It's ok. The chicken sandwich was nice. The latte coffee is the worst I've ever had. More watery than milky. Salad was not at it's best. Expensive for average food

We had fish and chips Saturday. Staff were brilliant as my mum in wheelchair. Service was excellent just like our meals. Defi come again

Wonderful! Fish and Chips, freshly cooked, piping hot. The staff are very friendly and give great service. If you're visiting- West Beach Cafe is definitely worth a visit.

Average. Much better places to be in Weston. Frosty reception and atmosphere was lacking. Feel like this place should set the bar in Weston but it falls way short.

Very disappointed paid £15 for fish ,chips, mushy peas had to send it back as chips were burnt and looked old and horrible. Fresh lot came out and still disappointed chips still tasted old and crispy. On looking we weren't the only ones who didn't eat their chips.⁷

I used to love sitting outside eating fish and chips till they put benches there instead, benches are no good for us golden oldies. Lovely coffee, i had a burger once but the bread roll wasnt very nice, it fell apart.

This place had litter all over the balcony and everywhere and not very clean. There was seagulls hoovering over you and 2 long hairs within the batter and in 1 portion of fish. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back here.

Had chicken nuggets & chips,must amit nuggets were nice,chips brown and disgusting. Assistant dealing with raw fish didn't wash her hands before serving my food,yuk. Over £8.50 should of gone to a cafe . Out door seating area was dirty hadn't been swept in ages,one bench collapsed. Wouldn't recommend.

Staff pleasant, found it a bit expensive

Although it was very busy today the service and ice cream was great! I was served by a friendly young girl and given my ice cream very quickly.

AVOID This is a difficult one because the food was delicious, servers were brilliant, and the location was unparalleled. However, the way that the manager speaks to her staff is seriously concerning. We witnessed the manager berating a very young member of staff over the length of her break - repeatedly stating her "legal entitlement". This interaction was not only loud and disruptive but also seemed unnecessarily harsh and humiliating for the staff member. The girl was young and from what I could see, she was definitely trying to do a good job. Plus, the cafe was not very busy. After the conversation ended, I checked to ensure the girl was okay, as the situation was clearly distressing for her. I later approached the manager to express my concerns, explaining that while I enjoyed the food and the environment, the treatment of the staff member in front of customers was totally unacceptable. The manager attempted to justify her actions by mentioning that the staff member had received previous warnings, but this did not excuse the public humiliation she endured. From the other Google reviews, I can see that this has been noted by previous customers too so this was definitely not a one-off. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, especially in a professional setting. Do better.

I have so many great memories of this cafe. But recently spent £9 on one hash brown, half a tomato, a sausage, a spoonful of beans and two enormous poorly cooked mushrooms and it wasn't very nice. Very sad.

The portion of fish was small compared to other fish shops but adequate for a meal. If we are being honest, most chippies overfeed you! The overall quality of the food was good and it was lovely to sit on the decking next to the beach. The area is a bit of a magnet for begging seagulls, but that cannot be helped. The cost was higher than fish shops across the road due to it being a seafront cafe. My meal cost £15.80 in total: £11 for small fish and chips, £1 for a bread roll, 80p for ketchup and £3 for a small bottle of Coke.

I have been here a few test since 2019 and even with the difficulty of the pandemic, the standards of the place haven't dropped at all. Prices are what you would expect for a beachfront cafe. Lovely devour, good food with generous portions and very helpful and friendly staff. Always make sure I come here when out for the day in Weston. They also are aware and cater for people with allergen needs such as gluten-free and vegetarian etc. Excellent ✅ Update 2024: I came here again after about a year's hiatus. Perhaps it was an off day but seems standards have indeed dropped since 2022. The fish and chips I ordered was warm at most, average portion size and at £9 very overpriced. It's a shame because I did really like coming, and the view over the beach is lovely.

Met my elderly nanna here who is in a wheelchair along with my aunty and uncle, I came with my dog. The cafe is dog friendly however only outside (totally fine about this, I get that it is a place which serves food and don't expect everywhere to allow dogs). I was very kindly allowed to sit inside as there was no wheelchair access on to the lovely outside seating area. The staff here are amazing, kind and friendly and my family and I were very appreciative of the gesture and good service provided. Coffee was to die for and the fish and chips looked mouth watering. Il be back, again thank you so much for being really accommodating.

