A large and airy venue, with plenty of seating. Food did exactly what is says on the tin, and even with a meal mixup, this was fixed very swiftly with no trouble at all!

The Posset Cup in Portishead is a charming Wetherspoon with a lovely ambiance. We had a lovely Valentine's Day meal there, taking advantage of their special offer. The food was good value, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. Highly recommend it!

The car park outside is what makes this a really good spoons, so ideal. Everything else is standard spoons

Decent grub at rock bottom prices. This is a good 'spoons. Atmosphere is usually ok but I find it a bit loud sometimes. Acoustics are not good. Good is good for what it is.

Very happy helpful staff, and tasty food. A good place to go and relax and enjoy the afternoon. Ordered the veggie chilli and when it came it was with no sour cream! And when I went to ask at the bar was told its an extra 30p!!! By the time the bar took the order and when it came the meal was cold and half eaten. It would be good to clear when ordered.

Ordered 5 meals 1 was wrong sent it back and waited 1 hour only to be told by manager meal was not coming and didn't give refund manager was very rude infront of customers or staff

It's a Wetherspoons so you know what to expect. It's a nice 'spoons to watch the world go by whilst sinking a few pints of of Shipyard or Lefe.

Toilets not good, never enough staff behind the bar.

Food is spoons which is OK for price Staff never look happy in their work and poor service Never clean and tidy lots of tables with dirty plates and glasses no matter if they are busy or quiet

The standard seems to have improved in comparison to recent years, Hot tasty food, recommend their curries, nice coffee

Love this place. My grandson has the kids breakfast here with me as a treat every week. The staff are so good with him. You can mix and match from the menu to make up almost anything you want for a meal. For those counting calories it's perfect. Everything is counted for you.

Where can't you eat in Portishead... but faithful spoons fills a hole and a 6 person family size hole in that. For a great value meal. With its roaring fire and clean toilets (the closest I've ever been in) a delight to be served by some great staff. Faithful spoons.. ty

Really busy pub, nice atmosphere. Could only order on the app due to a problem with the tills. The app was playing up and at times, the order wouldn't go through. However, when it did go through the service was quick and food was good.

We called in to the Posset Cup for an early lunch and ordered on the phone using the Weatherspoon's app. It was our first visit. The meal and drinks were delivered promptly. The food was very acceptable and certainly good value for money. Although there were plenty of customers, the pub wasn't too busy and the atmosphere felt chilled and relaxed. The decor and furnishings were tasteful.

The cleanliness of the interior leaves much to be desired... However, the fish and chips were very tasty and I would come back to eat this dish again.

One of the better Wetherspoon's, it doesn't look like blokes go there for a pint of breakfast and the carpets weren't sticky!

Very pleasant Wetherspoons - I'm not always a fan their food is inconsistent. Yesterday, service and food were good.

What's better than a usual Wetherspoons? A Wetherspoons with FREE car parking right outside. The large private car park serves the pub and some well known shops, and is free for up to 2 hours, BUT, using the QR code just inside the pub doorway, you can extend it to become 5 hours free! The pub itself is quite a modern building, but nonetheless interesting in its own right. Portishead itself is quite a vibrant town, with a good selection of shops. A modern marina is just a few hundred yards opposite the pub and is ideal if you had a meal, then wish to walk of some of those calories. I visit this Wetherspoons on a regular monthly basis (between 2pm - 5pm), and have found it to offer: good efficient service; good food and drinks; polite staff; a calm relaxing atmosphere.

One of My favourite Weatherspoons Pubs. Beautifully done. I think it attracts a good crowd there. Friendly Staff. ofc affordable food and drinks. only thing is it can get very busy and loud in there after 5pm like any other pub 😉

Another great wetherspoons. Big pub with plenty of seating. Popped in for lunch on way to Cornwall. Great food as usual. In a busy location but plenty of parking. Really popular place. Ordered through app and no problems. Not a very long wait as usual. Recommended.

Great location, lovely friendly, helpful staff, super decor throughout, clean and well equipped toilets. The whole place has a nice and cozy atmosphere.

Tired of walking into this place and it being so dirty. It’s situated in a lovely area and the pub itself is nice on a good day but over the last year it has gone drastically down hill with its cleanliness. We wont take people there now even for a quick bite and only go ourselves for convenience. The dirty tables and floors are not just on busy days but even during the quieter times. It’s such a shame it was so presentable and tidy especially for a weatherspoons in previous years and we were always grateful for an affordable easy meal after work or when people visited.

It's exactly what I would expect from a Wetherspoon pub. It's housed in a modern retail unit but inside it's been made to look a bit like a pub. It has that distinctive Wetherspoon's smell. I haven't eaten there but I can say that the drinks I've had have been very reasonably priced and good quality, and I've always been served fairly quickly. I would recommend it for a quick pint or two or if you're looking for somewhere with more reasonable prices. If you park in the adjacent car park (shared with Lidl) make sure you enter your number plate into the tabet on the bar to avoid a parking charge.

