Westmead Hotel Bar & Cafe Lounge in Bromsgrove

Probably the worst customer service I’ve ever had. Left a toiletries bag at the hotel and it mysteriously went missing. Upon continuously calling the hotel - and the manager being unavailable; I was finally told there was nothing they could do about it. I have absolutely no faith that if I was to ever stay there again my belongings wouldn’t go walkies.

A great day and the staff was great for my mum married and the breakfast was great

Pretty good considering the price, rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Food was decent enough. Staff very friendly. Would stay again for work.

Bar menu was basic, breakfast was good. Room clean and tidy

Were here for a family wedding. Had a wonderful couple of days, rooms were comfy and clean. Food was very good and the wedding was well planned and went off without any problems.

Slow service, attended for a funeral tea, very slow in getting food out, and it didn't look outstanding, but it was OK.

Went here today for santa Sunday and I won't ever return. We have been every year for the last 5 years, the dinner was shockingly bad for the price paid I expected more then two piece of rubbery turkey and three roast potatoes. The kids had pizza that looked like it was cooked with a flame thrower. There wasn't even a dj or a place for the kids to dance and getting a drink took about 25 minutes because the card machines weren't working. I feel like we have been robbed

Great restaurant and good service, the rooms are very nice as well, includes a bath.

We really didn't expect such a great hotel, we booked it just really somewhere to lay our heads whilst on a long journey. The hotel is wonderful, the staff are wonderful and the food is incredible. Ryan who looked after us in the restaurant was a complete credit to the hotel. If any start up hotels need a template, then they should study this gem of a place, which got it right at every step. Well done!!

I was a little disappointed by the visit here. The room was comfy and the shower das hot. I was underwhelmed by the food. What you at in the photo cost £8!

El almuerzo del domingo fue una experiencia encantadora en Westmeads Hotel. Recomiendo totalmente si te apetece un almuerzo o cena de domingo con amigos, familiares o para cualquier ocasión. El restaurante está muy bien decorado, es muy cómodo y limpio. La comida era deliciosa y el precio era muy razonable. . El personal nos atendió y fue muy servicial a nuestras necesidades. sin duda volveremos a ir. . 😊👍

I booked this for one of my Directors and this was the feedback: "cold, scruffy, poor food, soulless and I waited 40 mins for breakfast, cold hard poached eggs. other than that, fab :). On a positive, big bed and clean enough". Improvements needed!

The staff at The Westmead are very helpful and supportive. The rooms and communal areas are comfortable. Only suggestion would be the front of the building needs a lick of paint to make it brighter as currently looks a bit run down.

Nans 98th Birthday Meal - pre order completed, not enough mains cooked. 30 people in the room with 4 guests didn't even receive a main. Sides were cold and the service is tbh was crap from both the restaurant and bar....disappointing as should have been a lovely day.

I did bridal hair for a beautiful queen. Pretty hotel. Loads of parking for guests.

Seven wonderful nights. Bar, restaurant, and reception area are modern, clean, and tidy. Breakfast hasnt disappointed either. Staff have all been friendly beer isn’t badly priced and restaurant menu has a good selection and priced fairly also. Popular for weddings.

Fabulous evening for the reggae night. Chicken and chips in a basket went down well.

Afternoon tea was a delight. All nice and fresh and a great selection of sandwiches and cakes etc. very highly recommended and will certainly be back for more. Nicely presented and the staff were very good, just the right amount of attention paid to us! I can honestly say I’ve been to a lot of different places for afternoon tea and this would knock spots of many of them! Lovely

I had my wedding at your place on Saturday and it was the best day ever the food was beautiful and the people that looked After us was great we all had the best time thank you all so much

I would give no stars if I could. I went for a meal here because my child was hired as a chef the food what not the best they told me this is because non of the food is fresh and all from a packet. My child was also treated appalling as a member of staff and picked up and dropped by the head chef when he felt like it. Thank god they have now left as it knocked their mental health tremendously!

