This venue has gone badly downhill, and I've had my last meal there for a while. I was greeted with a table that I hadn't been cleared and still wasn't properly clean after the staff came round to sort it. The dirty seats were still wet after somebody had spilled a drink on them. My measly burger was barely enough to feed a child let alone an adult. They've stopped doing this Sunday roasts completely - and it's no longer a place I feel comfortable visiting, despite having been there on many, many occasions over the last 20 years. Wetherspoons, where did it all go wrong for you? You used to be a solid budget brand.

Xmas lunch, very nice with a hazy hog cider

It a small spoons but it does what it says on the tin... The manager that night was being paid enough for the hassle he was getting. The poor guy was very diplomatic and patient to just get a load of abuse and glass thrown at him.... Well was entertaining I can tell you but the manager just smiled and apologised to everyone and he handled it without fuss... 😁

Popped in for a few drinks before a night out, had chips and Nachos

This pub has come a long way since my last visit. Staff are friendly and hard working. Food is great had a traditional breakfast and everything was hot and tasty

Jenna from xcape weatnerspoons waa basically the most empathetic sweetest person we ever had the pleasure of dealing with here at Wetherspoons. Had the ability to brighten up our days with her exemplary customer service. It was absolutely refreshing to her and the manager named Jess was also lovley, and very helpful with exemplary customer service also. Wetherspoons Company in franchise, please reward these two employees if you can as we had an absolutely terrible experience and I didn’t come here for a month because of these two people I’m ready to come here consistently they are amazing and they have put my faith back in your company. At least give them a Christmas bonus.

Very disappointing, my son who has special needs was denied his birthday cake request by the pub. The group spent well over £100 on food and were told that he couldn't light his birthday cake candles, never in my life has this happened before. I would never recommend this place to anyone. ☹️

It's a Wetherspoons, great beer and food . Great value for money.

The location is perfect for the night life Food was a bit dead but what do you expect ordering at 7 o'clock on Saturday night

Not much atmosphere in this spoons, very dreary

Place is a joke. My step daughter who is 21 and 8 months pregnant went in there with her partner for something to eat asked for a small glass of coca cola and was asked for ID. Bunch of clowns dont they know that coca cola is a non alcoholic drink that a 10yr old can buy from a corner shop. Just goes to show what morons the dump employs. Obviously they left and took their custom elsewhere. It's the 23.9.24 and the rain is terential. Bad flooding everywhere. Fingers crossed the place will literally be the moon under water

Tables always dirty... Staff walk past empty handed or only collected 1 glass at a time. I watched a guy do 5 separate journeys to clear 1 table. and still did not wipe it.

We went in and orderd sat down for 20 mins no one brought out our drinks and no one noticed us when we tried asking for help we left and still got no drinks Shitty place dirty and low quality

One of the smaller spoons, and the closest toilets I've ever been in.

Terrible breakfast, black pudding was cremated and inedible but server refused to replace. After complaining we eventually got a refund. Staff look miserable which makes the atmosphere horrible - sign of bad management. Sace yourself the trouble amd go to the other weatherspoons near the station, the difference is night and day.

Good like most other spoons but it was really warm inside and there didn't seem to be any aircons.

Our food took 40 mins to arrive, once I had chased it, and my ham and eggs looked like it had spent all of that under the heat lamps. One egg yolk had broken and the other had solidified under the heat. The table was filthy but I had to ask for it to be cleaned. I will not comment on the level of noise from the other customers as that is hard to control. I will not be rushing back!

So ordered small plates and asked for blue cheese dipping sauce. They bring chilli. We ask to exchange it untouched and they say no we'd have to pay extra. Tim...has it come to this that you can't spare 2 tablespoons of blue cheese dip! How does that effect your profits? Maybe we need to do a whip round for you. Times are clearly bad. We spent 60 quid and you couldn't spare a wee tablespoon of blue cheese dip 😋 🤣

Didn't eat there, but the service was excellent, staff first class. Courteous and welcoming. Will certainly be back. 👍

During the hot weather when someone is sick after having 1&1/2 koperbergs.. maybe your staff need to be trained to medically check the person instead of being rude & kicking the people out without checking if the person was actually well or not but instead belittle & reject with no care to the person who was ill & their company they were with when they had already got up to leave because someone was genuinely sick & not drunk by any means.! Not one person was rude & they all apologised many times but your staff were very rude & very uncaring!!

Good wetherspoons close to the hub and cinema so perfect for a quick beer and something to eat

The food was horrible. Pizza burnt chicken dry steak not cooked the way we asked and it was tough and dry never again.

Good food, plenty of tables but sat down outside next to the building and got blasted by hot air lol. Sat further away and everything was fine.

It is an average Weatherspoons. The staff are nice but overworked. The venue is okay but a little tired. Good value, nothing special but the staff will do their best!

Took 30 minutes and 3 asks to get our drinks that we'd ordered. We finished our food and there was still no drinks. The cheese on the nachos covered two of the nachos. We asked for more they said that's our standard serving and so it will cost £1. Appreciate it's a spoons but still a bit daft. The fish and chips were good though.

