West View Restaurant in South Lakeland

We had the half crispy duck as a starter and lemon chicken and sweet chilli chicken for mains with salt & pepper chips. All the food tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. Great choice for an anniversary meal.

Booked for 7pm and they happily moved my booking to 8pm on request. We had the sweet and sour & the west view noodles and they were both absolutely delicious, the nicest sweet and sour I’ve ever ever had! Couldn’t recommend more. Lovely seating area. Only thing I’d say is don’t follow Apple Maps there it takes you to the wrong place, it’s next to rastelli’s italian. If we come back to Windermere we will definitely be returning!

Tried West View as a treat, as heard it was pricey. Order 3 dishes and ribs and it cost £78. I was gob smacked that the cost was so much. Well we thought that for that price the cuisine must be fantastic. How wrong we were, special curry was watery, Kung po was short on cashews and the chilli that was used was a dried chilli and that was difficult to eat, the special fried rice was run of the mill. At least give people a free bag, after all how are you supposed to transport your meal home. I see that you don't actually reply to any comments other than to try the local Chinese in Windermere. Being local I would like to recommend you to friends and colleagues but unfortunately I can't. Overpriced and not very nice. Better restaurants available.

My lovely wife had never tasted Korean food before - she has now! Her starter of chicken wings reminded me of the Korean street food you can get in London - and that's a pretty high standard. She followed with an enormous portion of Singapore fried rice that would have overfaced Henry VII - the last time I ate this dish it was about the portion that wifey got. I was a bit more conservative. Duck rolls were well seasoned and crisp to the bite and mt beef in black bean sauce with noodles was a welcome reminder that the classics still need a high standard of cooking - it delivered. We washed it all down with a bottle of prosecco. Service was excellent from two young ladies who were prompt and friendly throughout. The next time I'm on Bowness I think I know where to go for dinner - it was that good.

Lovely food and friendly, swift service. Good choice of vegetarian and pescatarian options. We had gyozas and spring rolls to start, and prawn kimchi fried rice and tofu bibimbap for mains. Absolutely loved all the food and the experience.

Terrible takeaway, not great food, charge 50p for a bag to take your takeaway home in! Not worth it! Expensive below average food, nice looking on inside pity the food doesn't match.

We were recommended to go to this restaurant and we have not been disappointed on our first visit this evening. This was the best Chinese food we have eaten for a long time. The food was freshly cooked right in front of us and our only disappointment is that we are not local so can’t go on a regular basis. The service was also first class. We will definitely be back, just not as soon as we would like.

My wife and I were really looking forward to visiting this restaurant as we had read some good reviews. We must emphasise how polite and friendly the servers were, and made us feel welcome. However, we ordered the California rolls and spring rolls as a starter. The spring rolls were very poor indeed. They seemed as though they were just bought frozen and placed in the oven. I’m not at all suggesting that they were, but it’s how they looked and tasted. The California rolls were not that great. My wife ordered kapao chicken and she was not impressed. She left most of it. I ordered the salt and pepper spare ribs. I usually love these and that’s why I ordered them. They were awful. So salty and tough. The menu here is not exactly cheap. We paid over £60 for our food and we feel that when you charge this kind of money to people, then you have a responsibility to provide food that warrants that amount. The food did not warrant anywhere near this value and we feel very let down.

Absolutely disgusting and rude owners! Me and my family are regulars in this restaurant and the shock I had on Saturday night was disgusting! I noticed my main meal had been sat on the hot plate for over ten minutes before my partners meal had been served! So when my main course arrived I explained that it had been sat on the side, I felt it and it was Luke warm! The lady huffed and obviously wasn’t very happy! The chef who is the owner starting shouting 1,2,3 and so on loud across the whole restaurant once he had served my replacement meal on how long it took the server to bring it over! The food in this restaurant has always been amazing and so has the service! The owners only until recently have starting working in the restaurant and they are bringing the place down! If he is the owner and chef you would think he’d understand the cooking times and differences between two main meals so they can be served together at the same time! Obviously they can’t handle criticism

Ate here on a Sunday evening. Nice decor and atmosphere. Food was equally impressive. Creative dishes cooked to perfection. Would definitely revisit. I should also add that if you want Chinese/Japanese and you have a dog with you I’m pretty sure this is your only option. That’s not to suggest it was full of dogs. Pretty sure we were the only table with our dog fast asleep below our feast!

Throughout the week-long vacation, we prepared and enjoyed our meals at the Airbnb house for every dining occasion except for one, when we dined at the West View restaurant. Regrettably, this led to the entire family falling ill with vomiting and diarrhea. Consequently, the subsequent part of our trip had to be canceled, and unfortunately, the two-year-old baby has been experiencing diarrhea for the past six days and counting. 在west view吃饭我们全家都上吐下泻了，而且为期七天的旅行中，我们每顿饭都在Airbnb房子里自己做饭用餐，只有一顿是在外面吃的，所以可以确定是餐厅品控差，家里两岁半的宝宝腹泻了六天还没好，而且宝贝从来未腹泻过，这家餐厅真的是太差了。

Very fresh, clean, tasty Chinese. It was so good last night, we came back! Def worth a visit. Not just Chinese, menu had sushi, Japanese and even Korean food. You can watch the chef make your food from your seat. Nice

It was quiet for a busy resteraunt - serving a taste infusion which seemed very popular with locals. It is a casual restaurant where you can unwind and watch the world go by. We ordered a mix of Korean Beef lettuce wrap, and Beef ramen. Both were highly delictable. The Korean Beef Wrap is served in a fantastic sauce with a hint of sweetness which doesn't overwhelm the savoury flavour. The beef was cooked to perfection. The beef ramen had a rich and tasty soup with succulent beef which melts in the mouth, including an egg which compliments the dish. The staff are friendly and checked on our comfort throughout the meal at just the right moment - whilst we were talking and didn't have a mouthful of food - other restaurants could learn this technique to mould it into an industry standard. The restaurant is modern with a fantastic chanalier over the staircase which apparently doesn't lead to another level - which is a shame because the only downside was there weren't enough seats! This is a popular restaurant and we would recommend booking a table if this is possible.

Popped here for dinner on our last night in Windermere and it was amazing! Excellent service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Definitely worth a visit!

Food disgusting. Inedible. Simply horrible. Asked for the bill, in fairness they didnt make us pay got the impression it was a regular occurrence. Plenty of good places in Bowness don't go to this place.
