The Wicor Mill in Fareham

First time visit. Will definitely return.

We had my Mother in Laws wake here yesterday and from the first phone call to book it until we left it was such a positive experience. We were met with nothing but kindness and friendliness. They had separated an area off for us but as the weather was so good we were also able to sit in the garden. The food was great very tasty, well presented and plenty of it.

Only stopped for a pint with kids but had bouncy castle they loved it.

Not sure what to say about the Wicor, it's definitely not what it used to be but maybe partly bevause were in hard times.

Very nice pub. Beer reasonably price will definitely come back. Only negative was the gas pressure is wayy too high on the beer resulting in a 2.5cm head on each pint they poured as I watched. They topped it up no problem, but the barmaid didn't really understand how to fix. Wasn't fair on her really by the management.

First time here. Great service this evening. Nice atmosphere.

Only leaving 4 stars as there were things not available from the menu, chef was new but went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Great atmosphere. Good food. Will be back

Bad first experience at Wicor. Poor lady was on her own trying to cook and serve at the bar on a busy sunny Weds teatime. No mgt came to help her. Food came after an hours wait and was fine. Not sure if we will return...

Meet friends for a drink, since when have kids been able to play football indoors? Specially when there is a garden outside, no one seemed bothered to say take the ball outside. Used to be full of families enjoying Sunday lunch very hit and miss as to when food is available.

We visited the Wicor Mill for a birthday meal we were very pleasantly surprised, as we heard it was under new management & thought we’d give it a go. They were very friendly & helpful food was delicious & would definitely be back. Also they had the best homemade onion rings!!

Sadly gone down hill recently. Cold, soggy & flavourless food (I had the cod & chips). My partner ordered a platter and rather than tell us they had run out of elements, they just served him replacements (fish fingers rather than a fish cake). Toilets are often out of toilet roll and gum stuck to the sink. Used to be our favourite local.

We've not been here before and had formed an opinion based on past reviews. Wow how different ! New management looks like it's all to be turned around ? Staff were friendly and helpful bar was noisy as it was tradesmen going home time on a Friday night but a real mix of the local community. Tables of young and mature. We enjoyed a great English pub meal served by attentive staff and really enjoyed a good 1.5 hours in this venue. Well worth another visit.

A complete surprise! Whilst waiting for our dog being discharged from the Vet, we enjoyed an excellent fish lunch for £10.50 including a pint of beer. The fish was very unusual, since it was cooked fresh, with a homemade beer batter. Unusually, the size of the portion was very large for a couple in their 70’s. So no supper needed. Again another pleasant surprise. The cask beer was very good! It was somewhat undeceivable quite which takes a point of atmosphere. But again unusual, the pub does not have a tv on every available wall space. Will return!

Am moving round the corner so I popped in to see what it was like,great selection of lagers on tap very good price aswell and the 2 bar starf were very friendly and had a nice chat with them,definitely be back once I've settled in, been back and they have some great promotions on ,buy a beer get a 2nd half price on a Monday 😁👍🍻,pop in here when I can and I like it here

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime for a spot of lunch. They had no Coke, ordered a burger and a flatbread, they couldn’t do my burger so ordered a different one, then they said they couldn’t do the flatbread either due to a delivery coming on Monday. Very poor. Was looking forward to trying the pub since it’s under new management and we are very local. Won’t bother again.

We booked the Wicor Mill for our dear Dads wake, which took place yesterday. We, as a Family would like to thank everyone that contributed to making this so perfect in every way possible. The array of buffet food was excellent- with the chef checking regularly through the afternoon if the food needed replenishing. The dirty plates quickly cleared away and restocked. This little gem is immaculately clean, with attention to detail on every level. Thank you all once again - I would not hesitate at all in recommending you.

Couldn't get In today a pick up lorry was locking the whole car park so went somewhere else.

Excellent meal. Food was excellent, service outstanding. Well done.

