Vine aquí el sábado pasado para celebrar el cumpleaños de un amigo, alquilamos una de las cabañas, lo cual fue maravilloso. Después de haber estado en el lugar antes de cuando aún era llamado Grand Union, honestamente puedo decir que el sitio ha ido por desgracia cuesta abajo.

24 de junio 2017 - reservamos 2 cabañas (£140) con 20 personas para mi cumpleaños 30 de junio a partir de las 2 pm en adelante. Nunca había estado allí antes. Pasé un tiempo estupendo y el jardín es legítimamente encantador aunque nos hizo mal tiempo. Nuestra camarera original (para nuestro cabañas) era Isobella que era increíble, muy amables, simpáticos y acogedores.

Agresiva y que no tenían porteros idiotas escuchar nada que decir. Si buscas ser demasiado poder, bares estropeó para usted! A su llegada dijeron que el bouncer que tengo un reemplazo de cadera, pero 20 minutos más tarde me dan tirado para caminar gracioso?

Reservé una cabaña jardín aquí para mi cumpleaños bebidas el Domingo de un fin de semana festivo. La cabaña era muy lindo y el jardín era muy amplia, sin duda merece la pena de 2 estrellas.

Solía ser un gran pub hace años. Ahora es sólo un bar de agresiva. Pregunté donde están los baños y me tiran! ¿Por qué? Me gustaría el gerente para que me explicaran por qué. Pero probablemente conseguir una mierda, o ninguna explicación. Si quieres evitar una noche agradable. Tenían porteros son los peores animales que nunca se escapó de un zoológico.

Fabulous out the way pub with a garden to be amazed by... Great pub grub... Service polite.. The garden is a must see.. Great for an afternoon in the sun.. But even the evenings in the garden are brilliant.

Mi mejor amigo reservado una cabaña para ver el partido de Inglaterra vs irlanda por su cumpleaños. No esperaba mucho de fuera, pero por dentro, en el jardín de la cerveza es una joya! Cabañas, con mono propio TV para ver el partido. La única dificultad es conseguir sirve ya que estaba muy concurrido, pero obviamente! Fue el seis naciones.

I have been here a few times, It's a great place if you want to feel like your at an 18-30s resort in kavos! Not a great place if your looking for etiquette and a cultured crowd.

My sister and her friend were celebrating a 30th and 40th birthday here last weekend. The food took 2.5 hours to arrive after ordering and they lied about sending an email informing my sister that the paying guest list times had changed. This resulted in a large number of her friends being held outside in the queue because "we're at full capacity" (there was plenty of space inside!) and having to pay to get in because the the free guest list time had passed. This was annoying for them and upsetting for my sister who was trying to enjoy her birthday. Attempts to speak to management were a complete failure as apparently there was no one in charge there that evening and they just weren't bothered about the disappointment caused. Won't be going here again.

I attended this venue for a birthday and a hut was hired in the garden for £75 and some guests arrived at 2pm. 6pm food was ordered which arrived 9pm. When it arrived it was completely wrong. You can imagine some guest arrived from holland especially for the celebration were very disappointed with this service.An email was sent saying guest had to be in at 8:30pm to gain free access. When guests arrived at 8:15pm they were held in a queue until 8:40pm and charged to get in. When a complaint went in to security they were completely condescending informing us a further email was sent after the original email changing the times to free entry before 8pm only. This was not received.No one cared about complaints we were making and directed us to sending a complaint after the weekend.I would never recommend this venue to anyone. Please go elsewhere to spend your money.

Came in for a few cocktails. Dean was amazing made some pretty good espresso martinis would highly recommend

Always judge a cocktail bar by its expresso martini's. First one we had was a little sweet so asked the barman Dean if we could have special ones. No problem says Dean! The helpful b*stard patiently listened to tedious demands and sorted us out with the best expresso martini's I've had since time bruv. Nice one Dean. Also the outside bit is a proper little gem.

