Wee Waif in Wokingham

Room was great apart from the shower head. But all round good value for money, friendly staff, good location.

Room was OK, our second night they never left us any glasses. Breakfast .. sausage not cooked, mushrooms had nasty taste, coffee served in jugs, so cold. Not a enjoyable experience compared to other places we have stayed in the area. Won't be going back...

Much improved on our stay 2 years ago.

Good value for money, however I was unlucky at the time of my visit as they had problems with a new boiler and my hot water was barely tepid. I'm sure once sorted it would get a higher rating and represent good value for money.

The best Breakfast with Santa as always. We come here every single year. So reasonably priced and I guarantee that it's the best Santa you will meet this side of Lapland. Great food too.

After a very long gruelling journey from the north, we were welcomed at the Wee Waif Hotel and shown to our lovely room. The restaurant was cozyand the food was well presented, delicious and delivered quickly. I would recommend eating here.

The service is fantastic, the staff are friendly and approachable, Debbie was extremely helpful and accommodating, we mentioned a light that was catching my wifes eye and within moments she re- seated us with zero fuss or drama. As a fan of Streak and chips I can honestly say the Chief is a genius at cooking the Steaks .

Only for food. Good value and some good food deals. The restaurant was cold, I sat with my coat on. The food was average: not that hot and the mixed grill the meat was tough. Positive note the staff friendly and efficient.

Stayed at The Wee Waif many times now but this time the room was a let down. The heater wiring was hanging out of the socket, the chairs were damaged, one was literally coming apart,walls were damaged, the bath looked dirty and worn and smelt terrible and so it went on. The people working there are great and the food in the pub is good. Can't fault the people there

The wait at till is extremely long as understaffed, staff all seem annoyed. Ordered a £14.5 steak and it came with a strong weird smell, obviously it is stale, I do NOT understand why the cook didn't notice it and went on cooking. Took a bite and it was very sour and absolutely inedible. Sent it back for something else and staff seemed annoyed and didn't offer to refund price difference at all, had to quene up again for refund. Also Ordered a pitcher drink and staff didn't offer glasses for sharing, had to quene for another 10 minutes to ask for glasses again! Staff was seriously lacking and they were busy pouring beers and obviously avoiding to serve the till because they couldn't be bothered. Definitely never coming back. Whole family is extremely disappointed and almost ended up with food poisoning!

I was lucky to order a sour steak and returned it. I don't recommend ordering steak, when the steak was first served, there was a bad smell. I smelled it three times, my wife questioned whether I had made a mistake. My wife told me that the restaurant would not do that. Then I try to eat full of a very bad saw and corpus smell, put it down and we took it to the staff to let taste it for himself. This steak is completely spoiled, even the dinner atthe next table smell it. I don’t know how the chef finish it and then persented it to us. Won’t you find out? it's probably rare for people to order it.

Cheap and cheerful, excellent service and quick turnaround, often use this for a Saturday breakfast.

I recently visited for breakfast, and unfortunately, my experience was not great. I ordered the English breakfast, but the quality of the food left much to be desired. The sausages were rubbery and tough, the mushrooms had 0 colour of them. Additionally, the bacon wasn’t cooked properly. The quality of the food just wasn’t up to par. I hope this feedback can help improve the breakfast offerings.

Lovely food freshly cooked, friendly staff and very quick.

Food was very bad, we had to send steak back because it was inedible. Swapped it for a beef burger to playbot safe but never got offered anything in return for the loss of price difference between dishes. Lady was nice about it but all other staff made us feel awkward and unwelcome because of what happened. We didn't order pudding so we went to the nearest place instead. A very bad experience and the chef must be inexperienced because all the food was nasty!

Stay here whilst I'm working away. Rooms need updating....however the food makes up for that

A large group of us went for dinner tonight and despite being rushed of their feet the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and the food was delicious! Thanks Natalie, Dan, Fergal, Sam and the chefs, everyone was very happy :)

Good price for a room for one night for two people. Room was good overall and the pub was generally quite nice. Had drinks upon arrival and breakfast the next morning which was nice and a good price for what was offered. Would stay again.

A good selection of food and drinks at a reasonable price. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with a bad quality piece of steak. It was cooked as asked but it wasn't edible. Couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. We sent it back and the manager swapped the meal for a burger at my request but the meat quality on that wasn't great either so my niece went hungry. We had to go and ask for the difference in price to be settled and the barman gave us a pint of coke to cover the difference. Food quality just not great on this occasion which put a damper on our day as it was a treat.

Attentive waiting and bar staff Food was excellent Went for a family members birthday meal. Waiting Staff joined in with singing happy birthday and Jamie the waiter then continued with a song from Pirates of Penzance as we had a pirate themed cake.

Get what you pay for. Fast service and decent pub grub for a reasonable cost. Would recommend for a quick breakfast/lunch/dinner. Staff are pleasant and accommodating.

attended the fortnightly karaoke in the bar. excellent atmosphere and good range of singing ability that made for an enjoyable evening. well hosted with an incredible range of tracks on offer.

Lovely greeting from the very friendly receptionist. Nicely situated with a nice size car park. The outdoor seating is ideal. Rooms are clean and eell appointed for the money. Very good value. Restaurant very reasonably priced. All the staff were very friendly. Enjoying my stay.

The wee waif is just the best in my opinion! Love the atmosphere, food , service and the lovely staff….. Debbie, Anne , Natalie, Mihaela, Eddie and all the others are always so friendly and welcoming. My favourite little local and the hotel is nice too. Highly recommend!
