Me and my family visited this weekend for birthday celebrations and had a great experience. The food was lovely and well priced matched. As for the staff they were all very friendly and polite and were great at checking on our table when appropriate, especially the young waiter named Finlay. 10/10 service, would come back again.

The food was decent on the most part, overpriced but tasty enough however the service was abysmal. Staff couldnt even remember a full drink order and we had to keep asking for basic items like cutlery.

Adele and her staff could not have been more accommodating with changing food orders and numbers attending varying last minute- nothing was ever too much trouble and the food and service was excellent on both occasions

My wife, two children both under 10 and I had a lovely meal at the Saint this week. The service was prompt, patient and friendly (thanks Andrew). The food was excellent for the price-point and the surroundings pleasant to sit in. As my 6 year old said, 10 out of 10.

First time visiting. The restaurant was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and quick. The food was good however the lettuce in the Ceasar salad was very soggy. It would have tasted much better if the lettuce was crispy. Appears to be a very family friendly restaurant as we noticed there were a couple of families with young children there.

Food was really good. Perhaps a bit too much salt used when frying. Service was excellent the waiters were really friendly and attentive The big let down was being told after we had ordered that table had to be cleared for 6.30 pm. My wife and I did not stay here, but we did eat here several times while staying in St Andrews. The menu has many choices with Table service, and the staff are friendly and seem to have a lot of local Knowledge about places to visit in the area. The pub also has a large garden. They do get very busy on a Saturday evening, so its advisable to book in advance if you want to visit on a Saturday evening. I would recommend this Pub.

The Sunday toast was truly mediocre, the starters were supermarket quality, in particular the beetroot option with lukewarm goats cheese. The burger meat was very chewy and not very well cooked but worst of all was the risotto which tasted like a mixture of porridge, gruel and vegetarian haggis though without any spice- work house Dickens style - actually almost not edible- the beer was warm and it was very expensive 100 pounds for three for very mediocre food.

Called here for Sunday lunch with friends and enjoyed the slightly unusual atmosphere with nooks and crannies everywhere and several different rooms. The service was prompt and efficient and the menu offered a wide (though not extensive) range of options. The food was good although my main course was warm rather than hot. The location at the west end of South Street is central but only really accessible on foot with limited parking some way off. I liked the feel of the place, but I'm not sure that I would choose to make it a regular haunt.

Nice place with a great beer garden, however very limited tables and set up for the amount of space which was frustrating for people wanting to eat food as two people were blocking tables of 4. Food itself was good. Service was poor, staff didn't really seem to care and just wanted you to do everything yourself such as get cutlery, order using a QR code which only showed half the menu etc. This place could be 5* with abit more effort.

Have visited the Saint several times before. However our visit tonight (21/6/24) was very disappointing, Had booked in advance to use a voucher my husband had been given for Father’s Day. We were shown to what I would describe as the worse table in the place. We asked if we could have a different table to be told it was the only table for two available. My husband who is 6’ 2” squeezed himself into the tiny alcove with immovable chairs. We ordered drinks and water then shortly afterwards ordered our food. First course arrived, which was a sharing plate, no side plates supplied, and still no drinks had arrived, so had to attract a servers attention (which wasn’t easy) to ask for our drinks again. While waiting we saw that two people had been to shown to one of the bunquette seats at the window that can seat six. The food when it arrived was good. My husband asked for a second pint, but before it arrived we had finished our food and decided to pay our bill and leave. Whilst we were advised by one of the servers that the restaurant was very busy and they were short staffed this is a management issue and should not impact on the customer. Very very disappointing, and think it will be a long time before we are back.

Just spent £160 on meals this afternoon at the Saint. Unfortunately two of the meals were sub-standard. The fish and chips seemed as though the fish had just been removed from a freezer, battered and deep fried. The batter tasted burnt and the fish looked like it had been steamed and tasted of nothing really. The ceasar salad consisted of dried chicken, a few croutons and one type of lettuce. Due to the fact we were in company no complaint was made at the time, however this establishment will not be seeing our money again.

Sunday 9Jun2024 around 730pm - the kitchen somehow seemed to have "crashed" when the restaurant was overwhelmed with diners. The waiting staff borne the brunt of the complaints, and you can see they were really stressed out. Very unfortunate. The kitchen did somehow "recover" later on that night & our food arrived at about 9pm. The food was nice & we did enjoy it. 👍👍 It will be an extremely busy week for St Andrews with graduations (which the university brought forward by a week or 2), golf competitions, etc. So St. Andrews will be over-maxxed ! The duty manager & staff did coped extremely well under the circumstances. So well done gals & guys.👍👍👍👍 But the higher management should have been much better prepared....

This was quite literally the worst collective service performance I have ever witnessed. Wait staff were clueless, had no sense of urgency (despite a fairly empty restaurant) and we were treated extremely rudely. We were seated for 2 hours and had only been served one drink, not seen any of our food and the management/waitstaff had made up lies about how we had treated them to justify their rudeness. Even as we left after 2 hours (wihtout eating) we tried to pay for the drinks that we had, but they refused for some reason. I expect this establishment won’t be around for much longer….