Best friends birthday in near tatters due to a problem with booking and is not confirming. AIDEN saved the day and helped us organise it all, if anyone in the already great establishment deserves some praise it's him!

My friends and I popped in to this bar for a quick pint before heading to another restaurant to be surprised by the quality of service and the poor atmosphere since we had been to Grand Unions in the past. It was on 7:30 on a Saturday night so we were surprised to be told that the beer we requested had finished for the evening ( I thought already?) then on selecting another a heady 2/3 pint was presented to us that was the end of this beer as well. So trying to be accommodating we asked if we could either be charged for a half or have the last beer on offer. When the 3 try was poured we were dismayed to find that this next one had a head on it which would have been more appropriate in Munich. As an ex-barmaid myself I asked if we could have a top up as I knew that my friend wouldn't be happy with this. Especially since the head went a good couple of centimetres below the pint line. I was shocked when I was told "you know what this is how we serve them here" when I could see clearly from other pints on the bar that this was a complete fallacy. I was also shocked that the member of staff (Veronica) was so rude to us since we had been all smiles. She just walked off and refused to get my gin and tonic. We had a few sips of beer and left.

This place is aweful, never ever go there, bad service and awful staff. We booked 1 hut for my friends birthday, we arrived at 8:30pm to be searched at the door which was fine, after entering the club and heading to the toilets, me and my 3 friends waited outside the toilets for the girls. We had exchanged some cash between us as we were paying for the hut and party package. They had seen this on CCTV and 1 bouncers came running upstairs claiming we had exchanged drugs. Us 4 boys got kicked out the club, after talking to the bouncer about what we did they said we exchanged some drugs and money. We tried to explain that we exchanged cash for the hut and package however they were having none of it. We knew the 1 of the staff members and they came out to convince the bouncers to let us in however they were refusing. After 45 mins of standing outside being ignored. The staff member went to speak to the manager and they let us in. This ruined our night already however as we made the long trip from Tower Hill and knowing 1 of the staff members we continued our night, we bought 3 £100 packages which gave us 12 plates of sharing platters and 3 bottles of spirit and mixers. We ordered Malibu, Vodka and Rum with coke, pineapple juice and lemonade as mixers. We asked for Spiced Rum and they bought out White rum, when we asked the waiter for spiced he was very rude to us and refused us spiced rum and said 'we don't have any left'. We got our food at 10pm, then we got told that they were closing the huts in 15mins, which annoyed us further. They got us a table upstairs and no staff members helped us with our drinks, food or anything. The music was rubbish, not even sure they had a DJ, I think it was a NOW 40 CD. The bar service was terrible, after waiting by the bar the bar tender saw me a number of times waiting and decided to service other 'non ethnic' people who came after me in the line. At this point I was getting very frustrated and angry and shouted across the bar to get some for of service. After waiting ages the bar tender served me. The bouncers constantly kept watching us which made us feel really intimidated and ruined our night even further. After this we decided to leave at 12am and head back to the hotel. This place shuts at 1pm which is a joke as well but I am glad we left early. Probably the worst night out I have ever had and I would never return to this place. If you want to be treated badly and pay £6 a shot and £12 a drink then this is the place for you and its not even in central London. Bars in Shoreditch are a lot better and cheaper. I hope this place gets shut down.

Don't ever book anything with this venue , so much hassle , terms and conditions not explained clearly which I feel like I was lied too and They won't return the money back for the booking , manager doesn't seem to care at all about providing good customer service and when asked to speak to someone else to sort the issue , the reply was i can only speak to one person , feels like no one cares if you return to their venue or not

Amazing service, stevie was an amazing bar tender and made us some great cocktails the only problem is they didnt have any crisps or nuts. Overall 4 out of 5, he went above and beyond for us

A group of us recently went for a friends birthday. Nice location, something a bit different, great atmosphere, good food service to table, but hugely let down by the bar. On a busy Saturday night, after 6pm the draft taps weren't working on any lager or beer. So it was only bottles. As the night went on, despite the inside and outside of the venue both being rammed, only the inside bar was open, and queuing up often took between 10-25 minutes per round! Bar staff were clearly busy, but not great at watching who was at the bar waiting. Drink prices were high (even for London) considering the service was so poor. Bar really let the venue down.

