The Village Inn in Bromsgrove

First time here for my friends birthday and what a lovely pub it is. Staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was brilliant. The singer that was on was also 1st class act. I will be returning soon.

Not too bad a boozer in the village of Beoley. Jules is a top notch member of the bar staff. Very pleasant and chatty. Nice couple of beers were had in the sun.

I attended a party here and I really enjoyed the place. I found the staff very friendly and polite. I was drinking a pale ale which was going down far too easy. Toilets were clean and tidy. Extra car parking space at the back.

Where do I start? I held a surprise 50th Birthday Party for my husband at The Village Inn. I wanted somewhere we hadn’t been to, so he wouldn’t catch on. What a find! I hired their function room out, which was free as I purchased a buffet. From start to finish, the landlady and staff were amazing. They popped the decorations up for me, had all the buffet laid out and directed the guests through to the function room in preparation for the surprise. Jules and Jack were working on the night and from start to finish were so lovely and welcoming. Jules even called taxis for a lot of the guests at the end of the night. Everyone had an amazing time! Thank you so much for making the night so special. We will definitely be in soon for a drink!

My husband, the night of his 50th…. “Thanks to all the team for making this such a wonderful evening, I honestly had no idea but what a lovely surprise! Apologies for the bad singing.” We had the BEST night, never been there before organising this for my husband but the Village Inn especially Jules and Jack made the night and whole experience perfect! Left a review a few months ago ,not a good one, mentioned no food, no atmosphere,people still cleaning etc ,had a really bizarre response about you don't open till 2 - would like to know why we weren't refused entry ,and why were we served alcohol if this was out of your licence hours ?And the young girl ,prob about 10 years old, why was she in there ? Maybe home schooled ? But on a positive -thank you for your recommendation to the hollybush-(you may remember you were sitting at an outside table ) we have been there a few times since

Awful, we dropped in passing by - still cleaning at midday- lighting off ,no atmosphere or other customers ,should've realised it wasn't good - but they did recommend another place to go to - which was good

Great pub, great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff

We have just had an 80th birthday party at The Village Inn. The room is perfect, it was decorated beautifully, the staff were so friendly, the buffet was fantastic. We had hot and cold menu items and unlimited tea and coffee, which went down very well. I would definitely recommend this pub as a party venue. It's also a great friendly pub to just go and have a drink in.

Looking for an idyllic village pub. Searched Google maps and there it was, a perfect summers day drink and lunch. Oh no, wait, the ubiquitous presence of the all day drinker, farting and burping next to our table. The white ham ‘n’ mustard cob made all the more delicious by the closeness of these people with such impeccable manners. If you’re thinking about it, then maybe not, the clientele this pub make their money from may not be to your taste.

Nice friendly village pub. Only had a couple of drinks and ham batches, but good service and value. Will happily visit again when next in the area

Stopped here for a few drinks the other day, it's nicely situated in Beoley Village. Drinks are reasonably priced and staff are pleasant, food is available I will have to order some the next time we come. Nice pub for a Sunday afternoon walk.

Came across my local pub yesterday and it is really nice. The staff are friendly and drinks are not bad priced. Need to try food though

A lovely evening so me and hubby decided to walk to the Village inn as hadnt been in a while and the Carribean menu appealed to us.Food good and authentic, and Neve the waitress was so pleasant and attentive ,she is a credit to the pub ...will be back!

Seguramente,por la localización en medio d la nada en la Inglaterra profunda,he debido ser el único cliente no inglés y de sus alrededores que ha venido.A ver...el truco de hacer la comida super mega extra picante para beber más,en España ya hace siglos que lo inventamos.De hecho,me da a mí que alguien de este establecimiento ha copiado y superado la idea en un restaurante de Benidorm o Lloret .Personalmente he vencido a guindillas de las que pican que ni con molla de pan se te quita....cacahuetes con sal pa llenar 2 mares Mediterráneo.. Jamón tan tan salado ,que al darle un bocao saltaban chispas.Y he aguantado con mi caña pa no gastar dinero en otra.Pero lo de este pollo al curry de su establecimiento es una obra de arte digno de los mayores genios.Y desperdiciado en medio de la campiña inglesa.Y alguien ha de sacarlo a relucir al mundo.Tienes que pedir otra caña de 6€ porque no hay quien aguante tal picor sin beber más. Son la 8 i 9 maravilla d l mundo.Ole y enhorabuena genios!!!!

Had Jerk chicken Alfredo on my first visit to Village Inn , was totally impressed, my partner wanted to see if I was telling the truth, well have just had a chicken and a prawn Alfredo with my partner, and I wasn’t lying, the food is absolutely superb, you must try, you won’t be disappointed.

