Absolutamente cero tolerancia a la familia, mi esposa estaba sentada mirando a mi hija a 2 pies de distancia cuando un miembro del personal (suponiendo un gerente / supervisor, alto, pelo corto, barba con una camisa azul y corbata roja). Caminó y le dijo a mi esposa que no debería dejar a nuestra hija desatendida y furiosa. Entiendo perfectamente que no vayas a un Wetherspoons por lujo, ¡pero es completamente inaceptable que te hablen así! Siempre nos ha encantado la casa de fotos Caley, pero honestamente no volveremos! Es una lástima que tenga personal que represente a su hermoso establecimiento tan mal, ¡por favor, hágalo mejor!

Such a good ambience. Fridays are hard to get space but other days are good. Nice staff and variety available!

Lovely clean place to sit peacefully and enjoy good food. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. Beautiful decor of an old picture house. Toilets spotless clean too.

14mins for first drinks ordered on app. Second drinks quicker but advise buying the first at the bar and following drinks before you finish your current. Nice place, great price's, hard working staff but maybe not enough staff? Didn't eat but food looked good enough.

Typical weather spoon pub with open kitchen till late (had crispy bowl of chips). OK selection of beers and drinks. Not much else to say. Will go again for drinks, cheep and cheerful for city centre.

One of the nicest wetherspoons I have visited. Decor is out of this world. So many places to sit offering some amazing views.

Good value for money in an original and pleasant setting. Order taking and payment are done directly on the application which is practical and quick but can be annoying for some people.

Wow. completely average Wetherspoons apart from the interior, making this the best spoons I have ever been into. I went on a Wednesday night and it was rammed, I could barely find a table, just shows you how popular this place is!

Potentially unsafe for gay/trans/gender non conforming people, as my girlfriend was singled out by security at our table after leaving the bathroom and asked for her ID again so that they could check that she was a girl. Staff had followed us into the bathroom & security had been waiting at the bar when we left and was chatting to bar staff about us, the same security guard then came to our table and asked for only her ID. He shrugged me off when I said we had all already been checked on the door, but when I asked if he was checking that she was a girl he said yes. I later made a complaint and was told that bar staff, security & the manager would be spoken to about this as it is not a policy of theirs to do this, however it still happened and was extremely invasive, upsetting, and made us feel unwelcome and unsafe.

Had the ramen with chicken brest, fabulous asked fir more coriander no problem.thankyou for a great lunch

¡Esta podría ser una de las mejores cucharas meteorológicas de la zona! El interior es excepcional, espacioso, elegante y único. La disposición de los asientos es buena y la barra es lo suficientemente grande como para permitir un servicio fácil. La limpieza y la ordenación de la mesa a veces dejan un poco que desear. Sin embargo hay dos veces para evitar el Caley - 1. Antes y después de cualquier evento en el Usher Hall debido a las multitudes. 2 . ¡Cuando la rubia líder de turno está de servicio debido a su actitud y absoluto desprecio obvio por sus clientes!

The place is an old cinem converted into a restaurant and pub excellent breakfast with option to refill I recommend fish and chips

No my kind of place, very disorganised. We ordered drinks through the app it took 30 mins to arrive. I think best to have training on cocktails as very poor. I didn't eat anything as nothing to my taste. Very loud as large building. Used to be a club so sad as perfect for nice background music.

Returned here after 7 years after find memories of our first trip to Edinburgh. It sparked our interest in visiting as many Wetherspoons as possible because they're often in fantastic buildings like this one. The Caley Picture House didn't disappoint. It was in just as good shape as our first visit and remains our favourite that we've visited. We had breakfast which was the usual great Wetherspoons value and efficient service. Love this place!

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Tables are filthy. Using the same sheets at breakfast. The woman that uses the microwave (the cook) came out the kitchen with the same gloves on picked a dirty tissue off the floor went back into kitchen with same gloves and prepared and touched food. Only good thing is the beer

One of the most atmospheric Wetherspoon's, drinking and eating while watching the old cinema is very atmospheric.

Can't praise the establishment highly enough. Staff are friendly and helpful, great prices, and a nice quiet atmosphere.

Looked like a lovely place upon first arrival but as soon as we were greeted by the waiters we were treated very poorly firstly we got some grub but as soon as we started drinking we were treated very poorly. We were put on hold for drinks and they even didn’t deliver drinks we paid for to our table when we brought this up with the waiter we were argued with and denied our drinks that we paid for.

Ordered breakfast at 11 05 on Sunday and by 11 50 we still had not received any meal The meals where being cooked ok but we're not being served To the customers at one time there was at least a dozen meals lying under the heat lamps I asked twice if ours were ready was told no I was told it was due to a staff shortage ended asking for my money back and went to the Shakespeare for something to eat and drink which was superb 👌

I just say wow when you have a view from the gallery. Such a unique location for Spoons. It was an old cinema before so yes love the retro movie poster around and movie camera at the entrance. Good service though by app. Big staff team. Food was hot and delicious. Atmosphere was top class even worth to pop in just for a drink. So romantic and cool view from the top gallery. Even there’s plenty of seatings on top and on ground floor. Massive big place. Surely recommend.

Apart from the surroundings, food was nothing great, suppose you get what you pay for, but for a few quid more could have had something much nicer, last time I'm going unless in desperation.

