Pepe's in Leicester

Bought chicken loaded fries today and got food poisoning so be careful vomitted several times in college and had my dad pick me..teacher had to call parents as been sick 🤢

I want to give a 0 - i am the only breadwinner in my family of four. Every month/fortnight I order a Pepes usually two half chicken meals. Everytime it is cooked well. This time on my deliveroo order #2851 bought today evening 1.04.25 the food was dry and burnt. My kids didn't eat it and I tried to eat it but was really dry and hard. Totally unacceptable. Just because the marinade is strong I ordered extra hot - doesn't meant the cook can cover up the bad dry chicken just with flavour. Because of this experience I will never visit any Pepes store again unless Pepes make this right for me and don't do this again not just to me but anyone else. I think a manager/supervisor should make sure chickens going out must be checked it's for the businesses own good.

Pepe's is unfortunately one of those places over hyped on social media. It was my first time trying this place and the food was substandard. The chicken in both the rice box and as a side was dry and hard. The chips overcooked and the chicken burger was just weird. I can imagine the only people who eat here do it for the sake of looking cool and not because they actually enjoy it.

I can say confidently that this is The worst pepe’s branch I’ve ever been to. The garlic mayo tastes so different and worse than any other pepe’s. Food is almost burnt everytime and the spices don’t taste the same as the other pepe’s. I don’t know if it’s the chef that needs changing or the whole branch. Because it’s really a shame that a good franchise like pepe’s has branches like this to ruin its reputation. The market street pepe’s tastes so much better and like the other branches in other cities I’ve been to.

I have no idea why this place is so different from rest of pepes, especially their neighbouring branch 41 market st one. It feels like its coming from a totally different franchise altogether. Very poor quality of food and you dont even have to be a food critic to agree with that I'm saying. Pepes officials really need to rethink their franchise agreement with this outlet.

The paneer and rice from this place is very well cooked. Shahzad and his team do an excellent job to ensure the food is cooked to great quality

Overall, it was a good meal I had a wrap and a rice box with plenty of garlic mayo. Food was good although the wrap was 70% lettuce and 30% chicken but good none the less. Second time visiting this spot and both times it has not let me down although the first wait time was very long but this visit was around average hence the 4 star. Staff know what they are doing but don’t really like interacting with you. Would come again👍 Only hard thing to find is parking, just park in the bus lane or if you haven’t got the minerals for that there is plenty of back streets.

A very nice and not too busy spot with friendly humorous worker. Ordered the famous rice box and It did not disappoint. The food was very flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The workers were very pleasant and welcoming. Will definitely come again

Today on news eve at 16.03 I spoke to the rudest man in my life. He would not listen to a word I had to say and would not give his name. People like this should not work in hospitality. We will never buy from Pepes london road branch again.

These lot burnt my food twice. NEVER go to this branch ever. Go to Market street pepes it’s wayyy better quality and flavour. Food makes you feel sick aswell and tastes bad, ruins experience and I want a refund. 0/10 DONT RECOMMEND WARNING!

I came into this shop and ordered my food. The guy who served was alot older than the other guys and was very rude and miserable. If that's what you call customer service then I feel sorry for this company. I asked him I want to pay by card and he refused and said only cash because we dont take card payment. I paid him with cash and when the next customer came she paid by card with another member of staff who served her. When I confronted him that why he demanded cash from me and let the other customer pay by card, his answer was "because I want cash in a rude way !" What the hell is this, trying to dodge the tax man? He even had the nerve to lie and say we don't have a card machine when clearly they do. This guy clearly knows who he is because all the other staff were afraid of him and didn't really talk to him. Such a horrible experience for my kids to see this argument in the shop as well as other customers. Absolute rubbish customer service and food average.

Ordered the rice box meal of Uber eats it was disgusting… burned chicken and overcooked rice, stale chips and the garlic mayo sauce that i usually love looked grey and tasted watery. Never again 🤢

I ordered 4 chicken tascas. In all of them, the chicken was not grilled. They just took it out the steamers and put it into the bread, and it lacked taste and flavour. I would recommend checking how they've prepared your order and I will not be ordering again.

I didn't even receive my order I received someone else's order.when I explained to the driver he said it wasn't his fault and to call the take away where I didn't get much joy or support. will not be using again even after being a regular customer very disappointed

I’m a huge fan of pepes but the food at this specific branch is probably the worst food I’ve had out in a long time compared to the high Wycombe and Luton branches I’ve been to. The chicken was under cooked and even the mayo sauce just seems watered down poured two of them on the rice and it had no effect. I ordered again because I thought it was just a bad day but the second time was just as worse.

I enjoyed the tasty, tender extra-hot chicken breast pieces with rice, it was finger licking good. The staff were friendly and professional. 05/09/2022. The food is still tasting fantastic They changed the menu after the refurbishments.There is a wider variation on offer 18/10/24🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I have a lot of Pepes but this was by far the worst I have ever had everything was burned to a crisp and all of it tasted like charcoal even the chilli nuggets that were so burned they had no filling. This really was bad

The delivery time went from 9:25 to 9:50 , food arrived lukewarm and the chicken in all the meals was very dry and there was no sauce on it ( lemon and herb ) , also the salsa on the loaded fries was missing so the food was very dry. Usually , Pepe’s is very nice but London Road Pepe’s is a waste of money.

