Wayside Fish Bar in Croydon

Just picked up some dinner on the way home, the owners were absolutely lovely, really welcoming and super accommodating! The cod was lovely and flaky, chips & battered sausage were yummy and my daughter gives a massive thumbs up to the nuggets :) even though we had to get a bus home and walk, the food was still piping hot when we got in. Will definitely be going back, thank you!

The reason why I put Atmosphere 3 it's because you do get some people like to shout it not because of APO or Lisa it just general but anyways I recommend the Veggie burger and fish Cake burger mmmm so delicious.

Best fish and chip shop in Croydon! Food is always hot and cooked well. Staff are always friendly. I always look forward to having a meal from here when I visit my family in Addington .

Great quality fish and chips . The fish isn’t too oily and chips in a very generous quantity. They don’t take cards but there’s a cash machine just a few steps from the shop. I will always return for a quick fish and chips anytime . Very polite and friendly staff

The best chips in New Addington by far!

Popped in for lunch first time being in the area went in ordered chicken fillet burger, very generous portion and he even gave me some free chips, top guy very polite with customer engagement 👌🏾

The chicken burger and cod bites are very nice, the chicken is nice and juicy and the cod bites are perfect for a little snack!! I definitely recommend to try it out! Customer service is absolutely lovely!

Can't believe it,last night I seid to the misses,I fancy a bit of fish,yeah okay then, we're get some tomorrow for tea,as I had a doctor's appointment in feildway we're go to wayside fish and chips shop,we have only been here once before and it was a mazing the first time,but that tonight wasn't anything like that first time,it was like soggy cardboard, swimming in buckets of grease,the chips stank of grease,let alone taste, unexceptable,and for what we payed, very very disappointed, change the oil,and drain the fish before rapping up, seriously.avoid.

Friendly staff and tasty food. If I could change anything it is that chips are cooked a few nore minutes as I like mine crispy, but I know not everyone does.

The food is excellent. The best chicken fillet burger I have had. My granddaughter loves the doner kebab. The service is outstanding. I have back problems and my food order was carried to my car for me. No one has ever done this for me. Thank you so much. You will get my return custom. I would recommend to anyone.

Such a hidden gem on the estate. Great friendly staff and the chicken fillet burger honestly is the best; it's not your standard chicken shop small frozen burger, for a very very reasonable price you get a fresh, huge, perfectly cooked chicken breast made to order. (Sometimes it's so big the chicken barely fits in the burger box) I've been coming here regularly for ages and brought my friends around to try it recently and they all loved it and agreed that it's ruined all other chicken places for us. Definitely recommend, New Addington's best kept secret.

Visited earlier this month decided to compare the fish & chips against McDermotts which we had recently a lot cheaper cost £4.60p lge Cod and £1.60p regular chips compared to McDermotts and just as tasty but a lot more chips and bigger fish and cheaper than McDermotts so I know where I will be going again

Fish , lovely always fresh Cooked, chicken fillet burgers are huge and taste fantastic. Kebabs good size and tasty 😋.

Fancied fish and chips tonight, so headed to the Wayside Fish Bar, as it is in our opinion the best fish and chip shop in the area. We usually have the cod, but decided to try the haddock tonight, and were not disappointed. All fish is cooked to order in a light batter, and like the cod, the haddock was boneless and skinless and cooked to perfection. If you don't fancy waiting while they cook your order, you can phone you order through, then pick it up when it is ready, though it is always worth the wait. Very friendly service and excellent value for money.

This place maybe in a estate that has a reputation for being violent but the fish here is brilliant and you got to try their chicken burgers. Your see what I mean when you by one.

This chip shop never fails me and now they do kebabs n southern fried.chicken I don't need to leave Addington .... there chicken burgers are the best .....

I purchased on Friday 20th May my evening meal a chicken fillet burger & chips the fillet was so big that it stuck out both sides of the bap and was to big for the polystyrine box it was absolutely yummy there was so many chips that i could not eat them all very good value for the money worth every penny

This fish &chip shop is the best in New Addington they cook lovely fish all freshly cooked to order they also do a chicken breast fillet burger that is so big it sticks out either side of the bap extremely good value i go there once a week sometimes more try it you will love it
