BFI Riverfront in Lambeth

Really nice food at a very central location at decent prices. Service personnel are very friendly and helpful.

When I crossed Waterloo Bridge and went down to the Thames River, there was a store I could see so I went in. When I went in, the atmosphere was nice and the fish and chips, chicken salad, margherita pizza, hamburgers, lemonade, cola, and ale were all delicious. I went with my kids, and everyone ate it deliciously and happily. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean.

Amazing pizza, delicious pizza and cozy vibes.

Se dejó caer por un capricho después de ver las luces de Navidad alrededor de Londres. El restaurante estaba ocupado, pero nos encontraron una mesa a pesar de no haber reservado. El servicio fue rápido, y la comida llegó muy rápido (supongo que están acostumbrados a los clientes que tratan de llegar a un espectáculo). El Rissoto de Setas fue, según mi esposa, el mejor que había comido (y ha comido unos cuantos). Probé el Beer Battered Haddock, y tengo que decir, que fue realmente bastante bueno. Teníamos una mesa tambaleante, pero nuestra camarera encontró un par de cuñas, y todo estaba estable una vez más. En general, una experiencia de restaurante muy aceptable.

El restaurante estaba incómodamente frío, y a pesar de que la camarera nos aseguró que nos trasladarían a una mesa más caliente lejos de la entrada, en su lugar se lo dio a otro grupo, dejándonos atrapados en la corriente de aire. La comida fue igualmente decepcionante. La pizza era pequeña y mal hecha, con la masa no completamente estirada, mientras que el pescado estaba empapado en aceite. Para empeorar las cosas, tuvimos que perseguir a la camarera varias veces para que sirvieran el postre a los niños. Por el precio que pagamos y el sorprendentemente mal servicio, este restaurante está lejos de valer la pena. Hay innumerables lugares mejores a lo largo de la orilla del río Southwark en Londres. Evita este lugar si buscas buena comida y un servicio decente.

Our experience at the BFI restaurant was appalling. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold, and despite the waitress assuring us we’d be moved to a warmer table away from the entrance, she instead gave it to another group, leaving us stuck in the draft. The food was equally disappointing. The pizza was small and poorly made, with the dough not fully stretched, while the fish was soaked in oil. To make matters worse, we had to chase the waitress multiple times to get dessert served for the kids. For the price we paid and the shockingly bad service, this restaurant is far from worth it. There are countless better venues along the Southwark riverbank in London. Avoid this place if you’re looking for good food and decent service.

Enthusiastic staff, and great customer service

We happened upon this restaurant. All hungry. Great spot,fast service and food was delicious. Looks like a great place to go for something to eat before going to the cinema and all under the one roof 😄

Very nice place, with good food at good prices. I recommend the mushroom risotto.

Service was great. I dined alone and the waitress found just the right table. Order was taken promptly and my food and wine came really quickly. Perfect if you are going on to a film or show. Really welcoming and delicious food.

Great food on offer here. Easy food menu to go through and great drinks. Loud atmosphere which can be overwhelming, but makes it great for a lively group dinner or catch up. Reminder that if you have a BFI membership you can use your discount here. Love you BFI!!

Food was really nice Fish n chips great portion Beet gnocchi was really tasty but portion a little on the small size.

I like the BFI very much. I’ve had the fish and chips which were very tasty, but this time I had a capricousa pizza , and I’m sad to say, it wasn’t very tasty, in fact it was quite flavourless. A bit disappointing. I told the waitress politely when she asked how everything was. She says she’d feed my comments back to the kitchen.

Some nice people serving food here, but the food was not up to scratch. Padron peppers were seedy, tasteless and unsalted! Fish and chips was tasteless and batter was meek, I’ve had better fish and chips in a pub near Euston station. Overall, very underwhelming. A shame as it coincided with my partner’s birthday.

Very tasty meal! We told our server, Nyah, that we didn't have much time as we were going to a show, so the food arrived quickly, and Nyah was very friendly.

Oct 24- we passed by and stopped for light dinner of small plates. Overall it is not inexpensive and you get very small plates! We had 3 between two but ordered another side of fries. Condiments have to be requested and drinks are good but expensive. Good vibes, friendly staff and sassy location. We went on a Friday before theatre and NT. 4 drinks, 4 small plates was £45 pp The crab fritters were more like dough balls so disappointed; the squid was tasty; the monkfish was tiny but delicious and the best with a dip to die for! (may benefit from pitta too).

The food was excellent, we visited mid week and in the middle of the day and I could not fault the service...it was a little pricey but you get what you pay for... I would definitely eat there again

Exceptional presentation of their products, and excellent customer service from every member of the staff. I've had dinner here several times for the past 5 years, and I'm surprised about the constant improvement of this place!

I went at the restaurant with a friend and we really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. The service was excellent, Valeria looked after us and she was attentive and helpful and add value to the all experience.