Went for coffee and donuts which weren't great. My main reason for reviewing is to highlight the need to for the owners to train the managers on how to manage and train their staff. Staff are often young and inexperienced , that goes with seasonal work. However good training and patient management goes such a long way to help these young people. It's often their first job and a decent mentor is needed. Whilst there, we witnessed the manager speaking rudely to her staff. It was clear that staff had been thrown in without much training and were doing their best with mixed results for customers. Owners, a small investment in management training ( or a new manager maybe) will bring in repeat customers , good reviews and a decent profit for you. Also, quality ingredients well cooked shine through. Our food and drink wasn't the best either. I hope you take this on board. I see from previous responses that this may not happen. Therefore I'll add that, if considering working here, think twice and maybe look elsewhere.

Nice place to pop in for a coffee and a bite to eat. The only slightly disappointing thing was that I ordered a panini that comes with salad and the salad came in a ramekin. I wouldn't classify that as a salad. It was a lovely place to stop, however, sat out the back where you could enjoy the view of the beach.

There is one Old Hag who works here, she is a racist piece of work. Me and 3 of my friends walked in for some Hot Tea after a cold and Windy afternoon, only to be approached by this old Hag of a woman telling us the place is closed. She then changes her story to we are closing in 15 minutes so no food only drinks allowed and pointed us towards a table. We were only after drinks anyway. So we ordered our Tea and Hot Chocolates. We were there for 10 minutes meaning 5 minutes till closing time. However, there were a lot more people coming in and even ordered food. But there was no mention of closing time for them. This is was because we were FOUR ASIAN MEN in a White Cafe. What a Great Experience and Nice Welcome. Makes me sick to know people like this still exist. Yum Yum Yummy! This is finger licking good food! My husband and I always love to get fish & chips when we visit the seaside! On our most recent family day out, with my parents, sister & two pooches, the sun shining & we couldn’t imagine a better way to have lunch! We opted for takeout as we had two dogs, so atend with 5 rounds of fish & chips we sat along the promenade munching down on THE most delicious fish and chips we have had in years! So a big thank you! P.S your batter is Deeee….licious! Sorry in our desire to eat the fish n chips we didn’t take any photos of the food 🙃

we had a fried breakfast that was served icy cold. Extremely disappointing. Pleasant staff and lovely outdoor decking area (Although the umbrellas kept slipping down and banging us on the head, could cause an accident with hot drinks) 🙈

Carte dor ice cream parlour playing loud music with the f word in it with children queuing up for ice cream. Classy Added following reply - I am 100% sure where it was coming from. I was in the queue with my daughters and walked away because of it. It was on the date of the review and there were three staff working there. If I hear that again, I will record it and report you to the council as you could hear it on the promenade. You should be ashamed of yourself for allowing that.

If I may.. 90% of people who dislike something will put themselves out to voice THEIR opinions, WHEREAS only 5% of people WHO enjoy our food and experience tend to give us a review

We had been here before a long time ago. As it was a lovely day, we decided to go again to sit outside. It must have changed hands. You now wait to be seated. There were not many people there, so we had a choice of seating. I ordered a sandwich as I remembered I had a lovely one before on beautiful fresh thick cut bread. I was disappointed as I got a standard sandwich from a medium cut loaf. It wasn't unpleasant but not a patch on the previous one. They have also fenced the whole area off. I don't think we would go again.

Very expensive for very cheap sandwiches

First time buying from here bought 6 donuts they were all grease no donut wish i took a pic b4 i binned them have hot donuts heaps of times from other towns and never had any like these Absolutly unedible and all grease. I wanted to take them back and get fresh but my partner said dont make a scene so he just binned them

We took a spontaneous trip to Weston-super-Mare for May bank holiday and stopped for lunch at Weston Beach Cafe! The staff were friendly, very quick to clean tables and wipe them down. Very clean cafe with the option to dine outside. I love the fact that the waitress asked if we had any allergies. My kids thought is was hilarious when the seagulls came 🤭 They didn't put us off our food & left us alone. The sea view was amazing. Food arrives quickly and was nice. We could even have our food to take away! I'd definitely go there again 😁

Sat both outside and inside over my weekend here and really enjoyed the food. Tastes amazing and pretty cheap. Staff were also so lovely. Unfortunately there were some whiners when we sat inside on Day 2, complaining about having to walk up to the counter to order. I know you’re on holiday, but walking 15 steps does not require much work!

