West Park Chinese Takeaway in Plymouth

Over 2 hours for delivery of 4 dishes. I could have walked the 2 miles there, ordered it and walked back in half the time. Poor. Update. Delivered wrong main dish, offered a free dish next time, which we refused. They did deliver the correct item 25 minutes later which made it close to 3 hours before my wife was able to eat. Shame because the food was good, however I won’t use again.

Poor service. Food took 2 hrs to arrive was missing items was told over the phone I could have missing items on next order. Food was almost cold. So there won’t be a next order. So keep my money you won’t be getting anymore of it. Wish I read the reviews before placing an order

2 hours from ordering until dinner arrived. Order was wrong. Correct order arrived after another 20 minutes. I understand it’s Saturday night…. But over 2 hours for dinner is absolutely shocking. Will not order again from here & would advise against ordering from here if you’re hungry.

Food is good ...when it arrives ! Two weeks on the trot have waited more than two hours for delivery , had to ring each time to shake up the place !! Shocking .. An edit to my last review same as above but food was nowhere near as good as previous review..sorry

The most delicious food. Delivery perfect, fresh and still very hot. I would definitely recommend.

We get Chinese from here a lot, it is the best in my opinion. Only problem is it's cash only and they don't deliver, but definitely worth the short drive to pick it up. Food is always tasty, fresh and piping hot.

Please don't bother ordering, food arrived just warm, tried charging us £4 for a bottle of coke and sent a can of coke which clearly states its part of a multipack? BBQ sauce isn't nice at all looks and tasted like bolgneise Sauce. Chips are sooo Dry and not fresh what so ever. Noodles have no flavour and don't taste or seem fresh at all. Very disappointed 😞 won't order here ever again

I have not enjoyed the last few meals and tonight they forgot to put any lemon sauce on my lemon chicken. When i then looked properly at what I did have it was just heated up chicken strips from a packet. I doubt it even saw a wok. I have been a long time customer and put up with the cash only nonsense and did not expect gourmet at their prices. It is very easy and cheap to make your own crispy chicken and actually cook it in a sauce. They have lost me now.

We use west park Chinese once a month but this is the second time the food was tasty but just warm and we had to put it in our microwave and at £22 I was not happy

Takeaway was vile,rice came out the same shape as the carton...the spicy box had reheated chicken ball and pork balls in,old and hard and no crackers.The curry sauce was a gloopy blob,and a below par duck curry,awful waste of £21 .Never use this gaffe again I promise you.

Food is lovely, but I'm not happy they or should I say young woman behind the counter is not happy to take a debit card payment inside the shop is wanting cash payment but will take one when I phone in an order for delivery 🤷🤷

Food is ok. Did miss one item off our order but rest was ok. Was more than happy to do the food ordered but no onions. Regularly get deliveries but hit and miss on timings.

Just ordered food. BBQ ribs, chicken wings and noodles. Absolutely tastless. BBQ sauce like water, pork may as well been cardboard. Noodles were I assume cooked yesterday as they were tastless as well. So bad I had to do a covid test.

Can't give an "Atmosphere" in a take away. Four stars on Service, only because they don't take Cards, only Cash.

Great tasting takeaway and value for money

We was told after placing order 45 minutes to 1hr. But 2hrs later and 3 calls to fund out where it was to be told 10 minutes. Not good. Won't be using again.

Ordered takeaway, waited over 1 hour, 30 minutes to arrive. Some of the food was warm. I asked for a menu to be enclosed with my order. Didn't get one. This is typically a classic case of "not being listened to" !

4 years ago I had a bad experience which resulted in a bad review. Gotta say, the improvement is great. Was looking for new tasty Chinese after my local was under new management. Chips tasted great with the Chinese salt (table salt just doesn't work the same way), chow mein is tasty and not as greasy as most places. The curry sauce isn't too hot and the rice was fluffy. Think I just found my new favourite Chinese eatery <3

I’ve ordered these twice now, threw first order away as so overcooked couldn’t eat them. Now received these and overcooked. There is a difference between crispy & overcooked!! Telephoned for refund…. Nope … got told get them free next order!! You’ve just lost a good customer!!