Walked in and waited at the bar for 5 minutes. No acknowledgement from the bar staff. Bar man serving one customer. Another member of staff serving someone round the corner.There was no one else waiting. Barman finished serving, walked past us and started writing something down - again no acknowledgement; no 'i won't be a minute '. The other member of staff walked past, no smile or acknowledgement. Needless to say, we walked out!

The food was wonderful and delicious, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was friendly and family orientated, I highly recommend here!

Originally a 5 star, they tell me they've stopped keeping real ale. Won't be going there again. Sorry, I don't like gassy lagers and their bottled beers are too strong for my liking and a poor choice to boot. Why do they panda to the lowest common denominator when they were once the highest common factor?

Drove 20 mins on a Saturday for food to find none being served. Terrible!

Used to go here a lot recent change of hands. Now a loud noisy pub even sat in the garden which used to be full of families, lads swearing at a loud level. Food hit and miss as to when the kitchen is open. Real shame that the local we enjoyed has gone down hill. The new landlord really needs to take control of the loud offensive language being used in what used to be a fun family local pub.

Avoid this pub, now doesn’t sell any ale expect bottles of cold beer at an exorbitant price, the pub doesn’t seem to welcome anybody over the age of 40 so has no atmosphere expect the seemingly endless stream of ear numbing noise from people shouting and loud music. The pub needs some paint and a landlord who knows how to run a local pub.

Went for the Thursday night quiz. Great vibe with a really friendly atmosphere. Drinks much cheaper than other pubs in the area.

After an 8 mile walk along the Costal Path we called in for refreshments. So pleased we did. What a friendly welcome on a cold day. Great pub fare too at very reasonable prices.

I am the fussiest person with my food , And coming from another establishment in the area the food here is fantastic. , Chloe the Cauliflower cheese is lovely , good home cooked potatoes , definitely recommend the roast , burgers chicken mix. ,,good deals on in the week.

Nice garden, near a good dog walking route. Stopped off here on the way home because the website said the kitchen was open all day but upon arrival find that the kitchen is shut mid afternoon on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Would suggest putting this on the website

Myself, my husband and two friends visited The Wicor Mill. Nice ambiance. Staff were very polite and attentive. The food was very good pub grub and reasonably priced.

Had my husbands wake at this lovely pub. The landlord made sure that everything thing was spot on. The staff her are amazing. I will definitely be returning to this lovely traditional pub.

I have visited this place loads of times for food now, and my absolute favourite food they currently offer is their desperados burger it has just the right level of spice and always looks amazing and taste awesome the chips come coated in their famous desperados sauce too which is amazing. I've also had the lasagne before and their hunters chicken both also really good and very nicely presented, the staff are always friendly and very welcoming, nothing seems to much trouble for them. Very family friendly great with kids also dog friendly too. Huge garden, it is all around a great local place to visit for food and drinks :-) many thanks from a very happy returning customer

We popped in for something to eat the other evening. Went for the burgers, they were fabulous. Really impressed with my Fiery Burger with jalapeños.

We held my mums celebration of life at the wicor on the 17th February. Wicor provided buffet food and tea and coffee they were really friendly and accommodating. Thank you x

Went to see The Mafia play here. Good atmosphere great band. Reasonable prices

Chicken frozen Came in this evening for 50% off main meals. Always had a nice experience, but this evening has put me off ever eating in here again. The half roast chicken I ordered was frozen through. I tapped my knife on the chicken and you could hear it was hard and frozen. I sent the chicken back and got a refund. My partner no longer wanted to eat his meal- a health hazard when it comes to chicken. Sorry to have the right this review, very disappointed :(

I love the Wicor Mill, is the best local around me, every time I come here I have a lovely time. Staff are the friendliest people and very approachable. 10/10 service, never a dull moment, would highly recommend!!

