Moskito Bar in Glasgow City

Food was nice but waited over an hour for our starter and almost two hours for our main. Service was atrocious, only managed to order two drinks and that was because my husband ended up having to go the bar because waiters were too busy having a laugh with each other and chatting. It was not busy. Shortly after finishing our main that we waited almost two hours for, the waiter came up and asked if I wanted anything else when my husband was at the loo, and I said not at the moment thank you and he said OK I need the table back in 15 minutes and I said that's OK we will be leaving soon and he said OK I'll get you the bill then.. no offer of dessert or anything? We'd been waiting so long for everything and had rubbish service, really felt like a money grab. No care or consideration, Service was soooo slow. Who spends almost 3 hours for a starter and a main and only two drinks? Will only return because we have a voucher but won't be back after that.

Went here on sunday with my husband as we were given a voucher for 3 courses and 2 drinks. But we were really dissapionted the food was tasteless and overcooked the katsu bowl I got was not nice couldn't really eat it. We did let the waiter know and he was apologetic and offered a extra dessert which We politely declined but just not good enough. This was our first time here and can't see from today why we would return or recommend this place.

First time here and we were not disappointed, myself and my girlfriend went here for a wee date night, food was amazing, cocktails were great! With a fantastic selection. Our server who's name we didn't get unfortunately but he had fabulous nails so I hope he knows who he is, he was very attentive even though the place was quite busy, helping us select cocktails and even our film for when we got home ❤️

Great place to spend Saturday afternoon! Super attentive service by Harry and others, we ended up staying longer than planned to have food which was delicious. Great choice of cocktails and wine. Perfect music and a lovely atmosphere which brightened up a damp February afternoon. Well done Moskito, we shall be back!

What a discovery! Booked this place for 4pm drinks with friends and ended up ordering small plates and lots of lovely cocktails. Food was delicious (bao buns and dumplings) - hot, fresh and tasty. Great variety of cocktails. We went with the recommendations of our lovely server Harry. Harry attended to our table personally, bringing water, re-ordering drinks and suggesting food from the new menu. He was charming and attentive. We loved this place so much that we’ve booked for a forthcoming Motown Brunch. Cannot wait.

I’m sorry I can’t give a better rating. Service was professional but slow. We booked for 5:30pm on a Wednesday and got our desert at 7:30pm on a 2 course menu! Maybe our Groupon booking had them assuming we had no money! No one came to refill our wine or ask if we wanted to order anything. Food was average. Nothing amazing. I’ve had better.

We loved moskito, came as date night and loved everything, the food and ambience was amazing, top quality, there was live music, 2 guitars and drums , guys were so good, our lovely waitress, didn't get her name but she was so attentive and even went above n beyond to ask questions to kitchen staff concerning an allergy, honestly would and have recommended to friends and family, and can't wait for our next visit

The service was excellent thanks to Demi, and the food was excellent too. My wife and I had a pleasant afternoon there.

Went on 17th Dec with my adult granddaughter having the assumption I had booked online and could use a Groupon voucher I had purchased.I was told they weren't allowing Groupon vouchers in Dec ! I can only assume my online booking was rejected somehow.There was no way I was disappointing my granddaughter so just went in anyway. I can't fault the service or the food and certainly would recommend.The waiter said the detail of not accepting Groupon in December is "in the small print"i certainly can't find it! I think it's fair I let others know about the exclusion of Groupon vouchers in December.We had something really nice to go to after the meal but this exclusion could potentially ruin someone's night.

The food at Mostkito Bar Kitchen is absolutely delicious. The waitress , waiter are amazing, providing outstanding service 100% perfect. The manager are doing an excellent job and we are so happy with our experience. The cocktail are fantastic and the bartender craft incredible drinks. I absolutely love Moskito Bar Kitchen and will always recommend it to my friends

Absolutely would recommend this venue, I have attended a few brunches and spent an evening for my birthday and we all had such an amazing night!! The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and catered to anything we needed, specially our server Cieran, we have never received such amazing service from anywhere else before and would highly recommend anyone to just try it!! The Manager Tony even came out to say happy birthday and just check everyone was having a good night!! Thanks so much Moskito, we can’t wait to come back!!xx

We came here on Friday night, we had the monkey room booked for our festive office party. We selected the buffet menu and we loved that they do this from their main menu, the food was so tasty and the bar team in this room kept the drinks flowing until 3am. Thanks Moskito and we can’t wait to return next year.