We had our wedding at the westmead Hotel on 30/04/2024. From first contact through to the day of the wedding our experience was second to non. All staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, polite and professional. They looked after us and all of our guests exceptionally. Everyone to a person came and told us how amazing it was. I cant recommend it highly enough. Thank you EVERYONE at the Westmead hotel for giving us an unforgettable experience.

Would give 5 stars, the rooms are big and clean, the staff were lovely but we were told,after we were charged, that the breakfast should have been free... we were with a wedding party... the breakfast itself was cold, the coffee and tea were also cold... I asked for soya milk but they had none... my only problem with the rooms are the number of stairs to get to them... I did mention that I have a disability but was told that there was no lift or other way of getting to my room.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here, one of my birthday presents from my daughter. Nice tasty selection, and had to take some home in a box as there was so much food. Our server was attentive and polite, and all in all was a lovely experience. Highly recommended

We stayed in spacious clean bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was good. The only downside is that having a mobility disability there are only two disability parking spaces and both occupied by cars not displaying blue badges. Receprion does not take vehicle details so no way to get drivers to move their cars.There are no lifts and rooms can only be accessed via steep stairs

Me and my fiancée stayed for the night in a suite which was beautifully presented for my birthday. Petals on the bed chocolates delivered to my door with an happy birthday and champagne finished it off. My fiancée had one of the best strawberry daiquiris ‘she has tasted’ made for her of which can we praise the staff as the service was impeccable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends in the future.

A delayed review. I stayed overnight to attend the Wedding reception of two lovely friends of mine at the end of December. The room I had was terrific; clean, spacious, a huge comfortable bed and a large bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Breakfast on the following morning was excellent; everything freshly cooked, the sausages were still sizzling when they were served. The staff - from reception on arrival to the bar staff during the event itself were great, very professional and polite. The Evening event itself was wonderful! I even danced, a rare sight. It was a memorable stay. The hotel is ideally situated near the M42.

First stay & not disappointed. Room was very spacious, clean & comfortable. Staff were excellent. Nice bar area & food in the bar was to a very high standard. Steps & stairs would be an issue to anyone with mobility issues & there are no walk in showers in the rooms, although I believe the hotel is due to be refurbished.

Great hotel with clean, comfortable rooms with really big beds even Hugh Hefner would have appreciated. Decent bathrooms too.

Attended a Motown night last Friday. £17.00 for a breaded Chicken steak and a few skinny fries (remember chip sticks…) very expensive as is the wine, £9.00 for a large glass! Didn’t have many as most of the night there was only 1 person (though lovely service) behind the bar and there was about 100 in the room. So, waited a consistent 20 mins each time to get served. DJ was good. Didn’t stay so can’t comment on the rooms.

Lovely hotel, would highly recommend it to others, plenty of great parking bays, nicely set back so it's ideal if you want to escape a busy life and work schedule and want somewhere to switch off and relax.

My hotel of choice if I am away with work. Always friendly, decent rooms and pretty quiet. The bar is also great if you're dining solo; the menu is good and you feel more than comfortable being on your own. Parking is free and just a minute's walk into the hotel reception.

Christmas dinner was not very good. Service was really slow but not the staff’s fault. Four people serving. Food came out missing four items. Had the turkey and it was terrible. Wouldnt book again. Not worth £79 each. Tasted like they shopped at Iceland. None of us finished the food.

We booked a table for lunch in the restaurant. First of all, it was disappointing that there was no tablecloth on the table yet, on adjoining tables that were set out for afternoon tea, there were tablecloths. Double standards! We all ordered battered cod for our mains but unfortunately my fish was still raw inside. By the time a replacement meal was brought to the table, everyone was finishing their meal……

Took my mum for a lovely Sunday lunch. We were sadly the only people in the restaurant which is a real shame because the food and service were excellent. It was my first time ever at the Westmead but we weren’t disappointed

We had a lovley night to celebrate a 85th birthday the food and service was great, The staff could not do enough for you , Amy and Theo looked after us all and we can't thank then enough , if you have a special celebration I would highly recommend.

I ate at the Westmead last night and it was a really enjoyable experience. The staff were really friendly and efficient. The food was very well presented and of good quality. The atmoshere in the bar area is informal & welcoming and the surroundings are modern and stylish. I would recommend a visit!

