Excellent food, thoroughly recommended

The food was really nice and the curry sauce was spot on.

The food is delicious. Unfortunately my meal arrived cold but my daughter enjoyed her meal thoroughly. Great touch for the option to add salt, pepper, vinegar etc. Not great value for money though as for £18 for a fish meal I would have expected a large piece of cod. The cod was very small unfortunately so will unlikely order again which is a shame.

Been here tonight. Me and my son had Large.cod fish-and-chips. I travel to different parts of London every year In December.. This is by far the nicest.

Really good food all enjoyed the food. The only thing was that the battered sausage was a little under cooked.

Really good customer service, good didn’t come too quickly and felt confident knowing the fish was being fried through properly. Fish tasted fresh and really light and flaky.

I was waiting almost 2 hours for the delivery. The chips is missing, the food was cold when the delivery guy arrived. One of the food was opened. I used to order regularly from the restaurant, I know they always wrap the food properly. Please employ better delivery men.

It really is the best fish and chips I have ever eaten in the entire United Kingdom, fresh and super delicious 😋 and the attention of the staff is incomparable, especially the guy who speaks Spanish, he is a super nice and kind person with customers.

This used to be in my opinion the best chippy in all of Croydon and I used them for years. But in the last few months something has changed. The cod batter is no longer crispy and flaky, but instead stodgy and thin. The chips have become inedible and taste half cooked with the scraps like chewing on cardboard instead of the usual crunchy satisfaction I was accustomed to. This was the 3rd time (in a row) I ordered with the food tasting like this, and I can no longer give them any more chances. Loyalty has a limit. Really disappointed! (Update 24/07/2024) - in response to the reply from the shop: how do I return food delivered to me?? So when do you expect your potatoes to return to normal standards? I suspect you have changed something in your cooking process which is why they taste like this. What is your excuse for the fish?

I was walking down the road after casting my vote as is my democratic duty in this nation and I was accosted by such a pleasant and powerful aroma of fried fish that I had to drag my friend across the road with me to enter the inconspicuous looking fish shop. I went in and saw the £13 tag for the cod and chips and my heart sank a little as I still am stuck in my 2017 fantasy world of £6 large fish and chips from my go to spot up North (nearer Burnley than Finsbury Park). However my friend offered to pay for the morsel for us to split. As the gigantic beautifully battered cod was being laid upon golden luscious chips, I spotted it. That sexy, sleek siren.. Bloody red salt!!! It was my go to topping on fish and chips up North but no places South of the nation seemed to have it on tap. The lovely man serving us suggested to put some upon half the fish and chips as my friend is more on the traditional side for her toppings and my heart was fully stolen. We sat and tucked into the gorgeous meal. It was so beautifully flaky that cod, the batter wasn’t heavy and it was crispy on the top and bottom!!! The chips were perfectly hot and fluffy in the middle and with no old oil flavour. The price justified the superb quality and service so expect for me to be back in the near future. Food looked amazing on their Instagram page which made me go but then the quality of chips I got were not the same most were like small crunchy bits.. But the fish was great did really enjoy that.. Went again and this time the staff were more friendly and welcoming. Must go especially if you want everything Halal. 👍👍

Normally their food is spot on but today I feel like I got oven chips instead of proper chip shop chips or these have been refried ! it didn’t taste the same and it got chucked in the bin unfortunately what a waste

We popped in, on a Sunday afternoon, drawn in by their claim that they sell roast chicken. We even asked if the chicken is rotisserie and we were assured that it is and they have the rotisserie at the back..( we should have realised at that point , but I guess we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt). When we received the chicken it was in quarters ( pieces ) and it was deep fried ! We specifically wanted this as my daughter can’t have deep fried food - because of a health issue - We took it back and at first they wouldn’t admin the truth but in the end they had no choice but to admit it - The chicken comes from a back , precooked and it’s reheated by deep frying it ! It’s a shame that they think they can mislead people like that.. The chips were also horrible - black and brown spots on them ) so they were not fresh) and the whole meal smelled of old oil!! We wanted to support the local business but with this kind of attitude, we won’t be going back !

Best fish and chips in Croydon.

Order from here when some of the other chip shops aren't available and normally OK. Today, they sent out a pie that had been microwaved, so it was like a soggy mess, and it was stone cold in the middle. Total disregard for food hygiene. If a product isn't available, then contact the person that ordered and say so or remove it from the order. In what world can a pie be microwaved. No trust remains, so threw all away and won't order from there again.

Can I just say this is a brilliant establishment no delivery drivers would except my order so one of the employees or owner called me to let me know that he would deliver it himself and it was delicious

The chips tasted fresh, the cod was fresh and tasty. We recently moved into Croydon and hadn't found our go-to spot - this will now be our go-to chippy.

The portion sizes are getting smaller and the prices are going up! Chips are so cheap to make I will take my custom elsewhere

The portion sizes were good but the food was so bland. I selected salt to be added but I swear there was none. First chippy I’ve eaten from that doesn’t use enough salt. A shame really, I think it would’ve been really good.

Perfect food and quick delivery

Food was beautiful in fact the best piece of fish i have had in years. All cooked to perfection with mo soggy batter like most other places. The chips were amazing and the portion sizes were very good. My brother had the chicken and said its the best his ever had from a chip shop.

We were delighted that it arrived early. Great value, tasty and hot. Very happy! 😊

This is our go to fish and chips in the local area, have been a patron for over twenty years and always top quality food. Only downside is they are cash only so need to visit the cash machine on the walk to the shop.

Good food,but poor delivery,needs major improvement there, considering I gave them an hour head start ordered the food after 17.00 and I am still waiting at 18.50

Excellent fish and chips, with prompt delivery. They deliver to hotels in Croydon central. Varied menu and all of their products are top notch. Why don't you give them a try. The food is presented in a cardboard box, and is normally very hot.