Food, service and a excellent place to sit and relax while eating. Ice cream and Earl Grey tea was very nice. Staff were polite and not pushy. Food and drink prices were fair and reasonable. Highly recommended 👍

Tuvimos una maravillosa comida pre-teatro en BFI Riverfront. No habíamos visitado antes y reservado de última hora como en todas partes estaba ocupado, pero no nos decepcionó. La comida era deliciosa. Nuestro grupo era una mezcla de veganos y vegetarianos y había un montón de opciones. Los ñoquis veganos estaban deliciosos, al igual que el pequeño plato Burrata. Bonitas patatas fritas y patatas batatas y puede recomendar encarecidamente la focaccia con aceite de oliva. La guinda del pastel fue el budín de toffee pegajoso vegano con helado de panal vegano. Todo era muy razonable y perfectamente cocinado y el ambiente era zumbante. Lo que hizo la experiencia tan especial fue el servicio, especialmente nuestra camarera, Victoria, que no podía hacer lo suficiente por nosotros. Sin duda volveremos!

We hadn't planned on eating here but we're definitely not disappointed. The food saved staff were brilliant.

Servers take ages to take order, good luck trying to get their attention. Then deliver incorrect drink that also took ages to swap for a correct one. And it wasn’t even busy! Cant image what happens during rush hour.

It's always so awkward to say something, particularly when all one wants is to get the train back home after a long day. However, the experience was just subpar. First, people who sat after us got served their drinks and then food first. Apparently we're the only one who had an issue with our order in the system, which is why it took so long. Secondly we asked for a high chair several times, yet only got one as the food was arriving. Thirdly, the food was just... Bland. The olive oil for the focaccia, which barely had any rosemary, was a random store bought brand and nothing reasonably sourced. The chips were good, but have had better McDonald's burgers.... Not sure if the bottle or the glass I used with tap water was properly washed because I could still taste the rosé it held. Last but not least, service charge. I have worked in the industry, so I absolutely love to tip people... When I get stellar food and service. So being forced to pay service charge when we got served last, didn't get a high chair promptly, and the food was barely edible... Yes, our 1 year old threw food and broke a glass (which got away from me), which is why we would have tipped anyway, but it should be our choice to do with an amount we see fair. I hope you take feedback on board and improve.

Great experience on the gay pride day, with added pride accents, good on BFI

I love this place I went yesterday with my family, a 2 and 3 year old babies and my brother who is visiting from Mexico. We had a fish and Chips and was gorgeous, my brother had a Goats cheese pizza and my husband had the beef burger. Everyone loved their food The servers were very patient with us and kind when dealing with the kids They offered us the kids menu and I am glad they had milk as an options, my kids don’t eat sugar! Everyone was satisfied with the big portions and the taste! I hope this place get more good reviews because they deserve better! As a business owner myself I want to support the business that do well! BTW, the fish and chips I had was very very very good! I love a good fish and chips. The batter was crispy and the size was huge! The chips in general we had for our meals were freshly cooked!

All lovely but as it is a cultural space the music ought to be jazzy or film scores, not brain dead minimalistic and depressive

They get 5 stars purely for the cooking on the cod dish we had. Friend had the pork and also said it was amazing. But literally the cod…it was perfect. Plenty of veggie options too. Recommend for a nice lunch with a friend as quite relaxed. Plenty of draught beers/cocktails both of boozy and non alcoholic type.

Great service, good location, dreadful pizza. Corse maize flour frozen dough, the topping was tasteless and far from being fresh. They make pizzahut looks like a Michelin ⭐ establishment.

Poor manu from the bar. We ordered our food and we been told we not allowed eat at the front I mean outside on the table . We come here with small child and dog so we planned to eat outside . We been unable to enjoy our meal as family . We been taking turns to say outside with our dog .

Great atmosphere drinks food and service. This is now our go-to place for evening out.

I was baffled and outraged by the manager on duty… dismissive, arrogant and distant… was passing by and decided to have some snacks-big mistake!

Absolutely rude management, staff was so nice and polite though… the manager was so rude, obnoxious, arrogant and inattentive! Garbage! Don’t waste your time, money and good energy!!!

Oh my so loud! Apparently there's a bar tender who makes an amazing old fashioned though. I was there to meet a pal to see a film so it was fine.

Lunch for 4 on a Saturday. The place was busy and buzzy. Staff appeared cheerful ,our server was very friendly and helpful, one of our party had specific diet requirements and it was no problem for the chef. Food was delicious. Definitely be returning, also a great spot to watch the world go by.

Overall the food is really good but remember to read 12.5% mandatory tip that is being added to every bill, which is written under the menu with a small font.

I have a soft-spot for the coffee blend they use here. I also find the staff consistently friendly and it helps I already love the location.

Closes a little too early in my opinion and gets busy quite quickly. Still, it has nice views and feels sort of cosy for a big place like this. Good place for spotting actors as I’ve seen a good few there over the years, of course it’s nice to give everyone their privacy tho. Not much in the way of decent wine, but the tea is decent.

Dinner before a film, very nice location with good atmosphere, just under Waterloo Bridge. Busy restaurant, next to a bar area, but still super quick service with smiling staff! Food was delicious and water was brought to the table even without asking. Would definitely return and recommend to friends!

