We stayed at The Cliftonville to celebrate our 25th anniversary and from the moment we arrived the service was brilliant. The hotel is stunning as soon as you walk in. Our room like all the rooms had a sea view and the staff had even left a gift and message congratulating us. We ate in the restaurant that evening and again the service and food was 1st class. If you're ever in the area I'd highly recommend staying at The Cliftonville, you won't be disappointed

Food was ok but too much rice and not enough pokara , greasy papadam but I ate it as I was hungry after a day of travelling. Small portion of trout and too many potatoes. Friendly enough but very slow service and it wasn’t even very busy. We had to ask several times for the dessert menu. Nice setting overlooking the sea.

We went out as a family of 4 for dinner at the Cliftonville based in the good reviews. We were however extremely disappointed. The service wasn’t very good, waiting for the plates to be removed and meals appearing at different times rather than all together. They forgot my husband’s pudding altogether, eventually it appeared after reminding them. Mine and my sons desserts kept coming out incorrect, he was upset as they had put a strange chocolate paste and caramel sauce on his ice cream that he hadn’t asked for (it was a make your own Sunday in which you could pick toppings). The food quality was generally poor, the kids steaks were extemely small and chewy with no side veg/salad, just chips and a few strands of something like lambs lettuce or cress. Our fish and chips was very mediocre, definitely not worth £17 each. To top it all off, they added 12.5% service charge! We won’t be visiting again. We felt really duped and wish we had just gone to the local fish and chip shop rather than wasting £111.

We visited the Cliftonville Restaurant three times for dinner while in Cromer for the carnival. We thought it was the best place in town for food. If the weather is nice nice they have a lovely outside area looking out to the sea. The new pizza ‘s are for sharing and are massive. Very tasty. We also tried the Salmon , Prawn & , Mussel Linguini delicious and the Future Farm Vegan Burger that was so realistic we had to check it was vegan. Nice staff and surroundings.

We didn't eat, but I saw the food coming out and looked at the menu and I am really surprised that previous reviews aren't better. It's a great spot, really well appointed and renovated. The views are great from the huge windows. The staff are impressive. I would definitely recommend going in for a drink and trying it for yourself.

We went for lunch. The large bar room was a bit chilly but views out to the sea made up for it. Great menu, the standard menu is a 'corporate' one as this hotel is part of a chain, however it had a wide choice and some imaginative and local dishes. We chose from the 'Specials' menu which we were told was down to the chef at the time - so it would change regularly and seasonally. The food was hot, generously portioned and very tasty. It wasn't over seasoned, was nicely presented and was very good value for money. The only reason we gave it 4 stars and not five was that there was only one staff member around for most of the time, it could have been a bit warmer and the wines were a little on the 'cheap' tasting side. Other than those minor quibbles, we'll certainly be back, and can't wait for summer to sit on the lovely large terrace over-looking the sea for a nice spot of lunch.

I went with two friends on a Saturday night. A very poor uninspired menu. Choices were; burger & chips, fish & chips, shepherds pie, steak & chips, muscles & chips! (Weird). Food was cold. Expensive. We didn’t have a starter as they were £10-£11 each! Pudding ok but again, nothing very exciting. They called last orders at 9:30pm…!? Mind you, we were the last (and only ones) in there on a Saturday night! It’s a shame as the place has been done up beautifully. It’s the second time I’ve been. The first time was for a Sunday roast which was all under cooked and when I complained they ignored me. It was £19 for a roast beef dinner! I’m afraid I won’t be going back.

Called in here today and had two hot chocolates made with real chocolate and two mince pies There drink regular is tiny And you may as well of been drinking dishwater talk about skimp on the main ingredient (chocolate it's in the name ) The mince pies were over priced and stuck to the case on the bottom would have had a nicer taste experience buying the cheapest supermarket box of mince pies and saved myself a few quid and had a better taste experience So folks there you have it overpriced and poor ingredients served here tometoday

Wow what a find. the best place to eat for miles around if you have dogs with you as it is very dog friendly. We went for Sunday lunch and sat out on the covered terrace next to the lovely garden. There was a choice of 4 roast meats and a vegetarian option. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The cost was also very reasonable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere.

Great staff, amazing views, nice range of beers. They continue to do a great job on the pier, we are so lucky to have it. It's a treasure that has been beautifully maintained.

Have popped in occasionally and had the most delicious pie and gravy. Was in the area Saturday and thought a lovely pie and gravy will go down a treat on such a cold day. Saturday luch time, no pies on the menu, just a very basic baguette, omlette, baked potato menu, really disappointed. Should have guessed, very sparse of dinners. Ordered the egg baguette, to be told a minute later 'we can't get hold of any eggs'. So all the omlettes were unavailable too. I've just been to a farmers market down the road that's full of eggs and pies! Cheese baguette ok, very cheap colesaw on side( sorry being really picky now). It has changed hands and don't believe the menu online, we won't be going back.
