Websters Bar and Bistro in Glasgow City

Clatty Pats Walk Like a Glaswegian Having been a regular Thursday night visitor to Clatty Pats back in the 90s I was looking forward to this play. I've been to a number of plays at Websters and have always enjoyed the experience. However, not this time. The play was crude and tacky with an amateur cast. It was like watching a very bad karaoke. No storyline, out of tune singing and cast stumbling over their lines. Really dreadful. Should have realised at the very start it was going to be awful when 2 of the male cast members were dressed in very little and encouraging the audience to get photographs and spank their bare bottoms. If the genders were reversed there would be complaints. Awful "show", extremely disappointed.

This was our first visit to Webster’s Theatre and we decided to have a bite to eat beforehand. We hadn’t booked but were able to sit in the ‘snug’. The chew-dar was tasty and served with bread, the haloumi skewers were quite small (as they came from the small plate menu) and we.had some fries on the side. Couple of glasses of wine set us up for the show (which was an absolute hoot). Happy to return here as the food is good and the staff friendly.

The guys behind the bar absolutely make this place ! It is a small friendly pub with music on Saturday night. The sign outside actually says Succession.

We go here regularly for drinks when attending shoŵs....we attended a magic show on Saturday 24th Feb 2024 and it was a complete rip off.....amateur at best and might work for a group of 5 year olds but adult entertainment it was not plus cost a bleeding fortune ....very disappointing it was so bad we didn't return after the interval. We should have realised it would be pathetic as there were only a handful of people there....I hope Websters thoroughly check future presentations as their reputation will be in the gutter if shows like this continue ... The only saving grace was the ambience in the bar area and lovely helpful bar staff.

Maybe best to think again. Travel and dinner were arranged around a visit to the pantomime with our grandchildren. They were really looking forward to it. But today, Websters told us the production company had cancelled the performance, it seems because low ticket sales meant it wasn’t worthwhile for them. The other options we had at the time have now all gone so their cold, calculated decision has left us high and dry. We won’t even consider visiting Websters again.

Pleasant staff who made up a cocktail, bright main bar with a smaller lounge off. Not sure I'd want to sit outside on the busy GW Road. We were there for a play in the theatre; good seating, good visibility, but the loos are at the back and side of the stage, so anyone going for a wee joined the cast! To get to the loos, you have to go down the stage, through the foyer, through the bar, through the lounge, up the stairs to tiny loos crowded at the interval.

You’ve heard of pop up eateries and bars, this is one that randomly pops down, closing its heavy doors seemingly at random and is about as reliable in its opening times as public toilets in Ullapool in winter. Seriously, whoever owns this bar must enjoy pumping money down the drains and into the Kelvin. So annoying. Sort yourselves out for goodness sake.
