Fantastic bar that serves fantastic ales and beers. No food but that's okay we went to have a few pints and chill. Was so good the following day we done the bull run and went to the other 3 bars the family own. Do all 4 in one day for a keyring! All the bars are great and all have a varying selection. I recommend a pint of stagger saurus

Been meaning to drop in for a while now, glad we did. Great selection of quality ales and reasonably priced. Traditional feel, upturned beer barrels for seating, beer and snacks, no TV or music just a great safe location to sit and chat with a beer.

Had our first proper visit to this Craft Beer House in Fareham. Great to see a local independent option! They have an excellent range of beers on tap and also a good selection of beers to take home from their shop. Very friendly & welcoming. It had a really nice vibe and an owner who was happy to advise on beers you might like based on your tastes We'll definitely be going back & would recommend. Always great to support local businesses.

Admittedly we were late arrivals ie 9.25pm. The bar man did not look up from his phone. When asked if it was table service he said no drinks could be served after 9.30pm. Obviously going home early is preferable to making any money. Don’t bother going here .

West st Alehouse and its staff are the best thing to happen in Fareham for years, they have created a new community of like minded people that want to go out and enjoy a beer, chat without the loud music and TV screens, this has now become my local and i love the place, they dont do food but you can bring food in from any of the numerous takeaways in town and they will supply you with a plate and cutlery.

My husband & I always stay in The Red Lion Hotel in Fareham when we visit local family. We always find it easy to book a room for our stay either direct through the hotel reception or via Booking.com. We have previously either stayed in a business double room in The Stables as that has a shower or the room directly behind reception with a low level bath & over shower. These rooms have been suitable for my health needs. We have always been welcomed with a smile from the member of staff on reception. This visit was for our BIL'S funeral. We booked a room & breakfast deal direct through the hotel which was an accessible room with walk in shower which we have never stayed in. It was at the time of booking a cheaper option rather than the business double room in The Stables. Sadly we wasn't treated at reception with our usual happy smiling face which we found surprising, especially as we have always received a very warm welcome on all of our other previous visits. Our room was very spacious, which was helpful as I use a walking stick. The room decor was as always up to date, clean, tidy & inviting. We had the usual tea, coffee & kettle etc. We found it very hard to fit the large kettle under the bathroom tap to fill it upto make a hot drink. Maybe consider giving guests a slightly smaller kettle to make this simple task more easier? We found we didn't have enough milk sachets to cover our coffee's etc, so I had to ask reception for more, which they happily supplied. We found that the bathroom sink tap never ran cold. It was either luke warm or warm, even though there was a 'beware of hot water' sticker above the sink. We enjoyed our room except for two things. The bedroom door is far to heavy to open for a disabled person like myself, let alone a person in a wheelchair. The door opens outwards & a wheelchair user will seriously struggle to open the door, although it is an accessible room! The wet room floor was filthy black with usage. It needs a really good scrub, not just a mopping. I have always owned a wet room & they have to be cleaned deeply after every use or they do stain black. As we were visiting to attend our BIL'S funeral, we didn't have the energy to ask to move room after unpacking but we won't book into that room, 66, in future visits to The Red Lion Hotel, Fareham. We will pay more & stay in the business room in The Stables. Over all, our stay was nice but it could have been better. On a very positive note though, our daily breakfasts over our 2 day stay & evening meal were amazing & extremely good value, large portions & plenty of choice etc. Compliments to the chef, kitchen staff & restaurant staff. Thank you all & see you soon. Mr & Mrs Robinson 17/11/2024 to 19/11/2024.