Booked a private area for the rugby, they ran out of Guinness. Then implemented a rule where you can't drink pints in the much coveted outdoor area. Sticky floors, terrible choice of beer.. avoid.

Rude and awful. The staff were aggressive. Do not go if you want to dance. We were thrown out without reason, and pushed out the doors. Had ordered buttermilk chicken which I really enjoyed but the next moment was aggressively pushed out the doors with no good reason. Do not go if you're looking for a good night.

I really love this place. Slight walk from brixton station but well worth it. Happy hour means 2 of the same cocktail at £10, and you can tell they are made correctly with high-quality alcohol. I had three long island iced teas and found it hard not to order another! for dinner my friend had the falafel which he said was very fresh and was well presented. I had the fully loaded burger, which was well cooked and tasty. The outside area is lovely, perfect for a date but also for drinks and dinner amongst friends. The staff were friendly and attentive (and even brought our drinks outside for us). We paid at the end which also made it easier to add to our order without trouble, a service many bars and pubs do not offer.

The Grand Union is a great pub/bar. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is good and relatively cheap

A word of advice. Do not book the bottomless brunch after grand union is closed for the Christmas break. With one guy taking on the whole evening. He was the barman, waiter, you name it. Literally cannot fault him but when you're expecting big things it just was not to be. The burger menu was non existent. We were told only the chicken burger was available. And that was it. Pizza could be included. But the burger and bubbles deal was OFF. Whilst having to see to everyone the prosecco glass filling was so hap hazard it was hard to not get frustrated. The chicken burger it has to be said was tasty. But the whole being left a bitter taste in my head that the prosecco once filled didn't help to void.

Tables were reserved for us and when our party became larger than anticipated we were moved to a larger heated booth. This place is brilliant in the summer or winter. Beautiful decor, centre pieces, lights and drapes. It was happy hour when we went so 2 cocktails for £10. Fast and friendly service and drinks were great, not watered down. My colleague wanted a rum punch, it wasn't on the menu but the barman whipped something up. Chilled house music in the background and wasn't too packed. Excellent job grand union!!

Sick venue good staff, the cocktails very really tasty and the toilets were really clean. My friend had a great birthday and we all had a good dance

We had a lovely Burger and Bubbles brunch here for my sister's birthday. Zak's service was generous and very attentive. We even got desert and a candle to mark the occasion. It was a fun and easy afternoon with no drama. We will definitely becoming back!

Arranged to have my birthday here on the 12th of November and booked one of the huts outside - great service, great drinks and great atmosphere.If you haven't been into the beer garden then I would recommend you do so.

Me and my best friend had prosecco and burgers at the grand union in Brixton and had one of the best nights ever. We were served by an extremely friendly barman named Zach who was helpful from the moment we walked in to the second we left. I would highly recommend coming back especially with the 10/10 hospitality service that we had received all because of Zach. Would definitely visit again! Brilliant place, brilliant vibe as well as lovely prosecco and gorgeous burgers xx

Had such a lovely time here with my best friend for the burger and bubbles deal. Really great deal and absolutely amazing place!! Was quite quiet but it was a sunday and zack was more than thankful and rrally great! Absolutely loved the Huts and heaters and will definitly come back!!

The pleasure island garden is amazing! The little huts come with heaters and an intimate area to enjoy cocktail with friends. Our personal waitress Carly was brilliant! The food was top notch, especially the deals on the sharing dishes! 2for1 cocktails before 6pm make a Saturday afternoon/evening perfect!

