Westow House in Lambeth

Every time I go in here they have jacked the price of their own brewed Pilsner up by another 20p. Now a risible £6.20 a pint, when it used to be not much more than a fiver. About 50p more expensive than their other nearby Portobello pubs. Taking the mick because they are right beside the park. Hopefully Wetherspoons opens on the site opposite, as are the rumours, to give them a reality check. For now, I would advise you to walk on into the triangle for better beer and prices. *Edit reply to response. You don't strive to keep prices competitive, you charge as much as you think you can get away with.

We had a delicious meal here after a long walk through the park.

I've been living in Crystal Palace and frequenting this place for three years and I've never had such an embarrassing experience with the staff. I've been waiting for 15 minutes to be served and another customer jumped the queue, so I decided to point it out the girl who was serving (pink hair) by simply telling her that we were there first. She told me I was rude and that she would serve the other customer first. Sorry but I was rude for what? For pointing that out? It was so embarrassing and It made me feel really uncomfortable in front the other people. I was served by another girl, who was kind. I tried to explain to her what had happened, but I felt so uncomfortable that I managed to simply tell her that her colleague was rude. Westow has always been my favorite place to go drinking with friends but if I face a similar situation again, I wouldn't go there again.

A good sized pub for a relaxing drink with indoor and outside seating. Clean toilets and friendly efficient staff.

I am not sure if there is a training course that sells itself as being specialists in coaching disinterested. The service in here is always beyond contemptuous. Am I an idiot to expect to be given a price for my order. If there were stars for smug have 6 ☆☆☆☆☆ .

We went for Sunday dinner today Carrots seemed a little sad, the meat was quite dry, I think you should offer the gravy on the side as not everyone likes their food with lots of gravy (I do!) But my partner likes his potatoes crispy not sitting in the gravy. Lovely staff, nice service, few tweaks on the cooking and would be a great Sunday dinner!

Went there for a early mother's Sunday lunch. Sunday roast was lovely but the service was frustrating nonexistent the staff in the top section were the least engaging I've seen for a long time. It was like we were back in the 90's again.

Fantastic hotel and bar, set in the heart of crystal Palace. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the rooms are very comfortable. To top it off, delicious food and drink make it a sure bet that we'll be back!

I have loved this pub since my friends first brought me here in 2014. Now that I live in the area, I frequent it quite regularly and I keep coming back because the only thing better than the menu is the hospitality. There aren’t many places that are truly family-friendly but Westow House definitely is and that is thanks to their amazing staff. Even when they’re in the throes of managing a busy restaurant and hotel, they take the time to genuinely acknowledge their customers, especially the tiny humans & furry friends. Hands down the most attentive (and fashion-forward) customer service on The Triangle and my favorite place to grab chippies or a dirty chai.

We're long standing customers of the pub, but lately run into some really poor customer service. We've planned a couple of very important events at the pub, and emails are going unanswered for a long time. I was also just on the phone with one of the staff (3 minute long phone conversation) where I was expressing some concern and asking about follow ups. Instead of having a conversation with me, she put the phone down on the side of the bar and left it there for ages before I hung up. I cannot believe this service. This is sooo rude and upsetting, especially considering how important these events will be. I called back and before I could even finish explaining what had happened, he hung up too. I am flabbergasted by the disrespect. Both events we are planning to hold at the pub would bring in an awful lot of money, and we have also had our family book about 7 or 8 rooms at the hotel for the various weekends. So so so so so disappointed.

Perfectly welcoming and hospitable, great location and beautiful rooms. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Crystal Palace!

Just ok,don't get there early for Sunday Lunch because there's nowhere to sit, all reserved.It was a Mothering Sunday, so busy, Lunch was nice but lukewarm, and struggled with the knives, five of us to cut through different meats.would I return probably not!

A really nice, comfortable environment with decent beers and good service. So nice to see this pub start to reach its potential. Upper bar areas now open. A great drinking hole, please support it! EDIT: zero points for the idiotic bouncer refusing to allow me to walk in with two inches of water left in my clear bottle, claiming no water is ever allowed, despite me always carrying water, and having had the same bottle there 3 hours earlier. My friends both had bottles with unknown contents. Try using common sense and stop lying little feller.

Had a fabulous meal with my family here and Tom was super great and accommodating They made a huge fuss of me and my family thank you so much guys!

Amazing food whole day round, location is around 45 min to centre. Rooms are very decent with comfy beds

Very busy place. Had to sit upstairs with our party of 4 for a table. No Guinness when my husband and I went in. Didn't eat. Prices were more expensive in Crystal Palace than the centre of London.

Great Sunday roast, great space, very kids friendly. The day we went we were also served by the most kind and attentive waitress I've ever encountered while dining in England. But sincerely all the staff seemed great and having a good time while working.

Very nice pub in Crystal Palace. Quite busy. The service was quite slow. My wife had an onion soup ( not very nice...) I had a cheese burger ( over price for what it was...)

Food is average at best and very expensive. Chicken supreme had no cream sauce. Steak was £30, small and overcooked. The peppercorn sauce tasted like gravy granules. Atmosphere was good.