Absolute disgrace of a restaurant! After waiting for an excruciating two hours at our table, all we received were our drinks. The service was abysmal, with staff seemingly more interested in fighting their customers. The management's lack of concern for our time and satisfaction was palpable. Where do I even begin with my recent dining experience at this disastrous restaurant. The service… Waiting for our food felt like waiting for the next ice age to arrive. I'm convinced that the concept of time doesn't exist in this restaurant. I wouldn't be surprised if they were sourcing ingredients from Mars. The staff's attitude was a masterclass in how to make customers feel like they were interrupting the staff's nap time. It was as if we were asking them to perform some Herculean task, like solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. I guess asking for a refill on my drink was equivalent to asking them to solve world peace. In conclusion, if you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience and want to experience the slowest service known to mankind, then this place is for you. Just make sure to bring a good book and a lot of patience. Trust me, you'll need both.

If you’re looking to spend 2 hours of your evening sitting around in the basement with 2 bottles of water, a mango margarita and a couple of watered down old fashioneds, split amongst 14 people, all while you wait for your meal for over 2 hours, look no further. She said" no you havnt" I couldn't believe it then I told her we most definitely have which then she decided to ignore me and started talking to my wife but first she said you can wait or just leave. Knowing we were heading to St Andrews on a Sunday I thought I'd check for somewhere doing Sunday lunch and came across the Saint as an option so booked a table for three and hoped for the best. It was my first time inside and thought it was nicely turned out, had a classy feel about it. The Sunday lunch was nice and and tasty with good sized portions, and at £25 for two courses wasn't too unreasonable (though a little overpriced I thought). It felt a little understaffed at times but they were all very nice and courteous. On paying the bill I was surprised the final total was basically £100 which meant that a pint of diet coke, a regular coke and a cappuccino (and water for the table) must have cost the best part of £25 which seems extortionate and to be honest is the only thing that would prevent me from going back. All in all a lot of positives but the cost of the drinks leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

This was a great restaurant recommended to us by our tour guide! Food was delicious and if I’m ever in the area again, I will be sure to grab a bite to eat here.

In St Andrews for a three day visit, we ended with lunch at The Saint. The service was exemplary, and the food superb ~ and hot! It was a treat to eat well-cooked food that was not served up by a chain restaurant, and that...

Visited here for a relaxing spot of lunch with a pint. However, I noticed a group of people vaping at the table opposite me. They continued as staff were mopping up under their table after a few drinks got knocked over. Yet, the staff said nothing! I then asked a young man, who brought the food to my table, if vaping was permitted in the pub. He said it wasn't, so I suggested he tell this to the table of which I was pointing to. He just looked over at them and then walked away. When I had ordered my meal, I opted for the larger size madras for just an extra £1.40. It arrived rather quickly and was quite nice but it came without the chutney which is supposed to accompany the dish. This is usually a real nice Spoons but I'm disappointed with the experience on this occasion.

What a fantastic place. Friendly staff, gorgeous cafe (loving the hanging plants!) and delicious food. A total win for our family - both gluten-free and ‘normal’. Highly recommend the GF Reuben sandwich - absolutely delicious. The all day breakfasts the others had also looked amazing and the bacon was “the best and crispiest”!

Located within minutes of the High Street, shopping and a few restaurants this spot is a great central location for the city. I only spent 1 night in Dunfermline but felt like i had good access to anything I’d need from this location. PRO’s - Staff - everyone I chatted with were super accommodating and helpful. - Parking - there are a few dedicated parking spots under the building on the backside of where you may drive past when en route to the hotel. If those are full, there’s also a large paid lot. - Restaurant- I had the steak pie with veggies for dinner, it was pretty tasty and filling. The veggies were steamed and fresh, but a little dry, so would be nice to have a sauce of some kind included with them. - Breakfast was good with a small, essential selection of hot breakfast options, as well as toast, tea and coffee. Would have enjoyed some juice, and water but didn’t ask. Most of the places I stay which offer those items have them out and readily available for guests. - Room - I’m a solo traveler on this recent visit so I booked a single room, which had just a twin bed. The area is small but pretty well laid out and felt decently spacious. Con’s/Suggestions - The bathroom mirror is mounted pretty high, so most people (especially women) of average height would not be able to use it. The room I had (26) had a lot of available space in the bathroom, would love to see a small table or something in there for holding toiletries when getting ready in the morning. And access to a mirror for makeup and such. - Would be great to have some kind of luggage stand to put my bag on instead of it having to be on the floor. - The TV was mounted above the desk and very much off to the side from the bed, which limited viewing of the TV. In general I enjoyed my stay here and could see booking this spot again.

Costa Coffee is a great little stop to make if you are looking for a warm-up or small bite to eat! Their Maple Hazel specialty coffee really hit the spot. Super friendly service! Within walking distance to St. Andrews Cathedral.

I recommend! Try the carvery - three types of baked juicy meat and a variety of boiled vegetables as a side dish))