These days you can get a decent beer selection at most pubs. Including some very good IPAs and other craft beers. Here they just have run of the mill lager which they sell for £5.10 a pint. I know that's kind of standard these days but the beer should be at least fresh. One pint I ordered was definitely not fresh and my mate who was drinking Peroni said his was flat. It is also served in a plastic "glass" which I suppose I can understand as most people were drinking outside. The staff however were very friendly and efficient. The management just need to make sure the beer is fresh and perhaps they should also offer a wider variety of beer.

Great night here at The Grand Union Brixton. Currently having a great time with friendly staff, live atmosphere and overall great vibes. Firstly, I’m not entirely sure why it is called Grand Union “Brixton” as it is actually closer to Clapham North.But anyway, I hired one of the outdoor huts for my 30th birthday, which apparently has the capacity for 30 people … if these were people were bean poles that didn’t mind sitting on each other’s laps, then this would have been correct.The actual hiring process should have been warning enough (getting hold of anyone on the phone was a mission) but by that point I had already paid a non-refundable fee, which I was not informed was non-refundable until AFTER it had been taken. This fee did not then go on to be a drinks tab, it is purely for use of the “30 person” hut.Also, out of all the Grand Unions, this is the only one you have to pay entry for, another factoid that was not relayed to me prior to booking.The overall service received was quite poor and confusing, it took nearly 40 mins for drinks to arrive and proved faster for us to go inside and get them ourselves.The upstairs dance area was quite gross, everything was sticky and there are a lot of plastered guys spilling drinks all over people and not being thrown out.Lastly, if you are unfortunate enough to forget something here, kiss it goodbye because they will have more than likely thrown it out but will put up the pretence that they would never do such a thing.Besides all the above, the décor of the outdoor area is really great with a chilled Thai vibe, the music is also pretty good and the food is fine. It gets packed early until closing on the weekend.It’s just a shame that the service was quite dire, this could be a really awesome place.

I came here for a friends birthday on a Saturday evening. We had provisionally booked a table outside for the amount of £50 and were aware that this didn't include any drink. When we arrived it was pouring with rain (which cannot be helped) but due to that the table and surrounding area were soaked and couldn't be used for the evening. This would not of been a problem if the bar had refunded the £50 but they refused with no sympathy whatsoever. Even when we asked for a drink for the birthday girl to soften the blow they still refused. I cannot believe that somewhere as established as this bar has such poor customer service. Please don't expecting our returning custom or recommendation.

The bar is as you'd expect any in Brixton to be with nice enough staff, not too expensive but you go for the outside space, it's excellent all year round.

A great venue, with a charmingly kitsch outdoor area. Tasty burgers and the unlimited prosecco deal works well if you have a server like Zak. More fizz than you can shake a boozy stick at.

Had some great nights out here previously so decided to venture here for a slightly hungover Sunday session for 'burgers and bubbles' with unlimited prosecco for an hour and a half. Had a fantastic afternoon and the hangover was quickly placated with further alcohol infused euphoria; plus the service was faultless, definitely coming back - thank you Zak!

Came here for a Sunday brunch with a few friends and we weren't disappointed. With the service from Zak and quality of food (I went with the burger) and continuous topping up of prosecco, we had a very pleasant afternoon and be sure to come back for another session.

I was reading the reviews before I book a Thai style hut for my birthday and was surprised by so many good reviews. Obviously I booked without second thought and the place proved to be really good. The garden is just brilliant place for a summer day and the coctails made it even better. I haven't got any negative to mention really. Excellent service, very clear and professional approach from the manager over the phone and quick replies to my queries, really good and quick service from all the waitors! What else do you need to have a good time with friends? Looking forward to going in this bar again! Strongly recommended!