Nice relaxing Pub friendly staff

We sat outside and enjoyed a few socially distanced beverages. The staff come to numbered tables and even thou they seem super busy they were still very smiley and friendly. £3 for a mug sized portion of chips. Twin lady toilets that were also a baby changing area. Car parking facilities at rear of the building.

Simply excellent from the moment we arrived. Land lady and other members of the catering team could not have been more attentive. Food, we had the burgers, wings and meat balls, was excellent also.

We've been regulars to this pub for years, but this new chef couple are going to revolutionise the pub! Aw some chef, food and service! Fingers crossed it works this time

Had Sunday lunch with my wife and friend and glad to say the food was really tasty including a veggie option. All the food was freshly cooked and pleasantly surprised all locally sourced. My wife is a bit anxious about the current pandemic but felt that the staff had provided a safe environment taking all the necessary precautions. We will be back for more.

Disappointed with the quality of our meal. The starter was lovely, but the main course was dreadful and neither of us ate it. The service took along time, however post COVID we understand there are less staff working and so do understand this, but it took 45mins to bring our drinks ...

Very nice place, staff were friendly, her was excellent. Nice outdoor space to take in the sun. Well worth a visit.

Not been there in a few months due to lockdown, but it's lacklustre and could do with a good clean. God only knows what the kitchen looks like. I didn't try the wine, but it can't be as sour as the landlady.

Great for a night out good beer but a bit expensive

The food was terrible over cooked took so long to sever that by the time the last person got theirs the others had finished. I won't be recommending it to any one I know

Nice country pub great atmosphere

We came here by chance on a dreary but fairly mild day. The pub looked good enough from the road but the car park is very small and there is an overflow car park with frightening looking steps. The entrance we found was around the back and did not look very welcoming. There was a fire in the bar but it was not lit. It was a dull January day and a fire was essential. Not much of a welcome there. The wine was ok and a good price. That is all I can say about this place. I shall not be rushing back because I never return to places with an unlit fire in the the middle of winter.

A large party of us booked in for Christmas dinner. It’s a lovely pub and there was a lovely atmosphere in the bar area. We went round to the dining area and got seated, the tables were done up lovely. If there was any music on it was quite low, the atmosphere was a bit weird to be honest, didn’t feel very Christmassy even though it did look the part, perhaps it was us but it didn’t feel like a Christmas meal get together. We had varied starters, I had a terrine which I did not like however others liked their starters which were a seafood cocktail and I think soup. The Christmas dinner, I thought it was lovely, the portion was very generous too, there were mixed reviews on this too but personally I thought it was a lovely Christmas dinner. Desert. Lovely! I had a ginger cheesecake and I’m glad I did, it tasted amazing. Overall, it was nice to get out for dinner and the pub is lovely, it just felt a bit flat and I can’t put my finger on why. We would go back again.

Slightly overpriced in general. Good enough place to visit now and again but i wouldn't call it my local now. It used to be but the atmosphere been sucked out of the place I'm afraid😏😥

We met up with my daughter here as it was a half way house for us. We all enjoyed our food. I had sausage and mash and it was delicious. The mash tasted nicer than the usual you get with pub grub. My daughter and husband both had burgers which they both really enjoyed. I would definitely eat here again if we find ourselves in this area again.

Out walking and stop off at local pub great place

I took my Mother and my wife out for a lunch at the Village Inn as the reviews looked good .. We got there about 12.45 and apart from one other couple it was empty. we sat down and the barmaid took our drinks order and they arrived ok..At this point we ordered our meals .. After 1/2 an hour I needed another drink but the barmaid had gone outside for a ciggie break so I had to wait for her to return. Still no sign of the meals after 50 minutes so my wife asked the barmaid when they would arrive and she checked with the 'Chef' who informed her they were ready. I had ordered a mixed grill .. The steak looked as if it was left over from the previous day and had been re-heated .. The 'grilled 'chicken' was a piece of boiled rubber and the gammon looked like an afterthought ..chips were ok . My mother had Hunters Chicken .. This was another piece of boiled rubber wrapped in bacon .. The only saving grace was my Wife's Fish and Chips, which were OK. When I went to pay bill the barmaid asked me if everything was Ok and that they welcome feedback .. Well here it is .. You're welcome,

We visited tonight for the psychic night, we both had the garlic mushrooms served on ciabatta to start and it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, the main was the burger stack and again looked and tasted amazing! The staff were attentive and friendly and looked after us well We will definitely be back!

