Wetherspoon in Hambleton

Typical Wetherspoons, cheap food, cheap drinks, reasonable service that was quick. Not great but not bad, does the job.

Went in twice this week as stayed in Thirsk for a few days. Nice building, big fire and leather wingback chairs as you walk in. Plenty of space. Staff friendly and attentive. Had curry, sausages and mash, burger/chips and mixed grill/chips. Everything was fine except for the chips, they were cold, not even warm, so they got left. Went back 2 days later, hoping it was a one off, but again, stone cold chips. Surely hot chips isn’t an unreasonable standard to expect? Please sort it out management. Shame because the pub is nice

Went for a quiet drink. Not possible due to works meeting. The woman doing all the talking could be heard at the town clock. Manageress not to happy after I requested a clean cup after their machine had a malfunction delivering hot chocolate.

Great value, unbooked Christmas meal better than one we booked back home elsewhere and a lot cheaper

Food not worth the money bland

I love this Witherspoon as it's a large pub with noisy and peaceful areas to suit all tastes. A great selection of beers at very reasonable prices. A free (after 6pm and all day Sunday) public car park right outside of the pub.

Very nice old building on the market square. Several rooms /areas, all with their own vibe. Very pleasant, more than your typical 'spoons 😁

Called in for a few beers whilst watching rugby. Staff kindly turned TV over for us so we could watch it. Table service via App was very prompt, staff were friendly. Busy pub on a Saturday afternoon

Disappointed with meal. Fish and chips could have been a lot better for the price.

Usual service and great value for money unlike a good deal of pubs ripping everyone off

Took 15mins to be served for drinks. Ordered 2 meals, delivered in a reasonable time. One was very good but the second (a curry) was cold. It was taken away and the sauce reheated and delivered back to our table. Sauce was very hot but the plate and rest of my meal was cold. They offered to reheat it all again. I do not like my food reheated especially twice. I then had a struggle with the manager. He stated that he was short of staff. Eventually he deducted my meal from the bill and we left very disappointed. He was very obstructive and offered no apology. I will never visit a Wetherspoon establishment again.

Warm and friendly place to stay. Excellent service good food. Staff can't do enough for you.

Couldn't order food for at least 30 minutes, but table next to us got food delivered to their table 5 minutes after. We had just a beer. Strange. The staff were not particularly friendly, won't go there again

First time here. My son treat me for my birthday. Had all day brunch. Son had chicken fillet burger. Both had chocolate brownie and ice cream Delicious

Quick service. Nice food and not too busy.

Food and drink were good. The place itself was in desperate need of a cleaner. The shelves around the front room were covered in dust. The glass panels between the tables looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Goodness knows what they were splattered with!!

Typical Spoons. Surprisingly quiet. Had a minor issue with one of the drinks. It was changed immediately without question. Great service.

Covid secure, easy quick service with the app, delicious steak and quenching cool bud light pint. Very friendly efficient staff.

The boy who served us did not have a clue was informed that the garnish was in with the price of the meal that was told it wasn't then they didn't have any haha the whole thing was a joke they basically lied v!!!

Not the best Wetherspoons experience. Arrived at 18:05 to find out the App to order food was down. Contacted one of the members of the team who took our drinks order and food orders. Waited 45mins before we queried as no drinks or anything had arrived. Started an uproar with other customers who had been waiting longer for even orders to be taken. Can only say, it was the first day of reopening after lockdown. Hopefully, things will run smoother for this site as the week progresses.

Same staff same decor no change cider not good funny taste

Very reasonably priced and nice beer. Food was good, just could have been warmer and we weren't offered any sauces. But that's the only complaint. Good covid measures.

Fab service, great drinks, felt very safe.

Covid-19 precautions seem to be working well, with distancing, table spacings, track 'n' trace, etc working well. Staff doing very well to cope and appear to be competent and confident. Had apprehension in visiting initially, but wouldn't hesitate to visit and eat there again.

Trusty old wetherspoon with hotel.. The floors and stairs in the hotel were a bit wonky so don't get too drunk if you stay there! Nice helpful staff and hotel is clean but could do with a bit of a spruce up.. EXCELLENT VALUE

Really good value for money. Had Miners Benedict breakfast and the poached eggs were done perfectly. I just can't get over their detailed blue and white plates

Visited, in Thirsk, twice during our hols as other local establishments out of our price range, except the fish and chip shop. Very busy. Very basic. Interior was dull and uninviting but it looked ok clean and we were hungry. No finesse to the service, no customer care. Wouldn't go again out of choice. The ones we have local to home are so different in attitude and presentation of food. We were disappointed. Can't give half a star so four is generous ☹️

I went to The Three Tuns with some friends. The tables had not been cleaned and one of our party ended up with beer on her new sweatshirt. I had to ask a member of staff to clean the table and even then it wasn't cleaned properly. The cutlery and glasses were not very clean with smear marks on them. The food that I had was not as good as it could be and cleanliness needs to be addressed so that is why I have awarded 2 stars. The staff were pleasant enough. It is shame because it could be a lot better.

Excellent service, very clean and relaxed atmosphere. On this occasion only had coffees but up to usual high standard.

Food order placed on wrong table, but apparently that was our fault even though we put correct table number in. When I complained senior member of staff said hard luck should have noticed that it was our order that was being put on a different table, nothing she is going to do about it. Reasonable food at a reasonable price and served fairly quickly. Possibly the cleanest Wetherspoons l've visited, but still had food stained menus.

This gets really packed on race days so you need to get in really early. Unfortunately we didn't so it was difficult to get to the bar.
