Very bad needs all new furniture and more friendly staff

The staff at Costa were really helpful and friendly they even recommended a new vegan cake to me. Abby and staff made me feel really welcome and I definitely enjoyed my experience there. I will definitely be back very soon.

5/5 for the staff. The two ladies serving were lovely. Can't believe they have to put up with all that drilling noise all day 5/5 for the appearances for the hot chocolates 1/5 my daughter and I had sore stomach's for the rest of the day so something wasn't right

Just had Poppy and Scarlett serve myself and my brother. Poppy was teaching Scarlett how to do a frappe as she is new. They both held down a conversation with me and made a cracking salted caramel frappe with such lovely good nature. Customer service always wins out.

I recently visited Costa Cafe on Portishead's High Street and was impressed by the quick and polite service. The staff created a welcoming atmosphere, making my experience enjoyable. The coffee was excellent, and the overall environment was great for a relaxing time. Highly recommend!

Called in here with my wife and granddaughter about 4.15pm. Very quiet but loads of new competition now in portishead.If they have put Ashley in to bring the branch back up to spec then they have chosen very well. She’s a star and they need to look after her. She was running it single handed hopefully she can keep this branch going. Ashley 😏👏👍.

What a dismal experience... I almost exclusively use Costa for lunch treats, but I shall never stop at this one again. The lad who served me and my wife on this occasion had a terrible attitude towards customer service, and whilst we were trying to get an answer regarding why the Costa card reward hadn't worked, he merely turned around and walked away to heat the food. His colleague who was making the drinks was as equally unhelpful, bar pointing out that a reward on my wife's account was only for weekend use (I'd offer a separate 2 star rating for her). When asking for two slices of the cake that was on display with no card denoting what it was, the lad didn't offer due diligence in advising us what it was - instead he just rang it through the till and messing up the Costa card process meaning a discount wasn't applied. As a former manager of a retail environment, I'd be mortified to know that this is the way my staff operate. If it was busy I'd almost understand the unacceptable service but we were the only ones in the queue, with just two other people in the whole shop! Oh, and just to add, the cutlery was dirty to boot! At least the cake was pleasant. Edited to add: We're busy eating, and this lad is stood behind the till picking at his beard, just as an older couple have come in and he's now serving them, hands unwashed... call me knitpicky, I just expected damn good customer service.

Just another Costa coffee takes a long time to get so get here early

The staff in Broadmead Bristol branch on July 5th at 5pm need to go to the Portishead branches to be retrained.

I popped in for a coffee and a slice of cake. Service was prompt and polite, and I spent a leisurely half hour there

Just called in for coffee, no frills, service ok, just basic really

I visited mid-afternoon on a Friday and there was no queue and service was prompt. I had a flat white and toastie and both were very nice.

I asked for a grande size coffee, whilst I know it's not starbucks because starbucks staff are never rude, I was asked twice what size I wanted....while she wanted to make a point that she was not starbucks and told me she didn't understand the word Grande....this was while there was a long line behind me listening to her reprimand me on costas choice of wording.....rudeness to the enth degree. This was the manager.....

Busy for Christmas. Two members of staff. Could have done with more

It was freezing in there, I asked staff about the heating and was told there wasn't any which was a shame. Only one loo working as well. Food and service fine. I was with my elderly mum, so reluctant to go back again.

Best coffee I've had in a 'Costa' for awhile. However, if you want to flip open your laptop & hard hit those keys - head elsewhere - ONE SOCKET! 😱

Just had coffee.. rather large even for a medium. Tastes good though! Partner had Cortado..only place you can get them.

Not much seating as it gets quite busy being on the main high street. Often a queue here but again mostly because it is busy. They have changed their opening times as it used to be open until 6 but now only until 4. Limited parking around the site and however this sometimes can be dependent on what time you go. Two toilets are available on site too.

Having queued for 10 minutes to get to front of the queue, I was then told I would have to wait another 10 minutes because they had phone orders to fill. They were still taking requests on the phone for more of them as the queue grew longer. Even though the now 9 people in the queue had already been waiting for what was now 15 minutes. I am a long time user of costa and must have spent thousands in their coffee shops . Really disappointed to be treated this way. I left the shop and went elsewhere .

Really lovely Costa. This store is of medium size. Plenty of seating inside and outside. It's very clean, tidy and the staff are efficient with cleaning the tables quickly. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The drinks are made efficiently and are spot on for taste. Plenty of choice of cakes, sandwiches and snacks. Toilets available here, which were clean.

Honestly won't be using the High St Costa again, as one of the staff members (older woman, about 5'3", tied back in a ponytail, local accent) is so consistently rude and unpleasant (snappy, grin faced, doesn't reply when I try to talk to her, dreadful customer service) that it just ruins an otherwise mediocre experience. The other staff are always friendly, the loo is shabby and dirty, the service is slow and the coffee often lacklustre. It's convenient, but really fed up with the ignorance from this one staff member.

Very rude staff, too busy gossiping amongst themselves which added to the very slow service. Will be using the marina Costa in future.

My coffee was good other half didn't like their hot chocolate. Also the rippled protective sleeve in my cup came off after a couple of minutes with out any interference

Some staff in here are friendly. Costa coffee and food is always a win for me. Great little stop for a coffee on the Portishead high street.

Decent food and good coffee but what you would expect from a Costa.

The food is expensive but taste less

Took over 20 minutes to get 3 coffees. There were 3 members of staff serving and making coffees, with only two customers in front of me in the queue. It took 11 minutes to take my order and another 11 minutes after that to get my coffees. The staff had no urgency or sense of purpose and quite frankly was the poorest customer service I've had for a long time. I appreciate it is Sunday but I didn't expect to be so frustrated at the lack of customer focus.

Service so slow!! Took 15 mins for the guy behind the till to Count the money I gave him, I'm not one to complain about service but this took the mick. I had to ask how much the bill was as the guy just stood there waiting for me to pay without telling me how much it was, staff that were on (Sunday just gone) need to engage with Customers and a smile wouldnt go a miss

Having explained that we could not carry the tray to table (due to injury) we asked if they'd mind bringing it over, they did but waitress dumped it down & left us to unload tray! Are they not aloud to unload tray onto tables?

Lovely coffee shop in the heart of Portishead. Staff are very friendly and quick service, especially as I visited on a Monday morning! Managed to find time for two cups of Soya Latte and they were divine. Seating outside too in the glorious sunshine watching the world pass by. Will visit again when in the area.

If you want your coffee in a hurry, don't come here! Tables are dirty, staff are unbelievably slow no matter how many customers there are. Save yourself the hassle and go next door to the lounge.

Relaxing Costa with nicely made coffee. A little more refinement in service would make this 5 stars, but on the cold windy day I visited I was more than happy to spend an hour here in comfortable surroundings with good coffee, and free wi-fi.

Standard Costa Coffee experience

Standard costa with a healthy outdoor seating area. Drinks options are good, lots of choice, my favourites are the coolers. My main frustration was the amount of time it takes to get served, it 15mins to serve 3 people.

Love this Costa. I park around the corner so makes it easy to visit. Good drinks, nice inside. Good location on the High Street.
