All Bar One - Edinburgh in Edinburgh, City of

Completely understandable that all restaurants get busy on Saturdays but the service and food quality was exceptionally poor. Clearly under staffed and during the Edinburgh cocktail festival. Ordered the chicken quesadilla, chickpeas were still hard and meal was overall cold and sad. Many other tables around us complaining about food and service also. When telling the waiter that the food wasn’t very good because undercooked, was told sorry whilst being handed the card machine. Wouldn’t recommended and won’t be going back :(

Had a lovely meal, we had the 10 tapas dishes between four of us and they were delicious highly recommend these although all the food looked good. It was very busy and felt they could have had more staff however a big shout out to Laiba and Jack who were very good and went that bit extra that it made our experience so much better and we will definitely be back.

Decided to have some food and drinks before a show at the Usher Hall. The menu was a bit limited but luckily there was something on it which we liked. I had quesidilla which was tasty and my husband had bacon and chicken focaccia which he enjoyed. Staff were pleasant and attentive. The only gripe we would have is that the air conditioning was on and it was cold. I ended up having to put my coat on as it got unbearable. Luckily I spotted on my booking email that there is a 10% service charge if it's table service so we weren't surprised when we got our bill but always good to know as there's nothing worse than it being added on and not knowing.

Went with a friend for dinner prior to attending a concert at Usher Hall. Venue was nice enough, if a bit loud. Drinks and dinner ordered without much effort. My first choice was not available (this was 1830 on a Friday so a bit early for them to run out of things, IMO). Placed an order for Pad Thai, flatbread as a starter and my friend had fish and chips. Starter and my dinner came out together. Waitress said that it was so busy and things got a bit mixed up. she came back a delivered my friend’s dinner. Well. My friend's food was good. But mine was just horrible! Inedible. After a few bites I decided I couldn’t continue. The Pad Thai was made with angel hair pasta (not noodles as Pad Thai requires) and it seemed as though it had been left under a heat lamp for a considerable time as the pasta was tough, glutenous and just plain terrible. Okay, fine, I thought. I still had the flatbread, no? Well that was even worse. The flatbread was a lot like those pizza crusts you buy and use at home. Cut in wedges and covered with shaved parmesan and some dead green leafy stuff that was limp and totally unappetising (sorry, no pics). Anyway, the flatbread had the consistency of cardboard and I think it had been sitting out for some time. Had two pieces and decided I’d had enough. Apparently the waitress was extra busy because she never came by to ask how we were doing. She didn’t come back to our table for about 45 minutes when I called her to give me the cheque. She apologised for everything, offered a discount (which I turned down) and, as we was leaving, the manager stopped so that I could tell him this was the absolute worst meal I have had in a restaurant in years. Needless to say, I shall never go to another All Bar One again!

A lot of issues sadly. It took 20 minutes to place our drinks order. There were 4 of us and one main course arrived 20 minutes after everyone else got theirs (on chef missing which was only communicated to us when we got our bill. Mushy peas for the 2 who had fish and chips was cold. The waiter did not take away the finished starters plates when the first 3 main courses were delivered. very disappointing, although generally the food was tasty.

Booked prior to attending show at the Usher Hall, across the road. Food was excellent. Staff shortages resulted in long wait. Mix up in our and others Bills! Probably down to poor staff. Were informed sickness. We only saw 1 waiter, manageress and bar man/waiter!

Decided to come here before concert tonight and was served by an acceptionally kind and Pearsonable employee, Sara. As I was alone waiting on a friend it was so nice to have been served by someone who I could chat easily to and the service has been excellent.

Fantastic service by Laiba at All Bar One in Edinburgh. Amazing banter, great fun and an absolute pleasure. Nothing was too much… future employee for Everest.

As always there was a fabulous selection on the menu to cater for all tastes and plate sizes. We had visited to have an early evening meal. We were greeted with a warm smile by Shanmukh who showed us to a nice quiet table. We requested a drink and Shanmukh demonstrated a great knowledge of the drinks menu and recommended a quality red wine. Food wise, as always, there was a fabulous selection on the menu. We ordered fish and chips. It was fresh and beautifully cooked with a gorgeous crispy batter. Shanmukh made sure that we had adequate sauces and accompaniments to ensure maximum enjoyment of our meal. We had a lovely relaxed time and we will definitely return. Well done Shanmukh and the team at All Bar One!

Large bar space close to the office so very convenient. However service was very disappointing - we only ordered chips but waited well over 25 minutes. Ended up cancelling our second drinks order because of how long they were taking. Also, the pint was 7.25 which felt criminal in Edinburgh (I’m not in central London?!). And worse, the glass wasn’t even full! But staff were very apologetic which was appreciated and won them a star

The four of us called in by chance for food and drinks Monday approx 715pm. Chap welcomed us in to a table. We enjoyed Drinks, pad thai, chicken and chorizo skewers. Delicious. Our only feedback being server was very keen to remove our plates.....even though some of us still eating. She also said to table behind us that kitchen was soon to close. ...( just when we'd placed our order) clearly we therefore didn't order more Drinks or dessert. This made our experience feel rather rushed. We would return as food great and location perfect for our stay.

Tapas Tuesday at All Bar One, we would definitely recommend it. We had a lovely meal of four tapas and a bottle of wine with a couple of sides. All were delicious with mouth watering flavours. We were served by Maddie who was most attentive, friendly and chatty. She took time to explain offers and items on the menu. Service was very quick and always with a smile. She really is a true ambassador for All Bar One. It’s a very comfortable, relaxing place to enjoy a meal with lovely surroundings. We will definitely be back soon!

Popped in with son (8) and sister. Lots of tables and friendly and attentive staff, in particulatr, Maddie. Sharing plates fab for a light bite. Great place for an easy lunch and a cheeky wine.

All Bar One is just off Lothian Road in a large square. The decor is contemporary and is nice and bright. It is broadly divided into two areas - on the right as you enter there are large, semi-circular sofas which are great for groups and on the left there are high tables/stools plus a slightly raised areas/alcoves. There is a good selection of draught beers and wines though not a great range of whiskies. There is also a good range of cocktails. Bar service is good but I would say cordial rather than particularly friendly. Didn't eat on this visit so can't comment on this. If you have a large-ish group tables can be reserved even if you are not eating. Nice experience overall. 😀

It was OK....went for dinner with friends before heading to The Usher Hall....serving staff weren't very friendly and we had an issue with food being brought at different time's although all ordered to come together. Wine list was OK. Won't rush back.

I went to All Bar One Exchange Plaza tonight and was unimpressed. I sat and waited 15 mins, but no one came to take my drinks order. I got up and went to the bar to order a drink. Sat back down and waited another 10 mins and no one came to take my food order. So I got up again to order. My food did arrive in good time and was tasty. No one came to ask how my meal was and my empty plate was left on the table. Figuring no one was going to come to clear the table or take payment I got up again to pay at the bar. I could forgive the very poor service if the place had been busy, but it was a Monday evening between 6pm & 7pm, there was maybe three or four other couples and four members of staff who just stood around behind the bar. It’s safe to say I asked for the service charge to be removed from my bill. Has something changed at All Bar One? Is table service no longer a thing? Or was purposefully being ignored?

Me and the Mrs came to Edinburgh for two days ans found a wowcher to use here for Tapas. The food was amazing! Cooked really nice, not much of a wait time, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and thr person who was waiting the table was very polite.

Ladies and I went for a wee cocktail night, fab service and great drinks. Quiet but chatty staff more than made up for it with a lovely attitude. Will defo be back with gals 🤣🤣