Lovely staff, Lovely place but the food was not equal to the cost we were charged. 3 fish and chips, 2 fish cake and chips, 2 curry sauce 4 cokes £86. Yes that's not a typo ..... £86 Never again sandwiches on the beach next time.

Crap over priced food. Staff can’t even add up the actual cost of it properly and try to seriously over charge you. Chips are frozen chips z if you want proper fish and chips go to a proper place not this mess

The food was lovely but I found a furan body in my batter and nothing was done or said about this the staff just sruged it off and both doors was open all the time and it was freezing 🥶 in the restaurant

Lovely little cafe, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere but if you're looking for proper seaside fish and chips this is not the place. I'd liken the quality to a brewers fayre standard, frozen pan fried type chips, and definitely not worth the price we paid.

First time here, the service was impeccable, staff were lovely and very welcoming, food was to die for, cheeseburger was very well presented, wife's fish and chips were like climbing a mountain...... Most certainly come back here, young lady dropped my burger, replacement was very swift and she couldn't apologise more....... Thank you for a LUSH meal

Nice quirky Cafe I sat in and ordered a Cappuccino and a large Breakfast. The guy on the till was very friendly and welcoming. The service was quick and the food was really good. I have been to a few Cafés and never felt like leaving a review but this one deserves one. Enjoyed everything on the plate you could tell it wasn't the cheap fatty stuff that iv had from other Cafés everything was cooked just right. Thank you

Frozen chips, Chewy batter, Rude waitress!

Giving two stars purely because it used to be good and hoping this was a one off however the staff didn’t say anything to suggest that. Unfortunately they now serve frozen chips deep fried instead of fresh cut chips. Save your money and microwave some Mccain’s as it will be the same! Poor from a seaside chippy!

Great staff and setting. Food was good but a few strange things like salad on the side of a battered sausage and chips, and annoying that in a fish and chip shop, they don't have bottles of tomato sauce, only sachets. Some small things to change and it would be 5* from me.

Took a while to get someone's attention when waiting at the empty takeaway counter. I asked for a vanilla latte and got a revolting white coffee. I'm assuming vanilla syrup was added but couldn't taste it and all for £4.65 didnt even have any froth on top! Should have gone to Costa. Won't be back

Went for a coffee today. 17/10/23, ordered coffee and chips, highly disappointed, coffee tasted watered down and chips looked and tasted frozen. Salt and vinegar were on a table that was dirty. Vinegar tasted off. Chips were cold. Would never go to this place again. The girl serving was on her phone while serving me.

Food was nice some of the best fish and chips in weston fish batter was crispy chips are well Cooked curry sauce lush and the service was quick and they do takeaway and eat in and can sit indoors or out looking over the beach onto the sea

What a let down! We visited today, to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, having enjoyed our last meal in June. The experience could not have been more disappointing. The batter on our cod was more mushy than the peas - although they were inedible. Because the waitress didn’t ask how our food was during our meal I complained to the manageress as we left and was offered a grudging apology but no compensation - nothing off the bill, not even a free drink! The table was only cleared as we were leaving even though there were only a handful of guests. Oh, and it’s not cheap either.

Charged £6:50 for 2 coffees which I can live with but then wanted to charge me £1 to use their toilets because I only had a hot drink and didn’t buy food 😡😡😡

We really enjoyed our fish n chip meals. Fresh, flaky cod with crispy batter and nice dry chips. Serving team were polite , efficient and friendly 5 stars

Went at lunchtime with grandchildren and we were very lucky to get a table. The choice on the kids menu was either battered chicken chunks (3), or sausage both with chips and beans. So, being 5yrs and 2yrs chicken and chips was their choice. Then we had 2 panini. A j2O and a coffee. £39.95 . Yes that's correct!! But then I suppose it is holiday season and you are somewhat captive. The panini were very nice with a little salad and a pathetic amount of coleslaw. 5yr old didn't like the chicken. Waste not want not, but it was a bit chewy. We've been before and the food is generally OK 👍🏻. I would recommend it and would go again.