Big fan of pepes, however I ordered of Just Eats and my chicken came burnt… I understand few charred lines but this is over the edge.

I’ve called up wanting to place an order and I’ve been told I can’t pay with card, only cash when I know for a fact that they take card payments. This has happened time and time again. Tax evasion…

I ordered a hole chicken! Half off it was still pink and NOT COOKED!!! I rang up to make them awar off the pink chicken!!! And all done was talk over me.. and told me to take it up with Deliveroo😂 so i told him Deliveroo don’t cook the food 🤦‍♀️ I ended up putting the phone down! 😡😡

Walked in and was immediately tested with my patience. Fortunately for them I was not phased by this so continued to wait until I finally placed my order. Upon seeing several reviews on social media, I opened my rice box with high expectations and I was shocked to see a watered down sauce which could have been easily confused for a puddle. Again, I still kept my hopes up as I believe taste is better than appearance. Unfortunately, my hopes were shattered as the mild flavoured rice box tasted like a no flavoured rice box. Not only did the rice have no flavour, it was also very soggy and the chicken was extremely soft and chewy like it had no been grilled rather boiled. On the bright side the Peri chips were very nice but not pleasing to wash down with a watered down drink that lacked fizziness.

I went to Leicester for a music concert and stumbled upon this restaurant. I must say, the chicken was expertly cooked, incredibly tasty, and very fresh. The staff were exceptionally friendly and had a great sense of humor.

Ordered the food at 18:44 and the app said food would arrive at 19:10-19:30 food didn’t come until 20:30, we rang the restaurant at 19:45 and they said the food has already been made and they were waiting for a driver to deliver. the food arrived cold and items were missing, was very disappointed with the order . This is unacceptable and would recommend ordering elsewhere.

One of most disgusting food service made by works there , I order whole chicken extreme Hot, they actually coat the chicken with the sauce at last , instead of that some one among them kept whole 150ml of extreme hot sauce in my whole chicken bag , and the lady who was in bill counter knows exactly what happened with the order , and blindly laughing cunning fox, if the restaurant was open at 1am I would rip them off who made my order..! Never go this place …! Dirty people

Pepe’s is my favourite however, this was worst pepe’s I ever had. I got the rice box it smelled horrible the chicken were not edible. The chips were ok and the garlic mayo was so runny had no teste.

So so bad compared to the other pepes in Leicester. Chicken under seasoned and over cooked, rice disgustingly soggy, chips taste reheated. The other one is really good but definitely avoid this one.

Hi everyone I went to this store, when ever I go there always something wrong and I only go as am a pepes lover for years and travel for work so go to branches all over. However this branch does not meet pepes standards. There's always something missing or they don't listen to the instructions and rush the food and give it you. The previous time I ordered with this branch the chicken was not cooked to proper standard and I asked for the sauces to be mixed and the same as always have and when I rang the store to say there was no sign or taste of lemon and herb on the chicken the manger or shift runner at the time a mature gentlemen with a beard told.me I was not telling the truth and saying he was right and so was his staff even tho I paid for cooked food with extra hot and lemon herb sauce but even charged me for a large peri peri chips and gave me a small with no peri salt on it and didn't even give me a dip. I had food poisoning for a week and had to go to ane too. When made a complain pepes head office never got back to me and the staff at the store just kept having arguments with me when it's not even my fault. These guys charged me 18 pounds something pence for the food I atleast deserve a meal of my choice to aa good standard as am not asking for a handout here. So disappointing and when I rang and asked asked staff what they can do after ten mins of taken the food to my hotel they said nothing get lost!! Is this the correct manner to talk to a customer? Will see my posts on all social platforms to. Avoid going to this place at all costs to keep.your self's safe from poor food and scammers. I have a learning difficulty so mind my grammar. Have a nice Sunday everyone .

Food was nice as usual. But not as good as the market street branch

Got the chips order wrong. We ordered 2 peri peri large chips and one normal chips. Instead we got all peri peri.

I am not happy with my order and I would like to request a full refund as not only did my order come 1 hour late, it also came damaged with the sauce spilt everywhere and the food was very cold, i am not happy, I can also send pics to show the save had leaked everywhere, waste of money!!!

The food quality was not good at all today. The salad was very watery, the chips seemed to be refried and were very cold, the rice was also cold. The nuggets were burnt. The chicken was burnt as well. Also, didn’t get our drinks. Not happy with today’s food at all, will not be ordering again.

The chicken fajita wrap was tasteless and quite disgusting. I couldn’t taste any of the advertised ingredients. It just tasted of hot lettuce and cheese. The chips were over cooked. The chilli sauce was like water. Won’t be ordering again.

I always ask for the chicken to be good well done and to have a nice char on, also extra saucy. Clearly these guys can’t read or understand simple instructions. Avoid pepes London road, but order from pepes market street.

My onion rings were missing and my drink was put in the same bag as my food, so my drink arrived warm.
