The food was not too bad but the main dish was too salty and the dessert ridiculously small. It was not worth the price. The service was good. It was a bit noisy but pleasant.

We came for dinner on a Tuesday night and were instantly impressed with the decor. It is cozy and comfortable while still feeling upscale. We had a shared starter and 4 entrees, 3 of which were from their seasonal offerings. The cheese soufflé starter was divine and I would absolutely order it again. The venison seasonal special was outstanding! The venison was incredibly tender. The table was split on the pork ribeye with some loving it and others found it “hammy” towards the middle. The filet was fine. Our service was nice but a bit confusing. Several staff members waited on us but they didn’t seem to be communicating with each other about our table. This meant that we were, unfortunately, seemingly forgotten about once our entrees were delivered. It took several minutes for a dessert menu to be brought and once brought, no one came over to take our dessert order. We had another booking to get to so we unfortunately didn’t get dessert, although the Autumn Still Life sounded lovely. Again, all who served us were pleasant and friendly, there just seemed to be some confusion on who actually was serving us. Overall it was a very nice experience, and i would recommend it to others wanting a classic French dining experience

Far too noisy and battled to hear conversation at my table. Food average, rather pricey, definitely won't be going back, but enjoyed the walk both ways from Blackfriars Station.

I went for the first time with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. The food was lovely, everyone seemed happy with their choices. I was still hungry after a starter, main and side, so the portions aren't huge and there's room for dessert. The pear sorbet was amazing. The staff are attentive and don't rush you, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The wine stood out the most. I had a different glass with each course and all were outstanding. It's not easy to find a good Sauvignon Blanc. All in all, I'd definitely go again.

Corporate event in the fine dining section. Main restaurant was nice and busy, not frenetic. Service standards as expected but some guests had an issue with menu choice I believe. A fixed menu offering for this event. My vegetarian option was not exciting, uninspiring but adequate. A haricot bean soup, a red kidney bean chilli with rice, the presentation plain, no green veg or salad side added. Unlike the non-veg option, which did include a small side salad with the ' skinny steak frites'. Didn't hear any complaints from the vast majority of non-veg clients, but then the wine was flowing pretty freely and loud conversation likewise! The saving grace for me was ( as often the case) the dessert. A traditional apple crumble with ice cream (with small grapes added to the apple). Perfect 👌. Happy memories of family home cooking ( though of course, at home there were always second helpings 😉). To sum up, a little more attention required to the food content and presentation, to uplift what for me would have been reminiscent of my youthful memories of the 'prix fix' menus so enjoyed when visiting Paris and villages in France in the 1980s and '90s. But then perhaps in those days I was less concerned with the food quality, simply enjoying the 💕 of my companion, who later became my wife😊.

We were there for a Sunday lunchtime visit and birthday celebration. The staff were really positive and accommodating when we asked if we could have a quieter table, and in fact the staff and service was great all round. Unfortunately, by 1.15pm the restaurant felt more like a creche than a restaurant. I know these comments will be disliked by most parents but they are aimed at those parents who allow their children to play on the floor directly in the way of the service route from the kitchen, and to let them cry/shout loudly. The food was beautifully presented. Our starters were cheese soufflé, crab and sweetcorn bon bons; escargot and French Onion soup. All tasty but soufflé could have been more cheesy and the bon bons more crabby. Main courses were also presented well - Oak Smoked Outdoor Pork Ribeye; Grain-fed Chicken and Chalk stream Trout and as for taste and enjoyment, we gave the respective votes, out of 10; of 6, 7 and 7. Not sure I would rush back to Brasserie Blanc in Southwark in a rush, and would go next time to the one in Covent Garden.