Five of us had a Saturday lunch at the Westmead and everyone loved their meals. Highly recommended are the fish and chips and the chicken curry. The owner was on-site and helped to provide excellent service (along with the waiter/bartender). Excited to see they had Johnnie Walker Blue at the bar with a touch left in it so we finished the bottle.

Visited the restaurant at lunchtime as a group of five with two teens. Service was great - bar manager / waiter was excellent. Very efficient, friendly and sorted out an issue with my son’s steak really well and without any fuss. Really lovely food and well presented - just had lunchtime snacks / burgers / sandwiches and drinks but would definitely go back. Felt really relaxed and covid secure. Not rushed off to leave either. Thank you!

The steak was absolutely delicious, the daiquiris was thirst quenching and the service was so helpful and polite. 100 recommend this place

Went on a Thursday for 241 pizza - not too busy but only 2 staff plus one on pizza oven, therefore, waited over an hour for our pizzas

Now I fully understand that we took advantage of the 'Eat out to help out' offer. It is the main reason we decided to give it a go having lived in the area for so long and never visited. Prices always looked above average and wouldn't have taken the risk otherwise, that's the beauty of the offer, you can try to find new eateries that you wouldn't mind paying full price next time and you could have a new place to frequent! Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Staff were fine, no problem at all. Polite, not invasive. However the food was a different story... Now I didn't complain, we were paying £20 less with the offer after all and were thankful for it. The tartlet my better half had was rubbery and not inspiring. The buffalo wings I had were just deep fried wings and the edge feathers off the tips hadn't even been fully removed. No buffalo coating - the seasoned flour and hot sauce before deep frying - had been added,or added after. They literally were deep fried and seasoned extremely lightly with cayenne and served with an uninspiring sloppy blue cheese dip. We ordered the slow cooked pork and mashed potato which looked like just a roast dinner only smaller with what seemed like frozen green beans, a few carrots and mash with a light gravy. I had the Cajun chicken which was supposed to come with Frank's hot sauce but was served with BBQ sauce instead. A few frozen chips, coleslaw with too much mayo ( it happens often, the mayo is only supposed to bind the ingredients, not ' be' the ingredient). The chicken was moist which was good and it was hot. In fact both meals were at least hot in temperature. I ordered some Nacho's as a side but they got forgotten. Not the end of the world and we were offered a free dessert by the staff which, although declined, was appreciated. The menu seemed scaled down which meant that we couldn't actually test the menu fully to actually judge if we would go back. On the basis of the poor food we wouldn't go back anyway. It's a shame, just small things like perhaps homemade chips or the coating on the wings, they aren't difficult to do, I'm in the trade myself. By making a menu innovative and injecting passion into it, it also has a knock on effect on the waitering staff who soon love to serve food that people rave about and get a real buzz out of it.

Dine out to help out ??? Sounds good but when staff finally give you the bill without the discount and want you to pay straight away it’s a joke No one asked if our food was ok or cleared our table or asked if we wanted deserts which we did so they lost out there .... Booked in advance arrived prompt took over an hour to get 3 pizzas And altogether 2 hours 15mins Saving grace was pizza was pretty good Staff appeared grumpy and service was very lacklustre and that’s being generous Will not be going back

We Were really looking forward to our meal as have heard good reviews.. Unfortunately felt very disappointed The flavour was lacking .a very unsatisfactory meal .the atmosphere felt like a funeral pallors waiting room . On the plus the staff were ok however didn’t ask if meal was ok so I never had the opportunity to mention the meal was below expectations and we were not happy Will not be returning

I have eaten Sunday lunch at the Westmead several times and have been impressed by the food and service. Today the service was poor and the staff grumpy. I do think management need to train staff more if the restaurant is to compete successfully with other local pubs and hotels.