Had a lovely brunch experience at Moskito in Glasgow. Had such a wonderful waitress, Jasmine, was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout. Definitely will return.

Poor excuse for upper management cushty pay for them while they have their unfortunate team do the dirty work. Absolutely fantastic team of staff being bossed around by two managers who sit and hide away during peak service hours. Zero acknowledgment of what actually goes on in the venue. Would suggest staying away and finding a venue that actually has an active manager that actually oversees operations properly.

Groupon deal, nice food, staff and decor

DON’T ATTEND THE BRUNCH ON A WEEKEND IF YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED… my friend bought both our tickets for what we assumed to be a boozy, country style brunch with all you can drink for the price we paid. 45 minutes to an hr wait at the door. When we finally were sat at a table (the place was packed). Only good thing to say was the food quality was good and drinks tasted nice.The music was HORRENDOUSLY loud, can’t even hear yourself think and 45 minutes to an hour wait on drinks? Absolutely not! Very disappointing. Out of the whole hour and a half we were there 2 drinks served to us. I had very high hopes for this place after looking at social media. Staff looked incredibly stressed out. Very small venue, taking the Micky with the capacity of people they had. Ruined the vibe completely and the experience.

Booked a table here for birthday celebrations last weekend and couldn't fault it! Cocktails and food were excellent. The staff were all super friendly and helpful (and the lady dealing with us was very patient and accommodating!). Definitely one to return to

Visité aquí con mi hija para un día de chicas y no nos decepcionó. Nuestra comida era preciosa, tuve la tostada francesa con tocino y jarabe de arce y mi hija tenía los huevos benedict. La comida era fresca y deliciosa. El servicio era bueno y las entradas eran una relación calidad-precio, dos cócteles, comida y el espectáculo. Los camareros eran muy amables y no tuvimos que esperar por bebidas. Fue una ventaja adicional conseguir las bebidas servidas en la mesa (no tener que hacer cola en el bar) Sin duda recomendaría Moskito para sus eventos y volveré. Los cócteles eran deliciosos.

Had our daughters 21st here and from start to finish it was excellent. The 2 bar staff were great and couldn’t do enough (Benjy was brilliant). The food was amazing and the kitchen staff were a great help with the cake. Overall great venue and great night.

First time.in this bar. The food was nice, good-sized portions. Our table was in a cornor at the back, so we kind of lost the atmosphere of the place. The staff were friendly but because of our table location were never really seen them.and had to get up.and find someone if we wanted something.

Came to moskito with my partner on a date night on Friday with the intention of having one drink and moving to the next bar. But that intended one drink became several and we ended up staying in the venue for the remainder of our night. The service staff provided us great recommendations, such as the Rhubarb and Custard cocktail and even a few mock tail selections for when the boozing was getting a bit too much. Later in the night the venue maintained its chill cozy vibes with a DJ set that was banging and brought me back to my younger years, the bar staff showed great love for the trade and provided a great deal of witty banter for us each time we went to the bar. Highly recommend moskito for a chill romantic night out, or even a good wee boozer. Will be back very soon

July 2024. Attended Motown Brunch as a big group. The food and cocktails were delicious! The entertainment was brilliant & we danced the whole afternoon. The only thing that let us down was table service of drinks/bar service. It wasn’t easy to get served & no one really kept on top of our table to make sure we had drinks (or any table, others made the same comments). Definitely missing out on some income on that front, maybe be more beneficial for staff to look after a section each. Despite this, the staff were really lovely & we had a great day! Keen to do another Boozy Brunch deal for sure.

The service and attention to detail with regard to my Garlic intolerence, prior to our visit, was remarkable. What a change from being completely ingnored by other "quality" restaurants despite giving them the same information beforehand. The food was also delicious. We will be back!

