Was travelling from overseas and wanted a Sunday Roast experience. I Googled where to find the best roast and found this place on a blog. I made the reservations a few months in advance because I saw reviews that it could get busy. I didn’t know till after I booked it that it was referenced in a Taylor Swift song. I was a solo diner and they seated me in a corner (totally fine as it was really busy). Service was really good and waitresses were very attentive even though I was kind of hidden. Got the beef Sunday roast and a glass of Prosecco. Overall, I loved the food especially the pudding and seasoned potatoes. I’m used to eating more fattier cuts of beef so I found the roast a bit on the rougher side for me, but it was cooked pretty well and was juicy (not dry). The side of veggies was an ample portion. Seems like alot of locals come here - there were lots of big family parties and people that clearly were Swifties.

Got here because of Taylor, stayed for the good food, drinks, and kind waiters and waitresses. 10/10 would go again.

Rocked up hungry for a Sunday roast. Had the vegetarian option and it was an absolute joke. A slice of burnt cauliflower in some watery excuse for gravy and a grand total of 1 meh roast potato, with 1 slice of soggy parsnip on the side and an inedible splat curried sweet potato … that’s not a Sunday roast. Left hungry. Disappointed. Staff was nice and considerate. Did not have the chance to speak to them about the utter disappointment that was the meal, because it started raining and we were sitting outside.

The staff here were lovely, i was served by CeCe, Violet and Hattie.. they were so polite and welcoming during the whole experience and i would definitely come back just to relive it. Thank you so much for a lovely night

Incredible place, incredible food and a nice atmosphere

Quite a charming pub in a somewhat dingy town of Vauxhall. Only about a 10-minute walk from the tube station. Next to a park. The food is very good. The atmosphere is good. The staff is excellent and seems to have been hired right out of the NYC playbook of hiring models as staff. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area.

Tasty food and good beer selection

Such a warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and great food. We went with our 3 month old and the staff were so accommodating. We had a quiet table where my wife was able to breastfeed. The berry crumble was delicious.

I wouldn't recommend this place. My vegan burger was very basic (limp lettuce and a square of non-melted orange cheese) and quite undercooked, for £15. The staff were pretty unfriendly and abrupt, whilst also being quite pushy - e.g. we were constantly asked if we wanted more drinks, before we'd even finished our current ones. They also had an issue with my friend asking for a card receipt, and couldn't provide this for her. I won't be going back.

Very cozy, very good, very nice waiter and waitress. Little extra: attentive with children.

The dessert bumped it to a five star. Churros and sticky toffee pudding was amazing

Just like most people I came here because of Taylor Swift and I came alone, the food was good (and definitely better than most pubs) and came very quickly, but the service really stood out. The server and what I assumed was the hostess were always fast to help and they checked multiple times to get my order right which was very comforting. It’s overall a nice vibe, and very fair prices considering their boost bc of TTPD!

Very cosy pub with lush greenery opposite, serving up a range of pub classics with a bit of a twist. Came for the veggie roast, left very full. Big piece of cauliflower, nicely charred. Big portion with veg shared. Gets quite busy so would recommend booking.

Are we sure this is the place Taylor sings about? The ambience was okay, but very noisy due to everybody talking. Our reservation worked out and they did also ask about food allergies. However, the risotto I had ordered had so much pepper inside that I could barely finish half of it. (And I usually like pepper on my food.) Very disappointing. I’m just not the kind of person who would complain to the waitress. Generally overpriced, too. Would not return.

We went here because of Taylor‘s song. Everything was decent but the vegan option was underwhelming compared to the rest of the menu.

It's a local pub that provides mid grade food as expected. It has some fame due to mentioning by TS in a song. Other than that uniqueness, there are plenty of other pubs around to choose from.

Terrible roast, no Guinness on tap but staff are nice and vibes are good

The only good thing about the place was the atmosphere. Service is quite bad, the girls working there have no motivation at all, since the mandatory service fee of 12.5% is included in the bill. We had olives, as snacks, but they had no taste whatsoever. Very disappointed regarding this place. Plenty of better alternatives around.

