Ordered LARGE CHICKEN KEBAB PORTION and LARGE DONER MEAT PORTION...which normally come in a large tray with pitta separate...instead got two small ready made kebabs..and the chicken is chewy like rubber like it is not fresh and maybe yestedays..expaind the lack of meat for the money I spent, conpared to what I have got every other time!..WILL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN! Lost a frequent customer!

I will never order from there again , and the food quality is terrible and they was some missing item aswell I wouldn't recommend welford road chippy to anybody

I don't know if this place is under new management or what but the food has gone downhill faster than a motorcyclist on speed. After not eating for several hours, I decided to order a mini cod and chips. Ordered it before as it was in my history and I ordered despite seeing a less than 4* review. I found a LONG piece of hair in my food. I didn't immediately see it, as it was hiding within the chips, some of which I'd already eaten 🙃 I'm still awaiting my refund. Definitely avoiding this place going forward, no matter how hungry I am.

Excellent service and great food. Best Fish. Chicken Donor was good as well. Kids love the chips. Highly recommended. Junaid was very helpful and great owner.

Really gone down hill. This place use to be ok about 4-5 years ago but now, not sure if new owners or what but the food is terrible. Staff has no understanding of hospitality and food portions and taste have none existent. Better of just shutting this place down in my opinion

I am very unhappy with the service, we've made an order and called to make sure we'd get it delivered. We waited ages, called again and they said the food was delivered to someone else. When we said the food was not delivered to us we were ignored and they turn the phone call off. Very disappointed and very disrespectful towards clients. Do not order from here cause you might wait ages and still not get your food and a very rude behaviour.

Was refused to making an order as they were supposedly 'closed' and then another customer was served 10mins later. Unprofessional staff, i own a chain of restaurants myself and never have come across a diabolical service, extremely disappointed.

I've ordered LARGE Tikka Kebab via Uber Eats. I received something looks like portion for kids. Sacrificed myself to go there with complaint and in their opinion it is a LARGE. It's joke having such a little kebab for £8.

The food gave me food poisoning and they had the worst customer service ever.

Food was poor, chips were old, bearly warm and shrivelled... Had a kebab before, not the best value for money...

Went in for small chips £2-20 gave him a £5 got no change for a £5 on a Friday at 5-30 in evening? Left with out ordering pathetic

We were sitting down waiting for our food and we were told our food was ready which was strange because we had only been waiting for 3/4 mins and they said it would take 10. They gave us the wrong food and thankfully we realised before we left the store. After that what we ordered (chips and sausage x2) was wrong. We got chips and 2 sausages. He didn’t even ask us if we wanted any sauce; they just wrapped it up as it was and if my partner didn’t say anything we would’ve had chips with not even salt on them. When I asked him to unwrap it and put salt he said something in his language and I don’t need to be bilingual to know he was insulting us under his breath. Terrible experience and that was my first and last time In that shop. The chips and sausage were good but their ketchup is rancid. 2/10 overall experience

Food was decent, staff not so much. When I was ordering it felt like I was borthering them and my patient was really wearing thin.Got my order wrong and after I corrected them they still wrapped up my chips with no salt or vinegar on them - basic customer service was non existent. Will not be returning there ever again.

OK taste on food and an alright price so 3 for that but can't give any higher as gave me quite a dodgy stomach and this was the only place I ate from. I would potentially get again if I wanted chippy but a little hesitant.

We just had fish and chips but test is not as usual so try to just complian so they can improve but answer is so weird don't want to listen but I know the owner that's why I call but unfortunately didn't speak to him and staff give very roud answer. Thanks

I've really been let down by this place recently. Not the same as it used to be. The chicken donner was literally just chicken with red colouring. Tasteless and nothing like chicken donner at all. The only thing welford chippy is good for is their chips..

I have tried to give this place a chance multiple times but it makes me ill every single time. And this is the only food place that I instantly react to. It is unfortunate as the staff are really nice but the quality of the food is extremely poor.

Appalling, delivery took over a hour. Food was ice cold threw it in the bin. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Never in my life would I eat from here again who even orders food for it to be ice cold.. yeah so you’ll see the other reviews but I eat out a lot and never had issues with kebab but here NASTY. If you want a donnor eat it and order it from Billy’s Kebab not here. NEVER AGAIN.

LIARS!! i wanted some cheesy chips after my night out and i made sure i left the club at 12:30 as it says online they open till 1!! i got there at 12:40 and they shook there head at me. so rude and not good enough, happend twive now. Adjust ur times if ur going to lie

Welford chippy is my go to takeaway when I am working at the hospital. They have the best grilled paneer with two bread options naan and pita. The paneer is always fresh. The staff are very nice always polite. I can’t say much about the other food as I have not tried it myself. But my friends have tried the chicken and fish and were happy with it.