Pretty terrible Chinese, it all looked like it was prepared & cooked last week. The taste was just as bad.

Silliest wait times for food, I've been here a few times and never had a takeaway delivered in under 2 hours, I'm writing this review after having waited almost 3 hours for my food and after having called the takeaway, there was no apology or effort to maintain my custom, that's the final time I order from here, I highly advise you avoid this takeaway. Edit: Once food arrived our curry sauce tasted burnt, yes, you actually read that right, burnt. I am assuming these sorry excuse of culinary professionals over-microwaved it, thanks for stealing my money.

Very poor customer service only just decided to give them another go due to items not arriving last time and the same thing happened again today when I called to say chips where missing told I didn't order any and they could send some out for an extra £2.50 we will never give them another chance oh and food was cold and re-heatedreappeared re-hea

Food is nice but waiting over 2 hours annoyed me. Following delivery was prompt so I though ah one off I can forgive it. Then 3.15hrs plus several phone calls with no offer of discount or refund. Had to feed the kids separately as eating past 9pm is way too late. Contacted them to advise I was unhappy but got no response. Will never use again.

Waited 2 hours for our order to arrive obviously forgotten our order when we called to chase it was told it was on its way !! 25 minutes later arrived some of it was cold not enjoyable to be eating so late

Always great food. My only criticism is that they don't use thin egg noodles in their noodle dishes. Especially as a noodles and beansprouts extra item they always seem too large for my liking. This is the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5.

Waited over 2 hours 30mins .so phoned up to see were my order was to get a reply of can't tell you then put down the phone on me so I decided to pay a visit . When we get to the shop to ask were order is or to get a refund they just laughed at us and said come back later we are to Busy. We demanded are money back, she threw the money on the counter. We would not recommend this Chinese to anybody very horrible people they just want your money no customer service.

Lovely food but they say a time for delivery but make you wait hours

I was trying to get help online and your page popped up so I was wondering if you would be able to help me, yesterday (03/10/20) I ordered £32 Chinese take away from West Park Chinese, as I was the middle of waiting for my order the website suddenly said it's close and will re open 'tomorrow' (04/10/20) the place is open around 5 pm I ordered around 6pm and their website shows they close at 11 pm so I call the take away place around 3 times, no answer I tried to cancel the order. After more then 3 HOURS I find a different takeaway and ordered from them instead they arrived on time. But then the order I trying to cancel from West Park Chinese suddenly arrived and my mom's fiancé takes it (not me, I was in a different room) so I called them again and this time they answered... They said they will send a driver to pick it up (that wasn't even 10 minutes after getting the other) another 2 hours, no answer, no driver and the take away from them is still untouched, I tried to call them 5 times around this closing time and this time there was like they just ignored the phone, I took screenshots of the website and my trying to get in touch with them... I have a really bad anxiety so I'm trying to panic that I can't do anything and I just spend £50/£60 on take away. I live around 10 min or less away from them if you drive a car.

I love the food especially the curry and seaweed best Chinese takeaway ever the first time cam within 30 mins but then the other times it's been over 1 in a half hour but still really nice food was lovely and hot didn't even need to warm it up

DO NOT order from this chinese restaurant the food was horrible and salty, Spent £35 on a family take away with my partner and our two children who will eat anything (still didnt eat this) we ordered 2x house special fried rice Sweet and sour chicken balls Veg spring rolls Crispy chilli beef All of it was disgusting. When i called to say my family was unhappy and we would like a refund that they could collect the food as we only tried it and couldnt stomach anymore they flat out refused. I WILL NOT BE ORDERING FROM HERE ANYMORE AND ADVICE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME.

Good food, better than most and a hidden gem of westpark. Issues with time for delivery but cannot knock the quality of the food. Nice family run business.

