A warmly welcoming environment with tasty food and beverages. A good place to take a break, have a cup of tea and a sandwich.

Walking around Chester it's always good taking in the great architecture ,so much to see,so much to enjoy,so much to take in ,one such wonderful looking building I passed was The Wesley Methodist Church. Obviously a Victorian era building, the facade is superb,it's giant windows, the red brick build, the sheer beauty of this building,so photogenic ,such a grand looking building,it's easy to locate along John Street and is well worth seeking out.

This is a community cafe in a church centre and serves daytime snacks, cakes and drinks. Three of us had various lunch items including panini and were all happy with what we got and the service received. The staffing policy is totally inclusive and is a pleasure to experience.

Webt to this church cafe with a friend for breakfast, not enough food choices ( only bacon virtues) but good enough price.

A nice café. They employ people with learning disabilities but the service is good, quick and everywhere is clean and well looked after. One of the cheapest and most pleasant places in Chester. The lunchtime concerts are a very good standard as well and worth attending.

Tucked away off the walls not far from the clock tower. We called in and the cafe within the church building was nicely busy with workshops for parents / children. Bread making in progress. Volunteer staff were very pleasant and we both had the £5 lunch - toasted sandwich , scone and tea or coffee. Very simple but good food pleasantly served. Being bought up in a Methodist family it was a pleasant feel good experience. Well done to all concerned.

This is a lovely peaceful place to enjoy a hot drink with a fresh scone baked daily or a lovely piece of cake. They also do soup, sandwiches, bacon baps and toasties with various fillings available. They also do a kids meal deal for less than £3-00 and they do an adult meal deal for £5-00. The adult meal includes a sandwich, any piece of cake and a hot drink. All sandwiches etc are made fresh. Never been here then you must try it to experience it for yourself.

Chester is a beautiful and historical city, but that will not reduce the effects of the walks you will cover to see that beauty. However of all the possible stops for lunches or teas you will not find a more welcoming or peaceful haven of rest than this restaurant. Run by the church and it's members it is immaculate, friendly inexpensive and tranquill in a busy bustling city it is a pearl. When you have walked the walls, stepped onto an arena steeped in blood and history, been regalled by the wonders in the museums and strained your necks viewing the beauty of it's buildings then the haven that is the Wesley centre will refresh you mind and your palate. I cannot recommend it highly enough for the simple sandwiches and service and the welcoming smiles. Thank you.

Went here for a nice little coffee. Was served by a youngster called Dylan who dropped it all over the table. What a silly sausage. The cafe itself stunk, the surrounding houses smelled of sewage. The north of puddington smells worse than the south. It's really not worth the pain. Stay well away

We have eaten here a few times now with our little dog, staff very friendly, there are obvious signs about the parking with a tablet at the bar to enter your reg number, the pin is displayed next to this. Good range of food quickly served, twice when we came they were recovering from disastrous floods so the menu was slightly limited, the food was still good though. Lovely setting to sit out by the river and regular entertainment at weekends. Keep it up Red Lion!

Stumbled on this cafe during a weekend in Chester. Great coffee and cakes very reasonably priced. Couldn't understand why people were passing it by to go to Costa in the Tesco next door.

Lovely coffee and hot chocolate. Staff very friendly and polite. I always prefer the coffee in Starbucks to Costa coffee just a personal preference.

My visit was for a lunch with friends. The pub was their local, not one they frequented but it was convenient. It was a memorable visit for all the right reasons. I was welcomed at the bar with smiles and I explained that one of my party had allergies. The checking of the ingredients was really thorough, the food came and it was hot, fresh and delicious. I appreciated all the effort that went in to ensure we had a great time and felt safe. Totally worthy of recommendation and repeat visits.