Lovely building. Staff are very friendly and Donna the lady that does the cleaning is incredibly thorough. Don’t lose her! Brian who looks after the building maintenance keeps on top of his job and the place always has a fresh paint job somewhere thanks to him. The lighting could do with upgrading a bit, it’s a bit dingy in there due to it being an old cinema with very few windows.

A restaurant that serves all types of cuisine. It's a renovated theater so it's really cool. The food is delicious and the beer is good too.

Worth going on a Sat/Sun morning. There's not many places in the city centre where you can have a big cooked breakfast and unlimited coffee for less than £10. Nice setting as well.

Este interior es maravilloso y hay tres niveles diferentes para sentarse, dependiendo de cuántas escaleras desea subir! Debido a que la sala es tan alta que absorbe las multitudes mejor que la mayoría de los pubs, aunque estaba menos ocupado que otros Wetherspoons que probamos. Mi filete era bueno y la única desventaja era que se habían quedado sin su sidra de invitados, pero su habitual es potable. El servicio fue sorprendentemente rápido considerando lo ocupados que estaban.

Stunning..what a magnificent interior. Worth popping in to see even if you can't find a seat. Which is most likely, as very popular. We bought a drink at the bar and stood in awe at the fabulous vista. Then we left as there were zero places to sit.

Last time I visited this building was to see a band called the Gaslight Anthem many years ago. It is quite impressive how the venue has been repurposed and they managed to put toilets on both levels!. I had my 15 year old with me for food and we had a couple of drinks before going to see a band in a local record store. It was very busy as it was Saturday evening and the tables were turning over too quickly to keep up with the cleaning before people cleared them themselves. The food came quite quickly and was piping hot and very tasty. Overall it was quite messy due to the amount of people and there were too many different paper menus all over the tables. I'd like to go back mid week and try sitting upstairs as I don't think this was a typical experience.

Was in Edinburgh with my wife and 21 year old son to celebrate his 21st birthday for the weekend. I ordered meals and drinks and waitress asked my son for id which he supplied but was still refused alcohol. Luckily my son is an absolute gentleman and changed his order to a soft drink to accommodate this woman. As for the gourmet burger it was dry and tasteless. Really disappointed as my neice recommended it.

Best Wetherspoons I've been in, I reckon. It is gorgeous, very spacious, and the multi-level setup of it ensures that even on the busiest days, it never truly feels that crowded. The food and drinks are just Wetherspoons regular stuff, does the trick. Would gladly recommend visiting The Caley Picture House.

I'm not a Child of the Spoons, but if you only go there to check out the glorious restoration of a former cinema, you will be adequately rewarded. (The veg Asian noodles were borderline inedible, but there were much better options, it seemed. Not everything on the master menu is available, and the staff seemed confused when presented with it.) Buy a drink, go to the top floor and just take it all in. Spectacular.

Wetherspoons used to be cheap&cheerful.it no longer is but one thing that hasn't changed is the abysmal service;not the barmans fault he was on his own(&he clearly knew what he was about,he was serving people who'd been waiting longest)but surely over a dozen people waiting to be served should be telling the most inept of managers it was time to lend a hand

Every time I visit Edimburgh I go there! Always a pleasure! We take dinner there, very well decorated and lovely and fun atmosphere! Big space and well coordinated. Also, we have lost a wallet there and they kept it for us. Thank you so much at the restaurant manager of the place at that time for returning enterile it with all our belongings inside (very very honest - we really appreciate it seriously) and also thank you so much at the staff for keeping the wallet (probably it was found by a waitress) We will come back for sure!! Really nice place to grab some food and a drink. Loved the atmosphere and the food never lets you down. Prices are slightly higher than the other w.spoons.

Does what it should with brilliant staff

Went in with my friend earlier, we are both in our 20ties and look it. She has visible tattoos which are clearly professionally done, something you can't get done professionally until you're 18 in Scotland and she also has piercings which you can only legally get done professionally at 18. Despite this, her Id was declined by the waitress. We said fine and went on our way since we had somewhere to be anyway. Came back later just for some food. The place was packed so we had to sit outside. One of the men working came over and asked for ID since he saw us in earlier to which we showed him our ID but said we only wanted food. He went back in to speak to the other waitress and came back out to tell us we can't order drinks which was fine as we just wanted food and said so. He then told us we can't order food either despite initially saying we just couldn't order drinks. Complete joke really. Another Wetherspoons in the area accepted both of our IDs and allowed us to eat so clearly just these two certain individuals having an issue. There were also people in there being served drink who were very clearly much younger than us. Also after reading other reviews we weren't the only ones who received this treatment. Maybe some training for staff is needed here.

This used to be one of the best wetherspoons in edinburgh but every time the blonde female duty manager is on the whole mood in the place changes she obviously does not like folk enjoying themselves.

Particular place, it is a former cinema transformed very well into a pub, good food, wide choice of beer and cheap prices for the area

A beautiful old cinema (latterly bingo hall) conversion - retaining a lot of its old ambience. Very busy & noisy - staff got confused over my order. Staff took quite some time clearing used tables of glasses/plates. Not enough staff behind bar so service took quite some time. When the food arrived it was excellent & hot. I'd give it another go in the future!!!!

Food served promptly, drinks 35 mins wait? Complained and bar staff said "nothing to do with him". Asked for refund, was told it was done, but had to go back and confirm refund as it wasn't done. Shame really as food was decent. App said 3 mins wait for drinks.....so 35 mins isn't exactly anywhere near.

Crazily noisy. Very hard to hear eachother but id that's your thing, great value wethers prices and decent range of beers.