Very disappointed waited a hour to then be told they had lost my order in which I had to wait even more for the order and as of the time of this order it has been 1 hour 30 minutes and I am still waiting will never be using this company

Ordered today at 6.30 and told the food would be here within the hour. 1hour 40 minutes we are still waiting for it to arrive. Have ordered via just eat before and food has always been late so phoned it through today. Definitely will not be ordering from them again.

I have used this takeaway for years but recently it has gone downhill sharply. I do not know if it has new owner. I have had bad experiences with delivery taking over an hour and a half. So for my latest order I went in to order in the shop. This was a Wednesday night so not the busiest. When we went to order we were told they don't take cards in the shop, so went to the cash machine in thew Mccolls across the road. The cash machine next to the shop had run out of money. I was unhappy so had a bright idea and ordered via their own app for collection. Collection time was set at 30mins so about the same time as waiting in the shop so not much of a problem. Waited the 30 minutes and went in to the shop to collect. The girls on the counter obviously recognised us and didn't look too happy, the owner/manager also didn't look too impressed. The food hadn't even been started, so further 25 minute wait. There were lots of people coming in to collect who had also obviously paid by card, so used the same work around I had. This sort of nonsense will put them out of business, you either take cards or don't it is not up to the managers whim. Also and the shop is dirty, if you cannot clean the front of house then what is the kitchen like. Maybe this is why they have lost their 5 star fsa rating. Will not be going back.

Myself & a few neighbours have got No complaints about the food...And all agree that the lady that takes your order via the telephone or in person is very polite & helpful...we would strongly recommend that you place your order in person or online...background noise is expected but when the child behind the counter is shouting and running around it’s impossible to hear the lady relaying your order back to you which she has to do several times through no fault of her own..

Genuinely the best Chinese I have found I live in st budeaux and had until recently always used kenny kuet but not any more I will always use this Chinese from now on just used for the second time and food as excellent as last time. I ordered nearly £19.00 of food and all amazing

If I could give these zero stars I would.what a waste of money. Turned up an hour later than when i was told,making it a waiting time of almost 2 hours. I had to call twice to find out where my food was and she didn't even offer me a refund or a reduction. The food was cold when it turned up and it tasted stale and had a burnt taste to it like the oil was stale and burnt that it was fried in.no refund no apology. I certainly won't be buying from Westpark takeaway again. Appalling food appalling service

shocking second time ordering and both times i ordered i had to ring to find out where the food was. i ordered both times off their website. i ordered a bottle of apple tango the driver 1st denied he had a bottle but was gonna charge me anyway then told me they don't sell bottles only cans then told they don't sell apple tango despite it being on there website then went to his car and produced a orange tango bottle! both times i have ordered there has been at least an hours wait plus another 30mins to an hour after that. if you can't keep up with demands which i think is bull as the food isn't anything to write home about then don't have multiple ways to order. stick to phone orders and walk in's. won't be ordering again maybe with this service and the loss of customers you will be able to keep up with the orders of the people stupid enough to still order with you.

Ordered at 5.50pm still waiting for my order to arrive at 7.50. Won't be using again

Poor service got told hour for delivery a hour and half later it turns up cold with no apology for delay asked why it took so long and was verbally abused by driver and told to go else where!!! Went up to make a complaint and was told that the driver was within his rights to abuse us because asking what took so long is apparently us abusing him. Needless to say I won't be going back there and I will be reporting to consumer direct.

Food is ok, had been getting it for a while but wont be getting it again, not after finding yet more hair in our food, 3 times now, head hair first 2 times, very short wirey hair last time :/ never complained dont see the point as if their careless enough for me to find hair and there not to fussed what else would i find if i did,being head hair to find it once ok possibly twice maybe but 3 times is to many and especially one more sinister, hygiene here cant be the best and its off putting big thumbs down from me and as i said no more custom i like cleanliness and obviously not so much here, wear hair nets, its gross and stop itching or at least wash your hands after going to the toilet !!!!!