We really enjoyed our meal at The Posset Cup, I didn't get what I ordered, but I'd been in two minds which one to have, so I didn't complain. There was a quiz on and where we sat the sound system was awful, I got up and walked around the room. There were only a few tables which were affected due to a pillar in the room. I did mention it to the bar staff. This made it just noisy, too noisy for us, so we finished our meal and left.

We had breakfast there. Quite nice for the money you paid. Good price on drinks as all wetherspoos.

I've ordered my drinks but I can have it outside because I've got my dog with me. The Weatherspoon policy is to pay for your drinks, but still, no dogs allowed. Shame. Especially with pets friendly hotels around.

Stopped off on our way back from our holiday for food. Lovely place, great service. However, my friend is Coeliac and although she chose a gluten free option, and spoke to staff prior to ordering regarding food prep and contamination, she became ill within an hour of eating there.

A modern Withies in a great location. Food rarely disappoints.

Made the mistake of ordering a breakfast. Food was barely warm, eggs looked like they were cooked 3 days ago, overcooked bacon tasted like cardboard. One large sloppy mushroom, a few beans and two tasteless sausages. The toast arrived on the same plate on top of the beans so delightfully soggy. There’s a reason it’s cheap. A thoroughly regrettable experience!

Called in for food and beer, good value and great service.

Me and my partner had a mixed grill it was terrible.. My lamb was raw!! Minute stake and chicken dry... So disappointed.. Mentioned it to staff member.. Who just said OK!! This was disappointing.. The week befor I had Breakfast there and it was delicious!! Come on pull yourself together.. For now I won't be back. 😒 But I will keep an I on reviews.

Very light and airy for a Wetherspoons. Great before/after a walk around the marina

Wetherspoon's isn't my favourite, the breakfast is always luke warm the bacon is limp and tastes of all the other things cooked on the griddle,eggs are often over cooked, but my bestie loves it ! However the staff are friendly, helpful and often go beyond the minimum wage. Is this my top pick? Absolutely not!

We popped in on a Friday lunchtime and it was packed but we still got a nice table. Fantastic boozer typical spoons very competitive prices and a really nice menu personally I love the curry’s. The variety of beers is outstanding. Lovely clean table and very friendly staff oh and how reasonable is the food overall I love it. My only negative is spoons stopped serving Fosters. Keep up the good work.

Was very busy and woefully understaffed so service was slow. However, that is not the fault of the staff who were there. They did their best I under difficult circumstances.

We ordered pizza for lunch, it arrived 🔥 and black at the edges. Needles to say it was sent back. After 15 mins a new pizza was delivered again it was burnt. The table staff were very good and apologetic and said that a manager would come to talk to us. After waiting for another 20 minutes with no sign of the manager, we gave up and walked out. Not the best experience, it is unlikely that we will return, it is a shame as we live locally. But portishead has lots of places to eat, this wetherspoons will not be on my list.

My husband and my self when visiting Portishead IBIS Hotel we visit The Posset Cup we love going there for food it has a great atmosphere its clean and tidy we have 2 or 3 meals a day during our stay and great staff they work hard and one member of staff called Ryan is fantastic very friendly making us feel welcome and remembered us each time we went in will be returning again this weekend well done, best Wetherspoons we have visited.

Had a fantastic breakfast for the price, 3 of us had full English and coffee for £22 what's not to like? All cooked well and served quickly. Couldn't give 5 star for atmosphere as it was only 1030 am 😄

Food was terrible. Incinerated burger and a few chips. Wetherspoon is rapidly going downhill. Prices going up and portions shrinking. The place was practically empty which tells a sad story.

My experience of this place is horrible. It's very noisy and everything echo's. Yes it's cheap and cheerful for drinks and food. The whole place needs a revamp and a good clean it has gone downhill to when it first opened. The staff are nice and friendly but seem to be run off their feet due to it being very busy and don't have time to clean down the tables in-between. But it's a very popular venue due to the cheap prices. I prefer quality over quantity. Therefore I didn't stay there very long due to the noise level and I won't be going back.

Thought I would give this place a go. On arrival the atmosphere seems good. I got a table to find none were clean, Even wiping the table down it was still pretty bad. Ordered a sirloin steak medium rare and a pint. Pint was good but sadly the food was vile. The steak was basically pure gristle, I wouldn't even feed it to an animal. The rest was tasteless and not all that warm. So to sum it up. Good if you want a quick pint, but I would go elsewhere for food.

Very dirty, underneath table food, cutlery and tissue sticking to our feet. Sticky dirty table and rude staff who begrudgingly and halfheartedly wiped down but ignored the mess under the table and no apologies offered. We forget to order chips with the kids meal, Moody girl said we would have to order again separately. Staff working here act as though they are too good for the customers. Wouldn’t want to come again, very unpleasant. Food awful too and partner not even given steak knife for his steak. At that point we couldn’t be bothered to engage with the staff again as they couldn’t be bothered to engage with us. It was half empty and they never even bothered to ask if our food was ok.
