We went to St Andrews for a golf trip and we decided to go for Diner to The Saint. We made a reservation to be sure we will have a table for all of us, we were 11. They called us insisting to chose our meal up front, one of our members was note able to assist as he had unexpected personal issues and The Saint charge us for his meal with out preparing a doggie back for him. Poor service for the prices, what your wallet.

Utterly disappointed by our experience at The Saint. We booked the bunker room for the night before our wedding and the way our party were treated was appalling. We have lodged a formal complaint with head office and despite having been patrons of The Saint for many years (since it was the Westport) we will never be going again. Rude service, poor treatment - ruined the night before our wedding. Plenty of other wonderful bars in St Andrews, where I will be spending my money in the future.

Our 4th or 5th visit to this absolutely wonderful place to eat. Staff are always extremely friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. We have never been disappointed with anything we have eaten at The Saint Bar & Kitchen and have tried many of the different dishes. A massive thank you to all the staff who served us (along with the chef and kitchen staff too) on 22nd April when we were celebrating my husbands birthday. We don't live in the area but have made a ritual to celebrate this fabulous place in St Andrews. Whoever own this place, your staff are an absolute credit to you.

Lovely rooms, ideal location and great breakfast. Small things like GHD hairdryer and straighteners in room were a real bonus. Hotel bar was particularly busy on a Tuesday night as its quiz night and most tables were booked by the local student community. Fortunately there are plenty other great bars nearby, but something to bear in mind if staying on a Tuesday. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone staying in St Andrews and wouldn’t hesitate to book for our next visit.

A fabulous location in St Andrews. ..walkable from the bus station ( less than 10 minutes even for us slowcoaches) and jjust inside one of the gates of the walled city. We had a view of the gate from the bedroom and even a sideways view from the bathroom. Lovely touches were the water and the can of beer in the mini fridge and yumny Scottish biscuits

We went to the Gin and Jazz event for Mother’s Day. We have been to the saint before and we’ve always found the place friendly and good with the kids. The food is a bit pricey but good. This time was a bit more of a mixed experience. The ‘jazz’ turned out to be blues/country which is not really the same vibe and we ended seated around the corner anyway despite booking specifically for the event so couldn’t watch the band which was the plan to keep the kids entertained. The free g&ts were a lovely thing for the grown ups but we ended up being charged for the kids soft drinks which were supposed to be free based on the poster. Seemed petty to quibble the ~£6 but a bit annoying. We followed with a round of cocktails/mocktails which were delicious as always. Our go to is the ‘American sour’ and the seasonal ‘Cholula margarita’ was great as well. We ordered chips for the table which were perfectly cooked and a good size for the price. The waitress did her best to give us a good experience.

I booked a table for 11 people, and pre ordered our food choices. When we arrived, we were shown to our table by a server. I had ordered a couple of starters for the table, which were lovely. Unfortunately we then had to wait a further hour for our mains, of which several were lukewarm. I noticed that all the other diners round about us were all served before us, even though they arrived after us. It was a shame, as we had been looking forward to our family get together

Probably the best bar in St Andrews. Came for Sunday lunch, after receiving a voucher as a gift, which was excellent. Quality roast beef, nice portion size followed by a great sticky toffee pudding which was not too sweet.... Perfect, as in some establishments it's so sweet you can feel your teeth falling out as your eating their attempts. Nice to see a selection of non alcoholic beers (for the drivers) which included ipa. Most places seem to only stock lagers. Sat in longe bar area with dogs. Very attentive staff and all very friendly. Couldn't fault the place, will be our go to place after a walk on the beach

Went here last night for dinner. Arrived on time, seated immediately, good table. Our server Finlay was very attentive, drinks ordered, a female member of staff (possible manager) approached and asked were we ready to order, as we'd just sat down, we asked for time. We ordered a main course each, after some 35 minutes , we queried where our food was. Finlay apologised for the delay, and after checking ,came back and said it was just being plated, it arrived after about another 5 minutes. The food was fine, however the length of wait was pretty off. Finlay has a very distinctive voice, and whilst eating , I heard him apologise to another 3 or 4 tables with the same" really sorry about your wait for food". I didn't see or hear any of the 2 possible managers doing the apologising , for what was obviously an issue for a fair few tables . We got the bill, 2 mains, 4 wines £77. Not great value considering the poor kitchen performance. Once I'd paid i said to Finlay, in Glasgow if the service had been that poor ,I'd have expected a manger to intervene, and either offer ,dessert or remove drinks or offer a complimentary drink. He said if you'd said I'd have asked my manager, suggest that some linked up thinking is required between management, kitchen and servers. Not a great experience, and one I'm unlikely to repeat.