We pop in sometimes when collecting my wife. We have a quick pint of vespa and a wine.Staff all seem happy, service allways good. Had the new menu trail 50% off excellent food arrived hot and perfectly cooked. Would definitely eat again 5☆

They treat you better if you are a dog than if you are a wheelchair user looking for a quiet corner to eat some chips. Security are a disgrace, not somewhere I'll be using again

Soda WATER with fresh lime Is it really £2.40 for Soda water with fresh lime? I would like to hear that from the manager please… I questioned the barmaid and she got stroppy about it. I was with a large group of friends who ordered quite a few alcoholic drinks. The same water drink is free in the Faber and fox.

Well located pub and hotel. Good food and beer. We stayed in a room overlooking the crossroads which could do with some double glazing to keep out some of the noise. Other than that pleasant stay.

I am in a wheelchair. The disabled toilet is very hard to access. not the best

Great accommodation but when I asked there were any special offers available for our upcoming third visit the Duty Manager quipped 'We'll put a free balloon in your room'. Time to look elsewhere methinks.

Nice pub & friendly staff. But we had to leave after one drink because at 6.30pm the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak.

Right in the heart of the Crystal Palace triangle Went there for a works Christmas Party. Cannot comment on much more, but the staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drink was OK, from what was offered and paid for by the company

Such a lovely establishment. My partner and I stayed here recently and everything was tip top. The rooms were well furnished and the public house downstairs was bustling with good cheer. We ate there on many an occasion and found the food to be of the highest quality and teaming with flavour. Please pass my compliments to the chef. Great pub on the top of Crystal palace park, decent food, good choice of drinks and locally produced choices too! Service can be a little slow sometimes but they are very good with customers either way!

We had a really nice meal here,the restaurant is at the back of the pub,& is really nice & cozy atmosphere,with attentitive staff & the food was really nice. We went for a roast dinner but sadly when we went they had sold out but the fish & chips was really nice & enjoyable

I love this pub and the drink selection here is great - Guinness and aspalls, perfect. But the ladies toilets smell absolutely disgusting. It's every single time we come in and as locals that's often. There's something seriously wrong with their plumbing, please get it sorted.

Disappointed with my room. Whilst it was clean, the quality of the bedding and mattress was poor. Stains on the duvet and pillow cases, did not fill me with confidence. The carpet and general quality of the furniture in the room was not great.

Brilliant pub, love coming here on Sundays, brilliant roast that my whole family love. When i do come on weekdays (rarely) I always feel accompanied by Brandon ou who make my family feel loved at all times. I love this pub and I will carry on coming here. Highly recommend. See you guys soon!

Great customer service, and nice atmosphere

One of the nicest places I have been to food was gorgeous staff very friendly and helpful defo recommended for the hole family including kids.

Westow House resides in a gorgeous hilltop location of Crystal Palace with a beautiful view of Crystal Palace Park. The pub is spacious with plenty of cosy seating, courteous staff, and delicious food and drink. The pub's landlord Dan is a very friendly gentleman who's always warm and welcoming to guests. His chef offers a wonderful assortment of dinner menu options that always satisfy my appetite. I cannot recommend this pub enough. You will be happy you stopped in.

Nice pub and hotel! Location is great. Only downside is single glazed windows mean the room was chilly, especially the tiled floor. Also a little noisy in the evenings so rooms on the back are better for this. Lovely decor and facilities. Breakfast was good, but service was a little slow! Pub is super busy in the evenings!

Lovely place with great space outside and although I didn't eat there it was certainly very popular for groups/ families for food

really unhappy that food has to be reserved on Sunday. If there is no booking, no food. Had no crisps as well. No outside food allowed while drinking. We came in at 2pm not after 8pm as you mentioned.

After an initial bad experience, Phoebe resolved the problem with another date booked. I couldn't fault the service or Phoebe. A great evening ☺️

I really love this pub… it’s in an excellent location with great transport links - Crystal Palace station 5 minutes walk, Gypsy Hill station 10-15 minutes walk and a good choice of buses. The food is a little pricey but well worth it! Excellent choice of spirits, beers/ales, cocktails and soft drinks. They have private function rooms for hire and you can bring a wireless speaker for music if you desire. As it is a public house children have to be off the premises at 9pm due to licensing. I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue.

Ambience is great as ever. I tried the "pubdesking", which was quite nice. It was just a pity that both the website and confirmation email state that an after-work pint is included in the £15 fee. However, when asking about this at the pub, it was mentioned that this was not the case and that I would need to pay £4 extra. When I mentioned that this was not completely fair compared to what is offered online, the staff member got offended and seemed to be very uninterested in communicating this to his manager. This was a real unfortunate ending of quite a nice day. I feel that this does make the pubdesking offer less attractive.

Room wasn't cleaned throughout my whole stay. AC was broken, it was absolutely boiling so barely slept for two nights. It didn't get fixed and I wasn't offered another room. Not a great experience. Food at the pub is nothing special. Beds are comfy and rooms are stylish but missing essential things like a wardrobe and mirror. Overpriced in my view.

The upstairs area is lovely, staff were very helpful & polite & well presented, really happy with the service overall.

Good quizzes and friendly staff. Lots of space, good beers on tap and always get a table. That said, >£15 for a very small vegan burger and fries and not much else feels like robbery and is probably 80%+ margin for them. Could throw some onion rings, double up the small burger patty or add more vegan cheese to beef it up to a regular burger size/fillingness. I shouldn't be hungry again an hour or two later for a pub burger 😄🍔

Lovely pub to dine in, and has been almost been a landmark in Crystal Palace for the amount of time it's stood.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was lovely , clean and warm. All staff polite and friendly.

Did not stay here. Had a few drinks in the pub