Cozy pub that happens to have become a Swiftie meeting place. There are a few quotes here and there and a nice photo spot outside, but not overly so if that's not up your alley. We had the vegan burger and it was quite good. Service was very nice and helpful.

A visit to The Black Dog is a must! We popped in while visiting London for my mother’s 70th Birthday and we loved every moment. The pub is vibrant and the staff tremendously friendly. There were great beer choices — we each got something different. My mom was shocked by a sweet birthday card from the team and a delicious piece of sticky toffee pudding. Overall, an incredible experience and we would definitely visit again!

Went to the black dog for Taylor obviously and made a dinner reservation for us and our friends. We tried the fish n chips, veggie burger and our friends got a risotto. The food was pretty good, not like out of this world, but still very tasty. We each got different drinks. A beer, cider and cocktail. All were very delicious. The vibes were great at this place. Got some awesome merch before leaving and had a good time overall. Would recommend if you love Taylor lore. 10/10

An amazing pub with equally as amazing food!

Great pub. The only down side is that you might see Jeffrey Archer in there. And that’s a blot on anyone’s day.

Good service, and beer selection was better than most places in London. The Black Dog Stout was very nice! And this was in a quiet neighborhood, just off the Underground. Definitely worth checking out!

During our trip to London, a stop at Black Dog was a must! We discovered Black Dog thanks to one of Taylor Swift’s songs – it’s a heartfelt track. So, we went there for that reason, but we ended up leaving with a deep appreciation for the food, the atmosphere, and the people working there. In particular, the owner, Sofia, who is Italian like us, was super friendly and fun to chat with. The food was great, a bit pricey, but of excellent quality. Overall, we’re very happy with the experience!

A very nice place for a meeting with friends, requires advance booking.

Came with a Swiftie, stayed for the food and drink. Lager was smooth, chicken was flavorful, and the toffee pudding was amazing. WARNING: There is a discretionary 12.5% fee, so be prepared for that on your final tab.

I went here approximately 4pm on Sunday and oh boy was it impressive. The pub was vibrant and packed. It is a cosy pub with not that many tables inside so I would recommend booking to avoid sitting outside. The atmosphere was buzzing and it was very busy. I waited about 10 minutes to get a table inside with dining solo. There was many people dining outside as they did not book. I ordered a whiskey sour which was whiskey and bitters, it was a bit different to the whiskey sour I am used to in Australia where they do the egg white foam on top. It was still a nice cocktail to accompany my meal. I ordered the Sunday Roast Pork and oh boy was it a huge meal. I could not finish it all, and I would of taken it away if I was not flying to Singapore that night. It was a delicious meal and the only thing I was not a huge fan of was I believe it was either a parsnip or turnip in the vegetable mix. Everything else in the dish was great and there was nothing wrong with the turnip just it was not to my taste. The service was quick and I had my meal within 10 minutes of ordering. I was impressed by the meal, service and just overall the pub was a good atmosphere.

A really nice pub with a great on tap beer selection. Went for a friend’s birthday dinner and its a nice touch that the staff do a birthday card. Just pretty standard pub food.

Food was really yummy. We just popped in here because it is steps from our hotel. But…surprise! Really good! Not just the usual pub fair. Interesting taste combos!