Decent place, nice decor and well presented. Usual spread of beers and spirits, but tried the food yet but will do soon. Sports area with a big screen and couple TVs, pool table and dart board

We went today to Wicor Mill, we booked in advance, there were 7 of us in the end. We were impressed, I had never been before and neither had my friends but we will return. The lady behind the bar (I didn't get her name) treated my friend with such kindness and respect when she was trying to choose food, she was very grateful, it made her lunch so much more enjoyable and she did like the food. Good food choices, lovely atmosphere, thanks.

Absolutely the best pub fish and chips in Portsmouth area! Very friendly staff, good prices, plenty of room for social distancing if that's what makes you feel safe & great social life with Thursday quizzes, & annual beer fests in the large garden - an added bonus.

Went to watch the Mafia rock cover band was a friendly place with great music and great service with no one hogging the bar counter so you could actually get served

Popped in for a quick bite on Wed 22nd Sept, as they were doing 50% off main meals. Staff are friendly and cheerful. I wasn't sure on a beer, so was given a taster, a lot of pubs don't offer this. Food was pretty good as well. We had 2 mains and 2 pints for near on £20. Not bad really.

Good quality roast dinner, very nice open plan with comfortable relaxing garden area.

Very lively establishment on a sunny Saturday afternoon, bouncy castle keeping the younger kids well happy, the volume of the high pitched screams is the give away! Plenty of seats in the sun trap of a garden, most with covering for the coming season. Well kept pint of London Pride was my choice this arvo. Welcoming and pleasent staff.

Disappointing. No home cooked food here just heated and served. Staff are friendly and it's a big place with great big TVs so good if you want to watch the football I suppose.

Decided to give our local pub a try havent been for a while. Lots of good seating in the garden and well thought out, although full ashtrays in a abundance, chose a table in the sun with no ashtray. apparently food was 50% off, bonus. Ordered breaded mushrooms, they were still icy when i bit into them, returned and replaced no problem, except they were the same mushrooms including the one i had bitten into( hygeine standards shouldnt allow them to be returned to the fat fryer!) they were much better this time round except for the 2nd to last one, which was much smaller than the rest. I ate it in one.... it was either a prawn or scampi, definately not a mushroom!. I am not a vegan but hate seafood. I let it go with a mention to the waitress, and dreaded the main course! Chicken in sauce was much better although sauce very watery, nice crisp green beans and the chips were lovely till the sauce made them too soggy to eat. My partner ordered gammon and egg, gammon and chips were fine, but peas looked old, yellowy green and tasted vile. egg was rock hard and crispy not what anyone would ask for. Sadly will not be supporting or recommending, in the future. Shame

Good pub, friendly staff, good value

Food was hot and tasty. Atmosphere was a bit quiet, but it was Wednesday. We were please to find hot food, as we'd walked from the marina.

Visit here quite often, always lovely food and drinks, staff are always helpful, good prices for the amount of food served. Will definitely return.

What I saw was disgusting. Landlady pouring beer over customers head. And then punching him in the mouth. For absolutely no reason. He was smartly dressed and extremely good looking, but wasn't any trouble through the night. Was sat at table in front and saw/ heard everything. She is vile!! She needs to go!!

Food okay, not amazing by any means. Very very noisy, nice to see lots of youngsters enjoying themselves but not great to see them moving from table to table. Staff friendly but no idea of Covid responsibilities took their mask down to talk to everyone....

This is the second time I have eaten here in the past month and have enjoyed another great meal. Booked a table prior to arriving. Used the NHS track and trace on arrival and we were escorted to our table by a very friendly male...

We have had a few family meals here now, each one has been great with friendly service and a nice atmosphere. All Covid-safe protocols followed. Lovely food and a choice of sitting inside or out on the newly decorated garden area. We'll be back!

A great find! After seeing the previous good reviews we decided to try The Wicor Mill as it’s not somewhere that would be on our usual route anywhere. We were impressed by the very comprehensive measures in place for Covid, including having spare masks for...

1st time at the Wicor since new owners took over. The garden area looks lovely inside was clean and friendly staff. All covid protection in place. We all ate and yes we thought the food was cooked perfectly and tasted lovely but for the price thought the serving was quite small. All in all a good experience