I ordered the soup to start which was Lentil, it came with some soft fresh bread and butter - great tasty starter. Then for the main I had mini mac and cheese and chips, I do wish I’d got the bigger portion as it was very good! But , it made room for dessert. I had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, so tasty and a lovely dessert to finish a beautiful meal. The service was also very good, all staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The Saint was a nice surprise meal overall. The atmosphere was more unique and a step up from the more traditional pubs in town. The menu was a nice mix of options that included modern fare and some traditional Scottish options. The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was good initially, but once the restaurant got busy, you could tell they were severely understaffed. That said, the staff was working hard and doing what they could. We skipped dessert and after-dinner drinks due to the delays, and we noticed other patrons walking up to get the manager's attention. Hopefully, they will get this worked out because, overall, it was a good restaurant. We will try them again when we return.

And some of the staff helpful and cheery, some others really weren't, the girl who was suppose to be at the till area, really was quite blank, walked past us twice while we stood waiting to pay.. We even said... But still blanked us.

Have visited the Saint several times before. However our visit tonight (21/6/24) was very disappointing, Had booked in advance to use a voucher my husband had been given for Father’s Day. We were shown to what I would describe as the worse table in the place. We asked if we could have a different table to be told it was the only table for two available. My husband who is 6’ 2” squeezed himself into the tiny alcove with immovable chairs. We ordered drinks and water then shortly afterwards ordered our food. First course arrived, which was a sharing plate, no side plates supplied, and still no drinks had arrived, so had to attract a servers attention (which wasn’t easy) to ask for our drinks again. While waiting we saw that two people had been to shown to one of the bunquette seats at the window that can seat six. The food when it arrived was good. My husband asked for a second pint, but before it arrived we had finished our food and decided to pay our bill and leave. Whilst we were advised by one of the servers that the restaurant was very busy and they were short staffed this is a management issue and should not impact on the customer. Very very disappointing, and think it will be a long time before we are back.

We decided to stop by for dinner and to catch the Euro game. We started with garlic bread, followed by the rump of lamb along with the steak & mushroom pie… everything was absolutely delicious! The staff were great and made sure we could enjoy the football game in the bunker downstairs. Plus, the restaurant is equipped for disabled access and is dog-friendly! Would 100% recommend this place.

Really good food - perfectly cooked chips and very tasty, unique chicken burgers. Friendly atmosphere, helpful staff. Overall, really nice place.

Just spent £160 on meals this afternoon at the Saint. Unfortunately two of the meals were sub-standard. The fish and chips seemed as though the fish had just been removed from a freezer, battered and deep fried. The batter tasted burnt and the fish looked like it had been steamed and tasted of nothing really. The ceasar salad consisted of dried chicken, a few croutons and one type of lettuce. Due to the fact we were in company no complaint was made at the time, however this establishment will not be seeing our money again.

We had a graduation meal here on 14th of June, there was a large number of us and we couldn’t fault the staff and food, they were great. Would recommend to anyone and will hopefully be back sometime in the future!

We enjoyed the moment, but the quantities were small (especially the fish) and the quality just OK. We did not stay for desserts therefore.

Ordered a cheese toastie and a nacho chase toastie. Only the cheese toastie arrived and they wrote a note saying no nacho toastie but still took my money on deliveroo. Why didn't you just give me two cheese toasties then?? Now me and my partner are sharing one toastie

Reasonable price for drinks and food. Better downloading the app for ordering, saves time when it's busy and there's a queue

Unfortunately, this coffee shop feels a bit left behind when it comes to cleanliness and service. Even when it’s not busy, everything seems slow and disorganised, with long waiting times even for a simple coffee. It could really use some attention to basic upkeep and efficiency. The only real positive is its quiet location in a corner of St Andrews – but sadly, that’s about all it has going for it.