Just been for Sunday lunch and the staff were excellent they couldn’t do enough making sure our meal was good, the lunch itself was excellent plenty of vegetables and roasted potatoes will definitely going back

Fuimos en familia con 2 niños para el almuerzo del domingo. El restaurante era muy cálido y acogedor con una camarera amable que era muy buena en todos los aspectos del servicio. La comida era totalmente increíble, muy buena calidad recomendaría visitar el restaurante, la comida era de muy buena calidad y totalmente deliciosa en los 3 platos. La habitación era cálida y la decoración muy bonita y moderna. Los baños muy limpios, todo en una experiencia muy encantadora lo recomendaría encarecidamente. El personal hizo todo lo posible por complacer.

Tuvimos un grupo de 25 empleados de una compañía local que reservaron una noche de fiesta de Nothern Soul para nuestra función navideña. Este evento tuvo un precio muy razonable y asequible, ya que gran parte de nuestro personal son trabajadores de atención y trabajamos para una organización benéfica y nuestro presupuesto es limitado. La cena de 3 platos servida fue perfecta y la disposición de la habitación y la discoteca fueron geniales para tal función del personal. Fue un lugar ideal para que todos volviéramos a casa sin grandes tarifas de taxi. El personal también fue muy trabajador en la noche y, finalmente, el vino en el Westmead era de muy alta calidad. Gracias por hacer de nuestra noche un gran éxito.

Nos alojamos aquí por 5 noches y tuve una estancia muy agradable. El personal del hotel es muy amable y el hotel estaba impecablemente limpio. La cena en el restaurante es extremadamente buena y la oferta especial del jueves de 2 por 1 pizzas y cócteles a mitad de precio tiene un valor increíble y excelente.Atmsophere agradable y tranquilo, amplio estacionamiento gratuito e Internet gratis.Vale la pena una visita para quedarse, comer como no residente o tomar un café.Bien recomendado

Visité el Westmead para el almuerzo del domingo y qué gran comida tuvimos. Todo lo que pedimos estaba caliente y delicioso. El personal era tan servicial y educado como siempre y siempre es un placer visitarlo. Se ofrecieron degustaciones de vinos y también Piston Gin estuvo presente con muestras y estuvieron felices de compartir sus conocimientos y consejos. Una tarde encantadora todo el año. Esperamos volver pronto.

Alquilé una habitación privada para una fiesta para familiares y amigos. Nada era demasiado para el hotel. La comida era excelente, el servicio excelente y la habitación magnífica. La habitación era muy cómoda y tranquila.Gracias a todo el personal por hacerlo una ocasión tan maravillosa.

probably a nice stop over point, best part of the hotel was the bar, staff there were very friendly and polite rooms were very spacious. with a very large bed but décor quite tired and needs a bit of a revamp, the plug was broke and got stuck in the bathroom sink, reported it to hotel reception man came and had a look and that was it, it was still broke on my departure two days later. If there is a venue ie a wedding and your a hotel guest not a wedding guest, forget it, I like to take evening tea in the bar area, tables dirty not enough bar staff very disappointed very disorganised at weekends. Breakfast nothing special

I live local to the Westmead and often book our company visitors into this establishment. The staff are excellent especially Katie who looked after us at lunch time. The level of service and attention to detail are second to none. Highly recommended 👍

After shopping in Birmingham, decided to stop at Blake's Bar in the hotel to unwind. So pleasantly surprised, was welcomed by bar staff(Notic) and really loved the bar set up. We had a mocktail and a cocktail, which were beautiful presented.and delicious. The atmosphere was calm and think could suit a variety of occasions. The pizza we had was out of this world, and the pizza guy was very accommodating.. we really felt it ended our day out well, will certainly be returning soon.

Vine tanto para el té de la tarde del día de la madre como para el día de la madre, sábado y domingo, respectivamente, la primera vez con mi madre y la segunda con mi pareja e hijos. El té de la tarde era muy bueno y tenía una buena relación calidad-precio, aunque el servicio era un poco distante y tuve que pedir agua caliente para el té después de que habíamos pedido nuestro Prosecco gratuito primero y nadie había regresado durante algún tiempo. Cuando pedimos otro prosecco, el joven nos dijo que no era una oferta sin fondo y que tendríamos que pagarla como si no nos hubiéramos dado cuenta, lo dijo educadamente y fue divertido, pero al mismo tiempo ¡Podría haber sido un poco incómodo con personas que se ofenden más fácilmente!

