Jaan Indian Express in North Somerset

Ordered delivery through website and made payment. No confirmation, no food, no answer. After further investigation found a notice on google saying temporary closed. Why are you running your website as usual and taking payments. What a waste of time and want my money back.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Payed for an order to collect and when I got there it was closed for refurbishment and opening under a different name

This is closed! But they are still taking peoples money for online orders and nobody to answer the contact number!! Absolutely disgusting they are still taking people’s money surely there is a law for this! The website doesn’t even mention that it’s closed

We’re visiting Weston Super Mare and my husband wanted some desi halal food. The pilau and lamb masala were fresh, hot, and delicious. The best meals we had.

My friend placed an order on 20th April as it was my birthday and we wanted a takeaway to celebrate. The order seemingly went through but nothing arrived. Phone calls were not answered but the money was taken off his card. Turns out they were closed for renovation but there was nothing on their website to say this and it said our order had been confirmed. Had a job getting hold of them but they said they'd sort it when they reopened on 22nd and that it had happened to other customers too. My friend spoke to the owner who promised to ring him but didn't. When he finally got hold of the owner he demanded my friend who's agoraphobic come round to the restaurant to sort it so they also discriminate against the disabled! My friend was also told if he got a refund he'd have to accept that he wouldn't get all his money back because it had had cost the owner 20% for him to place the order. We told him in no uncertain terms that that was completely unacceptable as they shouldn't be accepting orders and taking payments when they're closed! To date my friend hasn't had a refund despite emailing daily to remind the owner and is now escalating it with his bank. This is appalling and tantamount to fraud. This was our go to place for Indian food but we'll never use them again. Avoid!

Jaan was always my first choice when I lived in WSM. Im back from the US and tried Jaan and it was disgusting. The tikka was oily with off cut hard chicken and was overpowered by slimy onions. The Dansak has 1cm of oil floating above the sauce, the poppadoms had that burnt oil taste( obviously reheated) and they forgot the rice and no salad with the chicken Tikka. One taste and it was in the bin. think it has new owners who have taken it from very good food to the worst Indian I have had. AVOID!

Placed order and paid at 18:45 with delivery scheduled at 19:30. Within 2 mins of paying delivery time changed to 20:30. After 2 further phone calls delivery arrived at 21:00 - minus the portion of chips that had been ordered and paid for. The food was hot however most of the Lamb in Shashlik Bhuna was inedible, the chicken in the Madras was also tough. The Bombay potatoes themselves had no flavour (like a boiled potato) but sauce over them was very hot. This has been our go to takeaway for many years, but after this experience never again.

Great tasting food, but late and forgot a side dish I'd ordered. So the restaurant owes me £4.95.

Awful dining experience. Worst I've ever had. Two hour wait for food that didn't come in the end because we walked out! Only paid for the drinks When the food was ready to come out we were given dirty plates to eat off, my plate has stains and bits of rice on it. Disgusting adding insult to already hungry customers. Service was rude awful, and the one lady on front of house was dim. Seriously avoid, I'm sure there are better Indian restaurants in Weston.

Order sent wrong, they did correct it but no compensation. Have used the Jaan for over 13cyears, under new management now and nowehere near as good as it used to be. Food average. Will be trying elsewhere.

The food is absolutely amazing the Indian in the south west... We will be eating here again . The vest part is its affordable. I know old owners put the prices up but these guys have made ot affordable again x

Had many a kurma here and every time it's been the best curry, they also have other tasty food such as a nice selection of naans and sagaloo. Normally i get takeout so I can't comment on the physical restaurant but the food is a 10/10

Well we have moved tryed a few Indians I saw janns still doing Indian takeaway and must admit the best so from now on janns all the time great meal great service

Most expensive take away I have experienced, not much chicken in the meals for the price, not the best meal but not the worst I’ve had, the only totally round Nan I have ever had also covered in flour not nice at all, will never return, I’ve had cheaper sit down meals a total rip off, had take away 2 weeks ago for the same items and was £8 cheaper,

Been here for the first time. Food compared to other takeaways is a bit tastless but still satisfying. Not enough salt and not enough spices, but I guess you can't satisfy everyone. The service was OK, but when you see the person behind the till in shorts and a T-shirt is not very appealing. Haven't dined in so can't say...

Absolutely no flavour to the curry, given the wrong naans and the restaurant didn't want to help at all. Inedible, had to throw it away.

Mediocre food at high prices. My peshwari naan was just a large chapatti folded in half with sugar and coconut in between. Inedible. Curry was swimming in oil. I will NEVER go there again.

This was all the meat in a tandoori mixed grill plus a mixed tandoori starter! I had to make a corned beef sandwich after and after spending £17.20 I was expecting to at least be full!! Also lamb was as dry as sand!