Visited on 27/09 as my daughter is a huge Swifie. The weather most certainly did not dampen our spirits. We did arrive a little early for our 13:00 table booking, and received a warm welcome, and seated at a great spot just by the kitchen's hot plate, and seeing all the stunning looking food getting taken to other tables, I knew we'd made a great choice for lunch. I had one of the specials - the scampi, chips and mushy peas, and as someone that probably eats far too much scampi and chips, I can honestly say this was one of the best I ever had. My daughter had the cod and chips, and in her words, the cod was beautifully buttery and melt in the mouth, and those big boy chunky chips were likely the fattest, yet softest chips I've ever seen and tasted myself. We also took a copy of Taylor's latest album (The Black Dog version of course) so she could get it signed - like she had seen a picture of online, and the staff were more than accommodating to her quirky request. The girl behind the bar who signed the album perfectly (I didn't get her name) then spent some time chatting with us both about gigs, music, and the special pilgrimages that people go on for what others may think are strange. We got a tote bag as well as my daughter collects them, and this one will certainly hold a special place in her heart. Thank you to all the front and back of house staff involved in this pub, it is a fantastic place, and certainly one we will be visiting again whenever we're travelling either into, or just through London.

Amazing food. The chicken schnitzel with apple slaw was absolutely delicious. The risotto was perfect. Vegan burger really nice, cheese burger was good. Chips are possibly the best chips we’ve ever eaten, atmosphere was a 4 only because it was a little busy and loud but that’s a great sign of an amazing Business. Waiters are lovely and checked up on us a lot. 100% recommend.

I tried to order three items on the menu and they were out of all of them by 7:00 pm. I then ordered a drink and they tried to give me the wrong kind of beer. Very frustrating experience.

This was the most delicious , perfectly seasoned food that we have had on our vacation. We have been to top dollar restaurants and corner pubs in our journey and The Black Dog has been the absolute best, hands down!!

Great food and service. We ate lunch here for my birthday. Staff was extremely friendly (even though the pub was full). When we were ready to leave the manager brought me a birthday card that had been signed by the staff, very touching and much better than the normal staff singing happy birthday.

The servers are wonderful here! Very kind and helpful. I arrived alone and with a fully discharged phone battery and the hostess kindly offered to charge it for me while I had my meal. The butternut squash risotto with sage was very tasty and came piping hot, which was exactly what I needed after a long day walking in the rain (and wet feet) and The Black Dog lager was very mild and drinkable. My only complaint is that there isn't enough single person seating at the bar and I ended up in the garden, where I simply froze. Not really their fault that they are so popular though. Overall, a positive experience and I would go back to try other items on the menu.

The Burger was burned but the beer was good. The service was good. We felt rushed out after we payed, I was offered a plastic cup for my remaining pint and we left. Was a busy day though so that is understandable.

family atmosphere and good food

An unexpected last minute decision to visit the black dog on a sunny August Sunday afternoon. It was busy but we were fortunate to get a table outside. We ordered drinks and food- fish and chips. Ordering was quick and service very quick considering how busy they were.

We visited on a very busy night but that did not take away from any of our experience. We found seats at the bar, and if we sat anywhere else, we wouldn’t have had as great of a time as we did. Violet was working behind the bar that night and made our dinner memorable! Fun conversation, catered to what we needed. She was so sweet and kind! The food was so good! We split a Caesar salad, fries, and sticky toffee pudding. I still think of this meal a few weeks later, and would say it’s my favorite meal of my whole 2 week UK trip.

super cozy pub vibe. it was insanely busy due to the taylor swift hype but things were still running smoothly. great for big groups. was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed the fish and chips. not usually one for mushy peas but these were quite nice. overall, everything was quality!! friends got the roast and they loved it :)

Very busy gastro pub. Staff were attentive from the moment we walked in and we were shown to our table immediately. We had booked and I recommend you do as before soon every table was taken. Menu was not over complicated and something for everyone. Plenty of staff on duty to ensure a professional service was delivered. The food was served quickly by the busy kitchen. Minor thing - my wife prefers the batter on her fish to be crispy (personal choice) and unfortunately for her, it was not here. Great busy venue and a very pleasant lunch was had.

As soon as you walk in they are blasting Taylor which is so fun 💕. You do need reservations to sit inside but outdoor seating is first come first serve! We had the cheeseburger and it was amazing. The drinks are so good as well. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend :)

This place is absolutely amazing. We stopped by last week to get some snacks before leaving to the airport.. best decision we made. The nachos were so good and filling so were the chips. The staff was absolutely amazing and so down to eart. Atmosphere is the best thing out of all this. It's amazing to enjoy your meal, listening to Taytay with swifties all around you. Can't wait to go back.

