I always enjoy going to this coffee shop. The staff are very efficient and friendly.

The staff here are friendly and very attentive. The service is great even when they are busy. My 97 year old mum is one of the many elderly people that they go the extra mile for. On a recent visit from Australia, my sister remarked that the Coffee Cup was the best hot chocolate she had had while she was here.

Lovely coffee and very friendly staff. Special mention to Helen who keeps the place running smoothly. Supported by here great team. Always treated with a smile even when they are busy.

Good selection of drinks and food

I came here with a friend for a catch up, to be disappointed with the slow and inconsistent service my friend received her flavoured latte 18 minutes before my biscoff latte was ready resulting in her drinking her coffee before I got mine… I would understand if it was busy but there was 3 staff and 2 other tables who didn’t order while we were there.

Very friendly little cafe, recommended. Very good selection of cakes and food, coffee was good. Nice large cups for the medium size coffee ☕

Staff and patrons are lovely. Good choice of cake and savoury options. Took both my kids, one toddler and one older kid, and they had fun too. Portchester's finest cafe.

This is my favourite little spot for a light breakfast on a Sunday morning. I’m here with my partner most weekends, and sometimes during the week, too. The coffee is delicious and the pastries, particularly the pains au chocolat, are incredible - and even more delightful warmed up! Simply wonderful in every way.

The best coffee shop ☕ around by far, coffee is much better than Costa and better choice of drinks and food and very good value for money I'd go nowhere else if possible for a coffee. The staff are lovely and always very pleasant. Seriously if you want a good coffee then coffee cup is the place to go specifically the Portchester one but all are fabulous.

Had Paininis , sausage roll, choc muffins, Bakewell tart and apple shortcake. All fantastic. Lovely staff all very welcoming and food was quick. 100% customer service

The staff this includes the manager Do what they need to do but I don’t find them welcoming it’s all very business but no chat they avoid chat with me which is not how to treat customers although nice coffee there is one staff who is very friendly and welcoming sadly not seen her for a long while she makes it a good experience she is the reason I return unfortunately the rest do not they should learn from the coffee cup in south sea who are exellent and very helpful

Didn't think much of the new decor but friendly staff and good food

Staff are always friendly to me and my baby boy. I come here 2 or 3 times a week. Since the refurbishment its cleaner, I just wish the tables had a bit more space as fitting a baby and stroller can be tough otherwise 5stars easy.

A few more vegetarian options would be amazing, but we always love coming here. The mocha's are fabulous 🤩

Regular customers at this location which has recently had a very impressive make over and has livened up the inside. A great range of hot beverages and nice flavoursome coffee which is not to strong. served in an efficient friendly manner and much quicker service than another establishment in the vicinity. Nice tasty range of snacks and cakes. The staff are very friendly and helpful in particular keira and leesa. Leesa in particular is very friendly and has a cheerful manner .

Met a friend here today. We ordered de caf tea, latte and 2 toasted teacakes. No milk for the tea when it came and when I asked for some I was told yes there was. I said please come and look and was simply told there was definitely milk on the tray. With very bad grace and under toned comments suggesting we had probably pinched the jug the girl brought one out. By then we had opened our tea cakes. There was hardly any colour to either one and both were just warm. I raised this, askingwhy they had served these obviously untoasted. The lady rudely told me its how they came. I asked why the man who was being served when I asked about the milk got a beautifully toasted one and she just said it was not their fault we just got unlucky. I am so shocked at this and embarrassed that I took a friend there for such poor serv. The least I expected was a polite explanation and perhaps an offer to put it through the toaster again or replace. As for the milk..there was none on the tray and I dislike being talked about by the staff suggesting I am a thief! I have an image of the teacake. I won't go here again. Such a shame as I use the seafront one regularly and the Porchester one has never been so rude before.

My friend and I both ordered a toasted teacake which was presented to us just like a warm bun with a tiny bit toasted. We then saw a gentleman pass us with a properly toasted teacake. We asked the staff if they would toast ours a bit more and we were told that it was just how they come out of the packet. She refused to take our teacakes away and toast them a bit more. She told us that was how they come. What a load of old tosh!!!!! The attitude of the staff was completely unacceptable with a feeling of her saying " I can't be bothered, take it or leave it" . She also had a very haughty attitude which is also unacceptable. I am disabled and my friend is temporarily disabled and we both felt like second hand citizens who don't matter. Neither of us will be returning to the portchester shop. However, this experience is completely different to the 2 coffee shops on the Southsea promenade which belong to the same group. They are usually very much more helpful.