Nice enough venue that's woefully bad on actually serving people drinks on a weekend. We went here for a friends birthday and while the venue itself is ok, it takes an absolute age to get served. A wait of between 20 - 25 minutes to get served is pretty much the norm and happened every single time someone from our group went to the bar.I'm just not sure you need to spend 3 minutes intently stirring an Old Fashioned when you've got a bar that's 3 people deep full of people waiting to get served. I'm just not sure why there aren't more staff on the bar on a busy Saturday night when it's obviously going to be packed. Don't think I'd bother going back. Roughly a zillion other places nearby that you won't have to watch your life literally passing in front of your eyes while you wait for a drink.

This was one of those places you will never forget for a night out. Great company and great crowds. Loved it if your looking for a good night out with your friends its here the place was absolutely end to end people. The security staff where a pleasure to meet and where very professional and polite.

Every time I've been to this place I have a great time with friends and the hostess Ricardo is so helpful and polite. The garden is very well designed with lots of space to sit and chill with friends.

Came here with my mates on a spontaneous little shindig and I have to admit we was really impressed. The pizza was brilliant and the waiter Ricardo was really helpful and friendly. I will be back again in the summer nights it's a really nice atmosphere

I visited here with a friend, my brother and sister in law one Friday evening. It was my friends work leaving do there so went along. The music was fantastic all late 80's, early 90's rnb, hip hop, the cocktails and drinks were the real deal and very reasonable. The bar and door staff were polite and friendly.The decor inside and outside in the garden are fabulous and such a good atmosphere. The toilet facilities were clean too.I will be visiting again this weekend but with my husband. I would highly recommend a visit whether for a drink and/or something to eat.

The beer garden was the highlight of our visit to the Grand Union. It was really different to any I've seen before, with funky private huts and a really relaxed atmosphere. The food was also really good! The staff seemed a little disorganised - there were a few mix ups re: table/hut service and then again with settling our tab. But that aside, I'd definitely recommend it/head back there myself (the waitress must have been having an off day!)

My new summer playground. Went for my cousins leaving do, booked a Hut, amazing. Cocktails are amazing two 4 £10 on Sunday. Food fab. And service impeccable especially Ricardo . He really went above and beyond, was friendly helpful and gave the best tips. I'll defo be back again.

Me and 14 friends came for the burgers and bubbles bottomless brunch for my birthday.... fantastic service from Zack and a really enjoyable time. Very accomodating when it rained too and moved our table inside. Highly recommend!!! Good value, lots of prosecco.

Zack looked after us very well for our friends birthday. The prosecco was flowing for 90 minutes! Once our glasses were empty, they were topped up again. Brilliant food brilliant service.

Basically i have just moved to london with my girlfriend and i tried out the grand union bar in wandsworth. We had a booth in the garden and Edi my couldnt be more helpful. We had complimentary shots and looked after us all night. Tonight i went to the sister bar in brixton and Edi is now working here, he is as good as ever. I would really recommend coming here, you are guarenteed great service and a great new night. Thanks Edi you made my experience fantastic

Turned up for a night out and was greeted by the most boring woman ever who rudely told us we would have to pay and wait to be let in as if she was reciting a script with no enthusiasm.Waited for over 15 minutes whilst we watched streams of people leave the venue and we were still made to wait as the queue got bigger. Been before and the venue and bad chart music is not worth the wait. The boring service from shabby looking door staff actually meant we left before even going in. So many better places in Brixton.

Such a friendly and great place. Being 8 months pregnant, I was a bit nervous about it being too busy it would be etc. We had 2 huts hired for our friends engagement party. The staff couldn't do enough to make sure i was comfortable and safe. Our waitress Alejandro was a star and really made the evening so enjoyable and relaxed. Just fantastic! Will definitely be back when I can enjoy a cocktail or two!