Busy and squashed seating area inside- but away from eager seagulls. Staff lovely, most of female waiting staff were very quiet and difficult to hear - not good being hard of hearing! The place was clean and music played in background was quite nice. Family fed well. Thank you

Placed on the beach front and near the pier entrance its a little pricey as it targets tourists. Food was good and very good portions, we actually bought meal and split between the two of us. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would like to try thier breakfast next time.

The 2 young staff members yesterday, were very lovely, polite and honestly I wouldn’t have blamed them if they’d been short when taking orders. It was a long and hot day, I’m sure they’d had a run of rubbish customers esp being 7pm and hot but they were extremely professional and smiling. Took our orders quickly, even when my eldest was a bit indecisive! Thank you!! I hope you have end of season bonuses or something! We had donuts, coconut ice cream, vanilla ice cream, slushy and also a marshmallow ice-cream.

Absolute garbage fish and chips. Cardboard tasting, cooked from frozen (probably large bags of cheap chips bought straight from Iceland - the supermarket and not the country!) and questionable, soggy, battered fish. I suspect the fish was neither cod or haddock but something of unknown species/ origins just like the chips. Avoid this place if you want real, traditional, sea-side fish and chips as it will only disappoint you.

Never ever will be getting food here again. It’s the worst fish and chips we have ever eaten. Paid £70 for 5 fish and chips with 5 drinks. The chips were the cheapest frozen chips you could possibly have that are fried with absolutely no taste, it was so bland we had to throw so much away as it was actually inedible. Waste of food and a waste of money.

Very randomly stopped here for lunch (and to hide out of the wind). Fish and chips for two; the fish was freshly fried and delicious. The chips didn't really seem like fish and chip, chips but were still delicious. The servers were really nice and welcoming, not too overbearing. And they even did me a bowl of scraps! Would definitely visit again.

Ordered 4 ice ice creams yesterday later in the day the young girl looked like she was cleaning ready to close . She looked at us like it was an inconvenience and just had this *issed off look on her face if your not happy with your job maybe find another wouldn't go back here again just no need for it

Went in for a drink, didn't have what I wanted. Watched a member of staff sit down with food - she threw at least half of it away.

My family and I brought my inlaws over for lunch. My mother in law agreed with my views that the fish and chips was the worst ive ever tasted. It was actually very oily and lacked any taste at all. In we left most off our food after paying almost £89 for 3 fish and chips, a cheese burger, 2 beers and 3 water. The bottles of water unsealed ( previously broken seal) and had a piece of sticky paper on all the bottles seals. As the pics would show we left to go buy lunch elsewhere without even getting half way through our food. Yes it was that bad..what a waste of time and money. Id never go back.

Getting experience and parking app was not working and forced to pay more with no change given. 2 coffees and a small piece of cake nearly £16 Wsm council rip off.

I’ve had to write a 2nd review as the first one was taken down. I visited the cafe last week. We sat outside as we had our dogs with us. I ordered two breakfasts and two coffees with no problems. We asked to use the toilet and we were asked to pay £1. If there was a charge to use the toilet why not inform the customer on arrival or just put an extra charge on the food bill. From reading the reviews the owner will tell me I paid takeaway prices but my breakfast was served on a plate and we would have sat in side if we didn’t have our dogs with us. I would have happily paid the indoor prices for use of the facilities. The food was ok for the price paid, I’m realistic when it comes to quality. You get what you pay for, the food was fine! We were walking down the beach after leaving and one of the members of staff proceed to shout and swear the beach complaining we hadn’t returned our plate. Never in any cafe or restaurant have I been asked to return my plate. Surely that’s what you pay a service charge for. I did wonder if he wanted me to wash it up for him too. You can see it’s a common theme that the staff at this cafe have an attitude. Very unprofessional.
