Ordered 2 curry dishes driver turned up drunk with no charge black hairs in my food and some of the older missing it want strate back avoid this place

Ordered for delivery at 19:45, food arrived 20:50, phoned twice and the person on the other end of the phone did not sound as if he cared nor did he offer an explanation of why the food was so late.

Been a regular customer with this place until now. Made an order on Wednesday 7th February. Just a simple Chicken tikka with normal rice and a tikka naan. I made this order at 5:40pm and was assured it would take 40 minutes for delivery. It then got to 7:20pm and the food has not arrived… I called up to have any updates and was assured they just sent out the driver. It only takes 5 minutes to drive from there to my house. But no, another 15 minutes go by and I call up very confused as to where my food was as it’s been well over 40 minutes. The caller was insisting that the driver was on my road but he was not. I then had to offer to go out onto the street in my pyjamas. I still had the guy on the phone saying if I said a grey car with flashing hazard lights then wave him down. But as to no surprise I could not see the car. I have had to walk down the street, in my pyjamas, in the cold night to find the driver parked at the end of the road. The driver did not even give an apology for the hassle but just handed me the food. I’ve asked him about payment via card but he just said “ don’t worry about it, we will sort it out another time”.. I was confused and thought he gave me the food for free for the troubles. FYI the food was cold and soggy!!! Then 2 days later I have a bloke who works there harassing and waking up my family at 9:30pm for payment!!! Unfortunately, I was not home at the time so I could not make a complaint there and then! Will definitely not order from here and will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place!

Nice food, took maybe an hour to deliver, wasn't piping hot but not an issue to plate up and give 45 secs in the microwave

Waste of time.... ordered online with a 1730hrs booking slot, food was delivered half hour late and was like warm... Will NOT be ordering from them again.... shoddy is a word I'd use

Ordered at 6.30 and turned up at 9pm . Just as I thought this was going to be my weekly take away spot ! I thought wrong … ordered tonight and can’t believe they even served us this food :( chewy hard lamb , burnt sag paneer , no chilli in curry (main ingredient) chips burnt , no salad ! The whole order was a shambles . Certainly not worth £50. I have arranged for collection and refund but they have still not turned up to collect ?! Edit. - just turned to to collect. At 10pm got a knock on door , opened door and delivery man had ran off ! So called the shop to let them know . They said not to worry they told driver not to worry . Fast forward 5 mins and turns out we have a cherry knocker! Knocked on door and ran away again!! Happened a third time ! I met the delivery driver with absolute rage! I have two children in bed and can not be playing knock knock who’s there all evening !! I handed food back and have now had to turn my door bell off for the evening !! This will definitely br the last time I ever order with this Indian! Angry isn’t even the word !!!!

First time ordering from here as a new resident to nailsea and after reading rave reviews, our order was 40 minutes late to start with, poppadoms not sure what they were folded up burnt pancakes they seemed like or like a ryvita biscuit, chips over cooked, cold, like cardboard and just not nice, curry itself was nice (lamb tikka masala) only half full tray. Spent best part of ,£30 and Will definitely not be ordering again

Worst paneer Tikka masala was like sugar mixed in tomato ketchup. Not worth the money. Poor hospitality as well.

Lovely food, by far the best Indian food in Nailsea, AND they deliver. Great choices, and options for all from kormas to nagas. Highly recommend the jingha prawns and cheesy keema naan.

Nearly always really tasty, but they test your patience with the delivery. Today we pre-ordered two hours prior to when we wanted delivery. 50 minutes late, cold, missing some of the order. Not good enough.

Saag Paneer was burnt. Burnt cheese. Keema naan, had nothing in it. Tika masala was nice but everything terrible and over priced

Consistently late delivery. If you order food from here you can guarantee they’ll be at least 45 minutes late. We’ve ordered from here 3 times and every time it’s been the same with no apology at all

Ordered place at 6:45 for collection at 7:15. Ordered 1 curry and 2 tandoori roti. Arrived to pick up 7:18 and being told food is not ready. From what I gathered, my orders haven't even cooked yet. So another 30 minutes waiting time, and then I heard a microwave machine pinged - in my head I told myself if the guy came out with my food it means that either the bread or the curry that came out from the microwave. And I was right! A guy came out with my food. My first time and last time ordering food from here.

Food was dry, cold and grim eating. First and last takeaway from this place. Probably a reheat from an earlier day. We threw half of it in the bin. Great value!!!!