Went here with my girlfriend and our 2 year old son and the service we received was apalling. Now bare in mind the place was borderline empty with only two tables at the time filled so there was plenty of room and lots of spare service staff,We stood around the entrance for atleast five minutes waiting for the servers to finish their conversation (after looking at us multiple times) before we were seated. After being seated we looked at the menu and it took them another 15 mins to ask us if we wanted any drinks, we made our order aswell as our food order. The food didnt take long at all and it was absolutely amazing, we made sure to give compliments to the chef as we left. However after all of us had finished eating we had sat there for 20 minutes with empty plates and empty glasses on the table whilst and the servers AND EVEN THE MANAGER OF THE ESTABLISHMENT stood at the front of the store and had a fun chat. Finally we were approached at that point i called for the bill and was FORCED TO PAY A TIP, absolute joke of a place. The fact that they find it at all acceptable to force a tip onto our bill and refuse to take it off after the worst service i'd ever received is astounding, mcdonalds does a better job

nft1 will always be one of my favourite places to see any film, just wonderful. Comfy seats, cosy and always fab.

Menu is very unadventurous and quite limited to the most popular of fast foods like burgers and pizza.

Nice place to get some food and drinks. Nothing special or fancy but ok if you are in that area. Pizza was nice and quick delivered. Have of it is a bar and the other part the restaurant.

£4.50 for a piece of bread. What!? The rest of the menu is OK, though definitely subject to shrinkflation, but there’s something quietly obscene about asking for £4.50 for some bread and butter. The food is broadly OK and the staff are nice and capable. But I won’t go there again, it’s just kinda wrong somehow. Somebody is getting badly ripped off here and it’s probably the customers.

My favourite place along the southbank to get some good pizza, drinks and a nice chilled atmosphere. You can walk into the restaurant and get seated pretty quickly, but the bar does fill up quick. Nice people and place.

Terrible food. Two pizzas, a risotto and a burguer. All terrible. Orangini are just croquettes. The pizza base tasted bitter, very salty and low quality cheese. Risotto very small and no taste. Burguer was Ok.

Came to this beautiful location with some work, colleagues for a few drinks. we were able to get a seat and table very quickly. There are good variety of drinks. The place had a very nice feel to it close to the river. It was convenient as it was a short walk to Waterloo station.

Doesn't look much from the outside and tbh you could easily just walk by, but the food was very impressive cooked by skilled chefs that you can see at work, service was very pleasant and friendly ( after a little hicup) which was very swiftly put right would defo recommend.

This place was fine. It's in a busy area full of people and tourist so prices seem to match that. The food was alright and it is a good place to enjoy people watching with your meal if you sit on the patio under the bridge. The service was fine, but nothing stuck out as amazing or above and beyond to rate it any higher.

Ordered a margarita pizza but the flavour off the cheese overpowered the meal (it tasted more like a 3 cheese pizza) when I sat down, the waitress brought a drink over to me by mistake and part of the drink spilled all over me/bag but no damaged caused- but didn't receive an apology. The price for the meal was decent, but probably won't eat there again.

Came here for a birthday which was known by the restaurant beforehand. They made an effort to get our group a nice window table, much appreciated. The venue was very busy and as a result we had to wait quite a while for food. However, there was ample number of staff on duty that night. So why it was hard to catch a waiter/waitress I don't understand. If you focus on your own zone, that should not be a problem. Therefore, seemed a bit disorganised. The food was very tasty, though the chocolate pudding appeared to taste like instant pudding, both in texture and taste. Bill came to a hefty £114 for a,table of 4, though only 1 alcoholic drink was ordered. No complimentary dessert for the birthday person, which is standard in the vast majority of restaurants. Overall pleasant but from some aspects disappointing.

Great place, the most amazing 'security' [Lisa] that I've ever seen, super conscientious and yet brilliant at her job, and charming too. Meanwhile, ;) film, food, fun and a great bar in a 'strip' that is mainly eats but bar chill - go bfi - please fix the lighting council people!! It's a river highlight with the books n ' all so give a little love 💕

I've been here a few times now, both for drinks and food. The staff are always lovely and friendly. Nice and chill atmosphere with good pizza!

Sorry but the drinks are OTT prices (£17 for 2 x simple gin and tonics at the bar), the food was poor quality (sourdough turned out to be slices of toast... burger rolls and chips burnt), we also had to remind three waiters to bring us things we ordered (all overpriced) and then we noticed a £7 'service charge' on our bill after leaving. Just insulting. Film was great fun, cinema was lovely, but we'll never eat or drink here again. Shame really but it seems greed is everywhere in 2023.

Food was nice. Setting is also nice, if a little noisy. Service was very disorganised. It gave the impression of a missing manager. A couple of the service staff were rather grumpy.

The BFI Riverfront is a fantastic destination for film enthusiasts and food lovers alike. With its stunning riverside location and diverse menu, it offers a unique dining experience accompanied by beautiful views of the South Bank.

Really good spot upstairs - not too busy and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable for Southbank but the food is a little average - platters are poor / pizza is good. Stick to the drinks or have a look at what others get before you order...