Food was very chemical and although we ordered chicken dishes there was a strong taste of fish throughout both separate meals. The rice was undercooked and hard the poppadoms tastes like they had been smoked out overall very disappointed for a £30 order. On the plus food was delivered 20 mins before they said.

Still open for home delivery in our time of needs.

Amazing takeaway. Really delicious and fair prices. Very nice fresh salad thrown in, far better than the limp effort you get from some other places. Very tasty onion bhajees and great flavours. Highly recommended.

Bland food, the first time iv ever has to put salt on a curry!! Had to pay 70p extra for my curry to be mild, it was as weak as a Sunday roast I had to put chilli flakes on it. Don't order the sag paneer!

Love this place their king prawn dansak is fantastic! In fact I'll be ordering from them tonight! Best curry in WSM!

Weston super mares best Indian takeaway.

A very clean and well presented Indian restuarant with very friendly staff. We have been here quite a few times and have never had a bad experience. They also do delivery which is great if you want the same food experience but in the comfort of your own home. Comfy seats and great service at the restaurant, and I would say it is reasonably priced as well. I would definitely suggest giving it a try. I certainly will keep going back there.

never again utter rubbish i ordered a chicken pathia this is a dish i like and know well. for those that dont know its a sweet and sour tomato based sauce with your choice of meat or veg. i have never seen it with a wedge of lemon thrown in before? i dont know what the chef was thinking and not one sign of a tomato. the nan bread was more like a dough ball raw in the middle undercooked it was more like not cooked at all. i hadnt used this place for over a year since my last bad meal here, but after reading the reviews i thought things must of changed, NO still rubbish sorry i might try you again in a year, no i will not im not eating this rubbish again.

Positives..... 1, Polite on the phone Negatives..... 1, £28 for a chicken rogan josh with pilau rice, a lamb bhuna with mushroom rice and a cheese and garlic naan bread and a side of sag aloo. 2, 1 hour and 6 mins delivery time, rang at 8.18pm arrived at 9.24pm on a quiet Wednesday night. 3, naan bread cold, lacking cheese and chewy 4, all 3 dishes literally swimming in oil as you can see in the pictures. Large crystal shot glass nearly full 🤮 5, lamb chewy and tough not soft and tender. 6, both main dishes very watery and lacking in flavour. 7, paid by card no receipt given to me with the delivery. If anyone employed at jaan reads this review please learn from this as you have a lot of good loyal customers that have given you fantastic reviews and feedback on here. I'm not one to moan and I very rarely leave negative feedback and reviews but this food was god awful 🤮

Was so happy to find an Indian restaurant while I'm here for the weekend! The staff was absolutely wonderful and the food was amazing! Ate in the restaurant and afterwards it was no issue getting the rest of the food in a bag to take with me and eat later. Highly recommend this place!

I have only tried the takeaway. The quality of the food was up to a high standard and the speed in which it was made was very good, friendly staff and would definitely recommend to friends.

As per usual the food was excellent, service pleasant an speedy. Kwas, s resteraunt remains our go to place.

Big statement this, in all the years I have eaten Curry, and I have had a few :) even from the 1st ever Egon Ronay approved one, that this without doubt is the finest curry I have EVER eaten, food is hot , fresh and not swimming in oil (ghee) you wont go wrong eating or having delivered from here, I wish to extend my thanks to the chef,cooks and owner you have a superb business here, you have my business to I get to fat :) awesome food...….

Not happy with food.my dish was very watery and not alot of meat or flavour. Not good value for money

Portion size, reasonable service and venue decor are the main reason for 3 stars, otherwise I might have rated this place lower. The food was ok, but I had to ask for it to be made spicier as my chicken biryani was too mild. The other reason it didn't rate any higher were the exorbitant prices for sundries (£2+ for chapatti and even higher for plain rice). The curries were moderately priced in comparison, and so was the biryani (hence the reason I chose this dish). Maybe I'm biased because in Greater Manchester with the number of restaurants competing for custom in the Curry Mile, we have been spoilt for choice with good food at great prices!

Great food, best Indian takeaway in Weston.

Based on the good reviews we walked from the centre of WSM to this restaurant, we arrived at 9.55pm, the advertised closing time is 11pm. Even though there were no customers, we were turned away with "we're only doing take away now". Thank you to the Jaan manager as we went into town and had an incredibly good Mexican meal with superb service.

3 hairs in my meal. Absolutely disgusting! My night was ruined.

Having been ordering take away from here for a number of years, we finally got round to eating in recently. The decor is lovely - relaxed, but smart and light (needed in a deep restaurant with windows only at the front). The service was excellent and the food up to the usual standard. Lovely - will return.