After having an awful service from Backwell Indian, we thought we'd try one closer to home. Ordered at about 7:15 and our first order didn't arrive until 9:00. We were told to send it back as it would be cold and they'd deliver another. On our second delivery of the night, they ended up giving us the wrong order which we didn't realise until we started eating it and found lamb instead of chicken. Having chosen to not eat lamb in over 20 years I was definitely feeling nauseous. Eventually they came back with the correct order but by this point we were infuriated, it was late and we'd been waiting for 3 hours. The food was alright but definitely not worth the experience

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! ordered at takeaway at 18:25 (man on the phone had no customer service skills and was so quiet I could barely hear him) takeaway didn't show up until 19:50 which is ridiculous I then had to pay £3 more than the actual cost of my takeaway as the delivery driver didn't have enough change with him, I then find that my chips are stone cold and soggy and my curry is also cold, sloppy and pretty much tasteless !, will never be ordering from India cottage again!!!

Good making and ingredients very nice

Very poor. One item of my order was missing when I got home from collection with no regund forthcoming dedpite asking for it. Food was almost cold and stodgy as if cooked 30 minutes earlier. Very disappointing and will not waste my money there again

Back in January I ordered a delivery from the India Cottage, it took 3 and a half hours to arrive and was freezing cold. After that expirence I thought I wouldn't use them again, but I do enjoy the curries even though they are quite inconsistent. Tonight after 8 months deviced to order a curry hoping the delivery and service would have changed however I've currently been waiting 2 hours and it is yet to arrive. I rang the restaurant and they've just said they'll start cooking it now. This confuses me a lot because not only did I order it 2 hours ago, but I also don't know of any restaurant that you have to ring and ask them to cook your meal. But I also don't live that far away from the restaurant. In my opinion I really wouldn't use this Indian takeaway because it isn't the best quality and takes ages to arrive no matter the night.

45 minutes late, wrong food delivered when I phoned to complain was told I was wrong and right food was sent, will never use again

When the order was placed it was due to be delivered at 8.15, an hour after the order was placed. Rang at 8.30 to enquire where the food was and told we'll do it now. Rang again at 8.45 and was told out for delivery. Finally just before 9, almost 45 minutes late it arrived. For some strange reason I had the tandoori chicken I ordered but in a korma sauce instead of butter chicken sauce. Very different if you know your curries. When rang again for the 3rd time to question this mistake I was told the chef hadn't made a mistake and my order was correct. I never want to experience tandoori cooked chicken mixed into a creamy coconut sweet sauce again! No apology or partial refund given. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Had a curry delivery this evening and it was amazing.. I must admit I’m not a massive fan of Indian takeaways but this one was spot on. Chicken was tender, delivery only took 40minutes. Will definitely be ordering again. Thank you!!

Best Indian takeaway I've ever had! Reasonably priced and fantastic quality

Absolutely outraged! We normally order from you and get a very good curry, admittedly it does take 2 hours to be delivered normally but today it has taken 3 hours... we have waited a whole 3 hours for our food... we have tried contacting you nearly 20 times on the phone line and it just says user busy... not only that, once the food arrived we are missing a rice portion and also the food is only slightly warm. Absolute joke.

Ordered food to be delivered. 2 hours later no response. We tried calling numerous times within a 30 minute frame but the line was "busy". Not eating here again, I recommend "Posh Spice" in Nailsea. This deserves 0 stars.

2 hour wait for the food to arrive. Placed two orders in the past two weeks and had to wait 2 hours and 1hr 45 mins on both occasions. The food is excellent and I do recommend it, but I'm not sure if it's worth waiting such a long time for it to arrive. The online ordering system is great, as is the range of options, but once placed there is no indicator of when the food will arrive with you and it's almost impossible to get through on the phone to speak to someone. I appreciate Friday & Saturday nights are busy, and more people are eating at home rather than in restaurants due to Covid but 2 hours is far too long to wait.

My regular curry house. I know they've been going through some tough times lately and this has sometimes reflected in the food quality, hence why I scored 4* not 5... For now. The last 2 Curry's I've had have been spot on. Worth a go folks, recommend the chicken tikka Madras, Jalfrezi and the sag paneer. Tasty, authentic curry IMHO.

Great take away, best in Nailsea in my opinion.

Food still reasonable for the price, but the customer service has really gone downhill. Expect to be waiting at least 40 minutes minimum for the smallest of orders and expect queue jumping from the local Chav population. You too can witness the loud and loutish, place their order, walk out and return in ten minutes and pick up their meals, while you're still waiting. But don't complain or you'll be subjected to the worse customer relations back chat imaginable including being accused of lying about how much time has passed. Personally, I can do without the "small town mentality". I'll be finding somewhere nicer to get my takeaway so. "Enjoy your Meal" when it eventually arrives.

The best takeaway in Nailsea in my opinion because the staff are very helpful and friendly and the food it outstanding! The prices are very good and you get plenty for your money, highly recommended!