After having lunch with friends nearby we all decided to pop in to the Grand Union. I used to live round the corner about 5 years ago and always found it a great daytime venue in the sun previously. The door staff were friendly enough when we came in. The problem is they are really pushing this cocktail deal. The barmen were working at a snail's pace even with customers building up. Watching the guy make these cocktails so slowly just made me want to jump behind and help him. Funnily enough, the girls I was with wanted cocktails and when after 15 minutes of waiting they finally arrived they were tiny. One of the girls just tipped hers into the other cocktail to make a full one and just ordered a beer instead. This brings me on to the other thing.... For a place with such a large garden and capacity I would have expected more from the range. Only Becks, Heineken and Peroni if I remember. Nothing local or craft. Definitely geared towards the rich Claphamites with no real substance and just seems to be reliant on the fact it has a bloody good garden.

Extremely rude and very aggressive staff. Accused us lying about a booking and when it turned out we were right no apology. One lady in particular provided some of the worst door entry service i have ever seen. Were made to feel unwelcome. Useless and sleazy bar staff who spent all their time flirting with the customers. waited almost 20 mins for a drink. Staff slacking and talking to each other rather than serving.One of the worst bars i have ever been to

As everyone says, the garden is a perfect place for summer afternoons: open and laid back with a great atmosphere. Plus, the new(?) manger stood us free negronis - after a small slip that was hardly their fault. Cheers!

This pub has a really good beer garden that is definitely recommend for a summer drink with bookable little huts for a gathering, a definite recommend for the summer

Hi, I just came to this place today and the first disappointing thing that happened was the attendant took 20 minutes to get my order! We then had a nice burger however when I ordered more food at the bar and got back to the little tents outside in the garden, the manager came outside to give us the food and he couldn't see us as it was raining so I whistled to get his attention. He got very upset about me whistling and then became aggressive and asked me if I had made a joke. He then said he would throw the food on the floor which was incredibly inappropriate! I apologized and said I just whistled because it was raining and I didn't want him to he get wet! Anyway I think he us having a really bad day but he should not bring that to work! It's so sad to see a nice place get ruined by this type of service!

I cannot fault a single thing about the venue, the service or the food. Of course the venue is lovely, it is a gorgeous space- can't wait for summer! But I didn't expect how professional and accommodating the staff would be. Well done!!! We had a great celebration and I've had a few follow up from friends also saying how much they loved it. I came her a few weeks ago after work with some work coleges and I was very surprised.As you walk in it looks like a nice pub/bar but the beautie is in the back outside.The have theses huts where you can stil in which can hold up to 10-12 people per hut.It has a tv and table I think their was about 10 huts all together but the design was beautiful it was like i was back in Morocco or somthing.The outside is quite big and it had more tables with its own design.They had this lovly big stone table with fire in the middle which can seat about 15 people the design was like the knights og the round table.The food was good and reasonable priced and out waiter was very helpful and friendly.A lot of thought went into the design out side i forgot i was in brixton i could of been on holiday plus it was raining so the summer time must be amazing.This is my new spot its a great place to chill with friends while having a drink or a bite to eat! I definitely will be back!!!!

I’ve been here for drinks/a night out in the evening but I actually think it’s underrated for food/lunch too because peoples thoughts are it’s a bar and don’t associate it with food.Sweet Potato fries are tasty as are the burgers (Brioche Bun kind of vibe) and the sandwiches are big, door-stop style sandwiches.Not sure I’d want to sit inside during the day/might be a bit dim. But if it’s a nice-enough day to sit outside it’s great. Kind of rare you get that abundance of outside seating in this part of London.I’ll definitely be returning for a spot of lunch in the sun.

Monday night was very quiet but nice. Had a lovely house leaving drink. Pleasant staff. My friend had a great evening.Overall ok!

Really busy pub. Lots of rules like no fancy dress or sandals (not they applied to me but strange nonetheless). Spent over 20 min queuing for a pint of beer whilst the bar staff were arguing. Avoid.

We rented out a hut for our friends birthday and were given great service by the waitress Danielle. Pizza was good too. Beers are a good price