This BB restaurant is very handy for Waterloo Station and we usually eat there before getting back on the train - it's especially cosy inside in winter. We arrived an hour early for our booking and were seated comfortably in the entrance area with a drink until there was a table. I had the onion soup starter (which I only recently discovered at our "home" BB - delicious and very filling. My husband had the Morteau sausage starter which is a favourite with both of us. We both had the confit duck with dauphinoise potatoes etc. - a generous portion and excellently cooked. Service was great, as usual, and we greatly enjoyed talking to our friendly but never intrusive server Sylvia. It always adds another layer to the pleasure of the meal if the waiting staff is nice - they usually are!

The business lunch was great. We had a private dining room and all really enjoyed the event. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was high quality and we made the atmosphere fun! We chose Brasserie Blanc for a family meal with honeymooning relatives who were visiting from Canada. The location was very convenient for our party members, however it was important to have a night that would be a special memory of their trip. The atmosphere was perfect making us feel immediately at home and able to catch up, and the staff were all very attentive and helpful - especially with a food allergy in the group. The food was beautifully presented and everything was delicious. Everyone had a wonderful evening and we’d all wholeheartedly recommend Brasserie Blanc.

Usually we have a decent meal here and I feel that the restaurant is good value for money. Unfortunately this time and also the time previously earlier in the summer, we didn’t enjoy it as much. The main reason is that the vegetarian options have gone down hill quite a bit. For example, the risotto sounded nice but when it arrived it was more like rice with some vegetables in it and a tiny bit of cheese sprinkled on top. It wasn’t really a risotto which should be rich and creamy. It was actually a little unpleasant to eat and lacked richness and flavour. I looked at the menu later and realised that this may be because it’s actually a vegan substitute for the risotto and also I’m wondering if the same thing was done with the vegetable wellington. Surely one vegan option is enough as all the veggie dishes seem to be being replaced with a vegan imitations of a dish that would usually be vegetarian. Please bring back decent vegetarian food! Atmosphere was nice though and service food as usual.

Out with a friend and we had the three course pre-theatre menu, which was both great value and provided a good choice. We opted for pumpkin soup with kirsch - which sounded interesting and was subtly flavoured and came with toasted pumpkin seeds and truffle oil; the mains were steak frites and smoked haddock fish cakes on a bed of kale with cream sauce and a poached egg and desserts were treacle pudding with ice cream and a baked apple with nuts, caramel sauce and ice cream. The cocktails were also good, including the gin and elderflower cocktail and also the non-alcoholic cocktails. All the food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient

After we mentioned the corn fritters were burned, the waitress left without an apology and started to serve another table. On arrival I waited to be seated as per the sign by the podium. It did take a moment fir staff to come to the front and seat me. Staff were very nice and helpful but probably need to be zoned so that each area of the front, middle and back are manned at all times. There were times that it took a moment to wave someone down to get drinks or extra items. Probably a good idea to ask staff to return to their sections so that customers can see them and vice versa. Food was tasty and well presented but portions a little on the small side. Bouillabaisse was one king prawn, one crayfish, two chunks of fish and a couple of new potatoes, half a tomato in the soup/stew. Very light and delicate flavours. This came with 3 slices of baguette. My friends had sea bream and duck. All found the food to be delicately flavoured and fresh. For dessert we had creme brulee, cheese cake and apple crumble. Again nicely presented and tasted good. We were just a little bit hungry later as the portions were slightly on the small side. The classy french brasserie surroundings are good for business dinners, friends get together and couples.

Had the Bouillabaisse, which contained very little fish - certainly nothing like the portion in the photo I noticed on the advertising board outside on leaving! Served with the smallest slice of baguette. Cheese plate was good, although straight out of fridge - so not ideal for flavour of soft cheeses. Wine nice. All in all, left feeling this meal was overpriced and didn't live up to expectations.

