The breakfast is good value, it quite a cavernous place with not much light, but it is very much a very British feeling cafe.

We had a snack lunch and then, after our walk, a savoury tea. Service was excellent and the food tasty and well presented, the tea especially appreciated after our hike. Back in the car park, my wife bought an ice cream from the Tea Rooms' kiosk and then left her walking poles leaning against the wall (!) when we drove off. We discovered this when we got home and phoned the Tea Rooms. Without hesitating, David offered to go and see if the poles were still there - which they were - and then have them ready when we were able to return to pick them up during the following week. Exceptional service from a kind and thoughtful proprietor. Many, many thanks for your kindness.

On the spur of the moment we took our dog for a walk near the White Hart Inn and popped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely little touches like treats on the bar. We both had the pork belly with black pudding mash, which was excellent.