It absolutely outdid my expectations in every way. Food.....honestly everything was so good....better than I expected. Service....faultless. Drinks....hmmm honestly a bit weak but tasty. Long island ice tea was so weak....it's my normal drink and...this is just not good. I wouldn't ever go here for a drink however everything else was faultless. I absolutely would go back.

First visit here and I can’t wait to come back! The food was absolutely amazing without a doubt the best eggs Benedict I have ever had! It was served with salmon which I didn’t want, I wanted bacon instead and they were so accommodating which we really appreciated! Staff were so lovely and attentive our server ciaran was just amazing! Can’t thank him enough for how nice he was! They all made us feel so welcome Such a beautiful restaurant, very well priced and just can’t wait to go again thank you!

cocktails are amazing, presented really well and taste gorgeous. ordered a lot of food, mostly really flavourful & delicious. would recommend katsu sandwich, cod tacos, fried chicken & tiger prawns. felt some dishes like miso salmon were maybe overpriced for portion size but others like the cod tacos were really good value!!

Had high hopes for this place but I have to say we were left very disappointed. On arrival the entrance was rather lackluster to say the least. The stairs down to the bar entrance could do with some tender loving care! The stairs are rather worn and for someone, such as me, who likes to wear their heels the stairs were a wee bit of a hazard! The restaurant/bar itself is cosy and welcoming and has nice decor. I did however feel our allocated table didn't give us much view of the bar area and live band that was playing. We also found it hard to attract the attention of the waiting staff as we were tucked away in a booth area. With regards to the food, I am going to be really honest here, it wasn't great. The Thai fish cake was rather dry and a bit rubbery. I also had the Honey Garlic Chicken Crepe which was way too salty! In the end I just scrapped out the chicken and only ate the crepe. I really didn't enjoy it at all. Only thing that we enjoyed was the Bang Bang Sweet Potato Fries and the Honey and Basil Flatbread these were tasty and fresh. Food and drink is also very reasonably priced and portion sizes are good. Apart from the food being disappointing the live band that was playing were excellent. In addition to this the young man who served our table was very welcoming and attentive. Without this and the nice contemporary decor, and if I was only reviewing the food, I would have found it hard to highlight any positives. I did really struggle here even giving the 2 stars as at one point during our meal we were very rudely interrupted by the women who was allocated as front of house for the evening. We had literally just started eating our main course when this women made her way over to our table and said that a large party was arriving in an hours time and she would need to move us. Firstly, I don't know why we were put in a booth area which was way too big for our party size. Further to this why were we allocated to this seating area if a large party was expected to arrive? The area in which we were seated was much more appropriate for a larger group of diners. There was plenty of alternative seating in the bar area when we arrived, and when we left, which would have been more appropriate for our party size as it was rather quiet for a Friday evening. It really felt that it all came down to very bad table management and the women who works front of house really needs to learn some manners and customer service skills! You should at least wait until people have finished eating their meal before pre-empting a move to another table. We therefore decided to finish up our meal early and go somewhere else. Had all of this not happened we had intended to stay a bit longer, have dessert and some cocktails (as the cocktail menu looks great), we also wanted to enjoy the live music but due to the rudeness of the women working front of house we felt rushed to finish our meal. Such a pity as the actual waiting staff were polite and attentive however this women working front of house just ruined our dining experience. Due to this we won't be back. Such a shame as it really is a lovely bar/restaurant, with a relaxed and laid back ambience, complimented further by the live music and contemporary decor.

Popped in for Brunch and was not disappointed. Food was delicious, I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and it was really good. Really nice interior and the music was great too. Service was outstanding, we were served by Cieran and he was friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

I popped into Moskito for a quick drink after work last Friday but ended up staying for 3 or 4! The staff were so friendly Nadine greeted me and my friend at the door and secured us a table even though we hadn’t booked and it was very busy. Great service from Tony all night who went the extra mile to recommend great cocktails. The nibbles board was lovely too!

Popped in this afternoon, drinks were great and we had some small plates which were really flavoursome. Our server Tony smashed it, really helpful and his recommendations where amazing.

