Great experience! Last night my partner and I had dinner at this place and we really enjoyed it. Excellent welcome, the menu was explained to us well and despite our very basic English, we understood everything well thanks to the patience of the person who welcomed us. You can also order via the app. The place is really beautiful and the dishes are delicious! We can't wait to return to Scotland to return to you! Thanks for everything and see you soon! 😊

We visited multiple times during our trip to Edinburgh. Had their buffet breakfast, carvery, chicken tikka masala and also the huge cake slices.The price is quite in budget and the portion sizes were good. Loved the food. Would like to come back if ever again in Edinburgh 😀 Must visit if you are staying near airport.

Visited here yesterday for a Sunday Carvery. When I arrived the place was messy but I put it down to maybe a tea time rush. When we sat down the table was not prepared and still had last persons food on the table which they later cleaned when we asked. We ordered and then waited 45minutes on 2 carvery’s which tasted like it was sat out and was put into the microwave as the plate was hot but food was cold. The tall young man when we spoke to him about it was very rude as was saying we are busy if you want it remade it will be a 20minute wait for the food to be brought out to us. We just told him to forget about it and he rolled his eyes and walked off. We barely ate anything and it looked like slop on a plate. When we came to pay the same young man was on his phone and chewing gum when I was paying acting like he would much rather be at home. I think his name was yakob. I will not be retuning do not recommend it.

Great place, loved the food. The Sunday Roast aka Carvery was amazing !! Kid friendly place. Totally recommended.

Ordered 2 beers, got one. Ordered 4 meals, got 3. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but the food was disgusting. Even the chips were bad.

I would like to thank all the wonderful staff, who always make the visit worthwhile. Special thanks to the chefs who produce such really good food, and ensure it is well presented. The pub is well maintained and has a nice friendly vibe. Thankyou 😊

Came for the carvery and returned the next morning for the breakfast buffet, both of which were very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. When we are back in the area we will return and sample some of their scrumptious looking cakes.

Friendly Staff, lots to choose from the menu. Different areas to sit. Carvery on offer if you prefer. If you have any problems the staff are happy to sort them out.

Visited with a group of 6, all happy with quality of food although a couple of mistakes in the order/service (salad and fries rather than instead of fries, no bacon in bacon cheeseburger and delay to last meal delivered as waiter dropped half of the burger roll). Not the best of the chain I've visited but would visit again and hope these mistakes were just a bad day.

Absolutely worst breakfast. Not one thing edible. For 7.99 you get cheap meats, bacon barley cooked, slice sausage burnt and black pudding you need a steak knife for.

Service was friendly but very slow. Part of our order arrived incorrectly but we didn't have time to bother raising it with staff and requesting it to be fixed. Food itself was good

Best service we've had here. Drinks arrived before we got back from the carvery. Cakes are massive definitely for sharing but gd value for money!

If you want cold food dumped on the table by talentless serving staff. Which you ordered from a personality devoid bint, then this is the place for you. I guess we won't be back, it was good last year but has changed a lot in 12 months so much so we couldn't go back the next night for another meal, we ordered fish and chips to be delivered to our hotel instead. That's what will happen again next year unless some miracle happens.

Well.. Thought I would treat my wife . Daughter and grandson to lunch. What a disaster. No actual dedicated lunch menu. Soup or nothing. Grandson was lucky that they had a kids menu. This was the only positive. They actually encourage drink driving by making the cost of drinking soft drinks pretty much the same as alcohol. An eye watering £3.40 for a medium juice. Been a couple of times for breakfast. Will never ever set foot in this place again....

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a fantastic experience at West Gate Farm! Christian, the serving chef, went above and beyond in helping my three kids choose their meats. They have learning difficulties, and I really appreciated the patience and kindness he showed them. He also gave me and my partner a very warm welcome and was incredibly accommodating with my food allergies, making sure I knew exactly what was in the food and even arranging freshly made gluten-free gravy for me. It’s not often you come across such a happy and helpful server at a carvery—Christian truly made our visit special. Highly recommend!

Booked. Shown to a table beside till. Wrong place to sit people when not too busy. Only time anyone came near table was when they sat us. Zero atmosphere. Food good.

Never got greeted, waited 12minutes or more to eventually get served at the bar.. no hot water for tea, food starting to get taken away at 10.40am for too good to go bags. Closed breakfast at 10.47am.... not a good experience today...

Nice pub for dinning in.. Food was hot and delicious and the service was quick and very friendly.. All day breakfast was very generous.. Cakes were of very large portion and very delicious..