Popped into the Village Inn with the wife on a Friday evening at the end of August for a meal as I didn't fancy cooking so we had a little drive out to Beoley We have been here before and to be honest the experience in the restaurant has sometimes been a bit hit and miss. But I think this time they have got a chef and waiting staff who are on the ball. We were shown to a table by our attention waitress who looked after us all evening, giving us time to browse the menu and specials board whilst fetching our drinks from the bar. To start my wife had garlic mushrooms on ciabatta and I had pate with chutney and crusty bread. Both starters were flavoursome and were a lovely start to the evening. We both cleared our plates. I chose my main off the specials board, a full rack of BBQ ribs which came with double dipped chips and corn on the cob. The meat was so tender it fell off the rib as soon as I picked it up, coated in a lovely BBQ sauce and I have to say I haven't tasted better. My good lady went for the gammon and although the menu said it came with pineapple she asked if she could have egg instead, not a problem. This also came with double dipped chips and garden peas. It was a nice peice of gammon not the wafer thin slices you get in some places and the eggs were nice and dippy. We again cleared our plates. We were offered the dessert menu and coffee but were full from the meals so declined and asked for the bill which came quickly, unlike some places where you can wait for what seems like forever to pay I liked the way the waitress noticed when my glass was getting low and asked if I wanted a refill, and as soon as we finished our meals our plates were taken from the table giving us space to hold hands (old romantics) We shall be recommending the Village to our friends and family and we will be back.

Don’t usually bother writing reviews but this place definitely rates one - kinda found it by accident yesterday as looking for a pub midway between where we and and other family members live. So glad we did. Lovely evening. Great value, great tasting food and lovely smiley friendly staff - thank you, we’ll be back

Went to see a local band with a friend. Great to see a local pub packed. Band were fun, and the whole pub was dancing all night. Staff, and locals, were very friendly, but, on a warm summer's night, no pimms! This pub has had lots of management changes recently, this one seems to have got it right.

Don't order the beef Fajitas! Very fatty and gristley. Quite a nice setting though

Been twice in the last couple of weeks. Once for quiz and once for a 50th. On both occasions staff were friendly and the general atmosphere was great

Lovely food, attentive staff & excellent value for money.

The beef was so tough you couldn't even cut it with an ordinary knife. I ended up choking on a piece and was lucky that I was able to cough it up before passing out. Either the quality of beef was poor or the chef couldn't cook, or maybe both but will never return again for food. Staff friendly and seemed genuinely upset by my choking but left the whole meal which cost £8.95.

A very good experience. On arrival we were taken to our table and found the staff very helpful. The menu range and specials broad was extensive. Food arrived in good time and was of good portions. My wife's fajitas were in need of a better mix of peppers, only red. Generally a fair price for food and drinks. We will definitely be returning soon Cheers. Ian

First time here, staff were friendly but some strange people in there! Food was good value

My wife and I have just had the most wonderful Sunday roast in a long time.Pork, beef or gammon were on offer, I went for beef the wife gammon.Presentation could have been a little better with the two thick slices of meat plonked on top of the mash but it all's goes down the same way and with a bit of alteration on the plate I made it look a little tidier.The meat was tender, roast spuds,mash, mixed veg of broccoli, carrots, peas, stuffing, yorkshire and lashings of lovely gravy was very nice indeed. All for £8.95 each (price correct as on 7th April 2019)We both cleared our plates and will definitely be back.Full menu also on offer.If you're in South Birmingham or North Worcestershire and fancy a ride out into the country then give the Village Inn Beoley and their new chef a chance. You won't be disappointed.

Attended a funeral wake yesterday lunchtime. The front entrance to the pub was littered with used cigarette ends! Not a great welcome. Also spotted notices throughout the pub suggesting booking for Mothers Day (which was two days ago!!!). Visited the bar and asked for a pint of a bitter. Answer - "We have no bitter - we had a busy weekend"!!! I always thought weekends ended on Sunday and this pre-arranged funeral wake was on Tuesday. No time to re-order????

Absolutely great quiz night at The Village Inn. Always a great laugh, cash prizes, plus play your cards right. The added bonus of Jen, the quiz mistress, makes gorgeous baps, cheese and ham, with free onions and tomatoes. Lovely pub, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We had our funeral wake here today for my Mother In Law. We found it by accident looking for a suitable venue.

I had a meal with a friend last Sunday afternoon. They serve food until 5.00pm, which is good. I had venison medallions with mash and mashed potatoes with fresh veg and gravy. That was on the specials board for £15.99, but was worth it. It was quieter there around 3ish. It is a lovely, cosy pub in the countryside, plus the waitress was really nice too. This is the 2nd time I've ate here.