For the first time in many years of travelling I was amazed that the receptionist charged our credit card with a refundable £80, despite having paid in full prior to our visit.

We had our family get together at the hotel and cannot fault anything, from checking in, to the bar & restaurant the next morning, all the staff were superb, friendly & very helpful. We will definitely be returning next year.

I was very late booking a table for Fathers Day as he is not a well man and in a wheel chair and you have to see if he would be up for going out on the day as it can be quite painful for him. Anyway called in to the Westmead on the hope they could fit us in as they were fully booked however some tables were booked for a late time. Well I was totally astonished on how helpful they were all the staff was great even the owner could not do enough for us. On a side note the food was also very good, the service was also efficient and polite a rare thing these days. A top venue.

What gorgeous pizzas. My daughter enjoyed watching them being hand make and fired in their wood pizza oven. There is a massive variety of toppings. At the moment they are 2 for the price of 1, what a great bargain.

Even in this cold snowy day we received an amazing welcome, hot drink and delightful cheesecake to die for !!

Cuando pregunté qué pring cebolla y eneldo Tabbouleh, color granate y salmón Caviar en realidad consistía en el camarero me dijo que un tipo de cuscús creo 'algunas necesidades de capacitación. No vamos a volver a lo que tenía el potencial de ser un buen local encontrar.

Visited this newly refurbished hotel with a restaurant branded as Blakes. Not to busy so seated straight away by an attentive waitress. She was helpful but seemed a little unsure of what beers were available from the bar. My wife had a steak, and I went for one of their log fired pizzas. Very good, and at a reasonable price too. Will certainly visit again.

I was very worried when it was suggested we ate out at a hotel on a Sunday night but we had run out of options with the cooker at home going wrong at the last minute. I had visions of depleted staff, a missing chef, and a lack of fellow guests leaving us to eat in empty rooms. Anyway, we walked down to the Westmead.

We took our mom for afternoon tea for her birthday on a Thursday at 12 o'clock was lovely lots of cakes and lovely finger sandwiches we had a very attentive waitress and there was no limet on tea and coffee xx

Fue una decepción. Hemos asistido a reuniones en numerosas ocasiones y debido a la distancia de nuestra estancia en el hotel casa y siempre hemos disfrutado de estas visitas. Aunque las habitaciones estaban bien la renovación del restaurante no es sin duda alguna. Ido es el menú del restaurante para ser reemplazado con un menú que se sirve en el bar y restaurante. Me tomé una hamburguesa que en casi 13 libras era para decir lo menos mala relación calidad-precio. Mi marido tenía el cerdo y, de nuevo, muy muy caro, sobre todo cuando las verduras donde escasea y por un costo extra si pedido por separado. No veo por qué un restaurante de esta naturaleza necesita un horno de pizza, no hace nada por el establecimiento. Postres estaban bien pero un vaso refresco de desastre no comido con un elton cuchara de sopa. Afortunadamente tenía una cucharadita de café para ayudar. Toda nuestra comida de dos platos con una botella de vino era de alrededor de 80 libras que está lejos era caro para lo que esencialmente nada más que comida de bar pub. Esperamos que mejor para este tipo de dinero

Si estás pagando £13 por una hamburguesa, que no esperas que presente una botella de vinagre en el sarson supermercado. Ketchup, bien presente en un plato. . . . . . . . . . . . Pero necesitas una cuchara para ponerlo en tu comida! Luego vinieron los dulces, jajaja. He probado a comer un postre desde un refresco con una cuchara de sopa, desafío interesante. Ah, casi me olvido, tuve que ir y encontrar el menú desierto como aclararon la mesa sin preguntar si queríamos un flan y luego nos ignoró. Gerente. . . . . . Más. dispuesto a discutir, pero dada su inversión en reformas que necesita esta comida simple derecho.