Well how can somewhere that used to be so popular go so down hill. This is not the first time we have went and they don't have certain food on the menu. As a regular customer it is sad to say we will not be back . The turnover off staff is constant and the staff today none of them were happy when greeting us or when ordering the food one of our party didn't even order as was so disappointed .

Pedí pollo tikka y pagué extra por los bhajis... ¡los bhajis estaban crudos y crudos en el medio! La pitta no se calienta, el curry 🤢 - pollo duro y la salsa de curry más acuosa de la historia. Lo único que era remotamente comestible era el arroz. ¡No volveré a comer aquí!

Food was awful, didnt get what i asked for and the fish was tiny and had about 6 chips on my plate Ordered also childs meal for my grand daughter who is only 1 which was advertised as “kids eat free” bit i was charged for Will not be returning Staff werent friendly and play area was NOT 5 and under as lots of older kids

Very nice pub with delicious food and good drinks. The small play area is also great, thanks to which you can enjoy a glass of wine in peace while the children are playing. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there are too many slot machines there. A small foosball table or something similar would be great. Unfortunately we also had a very unmotivated employee at the bar.

Vinimos a almorzar un sábado, como un pequeño placer para nuestra hija pequeña sabiendo que había un área de juegos para niños. La zona infantil era una broma con la gran mayoría de las actividades activadas por monedas (£ 1 ). Entré esperando que la comida no fuera nada de lo que escribir a casa, pero incluso con esa mentalidad me decepcionó mucho. De las 3 placas que pedimos cada una tenía un problema, 1 ) Pedí el combo de pollo con la brocheta de pollo frita del sur y las alitas de pollo, la brocheta de pollo estaba seca y demasiado cocida y las alitas eran sin sabor y completamente sin condimentar. 2 ) Mi esposa tenía la lasaña que venía con una ensalada lateral, la ensalada se marchitó y comenzó a pudrirse, con los bordes de la lechuga siendo negros. 3 ) Mi hija tenía la hamburguesa con queso de los niños, la parte superior del bollo de hamburguesa era sólida como una roca y empapada al mismo tiempo, claramente había sido congelada (se podían ver las marcas en el bollo donde se había sacado de otro bollo congelado) luego descongelada en un microondas. En general una experiencia muy decepcionante y recomendaría encarecidamente evitar

Good atmosphere, good food and good service.

ordered the carvery and cake bundle, extra yorkie and additional cake. plan was to share a portion as previous portions were huge although gravy had leaked everywhere. this time the cake and extra yorkie were missing, plus food was cold. called the restaurant but got no answer. not great on both occasions

It seems like some of the menu items have been updated. Unusually at these times it seems to be for the better. Food is inexpensive and good 'pub' quality food. Its not fine dining but it does what it's supposed to do well. Quite a few long term staff, all who are friendly and service is good.

Food was decent, experience was slightly diminished by the kids eat free being advertised but not yet active, the manager apologised and compensated a little, server at the bar wasn't great for the order and timing of the food wrong floor staff were very friendly

Everything was great and not far away from the airport either so quick bite to eat before going for a flight or even arriving and hotel beside the place aswell. All staff amazing

Great food at a reasonable price, kind and friendly staff with good service. From my experience it's always been better to book in advance by doing it online, it can get busy leaving the phone unattended. There are separate seating areas for both adults only, families and a children's play area that is on the opposite side of the building, away from adults area. There is a menu or the choice for a carvery at dinner, including breakfast if you up early. The food is good, desserts are too with large portions for what you're paying. The choice of drinks is slightly lacking and could be improved upon. Would recommend this place to families, friends and couples looking to get out of a good well priced meal that leaves you satisfied!

El servicio es bastante lento, pero la razón principal de mi queja es que el hecho de que le pidiera un plato pequeño al carvery y me pareció que la carne que me dieron era bastante patética, no llenaría un sándwich normal. También las verduras eran muy suaves y exagerado probablemente debido a sentarse allí durante horas y horas. Muy decepcionante por el dinero que pagas.

Lovely experience. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious. We just missed the buffet breakfast but the available options arrived quickly, were hot and very tasty. Coffee was good too. Katie's nothings-a-bother manner and sparkly conversation made all the difference to our visit.

I'll never really know as 2 n8ghts on the trott I've been there kitchen closed earlier than they say so no food and closed early bit disappointed as looks ok but obviously has problems somewhat

Nos gusta este lugar, gran aparcamiento, agradable y cálido por dentro. Puedes sentarte y pedir y pagar desde la aplicación. El personal es amable, la comida es buena, el carvery es bueno. Tuvimos un buen almuerzo allí, lugar grande bastante ocupado, pero el servicio es rápido. ¡Buen lugar!

