We have been coming to the Welcome site for 30+ and have never tried welcome bite and I can tell you now we wont use it again..2 Pizzas one double peperoni { double 8 small slices of peperoni} cheese was so greasy it couldn't be eaten , 2 chicken burgers and a child's fish finger meal + one portion of chips came to just over £45 . it took ages to prepare so was cold by the time be got back to the caravan. the staff never spoke, first and last time we will use this.

The food we ordered took a very long time to get to us, and as a chef, for more than 40 years the quality was not very good and just before it came to us we were told that some of our order was not available after we had waited 25 mins and also some of our order did not turn up so we had to wait even longer to wait to eat as a family, we will not be ordering from them again we feel they were very poor.

Ordered Welcome burger, cheese burger, Kids nugget meal and sausage egg & chips. £25 plus. Seriously not good at all. If it was decent quality I could forgive it but it was poor. Ordered on first night but never again. The food was on a par with our accommodation.

Food very expensive and not that great nearly £5 for basically 6 chicken nuggets with a posh name. I had 3 coffee's cost over £7 and only half way up cup told bloke that served me he didn't seem to want to know. Seems only interested in the money no customer service these are letting the welcome down. Best to eat before you go club.

If you have dietry needs do not eat here. I ordered a gluten free pizza and a couple of hours later I was violently sick, this is my reaction to gluten. This pizza was obviously off or contaminated. I tried to speak to the manager but he was very aggressive and confrontational. So, be careful when you eat at the welcome bite, they dont seem to care about your dietry needs or reactions.

We tried the pizza, garlic bread, hot dog and chips while we were there. Couldn’t fault the food or staff. Also great selection of treats for the kids our 2 were constantly getting something. You could eat in or take away. Loads of people were having food in the club but we always had takeaway. There was plenty of choice and we couldn’t fault it .

Had a pizza here, absolutely delicious. The hot dogs were brilliant and so was there kebab. Didn’t like the burgers though, they were very flimsy and tasted like a cheap £1 rustlers burger. For £5.95 the burgers definitely aren’t worth it! But everything else we had was lush!

The welcome bite leaves a lot to be desired if there’s a problem with your food. My daughter husband and granddaughter waited over 1hr for their breakfasts even tho it was put on the same table number, myself and two others had finished our breakfasts before someone came to the table to clear dishes and we asked about said breakfasts, even then they waited about 15 mins when they came out one of the breakfasts had no bacon on it, my son in law went to complain and asked for his money back to which he was told that they had to return the food, how ridiculous that is and a waste unless he was going to resell it. The food itself is lovely although a bit pricey and they could with doing a few offers, I would eat here again

The welcome bite is part of Welcome park bar area, the food portions are large and tasty, the chips are fine, not the best in town. Years ago I would give the meals top marks but not this year. We found the food bland, undercook. The pizza was still cold, salad on the burger was one dry piece of lettuce. The Welcome Bite has been a brand name synonymous with the Welcome park for decades. Back in the 80's when it started, it used to serve great food at great prices. Unfortunately, it is now all ready-meal yuck and microwaved packet food at hefty prices. The kids slush puppies and assorted junk food makes me shudder...there are few healthy options available for sale. The chips are, to be fair, the worst I have tasted in a long time...not sure if there were chips...vile, disgusting slops. The pizza is a dried out frizby. It is such a waste of potential. The Welcome park is amazing, and the staff are generally very good on all fronts. With all those potentially hungry people in the clubhouse every night, the management should do better.

But you get what you pay for (quite literally). Burger was nice but the salad garnish comprised of 2 sorry looking lettuce leaves, a cheese slice was 50p and you have to buy sauce at 5p a sachet. Doesn't come with chips so you have to pay for that separately too. The pizzas are soggy and bland so I'd avoid! However the lasagna and kids meals were good.

We had beef chilli and lasagna and both dishes were nice (loads of cheese and loads of rice, but that meant portion size was definitely generous enough). However, I do have to eat healthy foods (diabetic and pregnant) and I am trying very hard for my young daughter to eat her veggies and salads, so for this reason, I have to mark Welcome Bite down. I know that most customers would not order Tuna salad, but at least canned or frozen veg could be put on the menu. Even frozen potato mash or butternut squash mash would do! :)

We stayed here for two nights on the “2 nights for 1” deal and would gladly do so again if offered. The reviewer who said the place was a bit sad must be able to afford more luxurious places than us as we found it well maintained and the reviewer who said it could be cleaner is obviously living on a different planet! Apart from the receptionist who had only been there 2 weeks, the staff were welcoming and efficient. It was only the chef on duty in the kitchen on the first night that needs talking to: the starter took long enough to come, but the main course took so long that the lady on the bar had the good sense to offer complimentary drinks. And when my sausage & mash came it was swamped in gravy - why not in a boat I wonder! I was looking forward to sea bass but this was off the nexus that night. The banoffee pie was so outstanding, that I had it again on night 2! But why not serve it without cream when asked to? The prawn starter was good enough, but the Canon of lamb main course was to die for! I think 4 choices for both starter & dessert, and 5 mains, is a bit limiting. Room 1 was dog-friendly and had the most stupendous views out of the window - which opened properly to aerate the room. The bed was comfortable - even for me - and there was both wardrobe and 12 drawers. The TV was enormous and well positioned for bedtime viewing. The bath was pleasantly deep but sadly rather wide and so took an age to fill. The expelair was weak which made the bathroom rather stuffy. There was a 12” electric fan in the wardrobe and an extra blanket as the windows are single glazed. The grounds are beautifully kept and dog-friendly with a poo bin. The cooked breakfast on both mornings was excellent. Both fried & poached eggs were expertly done and it was nice to have a coffee machine so that you could choose what you fancy on the day. Sadly no grapefruit juice; just apple & orange. But the best thing was the dish of bacon & sausage for the dog! As many reviewers say, the drive needs resurfacing and the hotel needs to bite the bullet and have it done. Turning left at the lane is also not to be recommended but there is not a road to be seen from the hotel! The hotel is so quiet! Room 1 is above Reception but we never heard the comings & goings of residents. Dogs are neither allowed in the restaurant nor the breakfast room, but there is a large table on one side of the bar and 3 tables on the other side suitable. I would recommend this hotel whether you have a dog or not.