Value for money and gave a very decent portion ( portions are bigger in person than when ordering on uber ) Sausage was a bit soggy and under-done and curry sauce was very watered down compared to when I have ordered on uber from uppingham ( other branch ) Otherwise was decent for the price

Ordered doner kebab and chips from this place a couple of times and it has been great all-rounder. It is a shame that the staff members are rude and I understand that selling food is busy, hot and difficult but they should definitely change their attitude and be more friendly.

First time ordering from this place and 100% last..live 15 mins away and waited over 1hr after receiving the text that my food was on its way. gave them a call and was told to "wait 5 minutes init" so I cancelled..poor attitude from the bloke on the phone

Will take your order & money but fail to deliver. Then say you've been contacted when you haven't and also not answer the phone when you contact them. Ordered through Deliveroo but they won't do anything because they use their own delivery drivers.

Only have gotten the chips, cheese and curry sauce and it’s quite good. Large medium portion, hot and lots of cheese and curry sauce. They’ve said their curry sauce is vegetarian which is why I like coming here.

Ordered through just eat. Food was over 1hr late, rang 6 times and only on the 5th and 6th time they answered and the food was absolutely stone cold. Never again!!!!!

All food order's is very salty and i asked for plain chicken and the chicken cames all red seasoning. The fish and chips is all soggy and tasteless. Called the restaurant to say whats happening and they answered me " and what do you want me to do now?" Wow chocked. I asked for my refund and they could collection their food and they say to call just eat they couldn't refund me. Absolutely disgusting costumer care and tasteless soggy food. Very disappointed.

Rude customer service. Spent almost 20 quid and asked for cold drinks to be placed in a separate bag so my food doesn’t get all soggy and cold but instead the owner looked blunt at me and took the drinks out and staked them on top of each other and said no here take it. Wow!!!! The previous day the workers their are kind and put the drinks separately for me but this time the owner had issues. Could of just asked for extra 15p or something but no!

Rude abrupt people disgusting customer service. Get off your high horse and learn to speak to people and handle issues this isnt your home where you can speak to people abusivly. Both restuarant call handler and driver rude.

I should have checked the google reviews before ordering. I ordered through uber eats but did not see the location of the driver or driver contact details which is a sign that the driver is part of the restaurant's own staff. The food arrived over an hour after the estimated time of delivery and during this time I was contacting the restaurant owner. He was rude and getting angry at me. Completely unprofessional as I have no way to contact the driver or receive any updates. When the food finally arrived the driver was also frustrated stating that he could not find the address but he had not even attempted to call me for this issue. I dont bother leaving reviews but the owner's completely rude and unhelpful manner should not be allowed to run a service. EDIT: How dare you lie to me and say that I need to request a refund from your driver and then ask that driver to come back to me to get his money back? This driver is your own staff member so uber has no responsibility in giving me a refund. As he is your staff member, it is your staff that is responsible for the refund. Please no one go to this place, I have not been treated so disgustingly before.

Absolutely vile! Ordered chicken kebab and the chicken was riddled with bits of bone and gristle.

Open again for service, best kebab's you can eat. Get loads of great tasting food for a reasonable price.

The food is good. BUT The owner who I can only assume it has changed hands is an absolute nightmare and douch. The orders have arrived always half empty or sometimes wrong. Which isn't the drivers fault. After informing the owner his response is so mean trying to blame the customer ? How do you get Uber Eats wrong. Personally I would recommend you save your 30-40 quid for your family and eat somewhere else.

Best Chippy in Leicester All Fresh Food

The front staff guy was very rude, he thought he was being funny, I asked him for a little taste of the doner and he went on jokingly saying we don’t give free food, it’s called customer service not free you muppet, the red/chicken doner was dry and tasteless, the fish cake was also bland and he served me it without asking me for any sauce, the chips have been sitting there for a long time and he must’ve retried them as they didn’t taste fresh at all, the sausage in batter was absolutely disgusting bland and had no taste to it, it looked like it had been sat there for a long time possibly hours, the only good tasting thing in this shop was the water, it was so disgusting that I was forcing my self to eat it while my friend which was about to vomit barely had any of the food, very bad customer service, definitely not coming near this shop ever again.

Found the guy who prepares the foods smelly beard hair in my food! The food was cold so it's not freshly made, they leave it out sitting for quiet some time and they microwave heat the nan bread. Did I mention all staff very rude. Waste of £6 as I just threw it on the bin! Never again, you would have to be desperate to order from here! Not happy!

I don’t recommend this to anyone , we waited an hour for our food to arrive and if I wanted something that cold I would have ordered ice cream . When I called to complain they hang up on me . If I could I would give this 0 stars I gladly would .

Actually enjoyed the food and would have have given 5 stars, however we had a delivery scheduled and this was late and despite saying on its way, when I called they stated not leaving for another 5 mins, had to cancel as son had an appointment then advised to go via Just eat for refund who advise that they had delivered - Simply not true. Have some decency!!
