A well-known Partick watering hole.

My friend and myself usually visit once a month, the staff are always friendly especially Mina who gives us a warm welcome. Takes our order and goes above and beyond to serve us with drinks after our meal. The food however this time round wasn't up to its usual standards. Have you got a new chef?The chips were overcooked and the steak pie could have been warmer. The meat was slightly overcooked and chewy.

Beautiful old pub, with lots of minimal wood panelling and lots of windows. Great staff, very helpful. Top notch fish and chips. Busy but fast.

The door staff are absolutely rude. I arrived before my partner and when he arrived to meet me was refused entry by the door staff. They said he was wearing jogger bottoms and doesn’t meet their “clothing policy”, when in fact it was cargo trousers. My partner questioned the door staff and they did not like this. There was a man in there with shorts on as well as a man with an inflatable wrestler Halloween type costume. When my partner advised the door staff of this they said that the man with shorts arrived there when it’s wasn’t busy. To me it’s a bit hypocritical as it seems the clothing policy applies as they please, and the man with the Halloween costume was allowed in just after I arrived (when it was very busy). I asked the manager to come out and speak to the door staff. He said it was okay initially and said to the door staff to let him in. But since my partner challenged the door staff in terms of making the point that other people are in there that don’t meet their “clothing policy” they advised that my partner’s attitude is horrible for making a point which is very valid. The manger walked away and said well if his attitude is bad then he’s not allowed in. To me it seems the door staff that represent this pub pick and choose who to let in and when the “clothing policy” applies and doesn’t. This is the first time my partner had issues with his cargo trousers and being let in somewhere. Will not be returning as door staff are rude and have a hypocritical attitude.

Didn't try the food but the staff were very good 💯 and good place to chat with friends

Best pub around. Food is delicious and extremely reasonable. Staff are first class. Sticky toffee pudding and ice cream to die for!!!

Lentil soup was definitely homemade as were the battered mushrooms coming with a substantial salads. As regards main courses I had the chilli and rice it was plentiful hot in terms of temperature and in terms of spice while a friend with me had a cheese baked potato and rather be supplied with one potato was actually 1 1/2 large potatoes and this came with a side salad that was passed over to me so I ended up eating two lots of salad. And on a separate occasion had look warm vegetable pakora with a mountain of salad followed by the driest haddock mornay I have ever tasted.

Genuine pub, good people, good - honest food. Our usual start to the Partick evening.

Night out celebrating a friend retiring, so haven't added atmosphere as the front of the oval bar was taken over by friends & people I know. Staff were friendly.

Drinks only! Very good, friendly atmosphere and enjoyed my Guinness and 2 drams. I might try the food next time 😊

Not a bad pub, although a little quiet on my visit, which affects the atmosphere. Suppose it is mid-January and to be expected.

Lovely, freshly made food. Delivered with a smile. Good value, especially at lunchtime, with 2 courses for under £9.

Went for the quiz that should have been on. Once again got there and was told it won't be on today. Kitchen closed early again also. This is the best pub in Patrick when it all goes right. Which is rare these days unfortunately. It's a real shame.

Waited for ages for our food which caused use late for our other appointments nit very happy

It was my first visit to this pub and I was impressed. We had a bar meal, two of the party had the fish, one had the sharing platter (his eyes were bigger than his stomach) and I had the steak and ale pie with extremely lovely buttery mash. Our compliments to the chef. The staff were very pleasant. The pub and the toilets were clean 👍 The pub has TV screens showing different sports so the atmosphere can be loud but that didn't interfere with a good evening. I'll certainly return.

What an amazing gem of a pub in the West End of Glasgow!! Great service,cracking food and amazing friendly atmosphere!! The man in charge with a Conservative hairline is so slim he is often seen attempting to hide behind a pillar ready to pounce like a svelte tiger 🐅 😳 to offer 5 star service!! I'm sure I once saw him swimming backstroke up the Clyde whistling dixieland but I may be wrong!

Friendly independent pub in Partick. Food is good value, particularly the lunch time specials.

Pretty quiet for a Friday night, not a bad selection of Whiskey. Had to educate him on what a GLASS of Whiskey was..

Busy pub with good atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon

Tried to pop in for a pint late afternoon on a Saturday but refused entry by some OTT door steward explaining that the pub was as full. A Saturday afternoon. Go figure. I suspect they don't let new faces in when they don't have to. Poor show. Plenty other choices around Patrick.

Shannon is so friendly and amazing! Saw her helping out a customer on what they wanted to have for food. She is very attentive and so customer focused. It's a great place to drink and dine but the staff deserve most of the praise...they are all such hard working and friendly people who truly care for their customers.

