Exceptional afternoon tea in the walled garden. A selection of finger sandwiches, which were lovely and fresh. Soft scones, jam and clotted cream, followed by an assortment of delicious cakes. It’s not often you can say things get better, but this certainly as. Lovely friendly server as well. A real treat.

Booking was easy and staff were very friendly. Setting was beautiful. Food: Sandwiches x 4 thin finger sandwiches that had clearly been stood uncovered as the edges were slightly crispy. Scones were ok, slightly dry. Cakes and cheesecake were not the best and everything in the as we walked through the restaurant looked much better. For £18, it was ok, but won’t be rushing back.

Searched for the best garden centres in Yorkshire and stumbled across Wentworth - within an hour we had set off! Thoroughly enjoyed looking at their selection of plants, garden furniture and decor for the home before going outside and getting a snack from the cafe. Sat out on the balcony patio in the sunshine which was blissful! Then visited the walled gardens and petting zoo (both at a small cost) which were the highlights of our trip! Loved feeding the goats and sheep. Finished our trip with a late lunch at The Bothy - the on-site restaurant. DELICIOUS! I had the halloumi salad and my partner had a pizza, both were excellent - we wished we could have sampled larger meals because the fish and chips looked incredible too. Would thoroughly recommend for couples like us, families with small children, and older couples as well. A lovely day out!

After a few hours at the garden centre we went for lunch in the restaurant with my 2 daughters and father in law. It was very busy so took us a while to find a table and then took even longer to queue to order hot food. After a long wait the food arrived and it was delicious but quite expensive so I’d expect a better service with shorter wait times. With some improvements this could be even more of a gem.

Waiting times are way too long and this is all down to the coffee machine. Quickly change this by taking coffee out to the tables asap. Wouldn’t return, as it is due to long waits but the food is fabulous.

Needed some garden items and as the [mid-week] queue for lunch at the cafe was very short, we opted to have a light lunch. The Covid precautions were good - with tables well spaced a one way system in place for entry & exit.We arrived just before a rush and the time between ordering and food arrival was fine. The choices were Club Sandwich and Roasted Vegetable Panini. Both were excellent and the Club Sandwich was too large for my wife - so I had, of course, to help out. As a result, I can say both were excellent and actually good value.Only disappointment was not being able to have a glass of wine or small beer with lunch, Presumably the new Bothy is now the only licensed area.

Can't find a separate listing for the Bothy under restaurants so am reviewing it under the garden centre site.Had a late lunch here. Menu was ok but fairly limited, however still a decent varied choice. All food delivered promptly. All decent portions and tasty. One comment from the group was that the veg (broccoli stems) were under cooked. The meat pie was apparently was delicious. The tagine was tasty but needed more of the sauce as the whole dish was slightly dry.The young staff were efficient and friendly.

We always enjoy our visit to the garden centre here at Wentworth as during the current pandemic safety measures as clearly in place and adhered to making you feel safe. The selection of plants is impressive with the helpful staff on hand to give you any advice you may need.As an added bonus the restaurant serves a variety of hot and cold food ,drinks etc on a takeaway basis and today we enjoyed fish, chips, peas and homemade tartar sauce which were delicious and reasonably priced too.

We went after visiting the children’s farm, it was quite busy but did not wait too long to be seated. We ordered a children’s meal, fish ginger sandwich and a hot roast pork sandwich. The fish finger sandwich firstly the bread was dry and the fish fingers well Asda price ones where tastier. The hot roast pork sandwich was actually cold. Only 1 fork between the three of us and when I asked for a beaker for my grandson was told non was washed. £24.00 was wasted on food which would have been better at McDonalds We have always had scones and a coffee before and always very nice but never again a meal.

Quality garden centre in beautiful surroundings. They seem to cater for everything these days and the food is great and service with a smile - in the cafe at least. Downsides are it shouldn't be under the "quick bites" section on here as there's nothing quick about it. Expect long queues (guy behind us just wanted a Magners and a Coke as he'd forgotten to get them and they made him queue again after everyone getting hot meals. Took 20 mins even though he asked to nip to the front where no-one was being served drinks. Also there is absolutely zero mobile connection in there, which these days is a big thumbs down, especially when someone is trying to contact you to say they'll be a bit late or can't find you (big place!) or you want to look up a few plants etc over a cuppa before you buy. Definitely worth a visit if you're ok with these though.

What a lovely place to dine after weeks of lockdown. The restaurant is first class, offering excellent food, and service in a safe and relaxing atmosphere. We have enjoyed breakfast on several occasions & have now made The Bothy a regular venue. A number of our friends are now enjoying regular visits, too. The staff are friendly, helpful & look very smart in their uniforms. Names & telephone numbers are taken on arrival for track & trace purposes, & social distancing is adhered to. This restaurant is just what the area needed - the opportunity to enjoy a meal in a calm & relaxed area with soft music plying in the background. Just like being on holiday. We had breakfast in the recently opened restaurant named The Bothy at Wentworth. This restaurant is tastefully decorated and is waitress service at your table. The staff were all very pleasant ,polite and helpful and looked very smart in their uniform. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and we both opted for the full English. The produce served was of a very high standard and cooked to perfection. We just had one slight criticism which was the toast served was sourdough which was rather too crispy for our liking. It would be better to be given a choice between toasted bread or toasted sourdough. We did mention this to the lady who was greeting customers on entry and she said she would pass this on to the appropriate person and thanked us for our feedback.

