My son took us for lunch today at the Wells green the service was great the food was fantastic my husband loved the pea and ham soup best bowl of soup he has had .all the food was excellent could not fault it the place was spotless.thank you

Don't be fooled they don't do food or maybe when they can be bothered at lunch time they do sell alcohol tho must have regular locals.

Always friendly, lovely atmosphere, efficient and very tasty meals, one of my favourite restaurants, been quite a few times, my go to with both family and friends

Average at best .was OK but nothing to rush back for . Pretty bland tasting burger ..choc fudge cake warmed in microwave to the point was chewy to eat and no fudge left just a giant pool of liquid.

Lunch, good choices, special board too. Service first class from young waitresses. Shock at bill, well pleased cheaper than I expected bottle of Prosecco for the ladies as well. A bit noisy with loud children though, struggled to hear friends sometimes they were so loud

Went for lunch today was really looking forward to it. Ordered the smoked salmon gratin with chips and veg. The salmon was really dry and overcooked, it was meant to be served with a sauce which there was very little of. Really disappointed won’t hurry back for lunch

We have gone for breakfast twice in recent weeks. All excellent fresh local ingredients at a very low price. The view from the restaurant is stunning. The first visit we saw a large bird of prey swooping down. The staff are lovely, taking care to wipe tables and chairs between customers. A great place for breakfast, so will have to try lunch next.

We met up with some friends for breakfast (one of whom was going to hit a few balls afterwards). We found a table, it was quite busy so if its a big party you are with it might be better to book ahead. We ordered our food and drink which came out soon after. As usual all the breakfasts that were served tasted great and the tea and coffee which came with it were topped up as much as you wanted. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented the toilets clean and well looked after.

Turned up as my son wanted to take me out for my birthday day at table being ignored for about 15mins finally someone came over and said the place was fully booked. There where over half the tables sitting empty. We think it's cause we didn't arrive all dressed up I mean it's only a little place next to a golf course their loss I have over 100 staff plus a large extended family and I have made a point of telling them all not to go near the place.

Had a linch here which was really nice soup and sandwich was good reasonably priced good service nice surroundings

A group of us Turned up here without booking on the off chance we would get a table. We did, the server came over and took our orders. The drinks came out which were free with unlimited top ups if ordered with the breakfast. The food then came out and even though we altered, added and swapped some of the items all the dishes were correctly served up. All the food was really nice, one small niggle we found the pots of tea a bit warm, could of been hotter. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. A nice breakfast in a nice setting, especially if you like golf as you can see the range through the windows and shop at the fully stocked golf shop. Word of warning though, the Standing Stane road is a really busy road so take care to indicate well in advance before turning into Wellsgreen.

Absolutely amazing lunch today. Great service, really pleasant and caring staff. The menu is extensive and there are daily specials. The food is freshly cooked, which means waiting. The surroundings and decor are top notch, the owners have taken a lot of effort and spent money to good effect. The toilets are lovely! Always a good measure. In addition to great food the restaurant also has excellent coffee. Good idea to book ahead, on a Tuesday at 12.45pm there were no tables left! Open for dinner too until 10.00pm. Really worth a try.

Staff are friendly, nice seating and ambience for a morning coffee. Unfortunately, the choice of cakes are very limited. My friend and I enjoy a meet up somewhere between Kirkcaldy and Leven. This fits the bill. Nice coffee but on the last two occasions we felt let down. On the first occasion only three cakes were on show. We asked if there any more so the girl behind the counter shouted out the names of cakes from under the counter then proceeded to open the wrapping of two cakes we thought sounded ok. They were very dry. My friend and I decided on a second visit hoping for something better. Unfortunately, only one cake sat under a glass dome. We asked if there were more. Again, we were given the names of cakes positioned under the counter. We asked if we could see them through the wrapping. We chose two. Again, unappetising. Wellsgreen's interior is lovely but unless more thought is put into cake choice and the displaying of them we won't be back.

Booked for a family birthday meal after googling restaurant in the area. Really pleased with our choice, never been before. Booking and arrangements by email. Very helpful and accommodating. But even better was the staff and the food. The staff were very friendly and professional; the food was excellent. Can't speak highly enough of our experience at the Standing Stane Restaurant and can without reservation recommend it. Many thanks for a great birthday celebration.

Had a quiet Sunday lunch with parents and wife. First time visiting through a recommendation. We had a long wait between ordering and receiving our food, even though it wasn’t really busy. Parents had the fish and chips - was ok, not big portion though. Wife had the macaroni, very basic and she didn’t really enjoy it. I had the Sunday roast beef. The vegetables were over cooked and bland. Almost raw Yorkshire pudding, meat was also tasteless. Overall, was ok for the money but I wouldn’t rush back or recommend.

Have been here numerous times and the food is always delicious. Today had their smoked haddock pancake with mash and veg, followed by the ice cream and chocolate sauce.

First visit here, popped in on Route home from Ayr. Very friendly waitresses. We all had mains and desserts and one kiddies meal deal. Two Smoked Haddock pancakes, Thai Curry, and Fish & chips. All were delicious, and 4 x Vanilla Cheesecake. Will be back.