Genuinely so terrible, one of the worst bars I've ever been to. Shocking service with a condescending and rude server, food was terrible w no allergens listed on menu, and a single drink was £12. Would recommend to everyone to stay away.

The worst food I have had the displeasure to taste and pay for...Avoid the rubber fish cakes and the cardboard chicken...Not for us won't be going back Shame as some of the staff are very nice

Lovely wee place but food is overpriced for what you get.....I got the fishcake, which was absolutely disgusting, tasted like fish but had a rubbery texture, more like an overcooked burger pattie, fries were brilliant (3 stars for them alone). Server hardly cracked a smile, didn't bother to ask if food was okay, even after seeing that I hadn't eaten the so called fishcake. Bit of a poor experience all round....definitely won't be back.

Very nice wee place. Girl who served us was lovely. Portion sizes could have been a bit bigger. If the fries weren't overdone would have given more stars. Had to leave half the fries due to them being rock solid. Food was well presented

It was a quiet Friday afternoon when we visited. The guy who served us was simply wonderful! Couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and polite. The food was delicious, the hake dish and beef char sui were particularly fabulous and the charcoal pavlova...yum! Highly recommended it. Only slight thing was that it was a bit cold, but that's probably just coz it was quiet and not much body heat in the place. Loved it here.

Booked table online and received confirmation. Turned up at alloted time on a wet and windy night to celebrate my wife's birthday, only to be told our booking hadn't shown up on their system. We were told we could have a table but only for 75 minutes - we said this was not any use for a night out. Asked to sit at the bar so they could see if they could"rearrange things". No apology offered and no offer of a drink whilst we waited. Sat for a few minutes then gave up and went elsewhere. Terrible customer care in my opinion.

Expensive. Staff weren't overly friendly, but not terrible. Seemed like a hassle finding us a table. Only there for one drink, but hit you with a service charge! Complete joke after paying a small fortune for an average cocktail.

On the pricy side but good atmosphere and music is normally on point. DJs have always managed to gauge the mood and also get live music. Bar can get very busy though which means a wait at times.

Really disappointed. I attended for the xmas brunch which cost £35 (ish) which included a small meal and 2 cocktails. Now, i don't drink but still wanted to join in with my friends who do. I asked the server if they did any mocktails to which he said no but can get me a soft drink instead. Disappointed, I asked if i could at least have a 0% beer. He said i could but i would then need to pay extra (which i did but kinda had no alternative) so i essentially paid more than my friends, even though i wasn't drinking. Really poor service for a bar in 2023! I certainly wont be back as there are plenty of other great, inclusive places in glasgow that have no alcohol alternatives! The entertainment was great though so nothing against the DJ and singers!

Cocktails are not great , kind of expected them to be nice seen as its a cocktail bar and as for the food just don't bother cheap attempt at tapas . Great service from staff though

Fantastic hidden gem of a bar in Glasgow. Staff all super friendly and the cocktails we had were all super tasty. Plenty of classics on the menu but some great bespoke cocktails too. Can't wait to get back to Glasgow and next time we'll try to eat here too, food looked excellent.

My fiancé and I came here for a small birthday dinner/night out. The food was incredible! I cannot recommend the menu enough. We had such a delightful sever, the cocktails were creative and delicious. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

A group of us came here after dinner, was about 11 pm, and this guy was walking about with his saxophone, playing tunes. We didn't eat, and we just ordered a few rounds from the bar. Really cute place, and the drinks were great!

Erm we had an ok time, but each time we ordered a new bottle of wine we got given a bottle that was already open and had some wine already taken from it (ie the same bottle twice), I dunno just took the shine off the visit. Decor is lovely, love music was a treat, and the place was buzzing maybe we just had quite new bar staff.

One of the best meals I've had in a restaurant in years, my husband had the pork katsu sandwich which he enjoyed but the stand out was the crispy haggis bar, the whisky caramel sauce was unbelievably good. Finished off with gorgeous white chocolate eclairs and a couple of cocktails. Beautiful setting and the staff were lovely. Will definitely be returning

Always love coming here! Went for lunch and we opted for the tapas style menu and it really didn’t disappoint. Our server was really attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is always lovely and the menu for drinks is great too.