An excellent garden centre which is RHS accredited and sells very good and guaranteed plants. Also a nice big shop selling a variety of good quality products which towards Christmas has a very good display and selection of Christmas ornaments/decorations. The associated cafe serves very good home made food and drinks NYS, full meals and afternoon teas as well as coffee and buns etc. Although not cheap it's good value. Associated with and integral to the garden centre are some links very restored old English gardens and a maze plus a children's farm and a courtyard area where dogs can be taken and a drink enjoyed under cover. A good place for children as well as adults and free and more than sufficient parking, very popular and often busy.

We visit here quite often as its not far from where we live. We decided to have lunch on the sunday, opting for quiche, big difference in price of quiche on it's own or with coleslaw chips etc. Cakes are usually good dont have a problem with them, but when it comes to the coffee, well I should say milky flavoured foamed milk. We couldn't finish it, no taste of coffee, due to being 1x shot in a medium, yuk, I work for a very popular coffee shop, and med recieves 3 shots/21g of coffee, so you can taste the coffee, to have a sgl shot doesn't give any flavour at all. Worst coffee I've tasted. Yes you say you can request extra shots, what at more expense when the cost isn't cheap there anyway. I think you need to re think your shots, lge I was told is 2 shots, dear me bad coffee management

Visited on a Saturday for afternoon tea for my friends baby shower. She’d hired a table in the log cabin at the back of the restaurant which was lovely. It’s quite rustic looking & decorated with bunting. They allowed us to bring balloons & decorate the table. The food was lovely & the staff were great, really accommodating. The only downside is the tables were too close together, so we had to keep moving on one end every time a group came in / out.

Visited here with my daughter via a coach trip , was disappointed on the size overall of the gardens although it was only £1.50 to enter, we have previously visited Trentham Gardens & were completely blown away so I fear this may have spoilt us somewhat of what our expectations on visiting gardens are. The cafe was overpriced regarding filled cobs ( the hot food queue was far too long) & was very busy, so very noisy too, we did however pick up a couple of plant bargains. If you take smaller children there is a small farm ( £2.75) entrance fee & an aquatic centre.

The garden centre with family farm obviously attracts lots of people who are captive customers for the restaurant. I can’t imagine that many people would visit purely for the food. The next part is trying to find a table once you’ve paid. Be very eagle eyed as they are few are far between and it’s a dog eat world, survival of the fittest. Unfortunately there were no free tables available outside except for 2 both of which were adorned with shed loads of uneaten food and cutlery not to mention the food on the floor so it was a case of us removing all the items from the table placing them in the garden area noting it was still there after 40 minutes whilst waiting for our food. I asked the waitress did it always take a 40 minutes wait for food she replied it’s over an hour on Sundays.

Went here for afternoon tea today as part of my birthday celebrations and all in all it was very nice. When i booked i was informed our table would be in the main restaurant which i didn't mind at all but we were taken to the garden room for our tea, all the tables were booked or already occupied but the lovely waitress informed us that one couple had cancelled so we could sit inside. There is an outdoor seeting area but I didn't fancy fitting off any morording wasps. It was a tight squeeze to get around with all the diners and waiting staff who did a fab job but once seated everyone looked comfortable. The voucher I was gifted was for a deluxe tea for two (nice prezzie!) I have to say the difference between the deluxe tea and other appeared to be the glass of proseco, which was nice and cold served with a strawberry but if you're not desperate for a glass I wouldn't choose the deluxe option. There wasn't a table cloth on the glass topped tables so the clicking and clanking in the small (posh) shed was noticeable. Tea was served in nice individual pots but coffee was also available if you choose. The waiting staff were attentive and lovely. The finger sandwiches we had were salmon, cheese and pickle, ham and mustard, chicken tika (our fav) smoked salmon and dill and egg mayonnaise all very lovely. Then mini scones with jam and cream... yummy.. mini strawberry cheesecake and a chocolate mouse cheesecake served in wee glasses... very nice. I was full by this point so I opted to take my further two deserts home in a box however my companion enjoyed a slice of vanilla cheesecake and Viennese swirl. We were very satisfied with the drinks and oogles of lovely sweet deserts.

Was brought a cheese toastie instead which also must have been sat around for hours as it was so soggy it just fell apart when picked up. Absolutely inedible. Returned and got a refund. Staff kindly brought me a replacement toastie on the house...but it was even worse than the last one! Imagine holding a slice of bread under the tap and the result was similar. Staff were lovely but two returned inedible meals and still couldn't be bothered to make something fresh and nice. Really disappointed. Good cake though!!