Visited recently with family (12 of us) and every single one of us though the place, service, and food were excellent. Would highly recommend.

We visited, looking for a pub lunch in the area, and found a carvery. Pretty standard carvery fare, though there was an onion gravy with big strips of onion in it. Delicious. Parking is plentiful, and we noted it's next door to a reasonably priced hotel. We found a model of a farm near the bar, showing the farmhouse and connected buildings. Presumably this is the original farm. I wonder if it was on the same spot before it got all built up.

My husband Franklin and I popped in here on a visit from Texas while staying at the Travel Lodge. We couldn’t wait to tuck in to the famous British meat, our host Lorna was super friendly. We can’t wait to tell all our friends back in Texas about this except for Brandine

If you want a big pudding, this is the place. We ordered a sticky toffee pudding each and were conquered. Mistakes were made. Excellent beverage selection and while we didn't order the carvery, it looked great. Ordered the chicken parmigana and steak pie, both very good. Nice New Years dinner.

Had a lovely breakfast. Received a warm welcome from Lorna who was very helpful at the till and breakfast area.

Stayed at Travelodge next door after a flight so popped in here for dinner. Starter and mains were good but dessert was disappointing to say the least. There is a huge display of ice creams but that’s where it ends!! It is display only and they actually have very little choice. Hubby had Millionaires shortbread which came as a slab you could build a wall with. Shortbread was 1 inch thick and disgusting. He ate a bit of the chocolate and a bit of the caramel but left the slab of shortbread. In conclusion service was good starters and mains were cheap and cheerful but good. Avoid the desserts at all costs!!

Omg,first time here for breakfast and i was very impressed! We love a buffet breakfast and this did not disappoint! Huge selection of everything and super tasty. Lorna the lovely lady who greeted us when we arrived and left took the time to chat with us,she was very pleasant! Good staff make it an even better experience! The video wasnt obviously of breakfast,i forgot to take a photo but these puddings look amazing,cant wait to come back to try these!

We visited due to staying at the hotel next door. We initially ordered starters and mains along with drinks. We were served 2 out of 4 starters and waited 5 minutes for the 3rd to arrive. When this arrived we explained we were still waiting on a kids starter. The server then disappeared again and quickly reappeared with 2 of the mains despite the fact we were still waiting on a starter. We stated that we were not ready for our mains as we were still waiting on a starter which then arrived after a further 5 minutes! The server then asked when she could take out our mains. The mains arrived and were ok but had clearly been sitting out under a heat lamp, the butter that came with 2 of the mains was liquid and the sauce with one of the mains had a skin on it. We then went to order desert … one of the desserts was unavailable despite it being on display in the cabinet which was somewhat confusing and then an error was made with our order, which we was apparently when it was served. By this point we were passed caring and finished up and left. We also had some issues when ordering drinks… despite drinks showing on the menu when at the bar we were told they were unavailable… this was the case with 2 different drinks. All in all it was pretty disappointing.

Easy, comfortable, great service and delicious food.

Came in for lunch with work colleagues. Bar service only, and there’s one person behind the bar taking drinks orders, food orders and making the drinks for the entire restaurant. Opted for the carvery as you don’t need to wait on the kitchen, but it took us 25 minutes to get from 3rd place in the queue at the bar to the point where we could place an order and pay for it. We spent longer standing at the bar than we did eating our meal.

Came here twice whilst staying at the Travelodge next door. Dinner was great, lots of options and service was brilliant. Staff were very nice and helpful. Had breakfast too, very reasonably priced and tasted good.

Whilst Lorna was amazing! On the next visit with a different member of staff. the service was appalling. How can you not have the slightest customer service. I just wanted coffee and sourdough toast and butter. Even if it’s not on the menu ( which is) I could get offered a replacement but instead I just have coffee. To make things worse when I saw that was on the menu and brought to their attention. I got give 2 bits of toast with no butter. It just felt like I’m doing you a favour. Very kind but obviously I wanted butter I had asked to start with but the manner I was apprach and the lack of customer serve made super unhappy. They can keep their 2 pieces of toast.

I have ordered from this company twice now and both times I have had issues with the service. My first experience saw my food arrive almost 45 minutes late with entire parts of the order missing and now this second time my order took approximately 2 hours between order and delivery (with the restaurant being about 3 miles away). This is entirely on the restaurant as it took the courier less than 10 minutes to arrive after collecting it from the restaurant itself