Arrived for the emmerdale tour an hour early so we could treat my mother to an afternoon tea. We had lots of tea but the tomato soup was nasty and tasted of italian seasoning. The sandwiches had started to go hard but the fillings once...

I took my mom and sister in law for afternoon tea. Nice selection of cakes, sandwiches and gorgeous scones. Staff very friendly and nice surroundings, I'll definitely be returning.

I stayed in the hotel for a couple of days and while there had dinner & breakfast twice & also lunch. I found the food well cooked and enjoyable and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is on the traditional side and felt a little old-fashioned, but was perfectly adequate. .

I've stayed at this lovely hotel before. The staff are always so welcoming, the rooms are clean and well equipped. The beds are so comfortable I could stay in them for more than the allotted 8 hours. If you do stay here definitely opt for the breakfast which is really nice and the sausages and bacon are really high grade. When I asked the manager where they were from they stated they were from a local butcher which I think is great. Would definitely stay here again, its my go to hotel in the West Midlands.

Went for a wedding, stayed over B and B. The wedding was brilliantly organised. Staff were very attentive friendly and helpful

Family lunch. Service friendly. Set menu was quite limited but well priced at 17 for 2 courses. Easy to find and plenty of parking.

We arrived at the hotel to celebrate afternoon tea with our cousin for her 50th Birthday. We soon realised there was someone much more important there than us. BBC were there filming Drs, we were continually being told to shush, wasn't allowed to go to the toilet,it was obvious they wanted us to leave as soon as possible, no one came near to see if we had everything we required, also no one came to refill more tea. One man who we think was the manager came up to the table and asked us to not make any noise for the next 20 mins because the BBC were filming. I will never set foot in that place again.

WE have used the Westmead for many Family occasions and always found the staff helpful and of a pleasant nature. Members of the family that have used the accommodation have always found the beds comfortable and the rooms of a good proportion and clean. The food is of an excellent standard and reasonably price with the staff having a good knowledge of its contents and able to advice on any food alleges( we have vegitarians and glutton).The position of the hotel being near(but not to close to the M42 ) gives good access to the surrounding towns (Stratford on Avon,Redditch,Warwick to name a few).

Lovely food shame there is only 1 bar staff member in the lounge during busy times need to sort this but otherwise great

We stayed with a group of friends on the NY Eve package. The hotel itself is a little tired now and could do with some refurbishment. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Value for money was very good, the afternoon tea was lovely and the food for the evening event was very good. Breakfast was also good apart from having to find your tea and coffee which was away from everything else in unmarked jugs!!!!!! The only thing that is really strange is how the hotel can justify charging London prices for drinks !!! Absolutely extortionate !!! We heard several people complaining amongst themselves about this. Overall though very nice !!

We were booked as a group of 6 for boxing day lunch at £18.95.We started with a roll each but had to ask for butter, then had to ask for drinks (that arrived during our main), had to ask for condiments & extra gravy on main, cream/custard on deserts. In fact we had to ask for everything and we were never asked if the food was OK or if we needed anything. The veg was OK but beef was a little chewy, roasters weren't crispy & red sauce on cheesecake smelt of cats pee.

We ate here both nights of our stay. Dinner was excellent home cooked food. As I do not eat out I cannot say whether £11 for a Ceaser Salad is expensive or not. Breakfast was again varied and delicious.

I booked Sunday lunch for my family after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed. The venue is lovely, the staff were very polite and efficient and the food was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel's restaurant.

We stayed here for one night as part of a Cadbury World package and we were very impressed. The bed was super king sized and each child had their own single bed without the room feeling too cramped. Each member of staff we met was very polite and welcoming and the breakfast was lovely.Our room was clean and nicely decorated and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again if we wanted to visit Birmingham which was about 25 minutes away.

Excellent food from a standard menu. Service good with friendly staff. Decoration a little 70's but clean and not crowded

A celebration party of nine people having a two course meal which consisted of a Sunday carvery and sweet, welcoming freindly and helpful staff ,the food was excellent Ie hot,tasty and plentiful and served in a relaxed and attentive way this visit was enjoyed by all will certainly visit again WELL DONE.
