all night. Even with ear plugs I could still hear the humming of the units. If you decide to stay over make sure, you avoid this room.

My wife and i visited the bell for our Friday afternoon lunch. We ordered the "Fish and Chips" as it was the "Friday Special".As you pay when you order, (Now I know why) You feel obliged to accept the meal. When the "food" arrived, I was shocked be the fish and how it was cooked.Unfortunately we decided to accept the food, thinking it couldn't be as bad as it looked. It was dreadful, all batter, dry and over cooked. We complained to the waitress and she reported our complaint to "management"?She returned apologized, and offered free sweet or coffee, which we declined.Wotherspoon need to monitor their pubs and refurbish many of them. Are they catering for people who regard prices over quality? We won't be back

Went into the Bell before going to see a show at the Waterside. We found a great value evening meal well cooked. The manager checked we enjoyed our meal and did us a good deal on our desert. What a pleasant change from our other experience in Aylesbury this week Yes it is a basic Weatherspoons but well cooked and well served.

Stayed for 1 night. Our room was very good, comfortable, clean with a well appointed bathroom and excellent value for money. Staff we interacted with were all very pleasant. The pub itself we didn't particularly like, can't exactly explain why but just had a very odd atmosphere and was very hot. Found Aylesbury itself a very strange town too a bit dirty, tatty and unloved really this is obviously not the pub/hotel's fault

Called in for a quick lunch & was pleasantly surprised by good quality food at relatively inexpensive price. A toasted sandwich, tomato soup (both very tasty & adequate portions) + tomato juice & a coffee for £7.35 - service was good & relatively quick. Atmosphere fine & comfortable seating. I could not have asked for more.

Dear oh dear! We have used this pub (now a 'Hotel') many times and were not prepared for the shameful level of service; Wetherspoons pubs usually have all aspects of service nailed. Three of us entered the moderately busy pub just after 13:00 and my wife went to the bar to order drinks and food. After fully ten minutes wait we sent out a search party and she was just being served! No mention was made at the time of ordering that there would be a half hour wait for food, however we would have waited anyway had we known. After half an hour a member of staff approached our table and advised us that one of the items was sold out, so we ordered another dish, and it was then we were told we should have been advised of the wait. I went off to order more drinks and the ineffectual bar staff ignored me in favour of two other customers who arrived after me in the queue, despite my pleas to them. I'm not easily missed guys - six foot plus and hairy... They appeared stressed, flustered, and many mutterings under their collective breaths made for a decidedly unprofessional image. Finally, after close to one hour from entering, the food arrived; sadly the tortilla chips were stone cold - a dreary, unappetizing and inedible mess. Remarkably, a replacement was forthcoming very quickly, and I have to say it was all very tasty, as is the norm with Wetherpoons! Beers as always were perfectly kept. The overall impression was that of woeful understaffing, and those who were present behaved as if they would really, really rather be somewhere else. Customer service certainly did not rank highly in their priorities that day. I have little doubt that Wetherspoons will rectify this problem in their newly refurbished establishment, however I will always think twice about visiting again when I am next in Aylesbury.

Following a search on booking.com found this hotel and booked a room for the very reasonable price of £49 for a night. Arrived quite late but was met by a lovely lady. We were given our key cards and shown up the stairs to our room. We stayed on the very top floor which had stunning views over the market square. The room was done to an outstanding level with a gorgeous bathroom and every detail absolutely spot on. Do hope it stays this nice for the future. Even had a quirky book about the history of Wetherspoon's carpets which was a lovely addition.

We visited Aylesbury today, and just wanted a light bite to eat. The Bell some time ago was very run down, we were surprised to see that Wetherspoons have obviously bought it and totally refurbished it. Lots of space now, great decor and great service. We didn't have to wait very long for our meals to arrive. The price of the meals is unbelievable. Two meals for £7.99, unbelievable. We both had chilli con carne with nachos, sour cream and spicy rice. A reasonable portion size and very tasty. We noticed that it's a hotel too, so that will be a huge asset to the centre of Aylesbury. Let's just hope it doesn't attract the wrong clientele, which often happens with Wetherspoons, because of their reasonable prices.

Came here with my husband for a quick bite to eat before the cinema. The bar staff were really friendly and really enjoyed the meals we chose to have to eat. Definitely recommend the BBQ pulled pork sandwich it was delicious. The pub does need a bit of a refurb to brighten it up a bit but other than that a pleasant visit

The bell is in the centre of Aylesbury. It used to be a nice place to relax in but now it is my opinion a poor wetherspoons pub.The drinks, food and offers are normal wetherspoons but the building seems gloomy and not somewhere to feel comfortable in. It is definitely cheap but doesn't have the nice feel other locals do ,try Kings Head or the other wetherspoons..White Hart which feel welcoming.