We ate dinner here. Fast and friendly service and the food was really good. Fresh and super tasty. We had steak and fish & chips. A lot of Taylor music is played and there is a pleasant atmosphere. They sell a little bit of merchandise. Most can be purchased online.

I had a reservation for 9 pm on friday. i got there about 45 minutes early, but i thought you know what, i'll see if they can seat me early. i walked in behind a group of girls who had no reservation. they were sat immediately. i thought, oh, clearly if they were sat, i will also get to be sat. i was turned away and told i had to wait for my reservation. no big deal that's what a reservation is for. i sat in the park nearby for those 45 minutes. i came in around 9 to be seated. i sat and waited for almost 15 minutes before i got up and left. no one came to the table to get my drink order, introduce themselves, or anything. after waiting 15 minutes, i at least would have appreciated someone coming to let me know they acknowledged that i was there and that they would be with me as soon as possible. i don't see how anyone could recommend this place.

Was so excited when a friend made a reservation for my birthday here. We were greeted by a nice guy who warmly welcomed us. Then the experience changed to the worst… a woman manager came out of nowhere demanding whether we would order or not. We had already ordered a round of drinks and had already told the waitress twice we would be ordering when another friend arrived. Our friend arrived and we ordered. I asked to keep a menu (for the drinks to order more later) and the waitress accused me of trying to steal it. I said I wanted the drink menu for later… Later on, I asked the woman manager for another beer and she got annoyed and rolled her eyes. Two people ended up bringing that one beer I ordered, and she yelled at me and accused me of ordering a beer with two different people. I did not and had only ordered from her. This manager kept turning around and giving us a look to leave. I’ve never gotten an evil eye for having dinner before. The waitress tried to take my food twice before I was done. It was clear they were trying to get people in and out. The woman manager was so rude and treated us like cattle. I have never been treated like that. Usually establishments want you to order more and enjoy yourself. We had had a reservation for over a month for this special evening. It was very disappointing. The food was pretty good, but I just wish I could have enjoyed it and my second beer I had to chug. I understand this pub has grown in popularity and they want as many customers as possible, but no one should be treated like this. Especially having a reservation. I hope this is brought to managements attention and no one else is treated like this. Many people were so excited to be here.

Went with a big "Swifty" who loves a fizzy cider. Nice outside place for a drink. Grabbed a photo opportunity. If you are walking past, go in and grab a "swift" one.

The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Servings of the food were also reasonable and hefty for a price and not to mention, delicious. As a Swiftie, and even beyond the fact— totally a must visit!

Came here w my Swifty wife and was blown away. Stellar service from Naomi and the food was wonderful. Don’t skip the croquettes.

The food exceeded expectations for a pub! Naomi and the staff were extremely friendly and quick even with the high volume from swifties.

The food here was lovely, had the lime and chilli chicken which was delicious and padron peppers too. Calamari was a bit chewy and not very crispy but still nice. The whole organisation of the busy space was good though, and the man who greeted guests was perfectly nice about the fact it was fully booked but kindly said they could grab a drink and enjoy the outdoor spaces to take photos. The waiting staff however were not great, met by members of staff who couldn’t have cared less about whether we enjoyed ourselves, or ask if we wanted any sauces etc. I get that it’s really busy because of Taylor Swift but I was met by multiple blunt remarks. Especially as I had also put on the booking reference that it was a special occasion as it was my sisters birthday. Don’t ask if it’s a special occasion on the booking form, if staff members won’t even acknowledge it. Was not expecting anything free but perhaps just a mention of happy birthday to her would’ve been nice.

We came here when walking around London and it was packed with Taylor Swift fans however i feel that the security guard could have been a lot nicer. He was shouting and trying to send us to tables when we didn’t want a table, just a drink to sit outside on the grass with. Rude man.