The bar staff having a collective and suited uniform was a nice touch, the atmosphere was very welcoming, and the addition of fruit to my partners Gin really made her smile. I thought the staff were incredibly polite and non badgering.

You shall visit this pub. It's a thrilling place to meet people, have a good drink and get Glasgow vibe. 100% recommended

An excellent traditional pub. Swift service, but with predictable West End prices. It was V busy when I visited, 6pm on a Friday. There is a smoking area at the back for 21st century sinners.

I didn't spend that much time here, had a couple of pints, but long enough to get a general feel for the place. It's a favourite of my brother-in-law's who's from near the area and it was his Idea to call in. A good traditional pub with a decent amount of drinks to choose from and a nice place to spend time, especially when we managed to call in while the quiz was running, so that was entertaining.

Stopped in a for a glass of red before my flight. Nice ambience and views of the airport. The "waitress" , Sarah was so friendly and welcoming. She chats so naturally to everyone... I think everyone that she served ended up with a lovely smile. I ended up having a second glass just to hear how her kitten is getting on🤣. Personal service and friendliness like this are rare these days. Traveling alone can be tiresome, so the occasional experience like this is precious. Well done Sarah. You'll go far.... An asset to the bar. 🙏. Oh yes, the merlot was pretty decent too.....

Great pub witb traditional features , seating area available and standing at the bar. Good range of all drinks and drafts with a friendly and attentive staff ..many tv screens screaning different sports games so a bit for everyone. Toilets on site , newly done to an excellent standard and very clean. Food available too with a pub grub. Prices are reasonable £4 for a pint of Amstel.

A good pub. There's no shortage of pubs in Partick but the Deoch An Dorus is the one I find myself returning to the most. I think the name is Gaelic for whisky and water. There are a number of big television screens in this bar so you can usually see whatever game of football it is you are looking for. The staff are always friendly and the pub maintains a good atmosphere all the time. I think they would claim that they are a neutral pub when it comes to footy teams but it draws more of a Rangers crowd when they are playing and it is always busy on game days. Fair choice of pints on tap and they must keep the lines clean as I've never had a bad pint. Good place all in all.

A great pub, bar staff were really friendly, the atmosphere was nice & relaxed & the beer was good & relatively cheap.

The pub is ok and I like the food. As an ale drinker though, they don't have any options other than Joker IPA. They don't even have any bottles of Ale. The staff are friendly, but there's loads of places I'd rather go than here.

Brill atmosphere bar staff so nice. Food yummy we had fish n chips. Even young boy moved from a table to stand to let us sit down, so I bought him a drink. That was really nice of him.

Having spent the last week in Glasgow enjoying many great meals, including 4 different steak pie lunches, this one was the best. Washed down with a pint of heavy, delicious. Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. I will be back in my next visit to Glasgow.

Really busy, football was on and France were playing, , but great atmosphere with plenty of staff to cover demand. Only issue was lack of seating, In the main not an issue but one person in our company could have done with one, defo go back.

Haven't been for a while, but still, a great place to go for lunch, food still good staff very professional, prices up but you expect that,thay do a shuttle bus to the Hydro.

Main menu is far to expensive as the portions are what you would expect on a small set menu , and also the few chips that you get are cheap frozen chips.

A well deserved 4 out of 5 . Took my mum and brother for lunch and had the best lasagne and chips I've ever had in a pub ! Mother had chicken fahetias ( spell check 😊 ) and she loved it , and she's hard to please lol . A friendly and welcoming environment and really nice staff and great service. Would thoroughly recommend it 👍

The service was top notch. Very polite and and friendly staff. My friend thought the chicken was a little dry but I disagreed, stole his phone and took this photo in the lovely clean toilets.

Visited on tue afternoon with my mum and enjoyed a very tasty 2 course lunch for £7.95 each and bottle wine, which again was very reasonable. Pub was quite busy for a tue and had a good atmosphere. Staff very smart in uniform, extremely friendly and efficient. Will definately be back.

Pub was nice and lively there was music and allot of chat so nice and friendly, we went here as part of the glasgow famous sub crawl and will go again, met some nice Americans who were here studying too got them to take a pic for us 😀 yay

Never in my entire life I have been so insulted than in this bar by one of the staff members, I assumed might have been the manager, a middle aged guy of doubtful origins - he denied serving me and my partner, stating that one of us wasn't quite sober. Considering the amount of heavy drink they serve on the spot to say the least after a small glass of guiness I previously had, it was none the less a ridiculous accusation. How can a guy like this allow himself to insult verbally and almost physically a female customer in a public place without no plausable reason is beyond my comprehension. I am seriously considering taking legal steps against this pub and its personnel.