They were friendly and truly appeared to enjoy their work (which makes all the difference) and they worked well as a team. The food was sublime. As a regular (2 - 4 times a month) I have my favourite dishes including steak tartar starter which is replaced on this summer menu with trout tartar). There is no hiding place in a tartar dish for poor quality ingredients, and the combination of the avocado, pickled radish, and trout caviar with the raw trout was just magnificent with all ingredients in perfect harmony. On this occasion I decided to re-visit a previously disappointing main course: first time I had enjoyed the scallops, however, second time around they were 'rubbery'. So third time lucky? YES. Normally the scallop 'drums' a seared top and bottom, but unusually they were seared on the sides, thus providing more 'real-estate' to be seared. And - like a fillet steak - it is the searing that provides the richness of taste. Most fish naturally has a delicate flavour, and requires an accompaniment that complements without being overpowering. In this case the cherry tomato fondue, braised fennel, and pommes persillade provided a 'rainbow' of textures and tastes that were absolutely yummy. Pudding: no question - it had to be the new addition: pistachio souffle, and it was quite simply perfect.

I try & have a meet up with family at least once a year if possible for dinner & a catch up & over the last few years thats been in London around Waterloo. We'd tried a couple of restaurants which were pretty good & then (3 years ago I think) gave Brasserie Blanc a try. We all liked it so we were back again the following year & when it came to a meet up this year there was no question where we'd be eating. Really like this place. The restaurant is relaxed, the food excellent, service is good & the staff friendly. All restaurants tend to be noisy when busy & that can make conversation difficult so we ate early this time. That was a good choice as it was pretty quiet & chatting was easy. By the time the place started to fill up we'd more or less finished with talking anyway & were concentrating on the food! Boef Bourguignon for me & I have to say it was the best I've tasted. Everyone really enjoyed their food & there was talk of meeting up again later this year so we'll definitely be back again soon. Arriving an hour early on a wet Saturday evening the restaurant was kindly able to accommodate us and we were seated straight away. We had a Virgin voucher and were presented with a separate menu. We asked if we could choose items from the main menu at a supplement and were told that this was not possible. The Virgin menu had only three choices per course and therefore may not be to everyone's taste. We chose from the Virgin menu and very much enjoyed our meal, the pork cutlet being the highlight. We had an issue with the desert, creme Brulee, watery as if previously frozen, but the restaurant manager quickly remedied. A large group of us have lunched there several times. The only 'fault' , if you are looking for one, is that it is a tad noisy but that's only to be expected with so many hard services. Cannot fault the staff or food

Very romantic restaurant and elegant decoration, being next to the theater they have a set menu, great. Starter, main and dessert. All very good, just the right amount. The waiter was very friendly and happily took a photo of us. They also have a terrace but it was better inside 👍🏻

With such a high price level, I expected it to be at least tasty, but no, the fish is tasteless, the portion is small, the order took a long time, the restaurant itself is in the basement, stuffy, I don’t recommend it.

What a fantastic experience. I booked a table of 10 taking clients out. We were looked after from the time of arrival until departing. All the food came up and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it all, and the Wine choice was fantastic to accompany our courses. It is a fantastic venue to go to on the southbank !!

The cappuccino was good , strong and frothy, as requested. The Lemon meringue cheesecake was delicious as was the gelato . Unfortunately The Mexican nachos were not good value for money and the nacho cheese should be sent separately to avoid them going soggy . There was no separation between hot & cold items which I’d expect. Mexican nachos should have had red kidney beans in sauce served with it so I was disappointed. That’s something to be addressed to justify the cost.

Have been a regular at the tankard for years as an IWM employee. Awful experience this evening, having booked a space for 20 weeks ago (and confirmed) to be told on arrival we had just a small table. The area we were shoved out of then occupied by dinner guests who caused a huge fuss by us being ‘in the way’ and upset several of our party. Manager (?) couldn’t care less and referred me to ‘bookings office in Scotland’! Dreadful treatment for long time paying patrons. Will be taking our business elsewhere.

This is a great bar with great beers , there are TV's for sports and the staff are welcoming , there is a smoking area in a small garden area and its 2 minutes for Waterloo mainline station , the prices are also much better than the outlets in the station , one think I would say is the toilets could do with some bleach and a good clean .