260624 : Why is everyone in the pub being subjected to the commentary of the Slovakia vs Romania Euro 24 match ,? Wetherspoons 'selling point' used to be that they did not have loud music or TV blasting away. Clearly standard have slipped, are being ignored .. or have been dispensed with altogether 😱 041021 : Something very wrong with the place this evening. As always the staff are very pleasant and eager to please. But the kitchen was in a real tizzy. Possibly the worst steak I have ever had : over half an hour to arrive, over done, tough, dried out and with no peppercorn (or indeed any) sauce as ordered Possibly the worst advertisement for a usually excellent offer. And the price has gone up by 50p within the space of a week. 290920 : Back in the promised land yesterday evening. Back to what one expects of Wetherspoons. Excellent signature steak with all trimmings. No shortage of tomatoes or mushrooms. Ruddles beer on tap and not tasting 'off'. Just a pity that the place had run out of HP sauce. The App took a bit of negotiating but worked less forbiddingly than I had anticipated. And a member of staff offered to help if I really got stuck ... which was very reassuring as, although I am IT literate, I am not a "techie". Just a pity that it did not give an option to have mushy peas instead of garden peas as was customary when ordering at the bar. Covid 19 security was much improved. The loophole by which slouches were able to by pass it by slipping in by the back (exit) door was now noticed off. 220920 : Gosh ! What is up with Wetherspoons these days ? Today no steak available at all ! ... (I ended up having fish and chips ... but there was no tartare sauce) ... and only three craft beers available on tap ! ... (of which one ..the Elgood Plum Porter had gone off and acidy). Such, in my experience, were never a problem before we entered the promised land. As for social distancing compliancing ? ... good process for those entering by the entrance designated for Covid compliance purposes ... But non existant for those who chose to enter by the exit designated for Covid compliance purposes ... of which there were many ... Need to be aware ... standards are slipping ! 150920 : Sirloin excellent but we have left the EU and are in the promised land, so how can a Wetherspoons run out of mushrooms, mushy peas, beefsteak tomatoes and English mustard ? It's like an Italian restaurant running out of ice cream or tiramisu. 080920 : My compliments to today's chef. My well done signature sirloin steak today was excellent.

Not the best staff members, they aren't bothered when they mess your orders up and bring the wrong food out or don't order put it through the till properly. If you come here check they have ordered your food properly

Very busy when we arrived. Ordered on the app to the table and had to go up to bar after 20mins to collect drinks. There were about 5 orders worth waiting at the end of the bar.

We came in for some food and a drink. However there was no tables free and when we got one it was disgusting, myself and my wife cleared the table ourselves and then cleaned it. When our food arrived it was cold so we had to send it back. They also got our orders wrong. The Drapers arms in Peterborough is far better than this.

Normally love a Wetherspoons but this time my steak was full of gristle and had far too much seasoning on it. The mash was all dried up and hard at the bottom. Also the Coke was so watered down. I know it's not expensive but it still needs to be edible.

Popped in for coffee, then later for a drink. It is as all the spoons pubs, decent standard for food can sometimes be a bit slow when busier, but can be expected. Atmosphere during the day is a bit flat, but Friday and Saturday nights can be really busy. Good outside seating area, again can get a tad rowdy in the evening hours. I think the interior is looking a bit tired here and there, but the staff are pleasant enough but looks as if they might be short staffed at times. Worth a visit if going to the escape building.

Worst Steak ever. Mine was all grissle and fat. This is the second time in a row that I've had a bad steak. Chips were great though.

Made the order the chicken came like just came from the oven or electric stove didn’t got the drinks went to ask for it still had to wait for that got the drinks at the end of the meal then didn’t had any cups didn’t like at all

Definitely the best Weatherspoons we've visited for food. It was extremely tasty, hot and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff were very helpful. My husband found the real ale 🍺 delicious. Definitely a lovely pub and would definitely revisit if ever in the area again 😀

Took double the amount of money they were supposed to, I spoke to the manager who said my refund would be processed however nothing has come back. It’s been over a month and I’ve contacted customer complaints with no reply…shocking service really

Be warned! There is a barmaid working there (big fat lass) who is known to drink your drinks and eat your food before bringing it out to you, hoping you won't notice. When confronted she just lies and gets belligerent. They are only on £10 an hour or whatever so it is understandable but they should ask first imo.

I've been here many times ,but this time, food was terrible. There was liquid coming out of buttermilk chicken burger . This was exchanged, but even so, it was really off-putting. The service was slow even though it wasn't busy . The lady who served us the food and brought our forgotten drinks over was lovely

Did not eat buy the drinks are cheap , friendly staff and got served pretty quickly even though it was a busy Saturday night.

We had a breakfast with 2 pancakes and a breakfast with 4 of pancakes. The servings of Maple syrup we the same amount. This was fine for 2 but not 4 pancakes. We asked for some more for the 4 pancakes and was told we had to buy it. This is ludicrous.

Went in on a Friday afternoon for a bite to eat, having played crazy golf. Service was quick, as was the food, which was delicious. I had the southern fried chicken strips with Chipotle mayo and a side of chips and wasn't disappointed 😋. My friend and I were going to go to KFC, which, as it turns out it no longer in the xscape centre and chose Moon under the water as the next best venue. I'm happy to report that I found it a much better food venue. Price was good, food delicious, what's not to like.

Very busy,went to celebrate my partners' birthday just after xmas- tables were full of used plates that hadn't been cleaned away and found a hair in my pasta-staff were mostly helpful but were understaffed

Lack of staff very poor service! I'm sure Tim martin would be angry how poor this was! Especially as I was in moon under water Watford day before which is so well ran! Family unhappy left disappointed major let down!!!!