Always packed out with people even coach trips here Be sure to go into the old gardens with the old bear pit which was ionce part of the Wentworth Woodhouse estate. Huge gift shop, farm for the kids, small shops and play areas.

Best garden centre I have ever visited. Excellent range of healthy plants and trees, very tempting shop and wonderful gardens that were well worth the £1 entry charge (oap)

We At outside, very pleasant. Service was good and food reasonably priced. We all had fish finger butties(in a bun) with chips and very nice they were too. Although the place was very busy there was still plenty of room and you did not feel squashed in.

Visited the cafe here a few times and each time I am impressed by the beautifully presented food. Cakes and scones topped with huge amounts of jam and cream are almost daunting - but yummy! Breakfast is fullsome; local producers are used and the food has real taste.

We booked Afternoon Tea for my parents Golden Wedding. It was no hassle to organise it and my gluten free request was not a problem. I also asked for some plain sandwiches to be made and again this was not an issue.

Wonderful scone in very nice setting. The flat White was also very good as was my wife's pot of tea. The restaurant is spacious and light, looking out onto the garden centre.

Visited today with my nanan for lunch as we have done many times before, unfortunately today the food was a let down! The quiche (which is usually lovely) was soggy & the bakewell tart was dry, had to ask for a cold coke as the ones on the ‘cold counter’ near the till were all luke warm. The service was good as always but won’t be rushing back.

We were staying with my parents locally and rather than put anyone out for a cooked breakfast, we nipped round to the Wentworth Garden Centre.

Visited Wentworth Garden Centre for a family member's birthday. We sat outside in the sun and the view was lovely. The food was well valued, and the soup was delicious. Has a slightly feel of a school canteen, but the food is good. Though you might have to wait a little during busy periods, especially around the dessert section for the staff.

For afternoon tea, lunch or coffee and a cake the choices and quality are just outstanding. Don't go here if you find it hard to make a decision when faced with an array of delicious cakes because you'll struggle to make your mind up. I certainly do.

Third time I have eaten here and it will be the last on each occasion something has gone wrong. The staff are very disorganised and had to queue for over 30 minutes before i could give my food order just to be told they did not have what i wanted. Changed order and that was still messed up.

We visited with two young children. Plenty for them to do in the farm and play areas. We also visited the pet shop and main shop for plants while we were there.

We always go here for breakfast on farmers' market day. The food is good, the staff helpful and the surroundings pleasant. Howeve, I do feel that a better ordering system is needed. The queue can be almost out of the door, but mainly because one person is taking hand-written orders, then taking them into the kitchen. Other people have commented about this lack of efficiency, so I'm guessing the restaurant management isn't reading the reviews....

We visited Wentworth Woodhouse Christmas event. Afterwards I decided to take the family for nice Sunday dinner at the Wentworth garden centre. The beer glass was dirty, even though it was the second one asked for. The tables were dirty and when the dinner finally arrived the beef was tough and the Yorkshire pudding burnt. Won’t be going again.

Visited for a festive afternoon tea and was impressed with the lovely dining area. Similar to a log cabin and positioned behind the cafeteria. Very cosy atmosphere and good quality afternoon tea.

We went for lunch and it was stupidly busy but we both had the roast turkey sandwich which came with all the trimmings and was utterly delicious. Black Forest gateau was beautiful too

We called in for afternoon tea - the café was really busy and the queue for hot food was huge but seemed to move quite quickly. The choice of cakes was really good - we had chocolate orange torte, which was delicious, as was the coffee. It was a shame it was so busy as it was quite loud in there, but we would definitely go back.

cafe was very busy and staff rushed off their feet. staff very friendly, with one exception who was being sassy when i was asking about the one and only vegetarian main meal. she went to ask the chef who then told her that the vegetarian meal was in fact, not vegetarian, despite it being listed as so on the menu (pesto containing rennet). she had no apologies or alternative suggestions.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here. Alison our waitress was lovely, Jess (another waitress (Miss Mushroom) is always lovely and remembers us. These ladies are a valuable asset to this business. I hope they are acknowledged for it.

I visited as part of a group of 12 or our work Christmas dinner. The member of staff waiting on us was amazing! Super friendly, very efficient at clearing our tables and always came to us with a smile - sorry I didn't catch her name otherwise I would mention it here. The menu is very good with the full range from those looking for something a little lighter, right up to those looking to take in a days worth of calories in one sitting! The process of ordering was easy, and the food was priced very reasonably too. The food began arriving to our tables promptly, and nobody within my party had anything negative to say about the quality of food, it was enjoyed by all! I had the Korean BBQ Chicken Burger and it was really nice, especially the chip seasoning used! Great atmosphere, well decorated, we were all looked after - nothing to fault at all!