Disappointed at best......the so called strawberry ice-cream shake was like luke warm powdered shake and the berry's drinks was like lumpy water......as well as waiting nearly 20 minutes as there was only one poor boy serving....was also very untidy and its not even busy.....absolutely gutted as normally there service is alot better.......

Lovely little shop visit everyday for a hot chocolate and coffees for my work team 👌 cakes to die for 🍰 and the pizzas breads are delicious 🍕 yummm! We live locally and had to pop to Portchester after school so thought we would try out the local coffee shop. Donna served us with smiles and grace and my two children were delighted with the hot chocolate with extra cream and marshmallows and the ice cream shake that was served. There’s a cute kids corner where the youngest could colour and I actually enjoyed my delicious latte in peace! I highly recommend this friendly family business and it was so nice to see Donna’s son helping out in there also after school. Definitely worth a visit! Thank you x

I came in for the first time today with the family and I can’t express enough how wonderful the service was. It was a very busy day but the staff were more than capable of managing. I was served by Kira, who was very kind and helpful, and the young girl working alongside her was also very lovely too. We all had cakes, as well as coffee and tea, and they were all delicious, and the service was very quick and efficient! I will definitely be coming back here again!

I stop here most Saturdays and it is always friendly and the coffee is lovely. You can sit inside or out in the precinct which is nice when the sun is shining.

The food and coffee are good, the staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming and premises are clean if a little cramped but there are plenty of tables outside. There is a smoking area well away from the entrance and a non smoking area immediately outside the door.

If you want to wait an age for a simple black coffee 20 minutes to arrive and 4 tables still waiting. You can't get slower never again

Nice little place with excellent staff and service

Rude, disinterested, staff with poor attitudes. Don’t seem to appreciate there are plenty of other options for a quick snack and a drink in Portchester. Distinct lack of vegetarian options and staff weren’t prepared to make any more. Poor service once can be put down to a bad day but it’s bad all the time... this is our last visit.

Had a quick visit while in the area , food and drinks were good. A little expensive. The lady was lovely and very friendly. I would have given 5 stars but the decor and floor were a little tired. Will definitely visit again.

I ordered a cafe latte with no foam (a wet latte), but this could not be provided by the young barrista, so it had loads of foam. I also ordered a hot sausage roll, and then sat outside to wait for my order. Some 10 minutes later (to microwave a sausage roll?),the roll turned up, and was quite the most anaemic looking sausage roll I have every seen - more pale greyish pink than anything else, with zero flavour, and the pastry was also rather anaemic too. For this and the latte, I got 30 pence change from £5.00 and was really disappointed.

Stopped in Portchester after visiting Southwick priory on the way to Portchester castle. Quiet precinct, free parking available and the only cafe open. Friendly, good service, delicious bacon bap and very good coffee. Value for money.

Bit expensive, ages in queue to order & food took a while to be brought out even tho 2 out of 3 were cold items!

Met up with friends for coffee, excellent range of beverages and cakes and hot food at very reasonable prices would visit again and would reccomend to friends.

Sunday morning and I'm sitting with a chai latte and cinnamon swirl. Young woman at cash was ever so friendly and helpful. Yummy cinnamon swirl too.

We only had a coffee but noticed a good selection of light bites on the menu.

I had never been to this café before, but decided to try it on a Sunday, when my regular haunt was closed. I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee was very good, there was quite a selection of snacks both sweet and savoury. Inside and outside seating was available, which was a bonus on a warm and sunny day. The service. was very good but extra pair of hands, at times, would have been helpful to the cheerful young lady who was serving. The inside look of the place could do with a bit of "jazzing up" too, but these two minor points will not stop me from returning.

I like the Coffee Cup and the coffee etc. is good. On Bank Holiday Monday I went to Coffee Cup at Eastney but it was too busy to go in. I therefore went back to the Portchester Coffee Cup - the website says that it is open on Monday all the year round until 4.30pm - when I got there with my elderly mother at 3pm I was told they close at 3pm. Correct information should be on the website, hence my Poor rating.

Unfortunately tried this coffee shop for the second time and have had to lower my review from 2 star to 1 as have bad yet again another terrible experience. Terrible rude and unhelpful staff! Will never be setting foot back in here again! Would Avoid this place! Dry cake, cold coffee, sister said her cold chocolate was not nice. long service waiting time. Dirty table and chairs. Not worth the price they charge :(
